Someone should help a brother on the inquiry below

Good Day Gurus.

I need your advice on behalf of my brother. He has B. Eng (Mechanical Engineering) which he obtained in 2012 at 2:2 level. He has never worked for someone since he graduated, rather he has been into private business since then.

He is now planning to further his studies in Canada with interest in Welding and Fabrication, in one of the colleges, at Diploma level. I am afraid that this may not fly for the purpose of obtaining SP, considering the 9 years study gap and current occupation. I want to advice him to try PG in Global Business.

I need advice on the best route he should pursue.

Regards[/quote]

Finally, the eagle has landed. Glory be to the Most High and thanks to all the gurus in the house.

My long story goes thus;

I secured undergraduate admissions in Brandon University, University of Winnipeg and University of Manitoba but decided to apply for SP with University of Winnipeg admission letter. The timelines were as follows;

Submitted application - February 24, 2021
Submission confirmation - February 24, 2021
Biometric Request Letter - February 25, 2021
NSE Request - March 2, 2021
Biometric done and updated - March 5, 2021

I decided to go through the normal route by neglecting the NSE request. However, on 15/03/2021, I felt I should give IELTS a trial and enrolled for academic version. I also raised webform requesting to be given till 15/04/2021 to submit the IELTS result. Note that the NSE was to expire on 01/04/2021. To the glory of God, the result was exceptional LRSW- 8.5, 8.5, 8, 6.5 and I was able upload on 13/04/2021 as it appeared that they approved the extension request, though no communication to that effect.

After writing IELTS, I decided to apply to Memorial University Newfoundland since it was (IELTS) one of the requirements. The process of securing the admission was a bit rigorous but I persevered until May 31 when the final admission was given to me. With the new admission letter, I requested to change my DLI.

Upfront Medical was done and updated on May 19, 2021.

Meanwhile, I did not know that I was supposed to resubmit the application after uploading Mybank Statement and IELTS result. The status was still showing as 'Your action is Required' from 02/03/2021 when NSE request was sent till 15/06/2021 when I discovered this and resubmitted the application. I believe some people are also having similar problem.

On 17/06/2021, I received a request to complete the Custodianship form. Note that the Custodianship is required for applicant below 17years. Although, I was 16 as at 24/02/2021 when the application was submitted, I stated that I would have been 17 by September since my birthday was in June 2021 but apparently, they did not accept this submission. I was given one month to submit which expired on 17/07/2021. I was able to meet the deadline.

PPR finally showed on July 28, 2021

One remarkable thing is that I did not submit SOP since it was not stated as one of the mandatory documents and I hadn't joined this forum as at the time of application. Documents submitted include-
Father's land document
Father's salary account (Banker)
Investment documents (shares)
Others were as requested in the application portal

Please connect if you are going to MUN this fall

I submitted my document April 27th
NSE request dropped may 7th, I ignored it
No update till now
I am a bit concerned about my current status still displaying YOUR ACTION IS REQUIRED please do I need to tell them to continue with normal route ?
Or is that how my application status will be till they request for medical, please I need answers on this

I had the same problem for the application i submitted on 24 FEB only to find out just yesterday that I needed to resubmit the application by clicking 'next' on the page where I was supposed to uploaded my Ielts result and my bank statement. Apparently, no action was taken on the application because of that. My advise, go to the page, read the instruction on top and resubmit the application,. The status will immediately change to submitted

I have sent a scanned copy of my original NECO result through email. Thanks so much for your response. Please have you been offered admission (or are you a student already)? I want to know how many months they take for admission decisions.

I was offered Provisional Admission two weeks ago and final admission landed on last Friday after they received the transcript from WAEC

Please if you're in MUN (or have applied to MUN in the past), especially for undergraduate studies, how did you send your documents (WAEC/NECO)? Is it through courier or will admission be given by uploading a scanned copy of the original WAEC or NECO result or do I have to physically send them a physical copy of my NECO result (and any other document required). Please I will appreciate prompt response as I've applied to MUN for over 2 months now and yet to get any feedback from them. Good morning all

They need a copy of your WAEC or NECO certificate (Not result print out) which can be sent via email or you go to WAEC or NECO office and request for your transcript to be sent directly to MUN. I used UPS and it was received in within one wee.

Best of luck

Thanks. If you have idea of affordable universities, I don't mind

I believe you should be able to get PhD admission with your 1st class in accounting...if you can get full funding, it'll aid your visa approval

Don't worry about the username. It's for father and son. No Contradiction. Thanks anyway for the response

NigPatriot:

Why are you contradicting yourself. From your previous post, you said you're 17 years. Now you say you're 45. When you need assistance, just be truthful about your plight.
However, in answering your question, whoever the 45 year old is. Yes PhD can be done at any age, there's less scrutiny towards attaining a PHD at any age. So yes "the person" has a high chance of getting admission plus funding.

Happy Sunday my people. I need advice for experienced fellows. I would like to know the possibility of securing admission for PHD program in US.
I am about 45years with over 18 years experience in the Banking industry. I have HND in Accounting (Distinction) and PGD/MBA in finance (4.2/5) and later BSc in Accounting (1st Class). I have other professional qualifications

Is it possible to secure PHD admission in Accounting or Finance with MBA? Considering my age and work experience, can get a scholarship? I would equally appreciate suggestions on universities with affordable tuition and possibly scholarship.

Best Regards

Go to the WAEC office with a print out of your result and a passport picture I think. They’ll do it for you. It costs 10 - 15k if I remember correctly. It was a relatively easy process.

I need advise from fellows who have passed through this route. I applied for undergraduate admission in Memorial University newfoundland. I submitted IELTS result, WAEC result print out and WAEC scratch card but they are still asking for photocopy of WAEC certificate (which is not ready) or confirmation from WAEC to be sent via courier. I want to know if WAEC issues such confirmation and the process?

Good morning gurus in the house. I recently got undergraduate admissions in University of Manitoba and Brandon and I intend to appy for the visa this week. I need clarifcations on the following.

1. The schools gave me letter to apply for the visa without paying tuition deposit. Does it matter if I do not pay before applying?
2. Considering that i got the admissions without ielts, can i still apply for the visa through the NSE route.

I am 17 and my father who is a banker is my sponsor. Is there any other thing I need to know.
