Politics / Re: Did Poverty In Anambra Rise While Peter Obi Was Governor? - Fact Check by Calmdexter: 8:58am On Nov 16, 2022
Aufbauh:
Do we really need fact check on Soludo's statement?
Who else should know more about Obi's performance and records in office than his brother/successor,an erudite professor of economics with higher intellect & capacity.

Even Obi himself can't disprove the fact of the matter as he was made to be humbled by Soludo's statement of fact.

I reteirate that Obi is a packaged scam and sham that shouldn't be given an opportunity to govern a complex country like nigeria with hydra-headed challenges in our desperate quest for a 'New Nigeria'.
Nigeria is beyond Obi's capacity, competence and scope in all ramifications.

God bless you!!!

Family / Re: I Want To Report My Mum To Human Rights For Child Abuse by Calmdexter: 6:04pm On Nov 09, 2022
Deborah200299:
Good morning everyone, I want to report my mum for abusing my 12 years old step sister both physical, verbal and emotional and I don't like it because she didn't ask to be born from a married man. My dad caused it and she should abuse him not her.

I don't even know why she is treating the dog who cheated on her nicely while the innocent girl is suffering for his mistakes. My younger brothers 13 and 15 are also copying her and they have started to abuse her too.

Tears has become her foods and I am tired of my mum abusing the innocent girl. Yesterday, she strangled her just because she didn't wash my younger brother white jeans properly and I lost respect for her. I have insulted her for the first time in my life even though she hit me but I don't care I have to save my sister. She is my birth mother but I will not support her. I don't care if she rots in jail because she doesn't deserve the title mum.

If you know any human rights in Uyo please let me know.

You are a good person! May you also find helpers that will speak up for you

Thank you so much for your response and I appreciate it, yes the 20m was in my account and I try to avoid lumpsum as much as possible, am going for a master's program in U.Windsor, and I didn't make any tuition payment but am about to do that today.

Is it a one year course or two?

Thank you for your responds, my brother is my sponsor, I think maybe I should make payment for my tuition fee, but should that payment be from my account or my brother's account?

Few questions;

1. Was the 20M cash in your account?

2: was there a lumpsum not explained?

3. How many years course are you going for?

4. Have you made any tuition payment?

Sorry, I'm not willing to engage on that level. You can share *only* the paragraph you wrote about this UAE issue on this thread. I will review and share my feedback.

I think you need to contact an immigration lawyer though. Your case is very complicated. You were deported from the UAE last year and now you're applying for a student visa to Canada. I wonder if the visa officer will question your intentions.

And also, we're still not 100% sure of whether you were deported or not. We only know that they issued an immigration ban, but is that ban only for you specifically? I read that they banned visas for Nigerians totally or as a whole -- is this what they're referring to as your immigration ban?

If you're aiming for January 2023, I don't think you have enough time. It is taking people here 3 to 4 months to get their visa. And it sometimes takes weeks to get their passports stamped.

I have engaged the services of a lawyer to appeal against the ban. The ban is peculiar to me not Nigerians generally. Then I want to apply for the visa with the lawyer from the letter and the decision from the UAE government.

As for my application, I intend to use NSE for the application as I have all the requirements.

If you applied for police clearance and it was denied because of this deportation ban it means its updated on their immigration website which IRCC can easily have access to meaning that your chances are slim , if you want to gamble its best you look for schools that you don't need to pay schools but only application fee and be ready to be able to endure such in case it doesn't go your way then , since its not a criminal deportation issue due well to explain that it was a clamp down on Nigerians living in Dubai as at the time of the deportation , try and put screenshots of the news then by getting the images with such headline from the net as you do all this make sure that truly you were not in any way deported for a particular crime but due to the clamp down that happened then , then add all the necessary documents and explain reasons for your study .
Finally pray and hope for the best , sometimes most difficult situations need 1% luck and in this case its possible

Thanks for your honest reply. It was indeed a clamp down on Africans generally like you mentioned and I will attach the news media article like you suggested.

