Looking forward to Hungary...Lewis needs to win this race and I will love to see a battle between Lewis and Alonso for the top.
Vettel is the most rubbish WC ever..the best drivers are Hamilton(proved he's better than Alonso with what he did in 2007 rem that was his first season), Alonso and the Iceman..
Sports / Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by Chib4u: 11:26pm On Jun 25, 2012
At McLaren, though, they have other things to worry about after yet another pit-stop problem for Hamilton.

This time it was a failure of one of the new Ferrari-style angled jacks the team designed as part of a wholesale restructure of their pit-stop operation following problems in Malaysia, China and Bahrain earlier this year.

It lost Hamilton a place to Alonso when the leaders pitted during the mid-race safety-car period - and that of course would have meant he was leading following the retirements of Vettel and Lotus's Grosjean.

Given the tyre problems Hamilton found himself in during the closing laps, it seems unlikely that he would have been able to hold off Alonso for the victory, but it would have meant he was clear of Pastor Maldonado, and therefore the incident that took him out of the race, for which Hamilton was blameless.

Interestingly, if you look back at how many points Hamilton had lost to various operational issues at McLaren this year before Valencia, it was 27 - exactly the same number as Alonso.

Add the 18 or 15 he would have got for either second or third place in Valencia (depending on whether Kimi Raikkonen would have caught him) and that is more than 40.

After Valencia, he is now 23 points behind Alonso. The McLaren has been on balance the fastest car this year, but Ferrari's form is getting better and better and, after Valencia, Red Bull look more formidable than at any time this year.

There are still 12 races to go in an already extraordinary season that clearly has many more twists and turns to come. But Hamilton should be comfortably leading the championship. Have McLaren already thrown it away?

Culled from Benson at BBC..I personally think they ve. Especailly with red bull back on form.

mikkybrick: You guyS conStantly show how little you know about formula1 and your indefatigable bias for Lewis Hamilton and ur Racism conSpiracy theory.
Am sure if the stewards had penalise Lewis for dangerously driving slowly in d last couple of corners while Roseberg and Maldonado were on dia flyin laps you all would have shouted Racism!!! That singular action cost Roseberg significantly in his grid placement after Q3 and clearly contravened the d safety guidelines stipulated for dat circuit.

We know a lot about F1 and I have been watching F1 before Lewis..You need to watch and read or follow the British media coverage of both drivers then you can talk. Now if u don't see bias toward Button then I will need u to convince me.
Sports / Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by Chib4u: 4:19pm On Jun 23, 2012
bbc finally accepted it today during qualis.....

Lewis Hamilton goes second quickest, but he's beaten by his team-mate Jenson Button. That'll be frustrating for the 2008 world champion after his team-mate copied all his settings to get on top of his recent struggles.

Now I hope all that shit chatting about Button been the complete driver blah blah always in the garrage while Hamilton knows nothing about setting up a car is over. With the same setting he has obviously improve, he qualified 9th but Hamilton qualified 2nd. I just wonder where coultyard and the rest will hide their face. As u said Beaf, to them Button was the "real british" driver. Nobody apart from the british press have tried in vain to paint a picture that Button is better..the real F1 fans and world know the truth so to me they sound pathetic
Sports / Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by Chib4u: 3:34am On Jun 05, 2012
Beaf: Reb Bulls floor has been declared illegal and must be changed before Canada.
I don't see why they should have escaped without a points deduction or outright disqualification from the last 3 races. Afterall, it amounts to blatantly flouting the ban on blown diffusers.

If that was mclaren it would have come with some heavy fine and points deducted both drivers and constructors...SMH
Sports / Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by Chib4u: 8:06am On May 25, 2012
@Beaf u are so right about Andrew aka Alonso and Button do no wrong. For me I think the whole bbc crew apart from Jordan are biased towwards Lewis expecially Coultyard..I am patiently waiting for where they will put Button because if Lewis is 15 then Button shouldn't be on the list

Great race, from 24th to P8.Hamilton is the best driver in F1 hands down!!!this is pure racing no rain aids (Button's luck in canada #teamhamilton
Sports / Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by Chib4u: 10:39pm On May 12, 2012
I must say race played a part in this decision. The stewards do not like Hamilton and am sure the racist spanish fans will be so happy now..
Sports / Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by Chib4u: 5:19pm On May 12, 2012
Good job by Hamilton, my only concern is the useless pireli tires..I hate the fact that F1 now is all about who can manage their tires better hence someone like Button is now rated on the same par with Hamilton and Alonso.
I hope Hamilton gets a good run in in turn 1. #teamhamilton
Sports / Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by Chib4u: 9:24am On Apr 26, 2012
MRbrownJAY: ^^^ i have to admit that Ham's dangerous driving was very similar to what Rosberg did TWICE last weekend. if he doesnt get penalized in any way then i will certainly have to join the band wagon and say that there is some racism unfair treatment in F1.

