Religion / Devote Yourself To The Public Reading Of Scripture by Chiechezonam: 7:44am On Feb 17, 2015
1 Timothy 4:13–16

13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. 14 Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. 15 Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. 16 Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.

Stability in life and in personal walk with the Lord cannot be enhanced by just watching men perform on the platform. You will be swept off that way. Give attention, give place to reading. Study: do an in-depth study of God's Word. Study not just to solve immediate problems, but study to know God and His mind on every issue. Study to be acquainted with His ways. Study the characters in the scriptures to see where they excelled and at what they stumbled. Study to prepare for the days ahead.

This study is not Bible school kind of theology but a study in order to apply your heart, a study in order to be guided. Read widely and yet narrowly; by that I mean with a focus. Read not gullibly when it comes to men's books. Read with your Bible on hand asking, is this thing really so? In the same way, we must listen to good Christian massages. Do not copy anything, any man, any man, any message until you have proved it, not just that it worked but that Jesus practised it, the Apostles followed it and it is congruent to the total counsel of God.

Read, learn and practise the truth in their context. God Himself will grant you wisdom, as you seek to please Him continually, in Jesus' Name!
Religion / Jesus Reward The Man He Interrupts by Chiechezonam: 8:26am On Feb 08, 2015
"Now when He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, launch out into the deep and let down your net for a draught . . . " (Luke 5:4-5).

There is no man who lays down his life for Jesus to use who go home empty-handed. There is none. If you lay down your life to serve the Lord, God will never forget you. Others may be going as if they have really gone ahead of you, yet after much struggles and activities, they will catch nothing and have to begin again.

It is better for God to engage your life in something eternal than for you to be going up and down, doing trial and error.

Jesus said, "Now launch out into the deep . . . " and the Bible says when they did that, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes, such that their nets began to break. When this man opened his life to Jesus, God also opened the deep unto him. Can you thrust out a little, and let Jesus step unto your life? Can you surrender and say: " Lord, today whatsoever you want to do with my life, I surrender it"? Look into your life and check what it is that you are running after when the Holy Spirit is saying, "you are needed for a different assignment".

Until Simon gave Him a chance, he could not touch these blessings of God and the true riches God had reserved for him. There are things you have been pursuing which have no eternal value. Do not die with such things.
Religion / Spiritual Growth by Chiechezonam: 8:38am On Feb 03, 2015
2Peter 1:3-8, "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Spiritual growth includes: (1) increasing in your knowledge and understanding of God's Word, (2) decreasing in your frequency and severity of sin, (3) increasing in your practice of Christ-like qualities, and (4) increasing in your faith and trust in God. Perhaps the best summary of spiritual growth is becoming more like Jesus Christ. In 1 Corinthians 11:1, Paul says, "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ." Jesus Christ is the ultimate example of what it truly means to be spiritual.

Spiritual Growth - How is it done?
In order for spiritual growth to occur, you first need to make sure you possess a true spiritual life through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life" (1 John 5:11-12). When you believe in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit lives inside of you (John 14:16-17) and you are a new creation in Christ! 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" Your old nature, which is dominated by sin, is replaced with a new nature that is under the influence of God's Spirit (Romans 6-7). Spiritual growth can only occur in a person who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her Savior.

Learning how to grow spiritually is a life-long journey which occurs as you read and apply God's Word to your life. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 teaches us, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." In order for spiritual growth to occur, we must be taught, rebuked, corrected, and trained by God's Word. Then we will be thoroughly equipped for every good work. This is the essence of spiritual growth.

Another key to Christian growth is walking in the Spirit. Galatians 5:16-18, 24-26 explains, "So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law…Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other."

Spiritual growth is a life-long process of manifesting the acts of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21) less and less and producing the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) more and more. Notice that it is the Holy Spirit who produces the fruit in us. Yes, we must submit ourselves to the Spirit's leading, but it is the Spirit who produces the fruit of spiritual growth in our lives. What does spiritual growth look like? Galatians 5:22-23 has the answer, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." If you are becoming more loving, more joyful, more kind, more self-controlled, etc., then you can rest assured that spiritual growth is genuinely occurring in your life.

