My mum submitted her first visa application in October but got denied based on “Bank Statements Transaction Lacks Credibility”. However, to be honest, We did deposit a lump sum into her account from different sources which totaled 1.2 or thereabout.

A week after her first application was denied, we submitted it again without the inclusion of her bank statement but instead, with mine as her sponsor. My balance was extremely heavy with good activity on the account. This morning, she got her 4 months multiple entry visa.

Note: if you’re sponsoring any family member, ensure to include your birth certificate or an affidavit.

Not necessary but ensure you get a letter of introduction from the company also stating that they are paying for the trip expense (preferably on the company letter head).

It's not a biggie to present your statement of account too if it is sufficiently funded.

VERY NECESSARY

My people, is it compulsory to include South African Airways as the proposed flight itinerary for their Visa?

The price is higher compared to Ethiopian Airways.

Your response is highly solicited on this.

Make a reservation on South African Airways. You don’t have to pay for it. You can fly your preferred Airline once the visa is issued. Just to be on a safer side, you should make your reservation on South Africans Airways.

I received a decision letter from SA high commission today after weeks of delay! They wrote "Visa denied because the hotel reservation lacks credibility " however you can write rep letter or appeal at VFS center in less than ten days of this receipt!
Has anyone experience this before? Or what do you suggest I should do on this thanks.

Just reapply and make sure you pay for your hotel this time. Don’t even bother to appeal. Apparently, your hotel reservation was canceled by the hotel because you didn’t make payment. Hence the the embassy could not verify your hotel reservation, they decided to deny you. That was a silly mistake though!

backlog?till when are they going to solve this backlog issue so we have to wait forever cuz I'm not sure this is solving very soon from now

They have been able to resolve the Lagos backlog because even first time applications takes less than 2 weeks to be processed now which I think is a good incentive. I think they just need more consulars in order to hasten their process. People dey travel for Nigeria gan

Can one use a bank statement of 16days for submission in lagos ?

Not advisable. I think it should not be less than 14 days.

Just 18th day in Abuja? You’re still on a long thing ooo. If you carefully read through this thread, you will realize the kind of backlog Abuja is experiencing is a spiritual thing. Some people had to wait for almost 4 months.

thanks bro was unsing an agent who took some money from me to get a sponsor who I can use his statement, but I found out he forged a bank statement so I rather use mine with about 800 thousand than to use forged statements cos I think there must be a way they'll verify the statements of account

Ensure to submit verifiable documents. Thanks!

Hello good afternoon. Please I would appreciate if you can answer my question. How were you able to change your volunteer permit and which status do you hold now because I read the volunteer permit can’t be upgraded. Someone wants to help me process the said volunteer permit coz it’s faster hence my questions coz I’m worried. And I doubt I can work with that . I just have a lot of questions on my mind

Good evening madam,

Yes, You cannot extend the validity of your Volunteer Permit. I recently changed my status to a Study Permit. You should apply for a Work permit if you want to seek for a Job. Are there Jobs in SA?

saw that post up and thought it was a joke. It should obviously be a joke, how can they stop issuing visas in Abuja ? Abuja of all places ? I don’t believe that jare.

Bros, From what I have gathered, the cause of delay at Abuja Embassy is backlog. Remember, someone ones mentioned that his daughter got her visa on June 10 in Abuja and the processing time was 6months. Judging by the previous posts, your family’s Visa seem to be the oldest because it’s way over 4months. My wife and kid just submitted in May. Let’s keep waiting for the positive outcome.

Lest I forget bros, make sure you are able to divulge the address of the ‘supposed’ organization you’re volunteering just Incase they ask you. To be honest with you, I’m 60% sure the immigration officer may not even ask you anything hence it’s a volunteer permit. I wish you the best bro!

Brother I am so happy due to your quick response.

You can forward a copy of the Self introduction letter to my email at itedjereg77@gmail.com

And I will contact my employer to write the Self introduction letter. I typed out myself before. He is Located in the USA, I work remotely for him here in Nigeria.

Since he is sponsoring my Flight to South Africa. Will it be best for him to use his Bank Statement.

If Yes, How many months should the bank Statement show.

Thank you so much for the information. I am most grateful.

Sir, If you have A million naira in your account then you do not need a sponsor. Most importantly, do not deposit any large amount into your bank account before you print out your statement because the consular will just deny you on the grounds of “Banks Statement Lacks Credibility”.

However, if you’re using a sponsor ( family member preferably) He/She or the Organization should print a 3 months ( if you’re applying in lagos & 6 months for Abuja) bank statement with reference letter from the bank confirming your sponsor as the sole signatory to the account.

Lastly, take note that your employer will provide you with the ‘INTRODUCTION LETTER’ to Introduce you as their employee and also stating your intended date of departure/return and your salary (optional). The introduction letter must be printed on the company’s letter head A4 paper.

Thanks Sir!

Good Evening guys.

I wish to apply for South Africa Tourist Visa.

I have most of the requirements except a few.

Please do I need a Police clearance and Medical Report as well?

Also do I need to really book and make payment for the flight ticket? I wish to travel with South African Airways.

Is there a minimum amount I must have in my bank account since I am submitting a bank Statement.?

I will be most grateful if my questions are answered.

Thank you all.

1. Police Clearance not needed for a Visitor’s Visa

2. Medical Report? Yes: JUST YELLOW CARD

3. Flight Ticket? Just make a reservation on South African Airways. DO NOT PAY!

4. Bank Statement: A million Naira should do.

I hope this helps! Thanks!

if I stay too long out of SA , they can cancel the visa at port of entry

I was a holder of the said “ Volunteer Permit” for 3 years before I changed status. I can confirm to you that I have stayed outside the Republic for 3 months and 2 months plus on numerous occasions. Did you travel or traveling with an ID card that can confirm that you're truly volunteering with the organization? Another tip, when returning to SA, depart Nigeria on a Saturday so you can arrive SA on Sunday morning. Also, dress formal and be confident. I know their immigration can be tough sometimes! In a Nutshell, You don't need to apply for another Visitors Visa Sir.
