Oh shut it tramp ! You might have an affiliation with mediocrity but I don't .So don't disturb my mention again. There should be no constructive criticism with this embarrassment to literature .

Who is this dumb dumb spitting trash all over poetry?
Is it attention you seek or you are just plain silly?

Can you see the one who told another person to stop writing poetry because he didn't write a sonnet or an ode?

When I saw you trying to critique other people's works in your rude and arrogance-filled style, I thought you would be able to write poetry without flaws. You're a big joke! You don't even know how to punctuate correctly.

You can't spell shrieking correctly.

You can't even spell encountered correctly.

You don't even know how to spell thorns.

You can't spell untattered correctly.

You can't spell tear-filled without error.

You don't even know when to use the comma or the full stop, or where to even place them.

You've been jumping around all day and you don't even know the difference between 'is' and 'it is'.

I'd severely punish my 12 year old brother for these mistakes. You should just stop trying to write poetry already. You won't get anywhere for all great poets were known with the most extreme of humility. You're an embarrassment to poetry and all the poets of the world; the living and the dead of them, if this is all you can offer. I can already see Robert Frost covering his face in shame for this balderdash you just posted.

The dude just had to open his incinerator. Damn!

Poems For Review / Re: The Roast: An NPC Initiative. by Buqqui: 1:29pm On Oct 05, 2015
During my early years of sojourn on the internet,
As I to and fro the World Wide Web
I stumbled upon a castle called Nairaland
So impressed by the work of the Architect-Seun Osewa
I decided to pitch my tent thereby!

As I peruse the front page for captivating news'
Here comes an attention catching topic'
"Poetry Class for Begginers"
With enthusiasm I signed up,
A platform to finally achieve My dream,
Alas! become a poet.

In rubbing mind with great minds,
The likes of Ray,Laykorn, Everest,Oma4U'
Fhysx was made fit!

Firestar's rebelling on papyrus really got me thinking.
CCM_Poet's inking trickles me.

Yusjet, Donifez, Olumide amidst otherS,
All kept the ship from sinking when the tides arouse.
Light Mark's dedication to the course amazes me.

Texanomaly, omo Oyinbo to n so pidgin.
Great friends like Adenike,Bolakale and others
Y'all made the ride worth it!

Great memories still rings,
Will the light be douse?
And the ship be sunk?
Johnbright, Youpele52,Mrsealiners,Vickie,Emaculate Ife
and other giants, Where art thou?
My brothers in ink I AWAIT YOUR ROUSE!

Understatement is the purposeful use of language that downplays a situation, as in Mark Twain's statement, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." A familiar example in poetry occurs at the end of Frost's "Fire and Ice": "…if it had to perish twice,/I think I know enough of hate/To say that for destruction ice/Is also great/And would suffice." When Mercutio is dying in Romeo and Juliet, he uses understatement in speaking of his mortal wound: "… ‘tis not so deep as
a well, nor so wide as a church door, but ‘tis enough, ‘twill serve."

Metaphor states that one thing is something else. It is a comparison, but does NOT use like or as to make the comparison.
Example: Her hair is silk. Hair and silk are being compared.
Poems For Review / Re: Poetry Classes For Beginners - NPC (Signup Thread) by Buqqui: 9:48pm On Jan 11, 2015
Simile is a comparison using like or as. It usually compares two unlike objects.
Example: His feet are as big as boats. Feet and boats are being compared.

Rhythm is when the arrangement of words creates an audible pattern or beat when read out loud. A good way to check to see if a passage of text is using rhythm is to just hum the sounds that the words make rather than clearly pronouncing them. If you can hear a song or identify a form in the sounds, then the text is rhythmic.
There once was a guy from Chicago / Who drank away all of his problems.
I know it is wet and the sun is not sunny / but we can have lots of good fun that is funny.
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

Instead of just reading these examples, trying humming them. Do you hear how they sort of bounce? This is a rhythm.
