Ndaife: Please guys I need ur candid advice on this. I have BSC already in Biochemistry, will like to migrate to Australia to go and study Painting and Decorating in Certificate III &IV, but it's only TAFE that offer these programmes. Please what's my shot to succeed if I apply, considering the fact that I have Bsc already in Biochemistry which isn't related to painting, and also the schools are TAFE and other institutions and not universities. Anticipating your genuine response If you can provide a strong and convincing statement as to why you want to study something totally unrelated to your first degree then you have a shot. These days, they don't even respond to people going for masters in the same field of discipline not to talk of someone derailing completely. You can try applying but please don't put all your eggs in one basket. Australia dey vex for Naija now |

Kindly guide me on what to do because I need to know the outcome of my application whether granted or refused. Thank you all for your anticipated response. From experience, this is not a good sign. They usually behave this way when they want to give you a refusal but just be hopeful and pray you see something different on Monday |

chukzy30: Hello guys. I'm new here. I applied for a diploma course for one year which costs AUD6500 for that one year course. my question now is "if I been given admission with my Coe, would I be rejected at the embassy for applying for just a year course instead of two years? (Because I haven't really seen people on this thread applying for diploma, everyone just applying for two years course at the university)" Plus the fact that my SOA is very intact? To answer your questions, Yes you can be rejected. Nobody is above rejection. It doesn't matter if you are applying for a 3 day course or If Albert Einstein wrote your SOA for you. Just make sure your first degree is related to what you want to study and pray hard that the person handling your visa application likes your face if not, you will be getting a resounding refusal... IamphilVitalis: We all need something special on us and that thing is the grace of the ALMIGHTY GOD in heaven. I remember I once talked about grace of GOD on here and some people said some awkward things to me but I ignored them tho. I discovered that one thing missing is the grace of GOD. australia embassy will exceed 32-50 days in processing your visa which is likely not supposed to happen and not only that but the worst deny you visa only when you do not possess the grace of GOD. my brothers and my sisters, it is impossible for you to have the grace of GOD and australia embassy will exceed 32-50 days before granting you your visa, it is also impossible for you to have the grace of GOD and australia embassy will deny you visa. Tah!, for where that one wan happen when " the exceeding riches of the grace of GOD in His kindness towards us through CHRIST JESUS" is resting on us.it is impossible. The bible says "expectations of the righteous ones cannot be cut off/cut short". so i urge everyone of you to pray seriously for the grace of God on you and on your travel package so that you will receive good news of visa grant. I pray; my LORD JESUS it is written in the word of GOD that " for by grace are we saved through faith; and that not of ourselves: it is the gift of GOD" and so I pray on everyone of us planning to travel to australia that in JESUS name let the riches of the grace of GOD come upon us and speak for us, let everything concerning our dreams to travel to australia turn around for our good, let our visa be granted unto us before 50 days when we apply as it is the australia embassy's time and may we never be denied our visas again through CHRIST JESUS I pray.AMEN. please say amen with me and share your testimony. I totally agree with you Phil and I also think we should also be practical and not rely on faith alone. I personally feel we should start placing a call to them especially those of us that have deferred and have been waiting since May, June and July. Furthermore, 26th of this Month will make it 3 months to our start date in February and I don't think its out of place to call them. Some of us have invested over $12,500 into this and deserve some sort of explanation. If it was free, I wouldn't even bother calling till February Verifying a couple of documents is not rocket science and shouldn't take 6 months neither is reading our statement of purpose to ascertain if we are genuine applicants that want to come and study. I think its high time we put some pressure on them so they can reach a decision because this has taken way more time than it should. Just imagine waiting till February and still getting a big refusal.....U fit run mad 6 Likes 1 Share |

Finally got a response from DIPB today to provide an updated SOA and reference letter from current place of employment. We thank God that someone has actually picked up my file for review. I'm sure it was covered with cobwebs and dust the whole time. How someone can just sit down ontop peoples file since June is unbelievable. I've been praying that anyone sitting ontop my file will purge before Monday and be forced to stand up. Hopefully with more prayers, the grant will come sooner than expected. Everybody should pray.!!!!! 7 Likes |