God works in different people in different ways. Some people grow rapidly, while others grow slowly, but steadily. Our focus should not be on comparing ourselves with others, but on comparing ourselves with God's Word. The Scriptures are the mirror to show us what we are like spiritually and to shine light on the areas that need to experience and learn spiritual growth. James 1:23-25 declares, "Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it - he will be blessed in what he does."
Religion / "Behold A Sower Went Out To Sow And To Sow The Word Of God As The Seed" by Chiechezonam: 2:31pm On Jan 31, 2015
Christian life begins when the proper word of God is sown into a life, if the heart is a good ground. Every time God wants to change a man's life, or his destiny, there is no other method God uses other than sowing His Word into that life. The gospel is God's powerful method of changing men (Rom. 1:16).

There is no other way to correct a life, or change a man. There is no other way for a home to be redirected, or a life to take a correct shape. There no other way to make a better man, than for the sower to come out and sow a seed into that life. For example, God may be sending this message as a seed into your heart, to cause a new beginning in your life. As you are reading the Word of God here, you are taking in the seed of life, the seed of the divine nature, and the incorruptible seed of the Word of God.

The kingdom life, the Christian life and divine nature of God only begins in a man by the sowing of a seed and that seed is the Word of God. It is an incorruptible seed. There can be nothing wrong with the Word of God. It is eternal. It is perfect. It can never fail. The Word of God which you have been reading, which you carry, sleep with, open and put under the pillow, is the same Word that has changed many lives! It is the same word that has brought others into revival. It is the same Word that has changed the destiny of many lives.
God has always made men by His Word. He has always fashioned men to live a holy life, to be righteous, to be victorious and to be delivered from their sicknesses and problems with His Word.

There is nothing wrong with the seed; the Word of God is perfect and will ever remain relevant, and incorruptible. So the basic issue to consider in the matter of Christian and service will be the heart condition. On what kind of ground does the seed of the Word of God fall as far as you are concerned? What kind of ground is your heart to the seed of the Word of God?
Politics / General Buhari crashed! by Chiechezonam: 8:30pm On Jan 25, 2015
A plane was about to crash and there were only four parachutes in the plane. Meanwhile there were five passengers in it .The first passenger was Cristiano Ronaldo and he said: I'm the best footballer, I cant die now". So he took one parachute and jumped out of the plane. The second passenger was Aliko Dangote and he said "I'm the richest man in Africa and I'm too young to die". So he took the second parachute and jumped out of the plane. The third passenger was General Buhari and. he said: " I'm the person with the highest integrity in Nigeria and I'm about to win presidency so I can't die now, my people still need me". So he took one and jumped out of the plane. Then the remaining two passengers left werePope Francis and a little school girl. The Pope said to the little girl "take the last parachute, I'll sacrifice my life for you".The little girl replied "No need for that. There are two parachutes left".The Pope asked "How come?"The little girl replied; "General Buhari took my school bag"
Religion / Giving Thanks To God by Chiechezonam: 10:18am On Jan 25, 2015
EPHESIANS 5:20
GIVING THANKS always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Does the Bible admonish us to give thanks for a few things? To give thanks if it suits us? No, we are told to give thanks for all things!
This doesn't means that we are to thank God for what the devil is doing. But in the midst of every circumstance, no matter what it is, we can thank God for His goodness. We can thank God that we have another opportunity to believe Him and trust Him. We can thank God that we have another opportunity to exercise our faith and to see His faithfulness and righteousness performed on our behalf.

Those Christians who are full of the Spirit are also full of thanksgiving and praise. They are full of song; they sing and make melody in their hearts to the Lord, and they are full of thanksgiving and praise to God.

No matter what happens, maintain a thankful attitude. Praise God regardless of your circumstances. Praise God whether you feel like it or not.

Satan won't hang around where people are praising God. The devil can't stand that! Once you begin praising God, the devil will shut up, step back, and get out of your way! The devil can't stand it when we praise God either! Everyone of us is anointed to pray and to praise God. If you don't feel anointed when you start praying, stay in the presence of God long enough and wait for the anointing to come. If you will offer the sacrifice of praise, that is, if you will praise God even when you don't feel like it, the anointing will come.

When you get full of the Holy Spirit, giving thanks is such a way of life to you, that you are unconscious of the fact that you are doing it. it's so much a part of you, that praise and thanksgiving just come out as a natural expression to God.

