Lol.... I don't know how y'all read ur own bibles, the bible did not make it a benchmark ....never did the bible mention anywhere that when. pple speak in tongues, people around must hear it in their own languages as proof of being real...... U guys a laughable.... grin

U can prove me wrong by showing here, where the bible said it's a must... it was even an isolated scenario.....

.the bible is a book of many accounts, instruction, commands, etc....you people just sometimes fallaciously make some things a benchmark when its not....
..Jesus fasted for 40days ..why dont yall make 40days a benchmark for your fasting.??
..Jesus walked on water..why dont yall make walking on water a must for urself??

....the holy ghost can manifest as it pleases at anytime...nobody control the manifestation ..... For example....With annais and saphira ..the holyghost manifested as instant judge against deception ...yet there are many places pple fvcked up and never got the same instant death treatment...

Again....If it was a benchmark ..Paul won't address the possibility of people not understanding.....he even went further to say if no one is around to understand or interprete for others... Speak ur tongues in private between u and God....

Saying u must understand the tongues a person speaks is total fallacy.... There were 3000 thousand people who gathered when they heard the sound like a rushing wind on the Pentecost day.... the holyghost wanted to save them .......hence he manifested the way he wanted which led to many being saved that day..

Why should the holyghost make u understand ...to what end.......?? Who are u..?? I
Someone is speaking in tongues in his room and yall came to attack him that's is fake.. just because yall don't have the experience...

I don't speak in tongues...though I feel some are speaking for showoff....but I don't invalidate people just because I don't understand.. Kapish!!!

Thank you. There was no where it was said that people must understand neither was it said people must not understand.

We have to deal with what we know as it is written in Acts 2:6-11.

It was clear there what speaking in tongues mean. What other Christians did in later epistles of Paul is exactly what we are doing now. They simply adulterated it and were misinformed of the true concept of speaking in tongue. At least it's not recorded that Paul spoke in tongues hence he might not know.

The description is simple, tongue means language and if you're speaking in languages and no one can understand it, then you ain't speaking in languages. It's quite that simple..

I can try to understand if they said they were speaking to God and not in tongue. At least since we don't have proof of the language of God, we can all take it as mystery.

On a side note, those epistles of Paul are merely his teachings, just like the interpretation your pastor, Bishop, Pope or priest will give to the scriptures.
Does passage of time make it infallible?
If we took that of Paul and others, why don't we take further teachings of great men of God who came after? Lol. This is just a side note.

We are not proficient in all languages....so i don't think anyone should automatically tag anyone's tongue as fake just because it's sounds as gibberish to us or the bible gave an account of what happened in a particular place that people heard them speak their own language.. the holy ghost moves in diverse ways

There are other places act 19v6 & acts 8v17 ...where the the apostle played hands on people to receive the holy ghost, spoke in tongues and it was not recorded that others heard them in their own language..

For example ....should we should all now say....tongues of fire must also show up on people's head...or a sound like a mighty rushing wind must also be heard as proof of the holy ghost baptism

The bolded was so cause the benchmark has already been there. That for everyone that speaks in tongue people must hear and understand.

And secondly I don't need to be proficient in another language, I'm Igbo and I can understand English hence for the person speaking in tongue, I must hear him in either of the above just as an Hausa man or Yoruba man would understand it concurrently in their own language.

It's that simple. The people that gathered in Jerusalem did not know all languages.

All ddnt.....go and read the place again..in the same passage..they were accused of being drunk speaking nonsense.....and peter had to come forward to explain they are not drunk..
If they all heard them clearly...why accuse them of being drunk...or u ddnt read that part?

Not every one will get u when u speak in tongues paul made that clear in 1cor 14v2 ...

which is why Paul said that tongues should be appropriately used ...if the church won't be edified or blessed....speak your tongues to God alone in prayer....

Thank you for your clarification. I love when someone argues logically. Thanks...

But I would think that for someone to accuse me of drunk, then the person must have at least heard a part.
However, Acts 2:6-12. More emphasis on best 11 ‭Acts 2:11 GNBDK‬
both Jews and Gentiles converted to Judaism, and some of us are from Crete and Arabia — yet all of us hear them speaking in our own languages about the great things that God has done!”

This is simple English. All heard them in their own tongue or language. I understand the explanation you're trying to give but then, the Bible was clear. Not the incoherent words we here today.