Sola1010: Aussie visa is now taking 3 to 4 months to get assessed dats jst d new reality, Findings On the basis of all the information available to me, including the documents and information the applicant provided, I find that the criteria for the grant of a Student visa are not met by the applicant. Reasons I have assessed the application and the reasons for my decision are detailed below. A valid application for a Student visa has been made by the applicant. A visa cannot be granted unless the relevant criteria set out in the Migration Act and the Migration Regulations are satisfied. In this case, I am not satisfied that clause 500.212 in Schedule 2 of the Migration Regulations is satisfied. This clause provides that:
Student Visa Processing Centre Department of Immigration and Border Protection The applicant is a 26 year old, Nigerian national, never married, male, who wishes to study Master of Management at La Trobe University. ✃ I note that your parents and siblings will remain in Nigeria while you study in Australia. While you have declared other family members in Nigeria, I find that these ties, of themselves, may not constitute an incentive to return to your home country at the completion of your course. ✃ I have considered your education and employment history as listed in your application documents. You have stated that you completed your Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronic and completed your National Youth services in April 2017 and that you are currently unemployed. ✃ I have considered all the information provided with your visa application. However, given your personal circumstances and the comparatively greater economic opportunities in Australia, I cannot be satisfied that you intend a genuine temporary stay in Australia. I have given regard to the value of the course to the applicant’s future
Student Visa Processing Centre Department of Immigration and Border Protection WEBSITE: www.border.gov.au You did not provide detailed or convincing testimony as to how this Australian Certificate would assist you in achieving this goal or will support career development. Based on the available information I do not find compelling cause for you to travel to Australia at significant expense to pursue the proposed study. Accordingly I find that you were unable to provide details as to how the proposed study would substantively improve your future career prospects and remuneration. The significant cost of the course is unlikely to be offset by the potential income derived by you in your expected employment field. It is therefore unusual that you would seek to study in a course that involves significant financial outlay and international travel. Conclusion After weighing up these factors as a whole, I am not satisfied that the applicant intends genuinely to stay temporarily in Australia. Decision As clause 500.212 is not met by the applicant, I find the criteria for the grant of Student visa are not met by the applicant. Therefore, I refuse the application by the applicant for Student visa So dat is d reason 4 rejection These people just keep dishing out refusals left, right and center.. Its becoming fun for them and I'm sure they are having a laugh doing this. So if you have a B.Sc in one field, you cannot venture into masters in other fields? Where did they expect your parents and siblings to be while you study in Australia, Mars? Are they expecting you to lie about being unemployed? Why do they think this course you want to study won't be beneficial in Nigeria when you return and start working for an oil firm? How these people come to these conclusions is beyond me. I don't think anybody is checking their activities and they just operate the way they like. I'm also thinking your SOP was poorly written but I think you should just take heart and try again 4 Likes |