When you get anointed thanksgiving will continually flow out of your mouth to God. If you've had a hard time praising God because of the tests and trials you're going through at the time, if you begin to praise and thank God you'll get your joy and your praise back! you'll get your thanksgiving back! Praise and thanksgiving will begin to roll out of your mouth once again. You'll be full of thanksgiving and joy.

PRAISE GOD!

Religion / How Can We Receive A Fresh Anointing From God, So We Won't Be Broken by Chiechezonam: 7:45pm On Jan 20, 2015
HOW CAN WE RECEIVE A FRESH ANOINTING FROM GOD, SO WE WON'T BE BROKEN, BUT WE CAN BE FULL RESERVOIRS UNTO GOD'S GLORY?

Also, what are the characteristics of those who are full reservoirs - those who maintain a fresh anointing upon their lives?
If God wants us to be full reservoirs, what does He want us to be full of?
First of all, He wants us to be FULL OF THE WORD OF GOD

Christians are to be, first, full of the Word of God. The Word is to dwell or live in us.
COLOSSIANS 3:16
16 Let the word of Christ DWELL in you RICHLY in all wisdom.

If the Word is to dwell in us, does the Bible say to what degree it is to dwell in us? Just a little? To a small degree? Just enough to get by? No, richly! The Word of God is to dwell in us richly!

Imagine a sponge that is put into water to soak up the water. We are to "soak up" the Word of God just like a dry sponge would soak up all the water it can. If you put a sponge in water, that sponge would get so full of water that if you touched it anywhere, water would come out. We are to soak up the Word like that, and get God's Word into our spirit! Then if we are touched by any circumstances in life, the Word of God will flow out of us just like water out of a sponge. That's exactly how we are to be in every situation in life - FULL OF THE WORD OF GOD!
Soak up the Word until you're so full of the Word that if you get touched on any side by any difficulty, the Word comes out. If you get touched by persecution, the Word comes out. If you get touched by criticism, the Word comes out. If you get touched by tests or trials, the Word comes out.

In the old testament, God struck some isrealites dead just because the attempted fighting for him by protecting the ark of God from falling down.
That was how we christians came to believe that we cannot fight for God. Now why must a mortal being fight for an immortal being like God ? Why must muslims fight for their Gos? Doesnt their God have powers to consume ? Mr poster.. Many people have made mockery of Jesus christ in magazines and did christians kill anyone ? So why are u so much intrested in this case?

Religion / Three Obvious Distractions That Keep Us From Spending Time With God by Chiechezonam: 10:54am On Jan 19, 2015
Three obvious distractions that keep us from spending time with God are -:

• our desire for entertainment,
• our work,
• and the demands of other people.

All of these are unavoidable - and even necessary - so we have to make a quality decision to want more of God than anything else and to learn balance in taking time to seek Him.

God has answers to every need; all we have to do is cooperate with Him. God is not going to tell you to do something that is beyond your ability - all He wants is your willingness, and then He will do the work.

Religion / Baby Christians by Chiechezonam: 12:04am On Jan 16, 2015
We are commanded in Scripture to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). This growth is spiritual growth, growing in faith.

At the moment we receive Christ as our Savior, we are born again spiritually into God's family. But just as a newborn baby requires nourishing milk for growth and good development, so also a baby Christian requires spiritual food for growth. "Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good" (1 Peter 2:2-3). Milk is used in the New Testament as a symbol of what is basic to the Christian life.

But as a baby grows, its diet changes to also include solid foods. With this in mind, read how the writer of Hebrews admonished the Christians: “In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil" (Hebrews 5:12-14). Paul saw the same problem with the Corinthian believers; they had not grown in their faith, and he could only give them "milk" because they were not ready for solid food (1 Corinthians 3:1-3).
There are Christians who have been saved many years, but spiritually they are still babies. They cannot understand the deeper truths of the Word of God.

What should a Christian's diet consist of? The Word of God! The truths taught in the Bible are rich food for Christians. Peter wrote that God has given us everything we need for life through our (growing) knowledge of Him. Read carefully 2 Peter 1:3-11 where Peter lists character qualities that need to be added to our beginning point of faith in order for maturity to take place and to have a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Religion / Don't Worship Idols Again by Chiechezonam: 9:45pm On Jan 13, 2015
Do you know that many believers have been worshipping idols unknownly? Yes, the way we go about seeking material blessings can in fact make us idol worshippers. See how it works.

