What many people don’t know about the Canadian system is that as soon as your child is born you can automatically give consent for the Vital Statistics agency to share your information with the Canadian Revenue Agency in order to apply for the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) where you get paid between 500 to 600 CAD for each child depending on their age.
And if your child has any disabilities you can get additional support with the Child Disability Benefit. These are things our government should and can take of but we are where we are.
For those considering Canada, this is one of the many advantages you enjoy

Family / Re: 65-year-old Man Trained His Kids Overseas Abandoned In Nigeria As Wife Travels by CeeCeeWigs: 2:14pm On May 31
I’m so sorry you honestly think it’s because she now has money. With that mentality one will never find love. It’s about how the man treats her behind closed doors. You really think that a woman who is doted upon would leave the man when he needs her most? Women love to be needed. We nuture. It’s our nature.

nedekid:

Oga, it is the reality of life.
This is more with men that are not heavily loaded in their old age and have their kids sustaining them. The wives keep staying with the kids abroad, afterall that is where the sustainance comes from. Most of those wives then see they can get jobs as nannies, care givers etc. The husband is then abandoned in naija.
A wealthy man likely will have his wife with him, they both travel when they wish to ie together, the wife after doing omugwo for 2 weeks is already tired as she is used to been waited on by her workers back home. She has money and the nanny work abroad is not attractive as the money is peanuts.
So many of those old lonely men are in my estate, one the wife just got back from Canada after 1 year, omo, I sorry for the baba.

Travel / Re: Between Brazil, Mexico, Canada And The USA? by CeeCeeWigs: 12:27am On May 30
Choosing the best country to give birth in depends on several factors including healthcare quality, cost, maternity leave policies, legal aspects, and personal preferences. However, in my experience and with what I know now Canada is the best. Why do I say so? Canada is known for its high-quality healthcare system although here may be some out-of-pocket expenses for non-covered services as most costs are covered through the public healthcare system for its citizens and PR. In Canada, birthright citizenship is granted. The child automatically becomes a Canadian citizen if born on Canadian soil. English is the primary language in Canada and the USA unlike the other countries making it easier for those of us from Nigeria to converse in. Canada doesn't have the gun violence issue that is prevalent in the US and has better political stability than Mexico & Brazil

If you have successfully gotten your Canada visa and you are considering giving birth in London Ontario and require accomodation or transportation services you can reach out to me at cee.wigs@gmail.com or +12893410339. London is a slightly smaller city than Toronto but its cheaper if you want to save some money. Nigerian meals are also available. I can pick you up from the Pearson Airport and drop off when you are ready

Dear all, I want to say I've been a silent follower. In fact so silent I didnt realise I was only reading on my guest account and not logged in till i eventually lost access to my account when I wanted to respond on another thread. But I want to say that Nairaland has been super helpful in getting me to successfully have my second child in the US. However, I am now in Canada and I offer accomodation to anyone who is looking to give birth to their child in London Ontario. London is a smaller city than Ontario but more family oriented and cheaper. Giving birth in a different country can at times be overwhelming and expensive as I experienced first hand and I would not like anyone to go through the same challenges I did especially postpartum. Had I known what I know now I would have chosen Canada over US for many reasons. But its not too late. I also offer transportation services for those who need as well as Nigerian meals and baby equipment for rental. Feel free to email me at cee.wigs@gmail.com or call me +12893410339 if you have any questions or enquiries
