He died on Tuesday morning according to a family statement.

He was aged 82.

He was born May 22, 1933.

He was a a former presidential candidate of the All Nigeria People’s Party of Nigeria

Onosode has chaired several private and public sector businesses and initiatives. He was the Chairman of Dunlop Nigeria Plc (1984-2007), a former chairman of Cadbury Nigeria Plc (1977-93), the Presidential Commission on Parastatals (1981), Nigeria LNG Working Committee and Nigeria LNG Limited (1985-90) and the Niger Delta Environmental Survey (since 1995). He is also the Chairman of Zain Nigeria, a GSM telecommunications company, the oldest GSM operator in Nigeria.

Pandemonium broke out at Amaja Community, a border town between Enugu and Benue located in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State over the tragic death of Mr/Mrs Marel Abah,who had their throats slit,while sleeping on September 21.The incident which quickly elicited public outcry was said to have been carried out by yet-to-be identified men,who stormed their residence at about 2.15 am,while it was raining and slashed their throats. The Nigerian Army yesterday alerted the nation that some elders and leaders of Borno state and other States of the North East are working against the resolve by the military and other security agencies to ensure they bring the terrorists activities of Boko Haram group to an end by December this year in accordance with President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive. These persons including top politicians are said to have gone to the extent of employing the services of Marabouts and other unethical means to reverse the gains made so far in the war against insurgency. Consequently, the Army warned that such elders, whose sinister machinations security agencies were aware of, risk arrest and will be dealt with in accordance with the law if caught. A statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman said, “the Nigerian Army wishes to inform the public and send a very strong and serious final warning to some prominent individuals and political groups who hail from Borno State in particular and North East generally , that there is information of plans by some highly placed individuals and political groups to undermine and scuttle the fight against terrorism and insurgency in this country. “The unscrupulous individuals and their cohorts are determined to reverse the gains made and scuttle our efforts of achieving the Presidential directive to defeat Boko Haram terrorists within 3months. “They are enlisting the services of some Non-Governmental Organizations in this grand design. “It has come to our knowledge that they are employing all means to see that our operation does not succeed in order for them to continue to enjoy certain benefits. “It has been revealed that they are employing the services of marabouts and other unethical means in order to frustrate our efforts and the operations in addition to campaigns of calumny. “We are aware of their clandestine meetings and other diabolical efforts to achieve their nefarious aims and this will not be tolerated. “Therefore, such individuals and groups should be warned in unmistakable terms that anyone found will be dealt with accordingly. “People should place the interest of the nation above any personal gain or ambition.”

HOW TO KNOW PURE OR FAKE/ADULTERATED HONEY
1. Water Test: Water can be used to distinguish between pure honey and adulterated ones and it is so simple. Get a glass jar of water or a small pot half full of water. Add the honey into it at one point of the water using a table spoon. If the honey spreads out and dissolves in the water, the honey is not pure. However, if it remains in its pasty form beneath the water while retaining the original colour, the honey is pure.

2. Fire Test:
Once you have gotten your honey, use a small piece of cloth and rub a portion of the honey at the edge of the cloth or you deep the wick of a candle into the honey, light fire over any of the cloth or wick for few seconds. If it does not burn, the honey is not pure as it likely contains water but if the cloth or candle wick burns/catches fire, the honey is definitely pure. You can also use a matchstick as shown below. Put the honey at the middle of the matchstick and light the stick.

3: The Thumb Test:
Any of your right or left thumb can be used. Place a drop of honey on your thumb, if the honey slips or spread easily over your thumb, the honey is not pure but it it stays and still forms the drop on your thumb then the honey is pure.While it might be a bit difficult to carry out thefire and water testmethod at the place of purchase, the thumb test can help you.

4: The Tissue Paper or Serviette Test
Place a paper towel or serviette paper on a table and add few drops of the honey on it. If it absolves the honey, the honey is not pure but ifit does not, and the honey stays longer on the paper then it is pure.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Many people are quick to believe the claim that ants do not go near pure honey. The veracity of this statement does not exist. Ants go after anything that is sweet and taste good. From bread to rice ants go after them talk less of honey. Other methods that can be used to identify pure honey are requesting to taste and checking the consistency (thickness) of the honey. Usually pure honey is not thin in consistency. Although,these methods cannot guarantee that you are buying 100% pure honey, but they help – manufacturers of adulterated honey have developed ways making their honey appear pure.It is advisable to use a combination of the above mentioned methods to ascertain if truly your honey is pure.
To reduce your chances of obtaining adulterated honey, you might want to purchase them at a honey farm, in towns that are known for honey production or supermarkets that have very huge reputation in selling quality products. These factors will really help you.
