tpip: Hello ma. My baby had it too during her first week till about third week. Her paediatrician called it Milia, they are blocked oil glands that will go on their own as their pores open. Hers cleared up without using anything. You can see a paediatrician still to be sure. 1 Like |

FloraEC: Ma, the info in the link/ other medical informed website will educate you better than my summary. I know what you are talking about as my baby also does all TiffanyJ and Kokaiye's baby do. Initially, I was scared and went to hospital about 3times, the paediatrician was the one that put my mind at ease and gave me all info I now pass to this group since the topic came up (browse the symptoms, you'll be convinced). My mother in-law was so certain my baby is colic and was even ready to give her an herbal mixture, it was this that made me push for more info especially because I know some colic children and was certain my baby isn't colic. Just read mama, you'll understand better. Have a nice night 2 Likes |

comtem2011: No ma, its not the same and I know this not only from mine and others experience but also from research and doctor's confirmation. Trust me, you don't want to experience the first 3 or 4 months of a colicky baby's tantrums, its super frustrating. kokaiye: That's not colic, colic is more serious and painful for the child. What you described is all normal . |
Health / Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by ChavivaBrown: 2:06pm On Dec 22, 2019 |
TiffanyJ: No mama, its not colic. Colic is a medical condition that affected babies face when they have intestinal or bowel-related severe pains. Its very normal for them to stretch, grunt, arch their backs and be generally uneasy only in that moment when they are passing gas or trying to poo. And as you said, they'll outgrow it around 3/4 months depending on the child as some take longer to perfect the movement. 1 Like |
Health / Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by ChavivaBrown: 2:00pm On Dec 22, 2019 |
kokaiye: Very normal. They have not gotten a hang of making bowel movement or passing gas either through mouth or anus so it comes with some discomfort and so they get fussy and grunt till it passes. As they grow, they get a great hang of it and fussiness or uneasiness will stop. 3 Likes |

Follyshowbaby: Because I had my doubts about the validity of that claim, o did my own research. The oil won't close the fontanelles quickly, nothing can do that except the nature of God's work which doctors say will be anytime from 18 months and 3years when all fontanelles are completely closed. Oil keeps your baby's hair soft and wet which is a good reason to keep oily as hard and dry isn't a quality anyone should have for their baby's hair. 3 Likes |

kokaiye: Hello Ma, The alcohol, caffeine etc passes from our system after some hours and during that moment, refrain from breastfeeding (pumped milk is a plus in this case). For the episiotomy, you are very right about sitting despite the pain and especially on hard surfaces. Since my last post( 5days ago), I decided to stop the sitz bath and just disinfect with antiseptic water and the tender part that was paining me has stopped completely, like I sit fully now and feel absolutely no pain there again plus the stitched part seems closed and smaller now. I don't think I'll be doing sitz bath again, I'll just keep disinfecting. I attended a wedding party yesterday ... Hallelujah Sorry about your libido mama and I think for yours and Hubby's sake, try to revive it somehow (you can browse). I also felt this way towards the end of preggy and after but now, my mind is actually open to it, just can't do anything till I am 100% sure I'm healed down there. E-hug. 1 Like |

kokaiye: I'm 5weeks postpartum and the episiotomy hasn't healed. I don't see the "you can resume having sex after 6 weeks" happening anytime soon. I find it hard to sit most times and sometimes breastfeed while standing. I really can't wait for it to be healed completely and I sometimes feel like the sitz bath isn't helping it heal fast. Like isn't that area supposed to be dry to aid quick healing? I understand the advantage of disinfecting the area but mehn I'm tired of doing sitz bath morning and night. For the hot water burning of stomach, I stopped my people from doing it for me around my 2nd week because I learnt from a nurse that it affects the elasticity of the stomach skin and I actually noticed this; my lower tummy is now flabby. My tummy isn't yet flat but I use my 3-in-1 postpartum belt everyday and drink brandy very early in the morning ( mother in-law's recommendation ) its reducing slowly tho. God will bless all mothers. |

Good afternoon mamas. Please, what can I use to keep my 5weeks old baby's hair curly and soft? Her hair is quite full and long and I don't want it to get dry and hard. I currently use the palm kernel oil for her body on her hair ( she reacted with rashes on her scalp and face to the Johnson oil I bought for her). 1 Like |

