Sports / BREAKING: Onyekuru Signs 5-year Contract With Everton by buntercos(m): 12:39pm On Jun 27, 2017 |
Henry Onyekuru has signed a five-year contract with Premier League side Everton, following what has been a sensational transfer window for the striker. A source close to the youngster, who dazzled with Belgian team KAS Eupen last season, told ScoreNigeria.com.ng Onyekuru has signed the dotted lines today in England after a successful medical. “Henry has a five-year deal with Everton after passing medical,” the source informed only SCORENigeria “He is so excited to make this decision. The Premier League is the league on his mind to play in and here he is with Everton.” The source further informed: “He will go on a season’s loan to Anderlecht before he returns to Everton.” That means he will feature in the UEFA Champions League with the Belgian champions. Onyekuru, 20, netted 24 goals last season for KAS Eupen which prompted a rash of clubs including Arsenal, Swansea, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bournemouth, Schalke 04, Borussia Dortmund, West Ham, Nice and PSG to show interest in signing him.

Phones / How To Make Your Battery Android Phone Last Long by buntercos(m): 1:04pm On Apr 12, 2015 |
I just try this on my phone and it work very well so I have it in mind to share it with my nairaland people...when for get about that phone..so check out this tips it mid help u.. 1. Keep the brightness around 35% indoor and around 45% outdoor.. u need to keep on doing it if u r a frequent traveller.... can't help ! This phone has a built in feature to bring the brighness down to 20% automatically at night..during 12 midnight to 6:00 am ! 2. Keep screenlock time very less (I keep 5 sec). 3. Most of us use smartphones for whatsapp and emails. However, you don't need to keep your data/wifi & sync 'on' 24x7. You'd switch it on may be every 30-45 minutes, let the messages/photos/videos download and then again switch it off. Unless, of course your are chatting with someone something important! At night before you go to sleep, switch off wifi/data. 4. Keep bluetooth off, since we hardly use it nowadays. 5. While charging phone, make sure you are using the original charger which comes with the phone. As far as possible, don't use desktop, laptop usb points for charging (charging is slow and chances of virus !). Plug in to three pin socket and let it charge for a minimum 3 hours at a stretch. Charging your phone at one point say untill it shows 60%, then disconnecting and charging again after some time till 100% may give less battery life. Also try to charge for about 15-30 minutes more evenif ur phone shows 100% charged. 6. Keep all vibrates off. 7. Under Settings>>>General>>>Location... keep this 'off'. 8. Don't keep live wallpapers & try to use built in wallpapers with black/dark colours. With all these, I am able to extract 48 hours mimumum from my phone's battery with every charge... Will be happy to know more tips if anyone has... |

Sports / NFF Bye-election To Hold On December 11 by buntercos(m): 9:04pm On Dec 04, 2014 |
The Nigeria Football Federation Electoral Appeals Committee has ordered for fresh election into four executive positions of the NFF to take place on December 11 in Abuja. Chairman of the committee, Barrister Okechukwu Ajunwa announced this after a three-hour ruling at a press conference held at Area 11, Abuja on Thursday after the annulment of the September 30 election held in Warri that brought in Amaju Pinnick. Pinnick and Seyi Akinwumi were consequently directed to stop parading themselves as NFF president and vice president respectively. After declaring the election that produced Pinnick ‘invalid’, Ajunwa said all aspirants that participated in the both disputed elections of August 26 in Abuja and September 30 in Warri will be eligible to contest in the rescheduled election. According to him, the positions to be filled in the bye-election are President, First Vice President, board member South East and Board member North West. The body also insisted that all cleared candidates willing to re-contest must withdraw their legal matters in court and at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in order to participate in the rescheduled election. The other executive committee members who had their elections nullified were Vice President Seyi Akinwumi, Felix Anyansi representing South East and Rabiu Inuwa representing North West. Upon the verdict of the committee, Anyansi and Inuwa have been disqualified from contesting the bye-election. Goal understands the four contestants – Muazu Suleyman, Sani Fema, Shehu Dikko and Ike Igbokwe, had filed separate appeals which necessitated the annulment of the September 30 election. |
Sports / Keshi Will Stay Says Pinnick by buntercos(m): 4:49pm On Nov 27, 2014 |
