What is he renting shop for when he can sell most of the laptops even before arrival, and the rest he keeps in a small part of his 2-bedroom flat? cheesy
Utilities are his browsing data, less than some guys spend streaming 1hr of porn on a daily
Transportation/Shipping already factored in purchase cost and profit per laptop anywhere from between 30-120%.

Before business spoilt, 100% straight profit was pretty common. I'm talking too much already. cheesy

Doing phones is slightly easier as they're faster moving, and require less space to store them.

The above is for a business I know, and I'm sure the scenario would play out for a lot other businesses, differently...as long as they have the competitive advantage.

Shipping is on the average 10 days...burn the midnight candle shopping for deals and he does at least 30 rounds of business across a year and in 8 years, 240 rounds.
you my friend, practically knows how it goes. lets leave the back and forth, many in other businesses are making way more that most people can imagine.

With 200k did this include cost of renting shop, paying utilities, transportation, staff cost and buying the laptops.

What will be the cost price per laptop around 2015

i think the best is not to labour the point.when u start such business with little,u don't start with shop immediately, your good name and referrals is how u sell.he got a shop in 2018 and thats when the business started its massive growth, this arguments amaze me,because their are many that has done way more than him that i know.maybe we all see the world and Nigeria specifically with different eyes.

#2 million to #50 million is 6 years is plausible and I believe him. That's 2500% increase.

Now compare that with #200 thousand to #400 million in 8 years which is 200,000% increase.

Nobody here is in Kindergarten.

There's a reason the Chide guy is being evasive with how his acquaintance made the assumed money.
oga all u do is just to argue, know what u know and leave what u don't know. never believe u know it all.go out on the streets and asking successful business how it all happened.

By your logic, any and every business that starts with 200K at startup at 20% year on year should have a maximum growth of no more than 860K by the 8th year grin

This thing is arithmetic sha, and you don't have to check Y Combinator to see examples, simply ask Mama Nkechi who grew her single hot rice and beans stand to 4 extra stands in your community, and with 8 staffs to help with serving after 4 years what her year on year profit was.
when business men talk it is easier to know.they believed everything is theory.i have seen people do more than that.in Nigeria, their are so many legal and illegal money, one with the right information can make without even making it to the news.

People can turn their lives dramatically around over a pretty short period. I know some persons who forrayed into the gadgets business with zero capital, stand as middle man, collect small choppings here and there and build capital slowly...some of them have crossed 9 figures in assets, and all of this in a space of 6-7 years, within same Buhari economy.

The above scenario won't be the same for the overwhelming majority of Nigerian businessmen, and even for the guys in the above scenario, things are starting to take a nose-dive with FX rates but that doesn't mean those numbers weren't done and aren't still possible. It's generally easier to scale a business from zero to 10 million than it is to scale from 10 million to 20 million (the more capital you build, the harder it becomes to beat the market significantly, it's why guys like Buffet are seen as geniuses)...don't use growth metrics of already established businesses to judge small businesses.
you got it completely....all this are not hearsay...the gadgets business with the right timing and information...many will make it

#200K in 2015 to #400 million in 2023. Just 8 years.

That's 2000 times increase or 200,000% rise. It's a lie.

Even PayStack which was the fastest-growing startup in Nigeria and got sold at $200 million had a 200 times yield or 20,000% rise from its initial $1 million seed-raise.

Flutterwave had a similar trajectory, and both are unicorns. None did that multiple increase.

200,000% rise under the Buhari administration in 8 years? Come on!
don't speak with such certainty.just know what you know and leave what you don't know.many has hacked the art of making money in their field, and they protect the secret with all they have.

It honestly sounds like some weird fever dream motivational bs.

If he said someone had a pure water factory that sold x bags per day. Or a water treatment facility taht sold water by the truck load. But we have a story where someone allegedly makes millions from selling water to abokis.

Then another bizarre story of someone making millions from phone charging.
their are many stories like that....i have someone very close to me,he started in 2015 with 200k,now his business is worth 400m....and their are countless examples, and this dudes are not even in lagos or abuja.....i beleive japa is never really about the money for most middle and upper class.its all about peace of mind.

Business in Nigeria is certainly not easy. I'm no longer even seeing the point for now especially for those of us outside Lagos. It's not easy. Most people I know here who really succeed in business get contracts from government officials and their cronies.
you just have to master ur business....businesses makes more profit now, especially if have mastered the art of doing business.

eventhough he made a mistake.i really feel for him, he never expected that that lady can do that to him.

The roads in Agbor alone are better than the quality of roads in Benin, but yea, Delta is the worst of the South South states.

I'd understand an argument in the lines of compared to what they're getting, they should be doing a lot better, but to say Delta is in a worse condition than states like Edo and Bayelsa na lie.
they are performing below par, thats agreed.apart from rivers and akwa ibom, none others comes close to delta

DSS should go and arrest Simon Ekpa just as they arrested Nnamdi Kanu. They can kill him if they wish. Police should track the ESN hideouts and kill all of them. Mine is there should be no military takeover. I don't want army forming roadblocks and doing python dance or whatever. They can go to the north where bandits and herdmen are causing more serious insecurity.

Why are they interested in the SE when NE and NW are far worse. Even NC. Let them go to Benue.
is better they are interested, cus most of us are tired of the whole debacle.

Why would you send an army because of civil disobedience?

I gave an alternative which is to ensure economic development in the region like rebuilding federal roads and opening markets.

If you were genuine in your concern which I know you are not, this should be your first attraction to my comments.

I understand that some people just want to see military stretching themselves with easterners not necessarily ensuring peace. They just want to see people being subjugated rather than being set free.

Oga, any person with genuine interest in what's happening in the SE would not send the army as any possible solution. Sending the army will create more tension. Simple.