Its looking like this is the new basis for rejection - Once they can't verify your business or place of work. Its like they are expecting every business to be registered online or have a website for them to visit. As for me, there's more to this amidst the eyes. bestdiddy: Good morning my people
I trust we're all doing well.
Well, i've been pained and terribly heartbroken in recent days. Its really been tough since I got the disappointing news last week, But God has seen me through.
A few of you will probably know me from some of my comments and contributions made here. I just felt I should let you guys in on what has happened so far . . . it may be of help to someone.
Okay . . . I got admission to Deakin University (AL1) for a Masters in Business Analytics program to resume July 31, 2017.
I applied for the visa on June 15, 2017. Documents submitted are as follows:
1. Medicals submitted on June 22, 2017. 2. Academic documents including BSc certificate, WAEC, IELTS. 3. Resume 4. Employment letter dated Dec 15, 2011 evidencing my employment to one of the commercial banks in Nigeria. 5. Promotion letter. 6. Birth Certificate 7. Study Leave letter issued by my Bank 8. Registered Survey and Title documents of my land somewhere here in Lagos. 9. Salary Pay slips. 10. My Tax clearance letter showing my tax payments since I was employed. 11. Sworn Affidavit of sponsorship of my mom 12. My mom's school bank account statement, showing annual inflows of school fees payments.
My mom was my sponsor and she's the owner of a school here in Lagos. I provided incorporation documents, school fees receipts, notarised management account documents showing the revenue and expense profile of the school.
13. Title documents to a property owned by my mom which is rented out as well. 13. Rental receipts and account statement showing receipt of the rent annually. 14. Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Statement.
If I can remember any other one, I will mention.
After the application on June 15th, the following occured.
July 15th . . . . No response yet from DIPB
August 15th . . . . No response. Sent an email and they replied saying the application was still under assessment.
At this point, I and my agent had to defer the admission. Deakin deferred the admission to November 6, 2017 and the new COE was uploaded on the IMMI portal.
September 15th . . . still no positive response. I sent an email and called to speak with the Case Officer. Case Officer said they were still carrying out internal checks.
October 15th . . . Still no response. Application still under assessment.
October 18th . . . I sent a mail informing the DIPB that I had been admitted to a University in the UK for an MBA program and I would appreciate a more detailed update on the application as I still prefer studying in the OZ.
October 20th . . . I got an email asking me to urgently provide a 3months updated employment letter and 3months updated salary payslips.
I immediately obtained the employment letter and payslips from the HR team in my Bank and uploaded same on October 22nd.
October 26th . . . I got an email asking me to provide my bank account statement. The statement was uploaded 4days later.
And Finally, on November 9, 2017 . . . I got a Student Visa Denied Decision Letter via mail. The reasons were stressed in the paragraphs below:
"while you have personal ties in Nigeria in the form of your immediate family, I find that these ties do not, of themselves, constitute a strong incentive to return home when considered against the fact that you are single and lacking strong employment or economic circumstances in Nigeria."
“I find that the course you are seeking to undertake seems inconsistent with your previous academics, but consistent with your employment background. However, as we cannot verify the existence of your employer and employment, I am unable to ascertain your position and cannot determine whether your intended studies will be of benefit to your future employment.
When I saw the above stated reasons, I was shocked and amazed. Tears rolled out of my eyes and I just couldn't comprehend what I was reading. I was at my desk in my office and didnt want to cause a scene, but people around me knew something was wrong. I cried and in my heart, I asked God . . . "but Oh Lord, you know I am employed. I am a full staff of a top commercial bank in Nigeria, and I never lied about my employment . . . neither did I fake any of my documents provided"
Immediately, my mind went to the verification part which made me contact my HR Team to confirm if they received a mail from DIPB and they didnt verify. HR said that they received a mail from the Internal Control of the Bank asking to confirm the authenticity of the updated employment letter which I uploaded on October 20th. They confirmed within 1hour to Internal Control.
I contacted Internal Control and Control said they received the mail from DIPB asking to verify the authenticity of the Updated Employment Letter and the Bank Account Statement. They received the mail by 12.45pm and verified and confirmed to DIPB by 4.30pm same day. I actually saw a copy of the mail . . . The words were . . . "Both the employment letter and account statement are hereby verified authentic and issued by us".
So what went wrong . . . where did I go wrong? . . . why was I denied on the basis of lack of verification of my employment and employer. My employer is a top bank with international presence that Google could easily confirm to them that this bank exists.
Internal Control subsequently sent them a mail attaching my denial letter stating that "our staff just informed us that he was denied on the grounds that he is not a GTE because his employment and employer could not be verified . . . But we confirmed his employment to you on Nov 3, 2017 in the attached mail".
DIPB responded that they acknowledge the mail and a processing officer will take this up, and advised that the applicant contacts his case officer.
I sent a mail subsequently to my case officer, highlighting the reasons and calmly pleaded that they review the decisison because when I got the letter, I had to take it up with my employers thinking they didnt verify my employment to DIPB, but I was informed that indeed my employers did.
I just got a response yesterday from DIPB stating that once a decision is taken, they cant revisit it. They added that they understand how frustrating it is, but they believe no error was made and they suggested that I can always re-apply if I choose to.
Reapplication however involves starting the entire process again because i would have to obtain another COE for a semester next year. Since school fees will increase, Deakin stated I have to provide another Bank account statement and that means the N13million in my account has to sit untouched in the account.
I really cannot go through that pain and stress again because of some other things I cant reveal here.
. . . And there goes my efforts to do my masters in Australia. Funny enough and in all honesty, I actually intended to use the qualifications to get a promotion in my bank but majorly to improve my chances of joining the likes of Mckinsey & Company or Bain & Company. Top consulting firms that recently entered the Nigerian business space. Its always been my dream to consult in such companies and why I will always come back is because I'm an Igbo man and I dabble into a lot of side businesses which I always enjoy doing. So even though there are better opportunities in OZ, I would always come back after my studies to strike deals or set up cross border trades between Nigeria and Oz.
Who am I even trying to convince here sef . . .
Anyways, its happened, I gave it my best shot, I suffered, I toiled and I spent a lot of money, but all I can say is that
. . . the race is not to the swift . . . time and chance happeneth to all men.
Thanks a lot my people, you guys have been awesome and I pray you hopefuls never experience what I went through last week. All the best.
On second thought after reading your story again. You said "October 18th . . . I sent a mail informing the DIPB that I had been admitted to a University in the UK for an MBA program and I would appreciate a more detailed update on the application as I still prefer studying in the OZ." I'm sure this must have pissed them off because I can remember when writing the SOP, they asked if you have done a research into other study options in other countries and why you decided to take Australia instead. These guys are looking for the slightest excuse to deny you visa and you made it easy for them. 2 Likes |