President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has confirmed that Stephen Keshi will continue as the coach of the Super Eagles, in a development that will come as a surprise to many. The 44-year-old NFF boss has also confirmed the new set-up of the technical department of the NFF. The embattled NFF boss was speaking about the new NFF technical department that will be led by former Super Eagles coach, Amodu Shuaibu, and confirmed that Keshi will continue as the Super Eagles coach. “We have Shuaibu Amodu as the technical director, he was boss to Keshi. Keshi is the head coach, he has won everything and he is still going to work. ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha is the head of the technical study group and Felix Anyansi-Agwu, one of the most successful club administrators in the country today, is the head of the technical committee and with these people I don’t think you can go wrong,” Pinnick told SL10.ng. This comes on the heels of Pinnick absolving the out-of-contract Stephen Keshi of any blames, rather criticizing the players for not having the right ‘attitude’ to qualify the country for the AFCON. But it will come as a bit of surprise also, seeing that Pinnick had earlier sacked Keshi, replacing him with Amodu – albeit on an interim basis – and announcing that a foreign coach would be appointed, before Keshi was believed to have been returned on the orders of President Goodluck Jonathan. |

Romance / 5 Great Ways To Diffuse An Argument. by buntercos(m): 11:04pm On Oct 19, 2014 |
Arguments are part of life. No matter who you are there is no way of avoiding them sooner, or later conflict is going to occur. How we handle them has often been modeled to us by our parents as we grow up. A lot of people deal with conflict in ways that are not healthy, or good for either person. Some resort to knock down, drag out, cutting remarks that are meant to hurt the other person. Often it is to try and regain our pride, and feel better about our selves. They hurt your pride and took a piece of you, now your trying to save face and take it back. Three really helpful rules for dealing with an argument are: 1. Diffuse The Situation Quickly. Diffuse the situation and resolve it as quickly as possible before it escalates. In my relationship we firmly follow the scripture example of not staying angry, or going to bed still mad, we talk it out, and forgive, before going to bed. It is not negotiable we expect it of each other, I refuse to wake up angry and begin another day that way. Eph 4:26-27 “In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” 2. Stick To The Issue. Stick to the issue at hand and deal specifically with that problem only. Resist the urge to bring up old problems, and compound them in, with the new ones. In counselling I used to call it P.H.D. Piling the baggage Higher, and Deeper. Bringing up and throwing the past wrongs into a persons face only makes the problem bigger, and is never helpful. 3. Do Not Retaliate, instead hesitate. Do not resort to retaliating, lashing out, or using cutting remarks. Once that venomous bite has been done it is very hard to repair. The damage is done, and once bitten twice shy. You have hurt them in the hopes of regaining your personal power back, because they hurt you. Instead purposely hesitate, take a minute to think before you speak. 4. Seek to confront and resolve immediately. To resolve the argument address it immediately before it can grow bigger and escalate. Be the peace maker right in the beginning. That requires humility, but is well worth it. Be honest and share with the person what they did wrong. Do not use language that is guaranteed to make them defensive, for example instead of saying something like WHY? or YOU DID THIS, tone it down, and try saying something like WHEN THAT HAPPENED IT BOTHERED ME, CAN WE TALK ABOUT IT, OR HOW CAN WE CHANGE THIS? 5. Forgive the person, or at least be willing to try to forgive. Even if you don’t feel it from the heart at the time say the words, “I forgive you.” Fake it until you feel it, and let it go. Remember if you want God to forgive you, you have to forgive others, or God will not forgive you. That does not mean you put yourself in harms way, or return to a violent partner, it means you forgive from the heart and let go of the anger. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Sports / Iheanacho, Martins And Uche Set For Eaglesreturn by buntercos(m): 11:47am On Oct 19, 2014 |
The quintet of Chinedu Obasi, Haruna Lukman, Kelechi Iheanacho, Obafemi Martins and Ikechukwu Uche are set to be invited for the Super Eagles' last qualifying matches for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations against Congo and South Africa, SL10.ng have been reliably informed. The aforementioned players couldn't get into Stephen Keshi's teams despite their impressive performances for their respective clubs and despite incessant calls to have them included but it seems all five of them will be a part of the team that will announced by interim coach, Amodu Shuaibu for the November fixtures. A list of 24 players is expected to be announced before the end of October and sources have reliably informed SL10.ng that there will be some changes to the teams Nigerians have been used to under Keshi. "Most of the players from Keshi's team will still be there but the likes of Haruna, Obasi, Iheanacho, Martins and Uche will be included provided they aren't injured before the final list is compiled," a reliable NFF source told SL10.ng. If eventually these players are invited, it will sound like a good music to the ears of most Nigerians as they have always clamoured for the invitation of such players. The Super Eagles are third in qualifying group A with four points in as many games, and play Congo and South Africa in their last matches, with Amodu Shuaibu in-charge on an interim basis after Stephen Keshi was asked to step down from his interim role. Keshi has had a running battle with Villarreal striker Ikechukwu Uche hence his continued absence from the Eagles under Keshi, his last appearance being the final of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa. The 'Big Boss' alluded to Obafemi Martins as being too old, while also alluding to Kelechi Iheanacho as being too young. Chinedu Obasi was invited a couple of times but never made the team due to injuries and passport issues, while Haruna Lukman was never given a look in by the 'Big Boss'. |
