A woman has made headlines after she was attacked by an armed robber in a failed operation in Imo state.

According to the woman identified as Mrs. Priscilla Nnabusu, she was approached by the gunman while returning from vigil of women leaders and pastor's wives on Thursday night at the State Headquarters of The Lords Chosen Church in Imo State.

The woman revealed that the young man pointed a gun at her before she confronted him boldy while declaring herself a 'Chosen'. The woman claimed the robber shot the gun exactly at her forehead but the gun did fire.

The hoodlum was alleged to have attacked her with the gun which he used in hitting her after it didn't fire. The suspect was said to have left his gun in the course of the robbery and fled.

Some reporters from different National Dailies in Nigeria accompanied the Church authorities to the Owerri Police Area Command to report the incident, the policeman on duty confirmed that the gun was fired but that for some reasons it refused to respond despite repeated attempts.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the station, Paulinus Asogwa, a Superintendent of the Nigeria Police, commended the Church authorities for not taking the law into their hands by reporting the matter promptly.

A young man based in Warri, Delta state - has got himself trending online after deciding to pull a big prank in a bid to propose to his girlfriend.

The soon-to-be groom identified as Elijah, staged a fake police raid by armed uniformed men who stormed their apartment for an "arrest".

After bringing out the house occupants, the 'police' ordered all of them to kneel down. Her boyfriend who pretended to be assaulted by the police, finally knelt down and proposed to the girl who was very shocked that she had to run away after briefly hugging his friends.

A Nigerian woman has been reportedly arrested in Italy after allegedly attacking a police officer in Trevisto city.

According to reports, the Nigerian woman who was apprehended at the Canova Airport in Trevisto, had allegedly ingested drugs and was taken by the officials to the hospital in a bid to evacuate them.

It was gathered that when the Nigerian woman reached the hospital, she asked to use the bathroom and was escorted by a police officer to watch her.

Moments later, the Nigerian woman allegedly attacked the police officer and took the gun from the holster.

According to the police, the Nigerian suspect tried to shoot the gun but it was on safety and didn't fire. The police officer struggled to collect the gun back with the help of other security agents.

The suspect is currently in police custody.

According to reports, there was choas during match between Green Berets FC (Nigerian Army Team) and Ambassadors FC in the Kaduna FA Cup final as violence broke out when the result didn't go in favour of the army team.

Kaduna side, Green Berets who lost 2-1 to Ambassadors in the final of State FA Cup, will seek a place in the Round of 64 when they face Suleiman Boys from Jigawa State.

Kidnappers on Monday abducted the board chairman of Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Muhammed Mahmood, along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway.

Mr Mahmood was abducted alongside his daughter while travelling from Kaduna to Abuja Monday afternoon while his driver was killed.

They were kidnapped around Katari, a village few kilometres from Zuba, an Abuja suburb.

The spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, Yakubu Sabo, said the force is working on getting more details and would release a statement later on Monday.

A 40 year-old man identified as Deji Adenuga who allegedly burnt a family of nine at Ayeka Igbodigo in Okitipupa Local Government area of Ondo State - has been arrested by the police.

The suspect was arrested at his hideout in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State after he fled Ondo State in order to evade arrest. He was arrested in Ijebu Ode under the bridge, around the bus park.

Adenuga was one of the inmates that escaped at Olokuta prison during the 2013 prison break.

Residents of Igbodigo in Ayeka, Okitipupa, woke up last Tuesday morning to the horrible sight.

While the family members were asleep, Adenuga was reported to have poured petrol around their apartment and set it on fire at 2.00 a.m.

The death toll which was initially five after the attack - rose to eight as three other family members died in the hospital following burn injuries they sustained.

Youths in Cross River state foiled a kidnap attempt of one Mathias Odo who was abducted by unknown gunmen earlier today in Echumofana Ward, Yala local government area.

It was gathered that the kidnappers were chased from Okuku area, when the news of the kidnap got around. Many youths, okada riders, some local vigilantes and several people of goodwill joined in the chase.

The kidnappers finally abandoned their car at Vandikya, by the K/Ala Federal Highway. The pressure from various groups rescued Mathias Odo and restored his freedom and safety.

