Politics / Dollar Exchange Rate For Hajj; Buhari Not Biased by cg053: 9:01am On Aug 07, 2016 |
I'd skip the pleasantries and get right to the point of this. Nigeria is indeed a country of boundless absurdities, most of which were "invented" and found their way to the fore just after the exit of PDP which "ruled" the country for sixteen years uninterrupted. The oddity in the attitude of the average political commentator we see today, especially from those who pitched their tent with PDP in the last election, stem more from the fact they are predominantly Christians and can't seem to stomach the thought of being led by a Muslim. Their party leadership spared no expense in sowing the seed of religious intolerance in the hearts of Nigerians, through their dogged sponsorship of inflammable propaganda, the fruits of which we are reaping today in no small measure. Yesterday, it was reported the Central Bank will be subsidising the dollar for intending Hajj pilgrims, and as expected, mixed, mostly negative, reactions have trailed the announcement and as expected, those people who've sworn to ensure the president is seen by all as a religious bigot have seized the opportunity to spread their propaganda throughout print and electronic media. Time and again, we have seen that no sooner do they launch the attacks than history comes to the rescue of Mr President. One could fault the President on a whole lot of fronts, why not. He's a mare mortal and as such must have his own imperfections. But one thing you certainly can't call the president is "religious bigot". Here are but a few events in the past that shed light on exactly who the religious bigot is between mr President and his accusers: 1. FG Earmarks $11million for Christian pilgrims. The Federal Government has approved $11 million personal travelling allowance at a subsidized exchange rate of N160 per dollar for 13,800 persons participating in this year’s Christian pilgrimage. This was disclosed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, yesterday, in a circular entitled Year 2015 Christian Pilgrima-ge: Purchase of Pilgrims Travelling Allowance . It said: “The Federal Government has approved the purchase of a maximum of $1000 at concessionary rate of N160 to the dollar by each intending pilgrim as personal travel allowance. “Consequently each pilgrim travelling to Israel is entitled to maximum of $750, while those going to Israel/Rome or Greece are entitled to a maximum of $1000.” www.vanguardngr.com/2015/10/fg-approves-11m-for-christian-pilgrims/ This was done less than a year ago. An interesting part is that the maximum amount entitled to each pilgrim is the same as what we have today- $1000 and at a lower rate of N160/dollar since the naira had more value then as opposed of N197/dollar today!! The economy wasn't really faring any better then. Pray tell, where were the voices of these later day activists/economists when this happened??!! 2. Buhari Cancels Govt Delegation to Hajj ABUJA - In his bid to cut cost of governments, President Mohammadu Buhari has announced that there would be no federal government delegation for this year's hajj in Saudi Arabia. He however stated that the government shall play its traditional roles of providing consular, medical and security services to Nigerian pilgrims. With the decision, the government is expected to save about $1 million and N30m in local expenses. www.vanguardngr.com/2015/08/buhari-cancels-govt-delegation-to-hajj-to-save-1m/ Again, to show his "extreme love for Muslims and his disdain for Christians", mr President shelved plans to send a FG delegation to Hajj 2015. We didn't see "Christians" take over cyberspace to "condemn" this extreme demonstration of bigotry by the president. Today, he's done for Muslims what he did for Christians and social media has literally been set on fire!! 3. FG Approves 65% Tax Waiver For Christian Pilgrims. The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Tor Uja says that the Federal Government has approved a 65 per cent tax waiver for pilgrims. Uja made this known when the chaplaincy committee of the National Christian Centre paid him a courtesy visit on Monday in Abuja. He said that the waiver would go a long way to reduce the cost of the October /December pilgrimage. www.nigeriannewspapers.today/2016/08/03/fg-approves-65-tax-waiver-for-christian-pilgrims/ This was done earlier this year under this grim economic atmosphere, yet we never heard as much as a whistle from nobody!! These and many more instances where the FG under President M. Buhari intervened to make things a lot easier for Christian pilgrims never became major talking points- but as soon as anything is done by the president that seem to favour Muslims, who are no less citizens of this country than Christians, it becomes a huge problem- no thanks to religious bigots who think themselves Christians! I have been going to church since I was 3 and been listening to pastors, reverend, bishops, etc, preach the word- never a day have I heard any of them extol hate or bigotry as a virtue! Nowhere in the Bible have I read such (not that I always read the bible anyway). Where then did these Nigerian "christians" propagating this brand of "christianity" where Muslims MUST be hated get their doctrine- PDP constitution?? Myself and many other well meaning Nigerians have been advocating that government completely hands of sponsorship of pilgrimage. Man's relationship with God is their private business and must be treated as such. If one chooses to visit Mecca or Jerusalem or the Bohemian Groove or Okija Shrine to commune with their God, let them sort their expenses out themselves!! If they can't bear the cost, they should sit asses at home and pray- God is omnipresent and can hear them from wherever whenever. PDP "apologised" for their toxic brand of politics the other day- it would do Nigeria a whole lot of good if the party called her members and supporters to order as that "apology" appears not to have registered on their minds. Heating up the polity with religion does no one no good, certainly not a party that seeks to return to the center in 3years time. Had the constituent units of the current governing party conducted themselves in this manner when they were the major opposition parties, imagine what the country would have looked like today. When you set the entire country ablaze, when then would be left to rule over afterwards, her ashes?? Let a word be enough for the wise. Thank you. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Health / Re: Nigerian Muslim Doctors Discover HIV/AIDS Cure by cg053: 9:04am On Jul 22, 2016 |
Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar A Christian friend just sent me the below: University Of Ibadan Doctors Discover Cure For AIDS, Publish In Accredited Scientific Journals - Nigerian physicians and researchers have discovered a tested cure for HIV virus, the cause of AIDS. The team of researchers who found this cure in pilot studies, Dr. Onifade Abdulfattah Adekunle, M.B.B.S., M.S., Ph.D of the Immunology unit, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Jewell AP from India, and Dr. Adedeji WA, converted several patients from an HIV positive status to a negative status in four months after first eliminating most symptoms of AIDS in the first three weeks on the remedy. The cure which is a well known and recognized herb/seed has been promised according to Muslim scripture to “hold a cure to every disease except death,” in a statement credited to Islam’s Prophet, Mohammed(s). The studies below were published in the African Journal Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine and the second study in the Journal of Herbal Medicine.By no coincidence, mainstream media has been silent about these ground-breaking results since it was discovered. The Cure Natural Society reports: Nigella Sativa, also known as “black seed,” is experiencing a boom in popularity as the number of scientific studies affirming its long-supposed benefits are coming to light. Now, a remarkable case study stands to add “HIV treatment” to its list of potential benefits. MUSLIM HADITH Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) said: “Use this Black Seed regularly, because it is a cure for every disease, except death.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] First Study The study, published in the African Journal of Traditional, Complementary, and Alternative Medicine, tells the story of an HIV patient who went into complete remission after black seed treatment. As published in the first study, the patient was treated with Nigella sativa for a period of six months, after which there was no detectable HIV virus or antibodies against HIV in his bloodstream. Further, the HIV stayed gone. The study abstract explains that the patient, who saw an herbalist, was suffering with symptoms common in HIV, including chronic fever, weight loss, lesions, and diarrhea. But the black seed treatment had impressive and near-immediate results. “The patient was commenced on Nigella sativa concoction 10 mls twice daily for 6 months.. He was contacted daily to monitor side-effects and drug efficacy. Fever, diarrhoea and multiple pruritic lesions disappeared on 5th, 7th and 20th day respectively on Nigella sativa therapy. “ On the 187th day, HIV tests came back negative. Further, 24 months after the therapy was stopped, the tests remained negative for HIV and HIV antibodies, researchers, Onifade AA1, Jewell AP, and Adedeji WA published. Abstract contd. Examination revealed moderate weight loss, and the laboratory tests of ELISA (Genscreen) and western blot (new blot 1 & 2) confirmed sero-positivity to HIV infection with pre-treatment viral (HIV-RNA) load and CD4 count of 27,000 copies/ml and CD4 count of 250 cells/ mm(3) respectively. The patient was commenced on Nigella sativa concoction 10 mls twice daily for 6 months.. He was contacted daily to monitor side-effects and drug efficacy. Fever, diarrhoea and multiple pruritic lesions disappeared on 5th, 7th and 20th day respectively on Nigella sativa therapy. The CD4 count decreased to 160 cells/ mm3 despite significant reduction in viral load (≤1000 copies/ml) on 30th day on N. sativa. Repeated EIA and Western blot tests on 187th day on Nigella sativa therapy was sero-negative. The post therapy CD4 count was 650 cells/ mm(3) with undetectable viral (HIV-RNA) load. Generally, HIV is treated with highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART). This conventional therapy is controversial because the side-effects are often far worse than the viral symptoms to begin with. There are indications that the treatment, and not the HIV virus at all, can be blamed for many HIV-credited fatalities. “This case report reflects the fact that there are possible therapeutic agents in Nigella sativa that may effectively control HIV infection,” concluded the study authors, adding HIV treatment to the long list of potential black seed benefits. As we reported a few months ago on the benefits of black seed (Part I and Part II), the seed has been used for centuries as a healing remedy. A few of the known benefits include treatment of: •Various type of cancer •Epilepsy •Type 2 diabetes •MRSA •Brain damage from lead •Asthma •Radiation damage •High blood pressure Nigella sativa can be found online and in health stores under the names black seed and occasionally black cumin. However, because “black cumin” is a common name applied to a completely different seed, make sure the product is labeled as Nigella sativa. Second study As can be seen in the abstract below, in the second study, six patients were converted to a sero-negative status four months post therapy on a special preparation of black seed with honey called α-Zam. Effectiveness of a herbal remedy in six HIV patients in Nigeria Abstract The failure of conventional medicine to cure the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection compels many people living with the virus to seek alternative therapy. This pilot study determined the effectiveness (clinical and laboratory responses) of α-Zam (defined by the herbal therapist as Nigella sativa and honey), which is used by patients seeking herbal remedies for HIV infection in Nigeria. Six patients taking this herbal concoction as an alternative therapy for HIV infection were recruited into the study and monitored for 4 months. All six patients were infected by HIV, as confirmed by Western blot analysis in the nearest teaching hospital, i.e. LAUTECH teaching hospital or Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, before commencing preliminary clinical and laboratory examinations using World Health Organization (WHO) and Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) criteria. The patients were contacted daily and visited regularly after commencement of herbal medications to assess the efficacy (disappearance of presenting signs and symptoms associated with HIV infection), side-effects, drug toxicity, and compliance. The symptoms and signs associated with HIV infection disappeared within 20 days of commencement of herbal therapy with significant difference (p < 0.05) before treatment and at periodic intervals on α-Zam therapy. Body weight increased from an average of 53 ± 2 kg to 63 ± 2 kg, viral load (HIV-RNA) decreased from 42,300 ± 1500 copies/ml to an undetectable level (≤50 copies/ml), and CD4+ count increased from an average of 227 ± 9 to 680 ± 12 mm3/μL at 4 months post-therapy. This study concluded that the herbal remedy (α-Zam) is effective in the treatment of HIV infection based on a significant improvement in both the clinical features and laboratory results of HIV infection. However, a longer follow-up is suggested to ensure that the observed improvement is sustained. In addition, a large population study is needed to confirm our observation in this cohort of people. Several other HIV patients in various countries including the United States have described the same results with the use of Black seed. Scientific Journal |

You have granted me the honor and privilege of talking to you directly, Have you given this privilege to any other person? Allah Ta'ala replied, O!! Moosa during the last period I am going to send an ummat, who will be the Ummat of Mohammed (SAW) with dry lips, parched tongues, emaciated body with eyes sunken deep into their sockets, with livers dry and stomachs suffering the pangs of hunger- will call out to me (in dua) they will be much much closer to me than you O Moosa! while you speak to me there are 70000 veils between you and me but at the time of iftaar there will not be a single veil between me and the fasting Ummati of Mohammed (SAW) O!! Moosa I have taken upon myself the responsibility that at the time of iftaar I will never refuse the dua of a fasting person! Subhan Allah!! Humble Request: Please spread this Hadith as much as possible to your dear ones. Dear Muslim brothers kindly stop doing all activities except DUA at the time of Iftaar because the time during Iftaar is very precious as Almighty Allah very very close[truncated by WhatsApp] 10 Likes 1 Share |

I often heard accident occurred when drivers try to avoid hitting strayed animals or Okada and in the process killing several passengers of their own. They should learn to save their own life and that of their passengers first. |

ARE THE LABOUR AND UNION LEADERS INSENSITIVE? I wonder why only Government workers went on strike over the removal of subsidy whereas the public and private sectors do not participate. I wonder why there is closure of all Government schools where the children of the poor attend whereas the private schools attended by children of the rich open to students. I wonder why all government hospitals and Health Centres which attend to the poor and the vulnerable were forced to close down whereas the private hospitals that were patronized by the rich do not. I wonder why doctors that offered essential services to save live are closed down but the military and police station do not participate. I wonder why all government offices were forced to close down whereas the petrol stations that sell at the disputed price were left to operate freely. It is obvious from the above that the ongoing strike is too callous and highly insensitive to the plight of the poor and the most vulnerable of this country. My Candid Advice To The Labour And Union Leaders That in order that the Union and Labor Leaders will not be seen as being insensitive to the plight of the most vulnerable in the society, the following advice are way out. The Union/Labour Leaders as a matter of urgency should exclude all essential services from the ongoing protest over subsidy removal. To direct the unconditional opening of all public schools, hospital and health centers to ameliorate the suffering of the poor and the most vulnerable in the society. To dialogue with the Federal and State Governments on the upwardly review workers salary. To monitor the use of the subsidy removal proceeds to rehabilitate all dilapidated public infrastructures (Roads, Schools, Airports and Hospitals). Caregiver International |