Sports / Ambrose To Quit The Super Eagles by buntercos(m): 11:28am On Oct 17, 2014 |
According to leaks gathered by SL10.ng, Glasgow Celtic defender Efe Ambrose could be set to end his international career at the age of 25. In a chat with a close friend of his picked up by SL10.ng, the 25 year old while sitting in the stands said he has have enough. "E don do me, (have had enough )" he said in native Nigeria pidgin. Ambrose annoyance we gathered stemmed from the way he was omitted from the match day squad without prior information. "I no get wound oh, infact I just hear for our meeting say,I no go play or dey bench (I'm not injured, got to know I'm not playing during our pre-match team talk.) "For three years have serve this team, I deserve better respect I'm not above being dropped, but not in this way." The former Kaduna United skipper said he is now set to focus on his club career and wish the Super Eagles well as they bid to qualify for the cup of Nations. However, question marks still remain if he will rescind his decision to quit the team following the sacking of Stephen Keshi. A central defender for the Scottish Champions, Ambrose plays as a right back for Nigeria but was dropped, as Keshi preferred Eddy Onazi, primarily a defensive midfielder, ahead of him. Former Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi axed Ambrose and Nosa Igiebor from his side that won 3-1 over Sudan after their 1-0 loss on Sudan in Khartoun. The duo were even not listed on the bench and watched the entire game from the spectator stands. He made his Super Eagles bow in 2010 but was on the fringe, before cementing his spot in the team as first choice right full back in the last two years.

Sports / Keshi To Be Fired On Wednesday by buntercos(m): 3:42pm On Oct 13, 2014 |
A top source at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed to SL10 that interim boss of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi will be axed on Wednesday. The source said regardless of the result against Sudan, the big boss won't continue in his role as Super Eagles coach. “We have resolved, the Sudan game will be his last game in charge of the team,” the source told SL10.ng On the reason why Keshi wasn't fired the night after the loss to Sudan, the present NFF board member said some important people needed to be informed about the board's intention to dispense with the service of the coach. “We had to inform some people to get their approval so we can all be on same page and thankfully they accepted he should be relieved of his role so no going back,” added the source. He also revealed that a new coach, preferably a foreign one will be in place by October. “Hopefully we will get a new coach before the end of October and the general consensus for now is a foreign coach,” concluded the source. Nigeria are bottom of their AFCON 2015 group with one point and Keshi's future has come under scrutiny since Saturday's shock loss to Sudan. |

Sports / Victor Moses Man-of-the- Match by buntercos(m): 2:15am On Aug 28, 2014 |
Assistant manager Mark Bowen believes Stoke can provide the ideal platform for on-loan Chelsea winger Victor Moses to rediscover his talent. The Nigeria international put in a man-of-the- match performance on his Potters debut as Jon Walters (two) and Peter Crouch scored the goals which defeated League Two Portsmouth 3-0 in the Capital One Cup to set up a third-round trip to Sunderland. Moses is on his second loan spell in successive seasons after a less-than-productive campaign at Liverpool but Bowen thinks the Britannia Stadium could be a place for him to reinvigorate himself. "At the moment he is 99 per cent Premier League match fit and he tired a little bit in the second half and we brought him off to protect him," said the Welshman. "With all due respect to Portsmouth he is used to playing against top-class defenders and causing them problems so it was maybe a tad easier for him tonight but he showed what he has got and always had - and he just needs that platform. "Mark (Hughes) wants to give him that chance to get used to playing every week. "When players go a couple of years of not playing every week they have to get used to that monotony of training every day to get ready for the games. "It is no good for a player of his ability to just have cameo performances and hopefully we can give him the platform to do that this year." It was a first defeat of the season for Portsmouth, flying high in League Two, and manager Andy Awford urged his players to take something from the experience. "I thought our lads acquitted themselves well but there was obviously a difference in quality," he said. "We've still lot and you don't like losing. You want to give a good account of yourselves against a well-established Premier League side. "One of the things I've said to the players is remember the losing feeling because we've not had it since I've been here." 1 Like

Sports / Top Ten Football Managers by buntercos(m): 11:44pm On Jan 10, 2014 |
