So history textbooks glorifies violence?
No! But your Bible does

So children should not be taught history, because it contains slavery and war?
They should but not in a way as to revere or glorify characters that carried out these heinous acts.

Great move. Ancient books that glorifies violence, profanity, slavery, magic and the rest, should be done away with in this modern age.

So my plumber disappointed by not showing up, I had to fix my daughter's bathroom dripping leaking double tap myself.
It was not as hard as expected, I just had to understand the process. I also took pictures of the old tap and its components which helped me to assemble the new one with some ease.

This video details the process of dismantling a faulty tap and coupling a new one. We can achieve anything if we put our mind to it.

Good job.

Next time use a pipe wrench instead of pliers.
You can buy one in a tool shop.
Also, the white tape is called a teflon tape. Just to help you with some terminologies grin

Good job once again.

Humans can touch 50,000v and nothing will happen.
The killer agent is the current.
What's the current running through on your tester?

Lol. Not really true.
In some sense, Potential difference is what actually kills. Because at a given time, your body resistance is constant making potential difference to be proportional to the current. In other words, higher potential difference (voltage) means higher current will flow.

Current on the other hand is the quantity of charge that flows per seconds. Mathematically,

Q = I * t

Which means that more charge will flow through your body if current flows through your body for a longer time. It means that, you may be able to survive 10,000A of current flowing through your body for a fraction of nanoseconds but may not survive 10A flowing for just 1 seconds.

I love practicals. Thanks!
I'll recommend the following books (and in this particular order) for practical electronics.

1. The Art of Electronics (3rd Edition)

2. Practical Electronics for Inventors (4th Edition) by Paul Horowitz (or So)

3. Getting started in Electronics (a handwritten book by Forrest Mims)

If you're new to practical electronics, I'll recommend you read them in reversed order.

These three books alongside EEVblog (a YouTube Channel by an Australian Guru called David Jones) are my backbone in practical electronics.

Other notable mentions are:
- Make Electronics
- Encyclopedia of Electronic Components
- Encyclopedia of Electronic Circuits
- NPTEL Basic Electronics by Prof. T.S. Natarajan (A YouTube playlist from NPTEL YouTube channel)

God refuses to give us eternal life on Earth because we are sinners.
But God wants to give sinners eternal life in hell so that he can torture them.

Don't forget that God loves you, and this is just one of His best ways of showing it.

@solite3

How can you say something cannot come from nothing, and yet something called God which came from nothing created the whole universe from nothing.

You even argued that God is not something. Then, is he nothing? No, you won't want to take any side just to make your argument of special pleading valid. "Nothing" is any non existing entity or a state of not existing while "something" is anything that exist but either unknown or not specified. It can be matter, energy, antimatter, atomic/subatomic particles, etc. So it's either your god is in existence (is something) or not in existence (nothing). Take your pick.

Meanwhile, anything that brought the universe into existence is more than just a mere petty magic man who lives in the sky, whose emotions can easily be triggered by how we live our lives on Earth. I mean the universe is just too big and complex to be attribute to all the petty gods of the world put together as one.

Beliefs are mere ideas and deserve no respect. A ridiculous idea ought to be ridiculed to every extent. If you are hurt or feel your belief is disrespected, then you either need a new belief or a superior emotion. Meanwhile tell me how you Christians respect the satanist by binding and casting their satan.

So if god is responsible for our blinded eyes and closed minds why should anyone be bothered? Doesn't this imply that your god takes pleasure in roasting people in hell? If not, why didn't he channel such energy used in blinding people's eyes and closing their mind into opening their eyes and minds so that everyone makes heaven?

Religion / Re: Why Are Nigerian Atheist Cowards? by chemystery: 4:40pm On Oct 14, 2018
Because atheism has no creed or doctrine. In atheism, there is actually nothing to teach or preach, but everything to make people reason and start thinking.

Religion has enslaved people's mind through indoctrination, and the only way to free religious people is to make them think rather than taking them through another journey of indoctrination.

That's why Bob Marley said, "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our mind" - trying to tell us that mental slavery need no external crusader or freedom fighter aside from ourselves.

I don't really know if it's same for other atheist but for me, knowing how difficult it was for me to free myself from the shackles of religion makes me see the near impossibility of succeeding in trying to free others. Let them help themselves. I can't think for anyone or delete the fears (of eternal damnation or whatsoever) that is restricting anyone from thinking freely.

Intelligence is only a gift when accompanied with intellectual honesty. It is intellectual honesty and not intelligence that most theist lack. They are ready to kill the truth instead of the truth to kill their belief or preconceived idea. So just make your point and move on. No need for endless arguments where the motive of the other person is to win and not to come to a consensus. Insinuating that Christians don't believe in what they sing is enough indication that the argument won't head anywhere

It seems you are loosing grasp of your argument now when evidence is thrown at your face.