There is,especailly when u have people like David Coulthard who can't hide his resentment and hatred for Lewis, some of those ex drivers that are now stewarts are racist.
Lauda who was always on hnad to cticise Lewis has obviously refuse to say anything about Roseberg's driving.
Sports / Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by Chib4u: 4:54pm On Apr 22, 2012
I have never liked Whitmarsh and last season cemented it. I really wished Lewis had a fast car and was involve in the Iceman Vettel fight ,that would have been a joy to watch. Adrain has done it again and am not surprise. Mclaren just need to sort themselves out before the boring fest called the spanish GP. So no penalty for Nico?? If that was Hamilton, he would've gotten a drive through.
Sports / Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by Chib4u: 4:36am On Apr 22, 2012
Can't wait for the race. Adrain has clearly done some major improvements to the Red Bull...anyway with Hamilton P2 I expect to see some good racing and I think tire management will come to play and then boring lucky Button might be on the podium. #TeamHamilton

lareine:

@ Chibu I don't know where to start with u.  Are u a Cross River or uta_afang in Cross River? First of all Eman mi ke obio Efik means my folks are in Calabar not that I'm in Calabar. Do you understand GOOD english or should  use your atam language? Tinapa for your info is not a failure, it was only handed over to a failure your atam man who did not know what to do with it. Small Marina Resort under his nose he can't handle. It's unfortunate there was not enough time for DD to kick start and stabilise Tinapa before handing it over to your atam man. What's the fight with properties NRC, Metro etc. Isn't it obvious that your man has no idea of his? Why are u not talking about the celebrated Calabar Carnival, the cleanliness culture DD has caused Cross Riverians to imbibe admists other laudable projects Donald has achieved in CRS. It's a shame on u and your atam people. Go ahead and deny you are not atam. You talk about Dansuki, Ekpo Okon and the rest, what do u know about leadership? These people doff their caps for the same man you re castigating irrespective of their differences. My dear try hard as you may you can't stop Don's shine. He's way outta you peeps' league. He's the Don, he's a genius.

Responding to you is a complete waste of time and am sad that am doing this. Eman mi ke obio efik means i was born in Calabar and thats what i said in my reply to another of your tribalistic friend (am sure you are the same person). So now u blame the failure of Tinapa on Imoke lol. All u succeeded in doing was expose yourself as an ethinic bigoted lady, constantly mentioning Atam lol. Have you noticed you didnt deny any of my points lol instead you are asking a foolish question, what's the fight with the properties(sic) meaning you know he's guilty but you are angry that it's been mention.
Finally regarding if i understand good english, please look at my posts and look at yours then you would know we are not in the same league (english is not my mother's tongue so normally i don't care but please it's are you a Cross Riverian not are you a Cross River lol lol poom to your face you idiot)

SapeleGuy:

Thank you for your response it is what I expected.

Chibu4u - if you are truly from Cross River, what you have written about Tinapa is a pity. As we say 'nah who know man dey kill am'

Why have you completely ignored:

- The loss of 76 oil wells and over N21 Billion in revenue this year alone. That would have meant this loan of N12 Billion could have been paid.

Why would the FG halve Cross Rivers revenue from N2.2 billion to N1 billion per month?
Why would the FG cede Bakassi to Cameroon?
Why would FG not allow Tinapa to flourish by removing the red tape?

My brother the loan itself is more than N12 Billion(ie just union bank, there are other banks as well), why focus on Tinapa? What about my other points? As i said earlier me no get wahala with DD but na him hypocrisy de pain me. That guy na normal and typical naija politician, dont be decieved by this new obama like campaign wey him wan/de start. I know you cant deny the fact that tinapa has been a failure. Apart from the the slash in revenue, the projected revenue to be generated at tinapa has not been achieved and we all doubted it from the inception. My brother if you have lived in Cali, you will understand. WHY BUILD A SO CALLED FREE TRADE ZONE WHEN WE HAVE EPZ CALABAR ALREADY?(sorry i know i have just broken the etiquette of our nairaland by typing in capital letters but DD messed up big time). Let's talk about my other points too. You need to go to Tinapa and see how empty and quite it is. Its a complete white elephant.

SapeleGuy:

Chibu4U -  Tinapa is debt free. Please present your evidence to prove that Cross River is in debt because of Tinapa.  http://allafrica.com/stories/200909080641.html

Prove to us that the other points you have made are true. We dey wait.

