Rohr is extremely daft, subbing Aribo for Musa, when the Super Eagles is thin on midfielders. angry

Sameul Kalu has been subbed in.

Kalu is on the bench but we need a forward turned defender, but we have defenders. Abeg, don't ask me to explain this

This is football anything can happen, didn't minnows Sheriff Tiraspol win Real Madrid at the Bernabeu? You don't have to take chances when your three of your main midfielders won't be around to play. Ndidi, Iwobi and Etebo won't be around, you need to like for like replacements if their are any around.

The our midfield is too thin, Rohr for invite X and Y crowd, una don crawl out of una holes again. Na CAR we dey play make una no forget.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by cc12(m): 11:53pm On Oct 01, 2021
Wrong replacement, Iwobi is the main source of creativity in Nigeria's midfield and he has no replacement currently in the Super Eagles team, the midfield is thin and he's being replaced with a striker. When Obinna Nwobodo or even Kelechi Nwakali could have been called up as a replacement. This is Rohr in his vintage daft mode.

You still can't compare his form then to Musa now.

chrisooblog:
You make a fair point but the fact of the matter is the Yobo of 2014 was already undergoing diminishing returns just like Musa is right now but we still included them for their experience and standing in the team.

If Musa eventually gets his 100 caps I will still salute him because he has been a great servant to Nigerian football. Will I completely say he has nothing left in the tank? Who knows but remember pre-2018 WC Musa was on an awful run of form guy was even playing in the reserves of Leicester City but he turned out being our best player at the world cup in russia.

By current form Musa shouldn't be in the squad but we all know inclusion in national team squads all over the world is not always as straight forward as that.

If he was born in a Spanish speaking country he can use the excuse of the Spanish naming custom where both an individual's surname and mother's maiden name are used in the person's name.

ChrisKels:

No, you are wrong, it is already in the public. He is a public figure, and he is supposed to have his home in order so he doesn't become an object of ridicule. He needs to be reminded. You all be trying to be more Western than the westerners, hence sweeping our customs and traditions under the carpet. When a child is going the wrong way, you ought to give him corrections, then it is left for him to heed or not. He was not born out of wedlock, so it is silly for him to adopt his mother's maiden surname and have his own surname relegated. We believe in "afa m efuna"
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by cc12(m): 4:13pm On Oct 01, 2021
In Yobo's case Nigeria had a dearth of defenders playing at the elite level while in Musa's case Nigeria has a least 6 wingers playing at the elite level in better form than Musa.

Also, you can't compare Yobo's form at that time, he wasn't clubless at point like Musa and he wasn't inactive and match rusty for over 3 months.

chrisooblog:
Was Yobo's own "earned"?

Going into the 2014 WC was Yobo our best defender? Remember at the time Omeruo and Oboabona were our defensive pairing. Keshi even dropped Joseph from the squad for some time until the WC came around so will you say Yobo fraudulently earned his 100 caps?

I'm telling you, if it was by merit, Musa should haven't been called up after the 2019 AFCON, Musa is way past his prime to be earning call ups.

ChrisKels:
In the future, I will remember Musa for his 4goals at the world cup, but I will never celebrate him as someone who managed a century of caps for the eagles. Yobo and Enyema got theirs on merit, Musa is getting his fraudulently, hence, in my book, I can never place him in the same league as those previous two. A century of caps must be earned, and every count of it must be merited otherwise it looses its value. The NFF should stop the history of helping players to fraudulently earn a 100 caps to the detriment of the team. Well, this is Nigeria, a failed state.

ICYMI Shocker: Liverpool's Curtis Jones has Nigerian Heritage

Do you know before now that the talented Central Midfield player, Curtis Jones (20 yrs) has a Nigerian Father?

Nothing much is known about his dad. Only his mum, Sandra comes to mind and is known by the media. Well, Curtis' GF, a British-pakistani revealed on her tiktok that Curtis is indeed of Dual heritage. Curtis is British-Nigerian but I don't know if he strongly identifies with his Naija roots.

So now you know. CURTIS JULIAN JONES is Half British and Half Nigerian. Wonders. grin

That's because Uyo has the best stadium in Nigeria outside of Abuja and has also been the home of the Super Eagles when the stadia at Lagos and Abuja were bad.

Danielnino00:

Why did u stop at Uyo? why not list every major city in the country?

Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by cc12(m): 8:23pm On Sep 18, 2021
Super Eagles shouldn't have a particular stadium as a permanent home, the team should rotate between the Uyo, Lagos and Abuja stadia, that is when the Abuja stadium is completely renovated. No be only Lagos and Abuja get better stadium and no be only those two places be Nigeria.

Danielnino00:

Well..There's no need to rush it..

I just feel that it's about time the super eagles had a more permanent home ground...
Either Lagos or Abuja should be it...

And the government for the love of God,should handover these stadiums to private individuals to manage...