Material blessings here include good health, good job, riches (money), good husband/wife, nice children, good marriage/family, promotions/positions, cars, housing, and all good things of this physical life which we need to fulfil God's purposes for our lives.
These things are good and desirable, and in fact, it is God's will to let us have them. But then, are these the things we should be preoccupied with? Are these to become our focus, when such good things become our main focus, they cease to be good. Why? Because they have become idols to us. "Idols" in the heart are things which we have allowed to displace God in our hearts, things which have taken the number one place in our hearts, things which we have made our main pursuit.

God and pleasing God should be our main pursuit. As we please Him, He gets these material things for us with ease. It is these material things that many people have been running up and down looking for, praying for, fasting for, drinking anointing oil for, and afflicting their souls and their bodies for! When we do that, then we are worshipping idols in our hearts!
That is why many who seek them don't find them, because God did not ask us to seek those things.
We are to seek God's spiritual foundation first, then God would add these things to us.

Furthermore, when we make these material things our main pursuits, they displace God in our hearts. We may then lose God as well as the material things we are seeking. That is what has happened to many Christians already. They have lost both God and the material things they are seeking!

Are you one of such people? Ask God to show you your real position. Then repent if need be and start doing things the right way.
Religion / Re: How Do I Become Holy? by Chiechezonam: 9:01pm On Jan 03, 2015
Holy Ghost School simply means
SOMEBODY LEARNING DIRECT FROM GOD. When you separate yourself to God, and allow Him to teach you, and lead you in the way you should go, then you are in the Holy Ghost School. It simply means, one being taught and led by the Holy Spirit (Rom.8:14).

WHO IS THE TEACHER IN HOLY GHOST SCHOOL

In John 14:26, Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would be our teacher and He would teach us all things we need to know in this life. In Isaiah2:3 and Psalm 32:8, GOD Himself says He will teach us His ways. 1 John 2:27 says the Anointing (that is the Holy Spirit) is to teach us everything, so that we would not need to run about anymore, seeking people to direct us. The primary purpose of sending the Holy Spirit is that He might become our Teacher (see John 14:26).

And when the Holy Spirit teaches us, that is what we called Holy Ghost School.

So, do you want the Holy Spirit to become your personal Teacher or do you want Him to begin to teach you the ways of God or do you want Him to begin to lead you and direct you in the way you should go?

All you need to ask Him, and He will begin to do so. He is waiting for you to request. When He begins to lead, to teach you, and when you obey His leading willingly, then you have joined the Holy Ghost School. It is as simple as that!

IT IS DONE BY REVELATION OF THE LORD

What makes Holy Ghost School unique is that it is done by revelation. It is not a situation where people tell you about God. No! in Holy Ghost School people does not teach you, rather God Himself  comes down to reveal Himself to us, as He did to Samuel (1 Samuel 3:10-21), and to Paul (Galatians 1:11-17 and 2 Corinthians 12:1-7). Holy Ghost School is therefore a school by Revelation Knowledge of HIM. This is the true knowledge we need in order to grow up and mature in things of GOD. No one can reveal GOD to us. No one can tell us about God. This will enabled you to know God more deeply and more intimately. This is what we need to be able to endure unto the end. We need revelation of God; by God Himself (1 Samuel 3:21)

WHERE IS HOLY GHOST SCHOOL LOCATED?

Holy Ghost School is not a church or a fellowship or a place of worship. Holy Ghost School simply means you, alone with God, learning to walk together in agreement with Him. The location is right there in your own house. When you are separate yourself to God, for Him to teach you. Whenever you are in the presence of God, alone with Him, to hear His voice and receive direction from Him, then you are in HOLY GHOST SCHOOL. It is simply as that!

But first, consider the following:

Holy Ghost School is for people who are truly thirsty for God and for the will of God.
Are you genuinely hungry for more of Jesus or are you satisfied with the level you are already? Only those who want more of Jesus can do well in HOLY GHOST SCHOOL.
Are you sure you will want to obey the will of God, no matter the cost? Holy Ghost School is only for those who are ready to please God , even if it means displeasing self, friends and people(Galatians 1:10)
The heart of man is deceitful. Therefore ask God to reveal your heart to you, so that you may know and see how God really sees you. This is necessary, so that you would know where to begin. You may be shocked what God will reveal to you about your life.