I will also attach letters from my lawyers explaining what happened.

I will appreciate if you can help review the SOP I have written.

I know there are others in this situation keeping quiet and. Not talking or probably lying on their application. I will tow the honest line and whatever outcome has been written for me, it shall be.

UAE do not affix deportation Ban on passports, but it's in their electronic file.

So what do you suggest?

I agree to this if there was no documents raised preceding the deportation.

There was no deportation stamp on my passport but I applied for a police report and it was declined saying I have an immigration ban, so I guess that’s deportation uhn?

Predator188 has a very good point. I think it boils down to whether there is any formal record that shows that you were deported. If there is none, you weren't deported at all. You were just asked to leave voluntarily. There's a big difference between leaving voluntarily and being deported.

And claiming that you were deported when you weren't deported is also a form of misrepresentation, so you need to verify this first.

Canada is big on human rights and they don't tolerate human right violations, so you really have nothing to worry about. If you decide to mention this in your SOP or LOE, present a rational explanation. Don't paint UAE in a bad light, and emphasise that you left UAE voluntarily upon their request -- I think doing this will work in your favour.

Thanks for your kind and honest reply.

I have mentioned it on my SOP already. However they are. Few things;

- An inmigration ban followed after we were asked to leave. I knew this cos I asked for a police report and it was declined on the basis that I have an immigration ban. So I guess that qualifies as deportation or No?

- I have applied to have the ban removed by an immigration lawyer in the UAE but it is taking a long time to hear from them. I intend to make the lawyer write a letter. And attach our application to the uae government in the letter. The process is taking a long time and I intend to resume by January (I qualify for NSE application, I have all the documents needed).
Do you advise I wait for the lawyer or just explain in my SOP and attach the lawyers letter by web form later.

- My passport was stamped with the normal exit stamp, no deport stamp on it.

- I intend to attach my residence card which shows the expiry date of 2023

- I have written my SOP but I can subject it to further review. Would you be willing to go through it for me?

The bolded is a typical voluntary departure, since you bought plane ticket at your own expense and left the country though seems an illegal move by authority. visa still valid with no evidence of deportation!
You are not a deportee in that case!

Yes I understand you. While it seems to be a voluntary departure, we were not given any choice or option at all. Buy your flight ticket or remain in the holding facility you were kept.

I am looking for how best to explain this in my SOP for my application. I have curated a list of all the news media that carried the news.

How best can I present this situation in my SOP

IRCC would definitely find out, they will contact UAE's immigration and police for his background check since he submitted his stamped passport pages, so he better disclose any information concerning that.

Exactly why I must not lie about the application. The deportation was illegal. If you go online and search for “uae illegal deportation of Africans, you will see articles on BBC, CNN, etc about it

I have a valid visa which is still valid till next. Year and was working as an engineer. They just raided my building and took the Africans.

I am just concerned about the implications of this after disclosing this to IRCC. I have also used the services of a lawyer in the uae to appeal the ban and then write a letter to the Canadian embassy telling him what happened.

I don’t know if there are other suggestions or if there are people here that have gone through the same thing

But isn't there a possibility of IRCC contacting UAE for his background information because Calmdexter will definitely have to reveal that he was in UAE at some point.

@Calmdexter In addition to stating that you've been deported before, I think you'll have to include an explanation in a LOE.

I think it may have an impact because you overstayed illegally right? If not, why exactly were you deported? It's not adding up... did they really deport you even though you did nothing wrong?

Hi good morning, I did not overstay my visa and yes I was deported for doing nothing.

Infact my visa is still valid till 2023 October. The Dubai government randomly does that and then adds a filmsy charge against the person. You can go on google and search for “use illegally deports Africans, human right”

In my own case, our buildings were raided and all the Africans were taken and deported, no police case, no court case, nothing. Just picked and asked to buy a flight ticket.

Most people this thing happened to are in other countries and didn’t declare they were deported but I don’t want to lie on my application.

Have you had people in this situation before?
