Travel / Re: Lagos And Onitsha Top The List Of Built Up Urban Areas In Africa by Candyking12: 4:04pm On Jun 25, 2018
I nervously stand outside your bedroom door, contemplating for a second what I am about to do. I entered your home under false pretences.

I convince you I was stranded and you so generously offer me your guest room for the evening. I wonder if you are always this nice or if, perhaps, you feel for me what I feel for you.
I wonder if your kindness is just because I am your girlfriend’s best friend, or maybe you actually do feel your heartstrings tug when you imagine we will be under the same room together for the night.
I consider knocking. Maybe if I knock and ask for your body politely, you will offer yourself to me. I feel my p#ssy give a little shudder, imagining you teasing it, touching it, fucking me.

I dismiss the idea of knocking and simply open the door. Your bedroom is almost dark. The only source of light is from the moon shining dimly through your window. I can only make out your silhouette on the bed and I can hear your deep, yet gentle breathing as you sleep.
I walk slowly towards the bed. You are lying on your back, your legs sprawl carelessly on the bed. I gently join you in bed. Straddle you so I am resting on your waist. You open your eyes slowly, perhaps wondering where the weight on your body was coming from.

You peer up at me through incompletely opened eyes, watching me curiously as your brain try to make sense of what you are looking at.
You attempt to get up, but I gently push your shoulder so you lay back down. I place my face close to yours and kiss you. You do not kiss me back.

Sports / Brazil Vs Switzerland : Cbfl Complain To FIFA Over Non-use Of VAR Technology by Candyking12: 12:54pm On Jun 19, 2018
Brazil vs Switzerland : Sochi (Russia) – The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has asked FIFA why the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) was not used to review two key decisions they believe hindered their side during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Switzerland.

Brazil’s midfielder Fernandinho (top) and Switzerland’s forward Breel Embolo compete for the ball during the Russia 2018 World Cup Group E football match between Brazil and Switzerland at the Rostov Arena in Rostov-On-Don on June 17, 2018. / AFP PHOTO Brazil players complained long and hard that defender Miranda was pushed by Steven Zuber when he headed home Switzerland’s equaliser early in the second half of their Group E opener on Sunday. They also believe Gabriel Jesus was manhandled inside the penalty area and should have been awarded a spot kick.
Neither incident appeared to be reviewed. “The CBF requires to know from FIFA the reason the technology was not used in key incidents during the game,” the organisation said in a statement. VAR is being used in the World Cup for the first time and, according to FIFA, should only “correct clear and obvious errors and missed incidents in clearly defined match-changing decisions”. Brazil believe the two incidents, neither of which they referred to directly, are covered by that explanation. The technology has been used sparingly in Russia with only one major dispute, a penalty awarded to France against Australia that was initially turned down. The penalty, which was scored by Antoine Griezmann, helped France to a 2-1 victory. (Reuters/NAN)

Politics / Ekweremadu Accuses Presidency Of Persecuting Opposition by Candyking12: 5:52am On Jun 19, 2018
The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government of allegedly persecuting opposition leaders and the leadership of National Assembly for political reasons ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Ekweremadu, who said this in Akure yesterday, alleged that the Executive arm of government was using paraphernalia of office and smear campaign to intimidate opposition leaders in the country.

The Deputy Senate President, who was received by the leadership of the party in the state for the governorship campaign, described the current persecution of the party’s leaders as temporary. He said: “The darkest part of the night is when it is almost dawn. So, we are almost at the day light. Let everybody exercise patience.

“The leaders, including all of us, are facing persecution, smear campaign and threat. I want to tell you that this is our darkest hour in our country as they say.“We want to appeal to everybody that we are democratic and we are going to win in democratic form.“We should eschew bitterness; we should eschew any kind of violence so that our winning will be in PDP way which is peaceful. So, the success of PDP next year will start in Ekiti State. By July 14, we are going to ensure we win the governorship election.

“We are going to thank the South-West because they are leading to this success. After that of Ekiti is Osun State and after Osun by 2019, we will be winning all the way. We thank you for standing by us.”Ekweremadu, who condemned the defection of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko from PDP to Labour Party (LP), said Mimiko could have stayed back in the PDP and help salvage the country but left out of threat.

