Politics / But Why Did The Army Remove Troops From Dapchi And A Week Later Girls Abducted? by CampuChan: 12:36am On Feb 27, 2018
According to Yobe State governor Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, the abduction was preceded by withdrawal of troops around Dapchi, thereby rendering the area defenceless and paving the way for insurgents to attack and abduct our girls.

Why were the troops withdrawn?
How much did fed govt pay bokoharam to release UNIMAID lecturers?

I took this theory from firefire brilliant analysis.

The Army has drilled a bore hole in Sambisa Forest to enhance water supply to troops and communities in the area as part of efforts to make the forest habitable.

The project, according to Brigadier-Gen. Sani Kukasheka, the Director, Army Public Relations, is also part of the ongoing clearance operation to root out the remnants of Boko Haram insurgents.

Kukasheka said in a statement in Maiduguri that the bore hole was in addition to road rehabilitation projects to facilitate infrastructural development in the forest and adjourning communities.

“The Nigeria army is continuing with its clearance operation against the Boko Haram terrorists and making Sambisa Forest fit for lawful activities,” he said.

“The Nigerian Army is further consolidating on the successes of Operation DEEP PUNCH II by troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, through infrastructural development.

“The army has constructed a borehole at the cleared insurgents’ strong hold ‘Sabil Huda’ camp in Sambisa forest to enhance access to safe drinking water to the troops.
“Apart from reducing logistic effort of conveying water from one point to another by the troops, the water project will also assist the adjoining communities.”

The army had earlier embarked on the of Gwoza to Yamtake to Bita to Tokumbere to Sambisa roads.
The road is expected to open up the forest and link adjourning communities.

Politics / Obasanjo’s Statement: Miyetti Allah Reacts by CampuChan: 10:10am On Jan 25, 2018
Let's hope Miyetti Allah don't increase their spate of killings because of Obj's letter.

Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Nasarawa State chapter has berated former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his statement on the state of the nation.

Obasanjo, who lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari over his gross incompetent to superintend over the affairs of the country, had advised the president against seeking re-election in 2019.

Reacting, MACBAN urged Buhari to ignore the advice of the former President, stressing that Obasanjo was out to replace Buhari with his “cronies.”

Addressing journalists yesterday in Lafia, the state capital, State Chairman of MACBAN, Muhammed Hussaini said Obasanjo had always wanted to control a sitting president.

Hussaini noted that when the former president was unable to control Buhari, he opted to turn against him.

According to Hussaini, “Obasanjo wants to install one of his cronies to be the next President of Nigeria; someone he will be controlling from his bedroom.
“Obasanjo brought Jonathan alongside late President Umaru Yar’adua with the intention to remote-control them and after the demise of Yar’adua, Jonathan defied Obasanjo’s unnecessary interference in his government and he turned against him.”

Joblessness at its peak. If they had a shred of integrity they would have approached their representatives to introduce areas of restructuring but once again they assume Nigeria is a dictatorship where the president can just order reatructure and it is. Politics / Buhari Did Not Appoint Amaechi As Campaign DG – Presidency by CampuChan: 10:45pm On Jan 21, 2018
The presidency has reacted to reports that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi had been appointed as Director-General for President Buhari’s campaign for 2019.

Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, described the reports as mere rumour.
Adesina told State House correspondents in Abuja on Sunday that the president had not decided to run for re-election

He said: “I believe that things like Director-General will come when you have become a candidate. If the president steps into the fray now, he’s an aspirant just like any other aspirant.

“Having a Director-General comes when you become a candidate of the party.’’

On whether Buhari will embrace the Nelson Mandela option of four-year single term, Adesina said it was the constitutional right of the President to run or not to run.
“Of course, this is a democracy. People will always have a right to their opinion. You know one thing about democracy is that there is multiplicity of opinion.

“So, those who believe in the Mandela option, it is their right. And it is also the right of the president to run or not to run. So, you don’t abridge the right of anybody under a democracy.

“You cannot start a race until the whistle is blown. So, when he blows the whistle and say ‘yes, this is my ambition,’ then, the race starts”.

Politics / You Don’t Own Kogi State – Community Leader Warns Gov. Bello Over Cattle Colony by CampuChan: 2:37pm On Jan 18, 2018
A community leader in Kogi State Prince Alhassan Ejike has warned Governor Yahaya Bello not to venture into the establishment of cattle colonies in any part of the State.

Prince Ejike stated this in an interactive session with newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday.
Ejike was reacting to the governor’s insistence on keying into cattle colony proposal of the Federal Government as a solution to the reoccurring clashes between Fulani Herdsmen and farmers.

He said Kogi State doesn’t belong to the governor, adding that Governor Bello must thread softly to avoid any looming disaster that will follow such an open invitation of herdsmen.

“You are not the owner of Kogi and you cannot allocate a land that doesn’t belong to you to foreigners,” he noted.

He also took a swipe at President Buhari who he described as a total failure for not speaking out against the killings in Benue and Taraba States.

Politics / UK Imitates Okorocha, Appoints Tracy Crouch As Minister For Loneliness by CampuChan: 2:55pm On Jan 17, 2018
By Nwafor Sunday
Not less than three months that the Imo state Governor Rochas Okorocha created the Ministry of Happiness and Purpose Fulfilment to address ‘bitterness’ in the state, that the United Kingdom on Wednesday appointed Tracy Crouch ‘Minister for loneliness’ to tackle problems of loneliness affecting millions of people in the country, newsmen report

According to Rochas Okorocha, “the real essence of life is to be happy and to fulfil one’s purpose in life. Government officials are elected to address this. This is the very reason people elect their leaders to guarantee their happiness and purpose fulfilment. “Happiness and Purpose Ministry therefore, is established for the lost time to correct the policy framework to guide Ministries and Department son what they must do to guarantee the citizens happiness and contribute better to the society”, he said. On Uk’s part, Prime Minister Theresa May said “For far too many people, loneliness is the sad reality of modern life. “I want to confront this challenge for our society and for all of us to take action to address the loneliness endured by the elderly, by carers, by those who have lost loved ones — people who have no one to talk to or share their thoughts and experiences with”, he said. In view of her motion to combat loneliness in the country, Uk today appointed Tracy Crouch, a junior Minister for Sport and Civil Society to take charge of the needs of aged and lonely people in the country. The tweeter handle of @JoCoxFoundation, a foundation that brings together people & organisations to fight for the fairer, kinder & more tolerant world the late Jo Cox MP believed in, made this known to newsmen. The handle reads, “Brilliant news that @tracey_crouch has been appointed Minister for Loneliness. Today we’ll celebrate this huge step forward & tomorrow the hard work begins. We look forward to working together to tackle loneliness in all its forms together “Jo experienced & witnessed loneliness throughout her life especially as a new student at Cambridge University & separated from her sister Kim for first time. She would be delighted by @tracey crouch’s new job as Minister for Loneliness & would be saying ‘let’s get to work!’ In her reaction to the appointment, Tracey Crouch opined that “I am both proud & humbled to be appointed #loneliness minister in order to continue Jo Cox’s great work & deliver recommendations of the @JoCoxFoundation working in partnership across government, business & so many brilliant orgs/charities to combat social isolation & loneliness.”