Sapele guy Tinapa is not debt free. They took different loans from different banks. Union bank recently went to court seeking to wind up the place read this http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201003161142992 . Even in todays papers Imoke was still talking about the debt http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/News/Metro/Politics/5574459-146/cross_river_gets_compensation_for_oil.csp . Sanusi was only talking about the laons from first bank and UBA(If i repay Mr A does that mean by i don't owe MR C AND D?). Now regarding my other points, you dont live in calabar so you probably woundn't know but at least the NRC building is there for everybody to see, Axari Hotel(former SDP own by his friend a serving commisioner during his tenure is there to see, his well publicized court battle with the chief judge over the N555m naira property in Ikoyi is there for you to see and i provided links for that as well.

Obo Boco:

i went through this post and all i could do is shake my head, because i don't know what to call you ( the writer) i don't want to be biased but i must say, that YOU DON'T KNOW poo of what you are saying, i may not know about donald duke's properties in lagos state, but if you are talking about  CALABAR i must say you are very wrong, i have also lived in calabar all my life till i went for service in lagos which i am not yet through with, you just painted a very funny picture here, to make light on you i suggest you go do your findings again or go back to school, to start with you have no idea about the OBONGSHIP in cross river state and i am not even going to start saying anything thing about it, its a good thing i did not change my user name so if claim you know calabar so well and the obongship history the user name name should ring a bell in your head. thats all i have to say, for the tinapa issue you are only making noise about the debt and how only the rich and people living above average can go there simply because you don't know how to calculate your exchange rate, how much do you pay for swimming pools in lagos and abuja nothing less than 1500 or even two thousand, meanwhile the swimming pool in tinapa goes for only 1000 for adult and 500 for children which is very reasonable compared to the ''state of the art'' equipments you have there, the t-mart shop, though their prices is in dollars, your exchange rate calculation should make you know that the items there are even cheaper than the one you get in the watt market and marian market, so pls when next you want to run your mouth make sure that you know what you are saying so that you will not end up embarrassing yourself, stop making assumptions from a distance, try to go closer to know the real picture of things, from my user name, you should be able to do your findings and i am saying all these with so much confidence because am a regular in tinapa and all those places you mention in calabar, when you can't part with a simple 1k for state of the art swimming pool, how do you expect the state to be able to generate revenue for themselves not to talk of paying their debts. if you must know am a GREAT DAUGHTER OF THE SOIL, and i will say over and over again DONALD DUKE DID WELL FOR THE STATE, something that you can't even do if given the opportunity. so pls stop bleeping.  angry angry angry angry angry angry

@ Obo Boco, first of all I know who you are. You went to Unical and if am right I remember you as a tall efik girl and eyen or eyen eyen Edidem Boco Ene Mkpang Cobham the former Obong. I am sorry if am wrong. Now in your response you failed woefully in denying the points that I raised. You didn’t address the 2003 general election,  you didn't address the huge debt, you didn’t address where Donald got the money to build the new houses i mentioned , you didn’t address the fact that his wife apparently bought NRC secretariat and his friend Basey Ndem (a serving commisioner at the time) bought SDP’s which is now Axari Hotels. Do you actually know the meaning of nepotism? Compare his former house off Okoro Agbo to the one he built at Ekori Inim not to talk of the properties I mentioned. You should be ashamed of yourself making noise about T-mart (a so call departmental store that mostly sells cloth). With the billions(65) of naira wasted on tinapa are you not ashamed that the place can only boast of one company that is T-mart and the leisure side can only boast of Amber hotels and the water park? You called 1K little, how many people in calabar can afford to spare 1k on that swimming pool (Eman mi ke obio efik so I know calabar too well to be deceived by you or Donald’s supporters). I never mention Obong in my article, so am still wondering what your petulant talk about Obongship has to do with my article.
You even failed to address his sacking of all non indigenes from the state civil service because am pretty sure you were one of the few tribalistic people that welcomed it.
Am sure with my answers about Tinapa, I have been able to silence you on that one. So please bring it on, deny the other points and I will be here to respond.

You are a great daughter of the soil and so what?? Am tired of that tribalistic statement you lot make everytime in Calabar, Eman mi ke obio efik nko(meaning i was born in Calabar as well), nke ka nwed ke Saint Partrick, then Unical, me sem eko efik nkan fi self so because you are a efik doesn't mean you know Calabar more than me.
Politics / Re: Police Arrests Donald Duke- Must They Arrest Like This? by Chib4u: 11:51pm On May 29, 2010
The problem is most of his supporters have never lived in Calabar. They are seriously blinded by their desire to see a well spoken handsome or beautiful Nigerian president address the UN or giving a titivating interview on CNN. The said hospital is a private hospital with the sole aim of making profit. The building where the hospital is built was once the NRC's state secretariat(a state government property). He sold it to his wife and actually did the same to SDP's secretariat which he sold to one of his fronts and former commisioner for lands and survey Ndem and the place is now called Axari Hotels.