According to him, Mimiko’s action could be as a result of threat from high quarters.Meanwhile, the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, had stressed earlier that the PDP would return to government both at the national and the South-West levels. Also, the state chairman of the party, Clement Faboyede, assured the leaders that the party would win without the effort of Mimiko, saying the party is more formidable and repositioned to win next year’s general elections in the state.

Politics / Ganduje Absolves Kano Pilgrims Of Alleged Crimes In Saudi Arabia by Candyking12: 5:45am On Jun 19, 2018
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, yesterday, denied the alleged involvement of Kano pilgrims in crimes in Saudi Arabia. He made this known when he visited a construction site at the Saudi consulate in Kano.

Ganduje challenged the indictment by Saudi authorities, insisting a thorough investigation by the state government had proved the pilgrims innocent.Saudi Arabia recently arrested and deported an unspecified number of Nigerians, many of who were alleged to have been Kano pilgrims.

The governor noted that a report by the state’s investigative committee confirmed that the arrested persons who bore Nigerian passports were foreigners who might have obtained the travel document fraudulently.

A consulate staff in Kano, who did not wish to be named, told The Guardian that deportations were a continuous exercise, which the consulate has chosen not to celebrate. He said offenders are simply placed on the next available flight. He said offenses include passport issues, overstaying and tax evasion. He disclosed that drug offenders are not deported but tried and executed. He, however, did not say if any Nigerian had met such fate recently.

A source told The Guardian that given the warm relations between both countries, Nigerian offenders often received less severe sanctions, making the citizens of other African countries claim to be Nigerians. This, according to the source, might explain the spate of deportations. Ganduje applauded the new Saudi visa regime, which entails biometric data capture, stressing that the innovation would curb illegal entry and criminality in the Holy Land.

According to a statement signed by Director General, Media and Publicity to the Kano State government, Mallam Aminu Yasar, Ganduje ordered the reconstruction of the Ahmadu Bello Way, which links the consulate. He said: “The road project will feature facilities like pavements, street lights, culverts and others found in major cities of the world. With huge investment and resources being put in place by the Saudi authorities, it is only necessary to provide a big infrastructure along that road. We feel it is our responsibility to upgrade the road, to facilitate movement, since many visa applicants will be visiting the offices from time to time.”

Responding, the Deputy Consular General, Shiekh Yusuf Al-Ghamidi, said Nigeria is an important associate of the Saudi kingdom and that efforts would be geared toward sustaining relations.

Politics / Sani Seeks National Honour For Yar’adua, Saro Wiwa, Ubani, Others by Candyking12: 5:35am On Jun 19, 2018
Sani seeks national honour for Yar’Adua, Saro Wiwa, Ubani, others
The Senator representing Kaduna central, Shehu Sani, has said that the declaration June 12 as new Democracy Day and posthumous honour for the late Chief Moshood Abiola can only be acceptable if other pro-democracy activists who died for the struggle are regarded as national heroes.

Sani, who spoke to journalists in Kaduna at the weekend, listed those that deserved similar honour bestowed on Abiola, urging President Muhammadu Buhari to accorded them national honour for their struggle towards enthronement of democracy in the country. He said: “President Buhari should move further to honour and apologise on behalf of Nigeria to the families of Ken Saro Wiwa and the Ogoni 8, families of the late General Shehu Musa Yar’ Adua, Chima Ubani and all others who fought and sacrificed there lives for democracy..

“We must move to appreciate and recognise those who fought for freedom and those who fought to bring us to where we are today. The president should move further to instruct the then chairman of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), Prof. Humphrey Nwosu, to formerly declare the winner of June 12, 1999 presidential election so that Abiola will be formerly considered as a former president of this country even though he wasn’t sworn in.”

Buhari, the lawmaker said, “must also appreciate the role played by National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers (NUPENG), Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASAN), Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the media that played great roles in the struggle against military dictatorship and for the emergence of democracy.”

According to Sani, the name of Abiola and June 12 should not simply be recognised by the government, they should be given an eternal place in the history of this country by ensuring that a step is moved further to restructure Nigeria in order to give every citizen a sense of belonging. Government must also address the myriad of our social economic problems in the country today.”

On the posthumous granted Abiola, Sani said it was commendable and unprecedented in the history of the country.“President Buhari’s intervention is a step towards addressing the prolonged injustices that have remained unattended to since the restoration of democracy in Nigeria in 1999. “