It looks like if you are not married, above the age of 30 and you are not working in a well known company in Nigeria, you won't be granted visa. They probably don't want young, single Nigerian men in their country. E be like say na to marry then apply again oh... so they know you have a wife in Nigeria to come back to. These people no get joy.... If you like submit heaven and earth documents, they just don't like young single men. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be given a visa from all that you have said 1 Like |

chimax1: Congratulations to all grant recipients. Mine is just a question. Is it compulsory for applicants to defer to the next semester before a visa is granted? Every November recipient has deferred their admission from July. Does It mean that visas is not granted immediately irrespective of the assessment level? Is there a way to facilitate the process or a time when visas are granted more. To answer your question, I don't think its compulsory for applicants to defer their admission until the resumption date has passed. Just make sure you have submitted your application 45 days before your start date. I feel the reason July intake had this problem was because of the surge in the number of applicants and the fact that Nigeria has been moved to the high risk assessment level so it takes more time to deliver quick and efficient service to Nigerians because they need more documents which ultimately takes more time to verify. Before I applied, my agent told me it takes less than two weeks to get the visa but I've been waiting for 6 months now. Now I have really learned how to be patient in life. Patience is indeed a virtue... (these people don humble me) Just pray things change over there and you are able to get your visa in 45 DAYS. Nothing is impossible if you believe |

Please i want to know if its worth it. I am married with two kids. I intend applying for a masters in renewable energy in University of south Wales. Please if i pay the initial deposit before leaving and pay after arrival, will i be able to pay the remaining tuition after arriving Australia by working. can i bring my wife so she can work too? I want to be sure before dabbling into it.
Thanks. I think its best you go on your own first and when you get there, you can apply for the rest of your family to come over. As for paying the rest of tuition after arriving, you will have to wait till you get there and see the situation of things. People with experience over there say its possible to work and pay the tuition if you are not "LAZY" |

These schools send representatives over here and they hold workshops begging us to come and study there and after spending so much money and waiting for months, Someone at the embassy that doesn't like your face simply says he thinks you wouldn't be coming back after studying so he decides to give you a refusal and spoil your passport. I feel there would have been a better way to handle this by the embassy. Maybe if they refuse you right from the school application, it will save you all the stress and money as regards writing IELTS, paying school fees and charges, paying for medicals and ultimately paying for visa application. There's no way you can recover this monies back but the most painful part is the time wasted. If they know they wouldn't accept Nigerians anymore, I think they should state it clearly from the get-go and not allowing us waste time and money.. There's no Australian consulate in this country to start with and those in government can't even compel them to come here and open one. We spend our hard earned money and still beg for visa. I can understand that some Nigerians go there and abandon the schooling but I'm quite sure we are not the only country doing that so we that are trying to get in shouldn't be suffering for the sins of a few. I just hope someone from the embassy can read this and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Nigerian working with them over there undermining our efforts because we Nigerians don't like each other 4 Likes |