Choose a Covenant Time.
This is a time you have set apart for God. At that time you should be in His presence, for Him to teach you and cleanse you and beautify your life. It is not a time for prayers or for asking for things. Rather, Covenant time is a time to STUDY! When you are there, begin to study DISCIPLESHIP BOOKS (CHRISTIAN BOOKS) or BIBLE. Discipleship books are books that will help you get closer to Jesus as a person. Books that will show you how to draw closer to Jesus and know Him better. They are books that will show you how to hear the voice of the Lord and have DEEPER PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. These books have been arranged and well-mixed with relevant Scriptures to meet your immediate needs. Study these books in His presence during your covenant time. Study them at other times too. You are then eating at the Table of the Lord. At once the Lord will begin to work in your life, to perfect you according to His own plans. When you start keeping covenant time in this way, you have then started HOLY GHOST SCHOOL and the results will amaze you within a short time. This covenant time must be the same time each day. Why? Because it is a COVENANT time. A time you have agreed with GOD; to meet with HIM. It’s an appointment with God! It is a time you have given to God. You should not allow visitors or anybody or anything to hinder it, as much as you can. It may last for one hour, or more, or even less, depending on the nature of your work and on the Lord’s leading. What is important is that you should begin at the same time everyday. The Holy Spirit will stop you when He is through with you. Each time.
If you keep your covenant time faithfully, then God will begin to speak to you. He will do so through revelations, dreams and visions, as He did with Samuel, Joseph, Daniel, Peter ,Paul etc. He will also speak to you by inward witness and by His voice - as you mature more. Remember God has a “still, small voice” (1 Kings 19:12). Therefore you need to get close enough to hear His voice. That is why He usually begins with dreams and visions. But as we keep growing in obedience and in intimacy with Him. His voice then became clearer. He may then begin to speak more to us by voice and less by dreams. If you don't understand His messages, especially dreams, don't worry. Ask Him to give you understanding of them, and He will, at His own time. He did it for Paul in Galatians 1:11-12, Samuel in 1 Samuel 3:10-21, Daniel, Joseph and other disciples of the past. He will do it for you too – if you desire.

Religion / Indecency, with its sleazy filth and the vow of chastity by Chiechezonam: 9:09pm On Jan 02, 2015
Satan’s plan is to deceive as many of us as he can to prevent us from returning to live with our Heavenly Father. One of the most damaging things he can do is entice us to break the vow of chastity. He is cunning and powerful. He would like us to believe it is no sin to break this vow. Many people have been deceived. We must guard ourselves against evil influences.

Satan attacks the standards of modesty. He wants us to believe that because the human body is beautiful, it is something to flaunt and expose. Our Heavenly Father wants us to keep our bodies covered so that we do not encourage improper thoughts in the minds of others.

Satan not only encourages us to dress immodestly, but he also encourages us to think immoral or improper thoughts. He does this with pictures, movies, stories, jokes, music, and dances that suggest immoral acts. The vow of chastity requires that our thoughts as well as our actions be pure.

Jesus taught, “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

“But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart” (Matthew 5:27–28).

We live in a world of terrible temptations. Pornography, with its sleazy filth, sweeps over the earth like a horrible, engulfing tide. It is poison. Do not watch it or read it. It will destroy you if you do. It will take from you your self-respect. It will rob you of a sense of the beauties of life. It will tear you down and pull you into a slough of evil thoughts and possibly of evil actions. Stay away from it. Shun it as you would a foul disease, for it is just as deadly. Be virtuous in thought and in deed. God has planted in you, for a purpose, a divine urge which may be easily subverted to evil and destructive ends. When you are young, do not get involved in steady dating. When you reach an age where you think of marriage, then is the time to become so involved. But you boys who are in high school don’t need this, and neither do the girls”

Satan sometimes tempts us through our emotions. He knows when we are lonely, confused, or depressed. He chooses this time of weakness to tempt us to break the vow of chastity. Our Heavenly Father can give us the strength to pass through these trials unharmed.