number 10...Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is a great manager as he has really proven himself over the past couple of years with an impressive run with Spanish side Malaga with players such as Santi Cazorla, Julio Baptista, Ruud Van Nistelrooy & Naxto Monreal. When he moved to Manchester City from the La liga side some City fans were doubtful however he is currently 2nd in the league and are breathing down the necks of the current league leaders with a 1 point difference. City's attack has proven to be a force not to be reckoned with as they have scored 4 goals or more on 6 occasions this season and that's just in the league they beat West Ham 6-0 in the League cup final. number 9...Antonio Conte is a brilliant manager on top form. Currently managing Juventus he is top of the league at the moment and he has already won 2 league titles with the club. As a player he has previously played for Juventus and he has been the manager of a number of Serie A sides which included Atalanta. He has also won the Serie B with Bari and the Supercoppia Italiana on 2 occasions with Juventus. This season have only lost 1 of their 18 league games played. number 8...Laurent Blanc by far has the most successful footballing career of all the managers on this list playing for clubs such as Barca, Inter, Marseille & Manchester United and he has won the French league & the Premier League as a player. This doesn't put him in this spot of the list though it's his managerial record that also impresses as he is currently the manager of PSG and is topping the league only losing 1 league game. He has also won the Ligue 1 as a manger whilst at Bordeaux. number 7...Joachim Low is the International manager of Germany and he is the man responsible for turning the national squad into an absolute fortress and possible turning them into one of the best 5 countries in the world in footballing terms. He took them to a win in the 3rd place play off against Portugal in the 2006 World Cup and he was runner up in the 2008 European Championship losing to Spain. He has yet to win anything with Germany however it's only a matter of time. number 6...Jurgen Klopp has really proved himself as a manager. He finished runner up in the Champions League and has really built himself a squad creating it in the similar way to Arsene Wenger would. He essentially has taken players who have that spark and with the right training he has turned them into absolute stars. Despite all his efforts he will find it incredibly difficult winning anything at this time in his country as he is up against the most well put together squad in the world Bayern Munchen. However before this rise of chemistry from the Munich side he has previously won the Bundesliga on two separate occasions. Klopp trumped every other manager in Germany to the German football manager of the year twice in 2011 & 12. number 5...Vicente Del Bosque is the Spanish international manager and will most certainly go into the record books for his accomplishments after winning the European Championship 2008 and the 2010 World Cup all with Spain. He has won the La Liga 7 times 5 as a player and 2 as a manager. Not only has he won the 2 biggest trophies you could possibly win as an International manager he has helped to turn Spain into the strongest International side in the World. number 6...Carlo Ancelotti has had a bit of a different career to most on this list as he hasn't just been at 1 club mainly winning countless numbers of trophies. He has been all over with Juventus, Milan, Chelsea, PSG & currently Real Madrid. He has won the Seria A four times; one with AS Roma, two with Milan & one with Juventus. Whilst at Chelsea he won the 09/10 Premier League. and most recently he has won the 12/13 Ligue 1 with PSG however he is only in his first season with Real Madrid and will have a tough time ahead of him if he wants to finish above FC Barcelona in the league. number 3...Arsene Wenger will be one too remember as he is responsible for the strongest Premier League side ever seen remaining unbeaten throughout a whole season and a fair amount the season after. He is the man responsible for turning young kids such as Cesc Fabregas, Thierry Henry, Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy, Ashley Cole and many other into absolute titans in the footballing world. Arsene Wengers side is currently top of the league table and could contend for the title. He is currently experiencing a trophy drought totaling 10 years and this is mostly the reason why many great player leave Arsenal when they get attention elsewhere. However despite all this he has won 3 league titles which is the second highest amount for one manager in the Premier League. number 2...Guardiola is a World Class managing the 2 biggest clubs in the World. He used to be manager for FC Barcelona for 4 years but he is not at Bayern Munchen. In 4 seasons at FC Barcelona he won 3 La Liga titles. Guardiola is in his first year of the German side and he is currently top of the league and keeping the records coming. number 1...Jose Mourinho is the best Manager still coaching today and is questionably the second best manager in the past 10 years. He has coached many side such as Benfica, Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid and he is now in his second spell with Chelsea. Mourinho is known for being really big headed and unfortunately for his competitors he has every reason to be with 2 Portuguese league titles, 2 PL titles, 2 Seria A titles, 1 La Liga title & 2 Champions League titles under his belt.