BS! BS! BS! Hello everyone, thank you all for the congratulatory messages. I'll try to make it as short as possible. So, my EDDs were 25th, 17th, 14th and 18th but I put to bed on the 12th of November at 39wks+2days by 4:27pm to a beautiful girl who weighed 3.5kg and gave me 2 internal tears and one external tear the nurse had to give to let my big baby easy passage to her new world but in all I thank God, he already planned everything for ease. So, Tuesday was my antenatal and I didn't want to go, already told my husband that I wouldn't be going because I didn't want to waste the day on just the same visits with nothing different from previous visits because I wasn't having any symptoms of labor and also because the doctor had put me 1 week ahead of my own calculation based on my first ultrasound. This made me think I still have about 2wks to be 40wks. Tuesday morning, my hubby said I should go and I obeyed. On getting to the hospital at 8am, my contraction started getting regular at 20 minutes apart. It was my turn to see the doctor around 11am and while we were talking about my vitals, I only mentioned that I noticed the regular contractions which was already 8mimutes apart at that time. He said he must do a VE which he did with a nurse and discovered I was 4cm dilated with no pain, no water break, no previous bloody discharge until the VE. He told me he can't let me go home that I would most likely put to bed around 4/5pm so I should call someone to bring my bag ( I haven't packed it yet although everything had been bought. We just moved to our new place less than 2wks ago plus I just finished my MBA semester exam and that's why I didn't pack early). Anyway, I called my sister and she packed it, called hubby too. I was placed on oxytocin to hasten everything. I got to 8cm dilation still no pain or any water breakage or anything. The doctor told the nurse to rupture the membrane and then I started feeling labor pain and in about 30 minutes, my baby was out. I was sutured where the nurse cut and it was discovered I had 2 internal cuts cos I was bleeding. All was sutured and I could walk around that same day and was discharged by 10am the next day. Baby, mummy and daddy are all fine. God perfected everything and I give all glory to him. Cappo Jeniluv, BS submitted. Thank you all very much. #TeamNovember #GloriousGod #ItEndedInPraise 49 Likes |

hapiness44: Congratulations ma. Your pregnancy journey will be smooth and delivery will be easy in Jesus name, Amen. FTM here too but 36wks gone. I'll advice you register for antenatal soon so you can be monitored, given your routine drugs and adviced by your doctor(s). You can also browse google for answers to questions of interest as well as ask here as plenty experienced mums are here. Another thing is you can download a pregnancy app that will give you updates, advice, information and general tracking of your pregnancy. Examples are Flo, baby centre and whattoexpect ( these are my top 3). Wish you the best of God in this journey. Cheers 7 Likes |

Tomblessings: Thank God for his blessings and I wish you a smooth pregnancy journey and easy delivery. I stopped using the hospital prescribed routine drugs around 10wks but mainly because I hated the quantity and smell. I switched to Pregnacare (the 6k own ) which doesn't have calcium so I also bought Dr Meyer's Calcium supplement which I have been using since then. You can buy Pregnacare Max ( 10k) and it contains calcium so no need for the extra supplement. Whichever suits you. Miscarriage isn't your portion in Jesus name, Amen. There are many factors to aid the prevention of such, not necessarily routine drugs. Please let your doctor advice you. Wish you the best of God ma. 1 Like |

juola: Hello ma. You can register anytime you want but its usually adviced to do so early so your pregnancy can be monitored by your chosen doctor(s). I registered before I was 8wks. As regards the travelling by road, I really don't know what to advice here other than be careful. I almost miscarried because of stress. Hopefully, other experienced mothers will be able to give better advice. Wish you smooth pregnancy and delivery. 1 Like |

Ayaoye: Ma, God will give unto you another one soonest ( just try) and you don't have to tell your boy "no baby" because there will be a baby soon by his grace. You can take his "I love you" prophetically. It is well with you ma. May God comfort you and yours in Jesus name, Amen. PS: Try to avoid whatever may have caused this eg Stress or anything you discover. I almost miscarried at 7weeks but didn't know I was even pregnant ( although I had been sick for weeks). I was bleeding lightly for days and thought it was my irregular menstrual circle . Coincidentally, I resigned from my work at that time and that's what saved me. A later scan showed subchronic hermatoma and it became an ER thing. In all, let's give thanks to God and just try again. God bless you Ma. 2 Likes |

Good day all. Experienced mamas, please I made some observations that I need clarity on. So, I'm currently 34wks FTM and around 27wks, I noticed 3 new "tummy movements" which baby is still doing till now. 1) A slow pulsing movement that lasts about a minute and then continues. I noticed later that it happens wherever baby's head is at that time and its not hiccups. ( I guessed baby was sucking her finger in those moments) Please, correct me if I'm wrong. 2) Sometimes, my entire belly will vibrate vigorously for about 30 seconds and then stop ( It is described as a seizure-like or shivering movement) Please, what is that? I browsed and many other mums have enquired into it but no one really has a definite answer. Its definitely not hiccups because its not rhythmic and women who claim to have experienced it during pregnancy say their babies are grown and healthy. 3) This one is like a fast pulsing movement and it happens wherever baby's head is too. Like she's shaking/ pushing her entire head while still moving other parts of her body. ( I knew I'm carrying an active baby since the 15th wk when I started feeling movements ) I just wonder what baby is doing. Please, who has or is experiencing such and has answers? Thank you. 2 Likes |

Mummy4life1: When I was 2/3 months preggy, people kept saying I looked 5month. I'm a FTM and currently 34wks with my big belly . As long as baby is fine, I see no problem. Its just our body and bump type. Some show early, some don't. 4 Likes 1 Share |

angeltolly: You can consume as much sharwama as you want . Aside the fact that its a sweet balanced way to consume needed nutrients, the sausage is a good source of protein. We consume sausage a lot in my house. Only thing to be mindful of is that it is not undercooked/ grilled ( let the sharwama seller know). Enjoy yourself |
