Hello, pls is this applicable for an international student? I'm presently having issues to pay up my 2nd semester school fees as a result of the recent foreign exchange policies back in 9ja.

Or just in case if anyone knows any financing firm that gives out loan to int'l student.

I need your help guys.

Thanks.
AirBay:

Just a note here, it's not possible to use a student loan to make a down payment for a house. The loan is not paid to the student's account, it is paid directly to the school and in batch payments.

What people use for down payment is the grant. The grant depends on your course, family size and your net income from last tax year. I have a friend who got a total grant of $36k (family of
4). The $36k he got included grant from canada govt, province and school grant. His total fees was around $19k for a 2years course. 36k is enough for down payment for a 3bed town house in most of the province except ON. Also this 36k is not paid once, it's in batches across the 2years.

I did a top course last year and got a grant of $6k, it was just a 3months top up course. I was new in canada and have 0 income from previous year, so I qualified for some grants, same for my friend. Best time to get grants is when you're new in canada with small income, so you get a lot of benefits that are for low income earners. Once you start earning above 20k per year, grant go decrease o

If someone collects a loan and does not go to the school, there are implications, such individual must return the full amount that has been paid within 1month I think, this is stated clearly on studentaid Websites.

Also students now have up to 1year grace after the completion of their studies to start payments, in total students have 9years to pay back. Some people pay as low as $50 per month depending on the loan amount.

Good morning guys,

How do I reduce my documents from 12MB to 4MB as required on the old portal (GC Key)?

I have already used IlovePDF to compress it from 16MB.

This is even excluding SOP, MBS and Introduction Letter from the office.

Thanks guys

Abeg which school give you that small tuition fee and how fast is their admission process….

Centennial College. That's just a tuition deposit, not the full tuition. Conestoga offers 1500cad tuition deposit thou. And yes admission is not slow. Not like NBCC. smiley

ShowYoung:

If I understand you: you have NGN 7m: your tuition fee is $18k. Living and miscellaneous expenses are separate.

Have you paid your tuition deposit? How much have you paid? If you have paid tuition deposit and you still have this amount of money remaining, you may be financially sufficient to apply.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I have paid tuition deposit of 2,650CAD and I have N7m left.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Cannymission: 6:26pm On Jun 01, 2022
Good day Gurus.

Pls will N7m be enough to be presented as POF for a year course that cost 18k CAD? Living Expenses and miscellaneous included.

I'm self sponsored.

Or should I try and make it N8m?

Yes, I will be applying as a self sponsor.
Timegi99:
Hope you know you don't have to show the full 2 years tuition as POF, except you are self sponsored. If for example your parents are sponsoring you just need 1 year tuition and some evidence that there would be money again for your 2nd year.

Merry Christmas guys.

Pls can I change my 2 years course to a 1 year course in CENTENNIAL COLLEGE for May 2022 admission, because I just realised I'm going to need a POF of about $56k (N20m range) which I don't think I can't realistically raise.

I realised its better to secure a 2 year admission to get a 3 year PGWP, but POF no dey ground 4 now.

I have received a pre-admission letter (to receive LOA upon payment of deposit fee of $2650). Although I'm still waiting for admission from CONESTOGA COLLEGE.

@viviangogos
@Laborah
@CalcreteJB
and other gurus.

Pls advise.

Thanks for the response.

I am applying to CONESTOGA via the OCAS portal.

I initially submit my WES evaluation. and I now later got a mail .....Please provide all semester marksheets for Yaba College of Technology.
kennyjoy:

Those school you are applying to, did they request for WES ECA for their admission requirement? Or just scanned copy of your original transcript? or the original transcript to be sent to them directly from your school?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Cannymission: 10:50am On Nov 28, 2021
Good day guys,

Pls how do I request for my course by course academic transcript from WES?
I did my WES ECA evaluation in 2019.
And Yabatech wants me to be paying 28k for each transcript I send to all the schools I am applying to.
NB - Yabatech doesn't give out student copies (as I was told).

From personal experience, CENTENNIAL COLLEGE does not accept HND Lower Credit. Don't waste your $100 Application Fee. cc. @inntu

Most schools application fee is no refundable, you can find out from them about it, but lets us keep an open mind you might find a course that interests you apart from the one that is full now.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Cannymission: 2:59pm On Oct 22, 2021
Thanks a lot. Is the 100CAD gone if I can't see another course of interest to me? September Admission have not begin yet.

Bobomaigida:

The school has reached full capacity for the programme for that start date, you can look for another school or another start date if you are interested in the school, this should not bother you too much. There are a lot of choices

ok. I just checked the school website few mins ago. Its now closed. But I tried to submit the form 3 days ago.

Cannymission:
Hi Gurus in the house,

So I made a decision to apply for Strategic Global Mgt in CONESTOGA COLLGE, After paying 100CAD application fee via https://international.ontariocolleges.ca

A pop up message came that my choice of course is no longer available. Meanwhile, it is very much available on the school's website for May 2022 (which I also selected on the application portal)

What do I do?

I have mailed the international admission section of the college, got an auto message that I will be replied in 4 - 5 working days.

Both schools are in Ontario, so they might have the same community of Nigerians, but you can put their names on the search bar here and you will get people who have done something with the schools and reach out to the individuals directly and ask your questions. [/quote]

Hello guys, I have been trying to compare between CENTENNIAL COLLEGE vs CONESTOGA College for a 2-year Post Graduate Degree.

But not too much available information on Youtube and Google especially from Nigerian students.

Guys, please help me with a decision - Nigeria community, School-life-work balance, PR support, etc.

Thanks

Hi

Would only be able to answer your no. 1 & 2 questions. Await response to your other question.

Don't know if you can go for an MBA cos you are not a Bachelor degree holder (Even with your work experience) . Do await the response of the gurus, and other members of this platform

Based on your Civil Servant job in the Taxation department, there are lots of ACCOUNTING in TAXATION, so you might want to check for Accounting Graduate Programs. Also check Business, Economics, Financial Planning related graduate programs. If you google TAXATION and the above mentioned programs, you gonna discover they relate well with each other.

Do your research on the following PG.CERT/Post Degree programs, check the program overview, course curriculum (course outline of the program) admission intakes, tuition amount for international students etc. then apply for the one that suites you based on your academic background and work experience

Thank you gracedson.
IN MY OPINION :
Section 1 has a lot of options, just make research

Section 2: Personally, I would suggest you go for “Business General” or “International Business” course, any course that sha get ‘business’ in it sha
Okay
Section 3: Speaking from my experience, I am a self sponsored applicant, I submitted 3 months accounts statement, but I have done 25m NGN transactions within that months and I had 10m NGN available balance in my account. Also I have paid my full year tuition fee $16k and I included it in my SOP.

My brother, there are no blue print to this Canada ‘wahala and process’ .
But just put your mind say you dey enter Canada and everything go work, we go tackle them here and make everything work. I take everybody on this platform as my Family ooo,

I love you all.

Guys.
Great job here.
God bless you all.

I NEED YOUR HELP!

1. Which schools would you recommend for a civil servant with 10years experience in Taxation? (Age 37)
Colleges or Universities?

2. Graduating with HND(lower credit) Business Administration in 2008, what course(s) would you recommend I opt for?

3. Proposing to be a self sponsored applicant, how much would be you think should be sufficient as a bank balance?

Thank you guys.