fobak203: I want to appreciate every single member both home and abroad that has contributed to proferring solutions to the challenges of Nigerians trying to secure Australian student visa. If there is anything I have learnt from this thread, it is that, no mattter how big your problem might seem, there is someone that can suggest possible solutions to the problem more than any agent.
Based on the foregoing, I have two serious concerns, here it goes:
I have secured three Ph.D admissions (University of Wollongong, Macquarie University and Deakin University) in September. Out of the three, Macquarie offered me IMQRES-MREs as a research training pathway for the Ph.D program on 24th October 2017 for a 1st January 2018 commencement date. However, they made an error by signifying that there was no condition to be satisfied in the offer letter as against the pointer mail on candidature that I need to write IELTS. Because of my state of unrest, I contacted them after a week and apology was rendered. I quickly booked for an IELTS exam with the earliest been 25th November, 2017. Remember I would have to wait for 13days to get my result, so that means I would have to get my CoE approximately on December 8, 2017 as the earliest. Although, I contacted them and I was told I could still resume by January 15th. A sigh of relief. But.....
My Questions: How possible is it to meet up with the January 15th start date given that I need to do medicals, apply for visa and endure the waiting game?
Is there any advice on any line of actions that I can take apart from the underlisted ones? Based on the second question, I have already generated my HAP ID for medicals, filled my acceptance offer letter, lodged for OSHC to be provided by my university since 25th October 2017 ( though no reply from zenith bank yet), create an immiaccount and got stucked when I was asked to add CoE code. I believe I can get more suggestions on things to do before lodging my visa applications.
Does any one know how long it will take to get visa after looking at my total story? given all this waiting since July, I read (wished I did not read them though, but thats reality)?
Do I need to get Police clearance certificate at CID, ALAGBON, IKOYI.
Thanks ALL in anticipation of a response from you guys. I would not pledge allegiancem, but I really love this thread!
I would talk about the other concern in another post later. And I am ready to answer questions on how I got three Ph.D admissions within Australia if there is any. It would be a miracle if you can get the visa on or before January 15th so I suggest you don't get your hopes up. Most of us here have been waiting for 6 months yet and we never smell visa HAP ID and the rest don't mean anything if you don't have the CoE code. I suggest you go see the manager of the zenith bank at the branch you did the transaction and let them check the status of your transactions. Don't just sit at home thinking they will do their job. I waited for over a month because somebody at the head quarters wasn't doing her job The way I see it, you will have to be extremely lucky to get a visa by January because you haven't even applied for the visa yet. I don't think police clearance is necessary. Sometimes they might request for it though so keep all documents handy. Thank me later. Just my own opinion!!!! 1 Like |

aragonbaba: Did you write the embassy on this note earlier before now? I suggest you call them at the embassy and make your case. Let them know you no longer have time and its past 30 days. What do you have to loose? There's no juju once its past your resumption date. You have to defer to 2018 September. Call and shout for them and let them know you have another offer from the UK. There's a girl on this thread that it has worked for. She told them she has another offer from Germany 2 Likes |

noscarn91: for people that deferred till February nxt year, I believe the reason why most of us have not been contacted with a visa decision is becos grants can't be issued until a minimum of 3 months before program start , if you noticed, you would also observe that most, if not all February people that have been contacted already with visa decisions are usually visa denials , so I implore all February faithfuls to exercise a little patience, if we can cross November without being contacted , then there is a very huge chance the visa would he granted because it doesn't make sense for a visa refusal to be delayed that long , I believe people whose applications are denied are notified immediately the application is finalised . True talk... I believe visa will fall on all of us this November 1 Like |

Can you remember the other document they asked you for? Maybe SOA? I'm thinking probably they rejected you because they couldn't verify your previous place of employment. Just saying.. I've hear they reject people when they can't verify your previous place of employment. 1 Like |

As in ehhhh......You need to see the flimsy excuses these guys give these days when sending you rejection. If they don't want Nigerians in their country anymore, they should just say it and stop allowing people waste their hard earned money. There are other countries begging for us to come study. Which one is the course is too expensive? Are we complaining? 2 Likes |