I must salute your coutesy and politeness.

Oga..u don't know what u are saying....so someone speaking in tongues in his room must be understood by everyone in this world that listens to him....?? Oga..u don't understand what u read in acts of apostle... ....

I think you fail to understand the point. The Apostles spoke and all heard them IN THERE LANGUAGE.

However, what we hear ain't speaking in tongues.

Lol.....so how are you going to audit his tongues?? Are u proficient in all languages of this world, both popular and remote village language grin grin

He doesn't need to understand all languages. He just needs to hear it in his own indigenous languages as is in the Bible, Acts of the Apostles
Religion / Re: How I Started Praying/speaking In Tongues. (my Experience) by Bunnatex(m): 8:53am On Jul 14
But sincerely, what you described isn't speaking in tongues. How many people could hear and understand you?

The speaking in tongues was clearly explained in the Acts of the Apostles, what is done today isn't it.

I am not religious, but it is 1000% possible for a breast to grow back not because it is a natural phenomenon but because ANYTHING YOU BELIEVE AND YOU CAN VISUALIZE IT AND FEEL LIKE IT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED. IT WILL DEFINETLY HAPPEN. This is a principle from Quantum Physics point of view.

She grew back her breast back only because she believed strongly in it.

If you doubt what I am saying. Take a glass of water and have someone drink it. Then prove to the person that the water was gotten from a latrine. If the person can believe beyond any reasonable doubt that it is a latrine water, watch how he will fall sick straight away. And yes, he will land in the hospital with a real sickness.

Conclusion: Your life is a printout of your thoughts. grin

This is good but Innoson should produce brands that the general public can afford because for now it seems they are catering only to government agencies and politicians. It is obvious that without government patronage, Innoson will fold up and that is not a good long term business strategy.

I think Innoson is cheap. Consider those vehicles you call cheap, remember you buy them as Tokunbo, check their prices as new vehicle and you'll discover that Innoson is cheaper. Remember all Innoson vehicles are chassis

Culture / Re: Emir Sanusi & Bayero's Conflicting Court Orders: A Lawyer's View. by Bunnatex(m): 1:45pm On May 29
Safyqueen:

The technicality here is that Sanusi was found wanting before his dethronement whereas Aminu Ado Bayero was not investigated and found wanting. When the emirate was balkanized, Sanusi held the center and was their chairman, so if the law is now repealed, Aminu Ado Bayero who succeed Sanusi as their chairman supposed to continue or another person entirely through another fresh nomination, screening by the concerned king makers would have been done.

If Sanusi wasn't dethroned and the law is now repealed, Sanusi being the one on the centre stool would have been asked to continue expressely as it is now. So why not Aminu Ado Bayero by the same express.

I think I understand your logic. And I think it's a fair one. But then I think the house of assembly is trying to return to status quo on the state of affairs before the deposition of Sanusi.

Maybe they are of the opinion that the old Emir was never meant to be deposed in the first place.

Culture / Re: Emir Sanusi & Bayero's Conflicting Court Orders: A Lawyer's View. by Bunnatex(m): 9:22am On May 29
Safyqueen:

Point of correction please.
The same process was not used to remove Sanusi. Ganduje only balkanized the emirate councle into five and Sanusi held sway with one before a panel of enquiry was constituted against Sanusi which later surmounted to his dethronement at other time.

Good, this Balkanization came as a result of bill by The House of Assembly who at the time thought it was the best thing to do. Now same house of assembly is saying they want to return to one Emirate. So what's the fuss about it? I think the only issue would be if it didn't pass through due process
Culture / Re: Emir Sanusi & Bayero's Conflicting Court Orders: A Lawyer's View. by Bunnatex(m): 8:41pm On May 28
I'm no lawyer but I understood that the bill was passed by the legislature and signed into law by the governor.
That would mean that it followed due process. Then why would the judge order that they return to sstatus quo when it means interfering with the duties of the legislature and executive?
Besides same process was used to remove the Emir previously.
At the end it's just politics.

I think that the elementary economics makes this simple. Demand and supply. As a country we demand dollars more than we demand our local currency.

Or should we even talk about our politicians who love to Embezzle in dollars?

Or our import driven economy?

The indices are against the naira.

Invariably attributing it to the work of God.