Phones / Nokia Phone Runs On Android Kitkat by buntercos(m): 3:42am On Jan 09, 2014 |
The rumors of the notorious Nokia Normandy prototype running on Android has been around for quite some time. Even though the company's Devices and Services division is soon to be acquired by Microsoft, it seems the Normandy rumors continue, suggesting the device might come to live against all odds. Last month we learned the codenamed Normandy device is supposed to be an entry-level Android smartphone. The leaks suggested Normandy will be reusing the iconic Lumia design and will come in a plethora of different colors, just like the affordable Asha and Lumia phones. Today the famous tipster @evleaks has posted renders of Normandy running on Android. We get to see a glimpse of Nokia's launcher, particularly the lockscreen, Viber and Skype apps. Judging by the Normandy's status bar, this should be a dual-SIM phone. Another leaks from today sheds some more light on the alleged Normandy specs. As it turns out someone has put the Normandy through AnTuTu's test, so we can see shttp://cdn.gsmarena.com/vv/newsimg/14/01/nokia-normandy-leak/gsmarena_001.jpgome of its specs. Nokia RM-980 A110 codenamed Normandy reported featuring a 4" FWVGA display (480x854 pixels), a 5MP rear camera and runs on Android 4.4.1 KitKat. Naturally, the chipset powering the Normandy is Qualcomm Snapdragon. If Normandy is similar to the previously tipped "Mountain View" Android prototype, then it might be running (as previously suggested) on the Snapdragon 200 chipset (quad-core Cortex-A5/Adreno 203 or quad-core Cortex-A7/Adreno 302). Some recent rumors suggest the Normandy development is at "full steam ahead" and the smartphone is supposed to hit the shelves this year. Some go even further saying the team working on Normandy (Project N) will stay at Nokia and continue to work on it alongside other devices (such as the alleged Nokia smartwatch) after Microsoft's acquisition is completed. Now is a good time to take a breath, lower your enthusiasm and take all this with a huge pinch of salt. The entire batch of rumors sounds way too good to be true. Maybe there is something going on at Nokia and some of this is happening, but maybe there isn't. In fact there is a good chance somewhere on the way a tiny rumor has completely gone out of control feeding on the hopes of the loyal fans.

Sports / Mourinho The Best Manager...mikel. by buntercos(m): 3:44am On Jan 07, 2014 |
JOHN OBI MIKEL claims that he is scared to score goals – thanks to boss Jose Mourinho. MIkel claims he doesn't score more goals because he is too afraid to venture up the pitch. Mikel grabbed a rare goal in Chelsea’s 2-0 FA Cup win at Derby on Sunday. But he claims his woeful tally of just four strikes in 300 appearances is because of threats from Mourinho if he abandons his ANCHORMAN role for goal glory. The Nigerian star broke the deadlock with a header to steer Chelsea safely into the fourth round. Mourinho took the mickey out of him afterwards, saying he did not realise Mikel was such a prolific force in front of goal. But the 26-year-old revealed he only pops up once in a blue moon for a reason. Mikel said: “I wish I could score every time. But the most important thing the manager wants me to do is to keep the shape for the team. “He gets more upset when we concede a goal on the counter-attack. That is when he gets really, really mad. “He’s always wanted me to be there in front of the back four and I’ve always done that job.” That does not mean he had to hold back on celebrating his milestone. “I was told it was my 300th game just before the match,” he said. “My job was to get on the first post for the free-kicks – and that is exactly what I did. “I just want to keep going and enjoy my time here. I will just keep doing what I do and help this team be successful and win trophies.” Mourinho is not a happy bunny if his defence is left unprotected . Mikel believes there is no better man than Mourinho to be in the saddle as the season starts to get serious. He added: “He is the best, without a shadow of doubt. He is just great. He is great around the dressing room and around the training ground. “We have the best manager. He is unbelievable. “He knows how to communicate with the players. He always wants us to play a certain way and give 110 per cent. If you don’t, you’re out.” That is why Mikel feels Chelsea can still make a telling push in the title race. The Blues are currently third, just two points below leaders Arsenal. “People say that Chelsea always come out very strong in the second half of the season and it just shows the mentality we have,” he added. “Players then believe we can go on and beat anyone. “If you don’t play for Chelsea, you don’t know what trophies mean to this club.