The bone of argument here is, do christain recognize the existence of other gods? In which I answer in affirmative yes. Whether it is demons or satanic , it is just part of teaching embedded in Christian theology.

Christain recognised other gods and term them as smaller gods(maybe in form of Satan or demon).that is while there is this unique way making letter g in capital for the bigger God while small letter for the smaller gods.

Throughout the old testament, Yahweh was seeing constantly fighting this smaller gods. And if you are familiar with Jewish history, you will notic YAHWEH is also called EL who was the chief god of the Canaanite pantheon. The quaternity was El his wife Asherah and their children Ba’al and Anath. All the west Asian tribes (of whom the Hebrews were one) worshiped these four in various forms and guises.

And as monotheism developed all three were deposed and El alone retained as the Supreme God. El is also the one and only Allah according to the Muslim

Yes Yoruba christain regard Yoruba orishaas as demons and gods that is lower in rank to compare with Yahweh.

Christians recognise other gods as nonexistent. Any other thing you are saying is indicating that Christians regard Satan as a god which is not true. There is just Yahweh and his enemy Satan whom christians don't recognise as a God or god. Other standalone gods are nonexistent to Christians. Even after showing you a common christian song that clearly indicated that christians believe all other gods are works of men yet you still prefer to be lying to yourself. I'm tired of going in circles with you. You can keep lying to yourself if that gives you a satisfaction that you won the argument. Suit yourself bro.

well i will not sound similar to you but rather I will enlight you.

Depending on what version of the bible you have at your disposal., the old testament here on my table says ""though shall have no other gods except me"". (I live you to deduce the logic in that statement).that is if you approach it with honesty.

Paul the apostle referred to other “so-called” gods as demons. In the gospel, The belief in ancient Israel was that other gods were actually fallen spiritual beings, such as Satan or the 200 fallen watchers in I Enoch. These beings convinced people to worship them, thus stealing worship from the the True God of the Bible. So, Baal, for example, was a real being under this concept, but he was inferior to God, a traitor to God and was stealing souls from God.

For further example, None of the Yoruba christain i met ever claim the non existence of sango or ogun(authough they generally regard them satanic)Even they claim Esu one of the orishaas is the same as Lucifer or called it satan.

If only you can be truthful to yourself once, then the truth will fall naturally on your face.

There is an adage common to Yoruba speaking christain. It goes thus.. ...Esu lagbara, sugbon ko ni igbala.
(the devil is powerful and can give power, but he can't give salvation)

No one is saying Christians don't believe Satan or demons exists and are worshiped. This doesn't not rule out the fact that Christians believe many gods are man-made and thus nonexistent. These gods they believe cannot hear, see or even respond just like Baal you mentioned. This is different from demons which Christians believe can be invoked. In christianity, it is either God/Angels or Satan/Demons or a host of other powerless nonexisting entities.

Your christian friends never claim the nonexistence of Sango? Did they claim his existence? If they do, as what? Satan? Demon? Or a standalone god?

I still have made no head or tail from this. Fact 1: Buddhism is not a theistic religion. Fact 2: Being Buddhist is not mutually exclusive from being atheist. What is the "it" that I am denying? What am I denying?

Einstein a few times in his life when lost in poetry expressed pantheistic thoughts. But was quoted calling himself atheist. And another time calling himself agnostic. I'm pretty certain he found nothing rational about theistic belief.

Says who? Is that what the Jupiter worshiper told you? I've been a Christian all my life, enough to know how Christians think and get a grasp too of how theists think. Stop kidding yourself.

Thomas Aquinas is one of history's finest sophists. Great prose though, does not necessarily make for great logic.
Vaxx is saying that Christians believe that Sango and the rest of other gods exists. That is the level of insincerity theists can go to win an argument. It is evident that vaxx just like our old friend butterflylion is not after arguing about what is right but who is right. Only makes me wonder if he has been bitten by the same dog that bit butterflylion. Being intelligent should be accompanied with being intellectually honest else you just end up looking stupid. Many theists are intelligent but intellectual stubbornness makes them sound dumb at times. Many atheist here were once active Christians and we know very well what christians believe and what they don't. In fact, Christians believe all other gods are nonexistent. This is evident from a gospel song that goes this way: All other gods, they are the works of men. You are the only true god; there is none like you . Atheists on the other hand agrees with Christians that all gods are works of men (nonexistent), including their so called "only true god". But according to vaxx logic, Christians not believing in other gods except one is logical while atheists not believing in all is illogical. In essense, to be logical, just pick a random god and agree it is in existence. It doesn't really matter if other religion believes that god is a made-up nonsence. Just pick one, any one and you will be inducted in the hall of fame of logical people.