The Nigeria Police has commenced investigations as the recovered car has been towed to Okuku Police station.

Sadly, a man was killed by the kidnappers. He was shot from behind after overtaking the gunmen with his bike.

The operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit over the weekend arrested 26 dreaded Awawa cult gang in Agege and 64 miscreants at Oshodi.

The Chairman of the Agency, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi disclosed that these 26 dreaded ‘Awawa’ cult gang were arrested during an over-night enforcement operations tagged ‘Operation Restore Sanity to Lagos’ carried out around ‘Isale-oja’, ‘Funmilayo’, ‘ile-pako at Amoo’, ‘Orile by cannal’, ‘Papa-Ashafa’, ‘Dopemu’ and ‘Old Oko-oba’ in Agege.

The Chairman disclosed furher that criminal activities perpetuated by these various cult groups particularly the dreaded ‘Awawa’ cult gang has become a serious threat to lives of residents and innocent members of the public around the area.

He stated that it was an eye-sore seeing these miscreants and cultists robbing, raping and freely smoking Indian hemp with under age boys and girls during day time and at night.

CSP Egbeyemi stated further that another 64 miscreants and hoodlums were arrested during over-night raid around Oshodi.

The Chairman said dangerous weapons and substance suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered from these 64 miscreants which include 3 female teenagers.

These miscreants and hoodlums were those attacking/breaking motorists windscreen and disturbing innocent members of the public by dispossessing them of thier valuables such as phones, wallets and jewelleries around Oshodi.

Over eight persons have been killed and others injured in a fatal accident after a Dangote truck failed its brakes at Jattu junction area of Auchi in Edo state.

The truck which was loaded with bags of cement - was said to have crushed scores of people - killing about 8 on the spot and others seriously injured.

Earlier this month, many trucks belonging to Dangote company were vandalised and destroyed by angry youths after a Dangote truck driver recklessly killed a young Electrical Automobile apprentice at Uromi junction in Agbor kingdom, Delta state.

The mob smashed the windscreens of over 30 Dangote trucks packed along Uromi/ Igbanke.

The police has arrested the suspected murderer of father of former Super Eagles player, Chikelu Iloanyusi. According to reports, the suspect was apprehended on Saturday in Anaku, Anyamelum local government area of Anambra State.

Police spokesperson in the state, Haruna Mohammed, who disclosed this in a statement in Awka, said the suspect, Ikechukwu Emilie, was arrested in his hideout at Anaku following intelligence report.

The statement read, “It would be recalled that sometime in 2014, one Pa Iloanyusi aged 85 years and father of Ex-Super Eagles player Chikelu Iloanyusi was kidnapped and murdered by one Ikechukwu Emilie, a notorious kidnapper terrorizing Anaku and Otoucha axis in Anambra State.

“Suspect was rounded up at Phix motel Abagana where he jumped down from a three storey building with handcuff and escaped in 2014.

“Since then he became elusive and all efforts to get him rearrested was furtile.

“However, on the 27/4/2019, at about 1:30pm, following credible intelligence, Police detectives attached to the Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) arrested the suspect Ikechukwu Emilie ‘m’ aged 30 years in his hideout at Anaku in Anyamelum LGA of Anambra State.”

Here's a picture of the 80-year-old woman who was killed and her two breasts removed by suspected ritual killers in Arigidi-Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The octogenarian identified as Kajusola Mogaji, was found by her neighbours in a pool of blood in her room. The assailants were said to have hit her on the head with an object in the night in her home at Imo quarters in Arigidi-Akoko.

Unfortunately, the other occupants of the house were not around when the incident reportedly happened.

The remains of the 80-year-old victim have since been deposited at the morgue in the State Specialist Hospital, Ikare-Akoko.

The incident occurred barely two weeks after a similar killing in the town involving a 50-year-old woman whose breasts were also removed by suspected ritualists.

Friends and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn the loss of a young lady who passed away yesterday in Ogun state in a case of suspected suicide.

The deceased identified as Adewara Damilola Blessings, a purported student of Ogun State Institute Of Technology, Igbesa, reportedly killed herself by drinking deadly insecticide known as sniper, over a yet-to-be determined issue.