The scriptures tell about a righteous young man named Joseph who was greatly trusted by his master, Potiphar. Potiphar had given Joseph command over everything he had. Potiphar’s wife lusted after Joseph and tempted him to commit adultery with her. But Joseph resisted her and fled from her. (See Genesis 39:1–18.)

Religion / It Takes Divine Love To Love Your Enemies (matthew 5:43-48). by Chiechezonam: 7:59am On Dec 27, 2014
If you read the first five books of the Bible, you would understand that the Jews were well versed in the law. But did you ever notice that the Old Testament law didn't teach the Israelites about love, grace, or forgiveness for their enemies?

You won't find principles of loving your enemies taught under the law - you'll find retribution and judgement. You see, under the law, the principle was, "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" ( Exod. 21:24). Even when you read the psalms of David, you see him praying against his enemies. He was trying to get the Lord to hate them as he hated them.
That's why in teaching about the God-kind of love, Jesus started out by saying, "You have heard it said that you should love your neighbour and hate your enemy"(v. 43). "But I say unto you, Love your enemies. . ."

Jesus knew none of us could be perfect as God is perfect. But Jesus was saying that we are to grow up and be perfect or mature in the God-kind of love. Notice that Jesus isn't giving us a suggestion in this Scripture. He directed and instructed us to mature in the God-kind of love!

In order to be mature in God's love, who are we going to have to love? Just those who love us? No, Jesus said that to be mature in God's love, we'll have to love even our enemies! Our enemies!

Then Jesus defined our enemies and told us exactly who they are. He said, " . . . bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you"(v. 44).
Therefore, our enemies are people who curse us, hate us, use us, and persecuted us for the gospel's sake. Well, according to Jesus, what are we to do to our enemies? Are we to retaliate and get even with them? No, we are to love them, bless them, do good to them, and pray for them.

The thought here is that if we will do these things for those who hate us, we will mature in the God-kind of love. Then we will be acting like our Heavenly Father.
Religion / Welcome To End Times Prophecy! 26 Signs Of The Lord’s Soon Return: by Chiechezonam: 10:21am On Dec 19, 2014
1. False Bible teachers would be money hungry. They would be smooth talkers, have many followers, and slur the Christian faith (2 Peter 2:1-3) See some at: Fakemessiah.com
2. Homosexuality would be increasingly evident at the end of the age (2 Timothy 3:3)
3. Earthquakes would be in diverse places (Matthew 24:7)
4. Stress would be part of living (2 Timothy 3:1)
5. Many wars would erupt (Matthew 24:6)
6. People would forsake the Ten Commandments as a moral code, committing adultery, stealing, lying, and killing (Matthew 24:12)
7. There would be a cold religious system, in denying God’s power (2 Timothy 3:5)
8. Men would substitute fantasy in place of Christian truth (2 Timothy 4:4). This is so evident at Christmas when the birth of the Savior is lost behind the myth of Santa Claus.
9. Deadly diseases would be prevalent (Matthew 24:7). The worldwide increase in AIDS deaths is almost inestimable. Over 160,000 Americans die of cancer each year.
10. The fact that God once flooded the earth (the Noahic flood) would be denied (2 Peter 3:5-6). There is a mass of fossil evidence to prove this fact, yet it is flatly ignored by the scientific world because of its uncanny implication.
11. The institution of marriage would be forsaken by many (1 Timothy 4:3)
12. There would be an increase in famines (Matthew 24:7)
13. Increase in vegetarianism would increase (1 Timothy 4:3-4)
14. There would be a cry for peace (1 Thessalonians 5:3)
15. The possession of Jerusalem would be at the center of international turmoil (Zechariah 12:3)
16. Knowledge would increase (Daniel 12:4)
17. There would be hypocrites within the Church (Matthew 13:25-30)
18. There would be an increase of religious cults/false teachers (Matthew 24:11 & 24)
19. The future would seem fearful to many (Luke 21:26)
20. Humanity would become materialistic (2 Timothy 3:4)
21. There would be many involved in travel (Daniel 12:4)
22. The Christian Gospel would be preached as a warning to all nations(Matthew 24:14)
23. Jesus said Christians would be hated “for His name’s sake” (Matthew 24:9)
24: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Luke 21:25-26).
25: Youth would become rebellious. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy (2 Timothy 3:2)
26: Men would mock the warning signs of the end of the age saying, “for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” (2 Peter 3:4). The Bible even reveals their motivation, they love lust (verse 3). They fail to understand that a day to the Lord is as a thousand years to us. God is not subject to the time that He created. He can flick through time as we flick through the pages of a history book. The reason He seems to be silent, is because He is patiently waiting, not willing that any perish, but that all come to repentance.
Religion / Kinds Of Evangelism by Chiechezonam: 10:10am On Dec 19, 2014
Luke 24:48 "And ye are witnesses of these things."
LUKE 24:48
One of the great mistakes of the modern church is to think that evangelism is something done within the four walls of the church building. Acts 8:1-4 makes it apparent that evangelism was not done by the pastor or clergy but by believers that went everywhere preaching the Word (Acts 8:4).
Some methods of evangelism mentioned in scripture are:

• 1) House to house evangelism - "...and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ" (Acts 5:42).

• 2) Personal one-on-one evangelism - Philip ministered to the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:26-38), Paul to Sergius Paulus (Acts 13:7), Jesus to Mary Magdalene, Nicodemus, the woman at the well, the thief on the cross, and others. There are around 35 such instances recorded in the Gospels alone.

•3) Evangelism to large crowds - Peter ministered to the crowds in Jerusalem at Pentecost (Acts 2) and Paul at Lystra (Acts 14:8-18).

•4) Evangelism to entire cities - "Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them" (Acts 8:5).

•5) Public debate and preaching - Paul disputed in synagogues and market places (Acts 16:17), Peter and John preached in the temple (Acts 3:11-26), Paul declared, "And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you PUBLICKLY and from HOUSE TO HOUSE, Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:20-21).

•6) Tract evangelism - The first tract evangelism with ink and pen are the Gospels. John in his gospel stated, "These are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His Name" (Jn. 20:31).

Christians are to be wise in the way they act and speak to unbelievers. We are to make the most of every opportunity. The Christian's speech should be gracious with answers that meet the needs of each person they encounter.
Religion / Keep Your Tongue So You Can Keep Your Life by Chiechezonam: 9:07am On Dec 15, 2014
1Peter 3:10-11
For he that will love life, and see good days, LET HIM REFRAIN HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL, and his lips that they speak no guile [deceit]:
LET HIM ESCHEW EVIL, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

Sometimes it will take some effort on your part to walk in love. You'll have to keep your tongue under subjection to the man on the inside who is created in the image and likeness of God.

Have you ever stopped to think that your tongue has a lot to do with the quality of your life? It also has a lot to do with how long you live on this earth! And it has much to do with whether or not the days you live are good days or bad days. What you say has everything in the world to do with enjoying a long, good life!
The secret of enjoying life and seeing many long, good days is contained in First Peter 3:10:" . . . refrain your tongue from evil . . . " love always refrain from talking evil. Love speaks no guile or evil about others, and the God-kind of love seeks peace with every person.

You won't be able to harbour unforgiveness in your heart and talk about others if you want to see many long, good days.

1 PETER 3:12
We could read this verse like this: "The eyes of the Lord are over those who do right. " We could also read it like this:"The eyes of the Lord are over those who walk in love, and His ears are open to their prayers."

You see, there are no hindrances to your prayers when you're walking in the God's plan! But the Bible says, . . . the face of the Lord is against them that do evil." Every step out of love is sin. We could also read this verse, "The face of the Lord is against those who speak evil about others."

How does a Christian sin? By not walking in love. By talking about others. We could put it this way: Every step out of love is doing evil. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour. Love refrains from speaking evil. Love - God's love - would never say anything bad about anyone.

Religion / Walking In The Spirit Is Walking In Love by Chiechezonam: 10:56am On Nov 30, 2014
GALATIANS 5:16
This I say then, WALK IN THE SPIRIT, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

A lot of times when believers talk about walking in the Spirit, they sort of get misty-eyes and foggy-headed. They seem to think that walking in the
Spirit is some kind of mystical experience where they just sort of float around caught up in the Holy Spirit.