Sorry for going off topic but i challenge anyone that lives or lived in calabar to denie these points that am about to make

Donald Duke recent cry for electoral reforms etc makes me laugh; Donald Duke masterminded and executed one of the biggest electoral malpractices ever witnessed in the state. To call the 2003 general elections an election is an understatement and a joke. This is a man who did not spare any power as an incumbent governor to crush and wipe out the opposition. Little wonder how a state where ANPP produced twelve State House of Assembly members out of twenty five, three members of the House of Representative, one senator and several Local Government Council Chairmen/woman at the 1999 elections ended up not winning even a single ward election during the 2003 general elections. His supporters have also forgotten his constant display of power against the opposition. With the constant suspension and arrest of ANPP state house members, Orok Duke (not saying he’s a saint) for aligning with the few remaining ANPP members that refuse to decamp or his onslaught on ANPP LGA Chairmen that refuse to decamp e.g. Daniel Asuquo (Dansuki), Eyo Okon Eyo etc. His personal fiat against the/any opposition would surely be established if he ever becomes president. This is the same Donald Duke that is talking of reforms.

Tinapa. Yes Tinapa which Donald Duke prides himself as the architect is nothing but a big failure. A project that was set to fail from the onset, a project that has left the state in a huge debt. Lamenting over the precarious financial situation of the state, Imoke said, “We have been supplementing the shortfall because we had to fall back on our savings. But that has dried up. Cross River is insolvent. We carry a huge debt burden, ”
Tinapa was built on exaggerated and wrong-footed feasibility study report. I still can’t get around the idea of building a business resort/free trade zone when we have an Export Processing Free Trade Zone in Calabar already. Now following the failure of projections, it has become extremely difficult for the state to fulfil its basic functions for the people of the state, as interests are chopped off from its monthly allocations by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), thus whittling its revenue base. This is an example of a bad administrator. Talking about the leisure side of Tinapa, what impact has it made on the life of the common man? How many nollywood movies have been shot from that studio? I don’t buy the idea of using the state’s money in building a place for the rich and the above average citizens. With the amount of money and debt involved this particular project is a failure and it was done in such hurry-scurry because of his dictatorial rule in the state.

Just realise that this is getting long so I will just leave the “Donald Duke is our Obama/best candidate for 2011” with a few questions.

At this time in our country, do we need a man known for his tribalism as the president of our country? Judging from his sacking of all non indigenes from the state civil service. Am pretty sure we know what the constitution says about people that were born or have lived in a certain area over a period of time. Can that act be carried out in any developed country without the president, governor or mayor been called Racist etc.? I wonder how some of you will feel if you lost your job of ten or even twenty years just because of your nationality, colour, religion or tribe.

Do we need a nepotist as our president or do we pretend we can’t remember who handled the contracts for the Calabar Carnivals?

What happened to the NRC state secretariat (State owned building) on Murtala Highway? I hope you know it has been turned into a private hospital (not charity) own and manage by his wife, Onari. If this isn’t nepotism then I don’t know what it is and he swore to an oath never to practice it. Before his so call super intelligent supporters support this action with sentiments like “It’s a public- private partnership” The state government (public) has denied and has no records of such partnership and before you say it’s because of bad politics, Duke should show the world the MOU between the two parties. Even if it’s a public-private partnership, why should the private part be his wife or a member of his family? How am I not sure that he won’t privatize NNPC and sell it to his wife if he becomes president.

Who bought Metropolitan Hotels Ltd (Calabar and Ikom) for N200 million even when General Ukpo had offered to buy the same property at N600 million? The same metro that was renovated for Nigeria 1999 at N400 million. Metro was valued at N2 billion. If Metro was sold at a loss of N2 billion in public funds, what was the rationale behind the decision? Is government not constituted to safeguard the overall interests of the people? In what way does the act of foregoing 2 billion naira amount to safeguarding the overall interests of the people? Does the act of foregoing N2 billion of public money amount to transparency in the conduct of public business?

Where did Donald Duke get the money to build ADMIRALTY TOWERS (three sets of high rise luxury flats) located at No. 9A Gerard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.? Where did he get N555 million to buy the property at No 1 Temple Road, Ikoyi Lagos? Am sure the above mentioned groups have forgotten the court cases between him and the occupier who was a Chief Judge. Check this archives from Thisday and Punch http://odili.net/news/source/2008/apr/15/413.html or http://odili.net/news/source/2008/apr/30/221.html .Based on his official salary and entitlements, a governor shouldn’t be able to afford that unless he has obviously done the obvious.

Basically all am trying to say is, the man is just a normal politician, I don’t think there’s a difference between a small thief and a big thief. He’s not our political messiah. Sorry a leader cannot be excused for too many slips, even a slip in a true democracy has damaged a lot of politicians. The above mentioned groups tries/ keep trying to sell him as an epochal dawn in our national politics, as for me Donald Etim Duke is a normal Nigerian Politician. We have a messiah out there but is definitely not Donald.