A close friend of the deceased identified as Yetunde Oluwatobi Omidiji, revealed that Damilola left no clue for her friends to know before deciding to take her life in such a dramatic way.

Another friend of the deceased, Mhiz Khadeejah Abiodun, took to Facebook to mourn the death. She wrote;

RIP to my bestie for life, my roomie, gist partner still can't believe you are gone. I can't hold the tears back. It wasn't fair that your life had to end. I will always keep you in my heart. A notorious human trafficker named Abdallah Hidou, better known as Malohiya, is awaiting trial on charges of trafficking African migrants to Italy from Niger. His arrest was the result of a joint African and European police investigation.

Abdallah Hidou who is a local celebrity in Niger and is said to have connections in high places - was caught in late November, after a year-long police investigation supported by the European Union. He is due to make his first court appearance in the coming weeks.

Months of wiretapping and financial tracking revealed that Malohiya was able to access about 250,000 euros ($280,000) a year, deposited in bank accounts in Nigeria, where his network stretched, the police said.

Another smuggler in Agadez told Deutsche Welle (DW) that Malohiya was also active in the sexual trafficking of Nigerian women, who had been forced into prostitution in Niger and then in the south of Libya.

"He had his connection house in Sebha, managed by a Nigerian citizen called Adam 'Ghetto', where migrants were held," the smuggler said, "and he had relations with militiamen running checkpoints between Murzuq and Sebha, in southern Libya."

Three young Nigerian young women whom DW met at a shelter for victims of trafficking in Italy, recounted how they had been in the house of a certain Adam 'Ghetto' in Sebha, from 2015 to 2017. They gave detailed accounts of incidents involving violence and rape.

Following the confessional statement made by a suspected kidnapper identified as Ismaila Raji, a car wash attendant by profession who was nabbed at Adesola area, along Lagos/Ibadan expressway, Ibadan last weekend with a human skeleton, a school has been forced to react.

In Raji's confession, he stated that many of his victims were students of the Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan. Specifically, the seven persons he confessed to have killed so far were mainly students of the school, and there are still some of his colleagues currently hunting for more preys at the school premises.

The school has reacted and announced to the general public that the confessional statement is just a mere sham and deceit as none of its students has been reportedly killed nor missing.

The announcement was made by the school principal, Mr Tope Onipede via a press release on Thursday.

"My attention has been drawn to a recent publication posted to The Lagelu Grammar School Government Board Platform concerning the case of a car wash attendant nabbed with complete human skeleton. The suspect in his confession reportedly revealed that he had killed seven other people So far and that most of the victims were students of Lagelu Grammar School.

"I wish to state unequivocally that there is no iota of truth in the story as no case of missing student(s) or kidnap was reported to the school authority or to any member of staff by the parents/guardian before we went on vacation on Friday, 5th April, 2019. Here are pictures of the gatemen who has been labelled a hero by Nigerians following his selfless gesture towards his community in Birniwa local government area of Jigawa state.

It was gathered that the gateman identified as Musa Usman (in light blue attire) had served his Indian boss, Mr. V. Verghese, for 25 years and he was planning to leave his job to finally spend time with his family in Giljimmi, a Fulani settlement in Jigawa state.

To appreciate Usman’s services, Verghese decided to build a house for him. However, the offer was turned down. Instead, the kind gateman asked his boss to build a borehole for his community because there was shortage of water in his village and people had to go a long distance in search of clean water.

Usman who reportedly lives in a thatched house in his village - is said to have expressed no regret at turning down the offer of a new house just so his people can have clean water to drink.

The corpse of a student of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), who was on Tuesday hacked to death by suspected cultists on the ‘annexe campus’ of the university, has been recovered.

The victim has been identified as Fatherwills Ukpangere, a 300-level student of the Department of Communication Arts.

His body was found behind the Barth Ebong auditorium, where the crime reportedly occurred.

According to a witness, the victim was killed by four students suspected to be members of the Black Axxe cult.

“Four guys walked into that Barth Ebong area, later I heard gunshots which caused everyone around to run for safety. They came out and escaped through the gate unhindered, after the act,” the witness said.

The victim’s body had cuts on the head and body and was taken away by the police.