But really walking in the Spirit is very simple. Walking in the Spirit is walking in the fruit of the spirit. Walking in the Spirit is walking in love.
Notice what Paul says about walking in the Spirit. First he lists works of the flesh. Then he lists the fruit of the spirit.
Galatians 5:16,18-25 (KJV)

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Paul said, "Now the works of the flesh are manifest . . ." (v. 19). Or we could say it this way: "If you walk in the flesh, then the works of the flesh will be manifested, and they will dominate you."
Notice what Paul says about walking in the Spirit: "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh" (Gal. 5:16).

Well, how do you walk in the Spirit? To walk in the Spirit is to walk in the fruit of the spirit. To walk in the Spirit is to walk in love! In other words, walking in the Spirit is walking in love , joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.

Then Paul says, " . . . against such there is no law. " In other words, when you are walking in the fruit of the spirit, there is no law that can bear witness against you because you will be fulfilling all the requirements of the law.

So putting it simply, we can say that to walk in the Spirit is to walk in the nine fruit of the recreated human spirit. That is the essence of what walking in human spirit is all about.
Religion / Cursed Is The Man Who Trusts In Man by Chiechezonam: 10:28am On Nov 16, 2014
Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NIV)

5 This is what the Lord says:

“Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who draws strength from mere flesh
and whose heart turns away from the Lord.
6 That person will be like a bush in the wastelands;
they will not see prosperity when it comes.
They will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.
7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
    whose confidence is in him.
8 They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
    its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”

My friend, there are essentially two ways to live this life. The first is for us to depend and trust entirely in the Lord, while the other is to depend on our efforts, and strive and struggle for success. We can never bring about good success that comes from God by depending on our self-efforts. No matter how we strive and struggle, we cannot work for our own righteousness or attain our salvation. Any success that we may achieve is only partial.

On the other hand, God's kind of success is complete, whole and permeates into every facet of our lives - spirit, soul and body.
God's Word says,"The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it (Provb. 10:22). God never gives us success at the expense of our marriage, families or health.

When you depend on your efforts, you can struggle for many years and get a certain measure of success. But God's ways are higher. With just one moment of His favour, you can experience accelerated blessings and promotion that years of striving and struggling can never achieve. Look at Joseph's life. He was nothing but a lowly prisoner. Yet, within an hour of meeting Pharaoh, he was promoted to the highest office in the entire Egyptian empire.

Beloved, even if you are down and out (like Joseph was) at this point in your life, the Lord can promote you supernaturally in an instance when you choose to put your eyes on Him!

Religion / Meditate On Jesus, The Word Made Flesh, And Experience Good Success by Chiechezonam: 7:01am On Nov 15, 2014
Under the new covenant, we get to meditate on the person of Jesus when meditate on the Word. Jesus is the Word made flesh, and as you maditate on His love for you, on His finished work on the cross, on His forgiveness and on His grace, God guarantees that you will have good success.
You can just take one verse and meditate on Jesus' love for you. Whether you are a homemaker, salesperson or business owner, your soul will be nourished and strengthened when you meditate on Jesus. Every time you meditate on God's Word, Jesus will propel you into success without you even realizing it! Without you having to scheme, devise or make all sorts of plans, Jesus will direct your steps, lead you to the place that you are supposed to be and cause door of opportunity to supernaturally open wide for you.

When you meditate on Jesus, your ways always become prosperous. Now, don't be afraid to use the word "prosperous." It's God's promise in the Bible. When you meditate (mutter) on. Jesus day and night, the Bible says that "you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success"!

When God blesses you with prosperity, financial blessings are included. Good success from Jesus will never take you away from your loved ones.

As you are meditating on God's Word, ask the Holy Spirit to give you a fresh revelation of Jesus. Let that scripture burn with revelation in your heart. And as you speak out of that burning revelation, God anoints the words that you speak. When you declare, that declaration uttered with a sense of revelation and faith in Jesus, there will be power in your declaration.

My friend, learn to meditate on the person of Jesus. He is your good success. When you have Him, you have everything.

Apart from 2 maccabees where else? Did Jesus prayed for repose of the soul of His foster father Joseph

italo:
Praying for the dead is perfectly biblical.

2 Maccabees 12:38-46

38 - So Judas having gathered together his army, came into the city Odollam: and when the seventh day came, they purified themselves according to the custom, and kept the sabbath in the place.

39 - And the day following Judas cam with his company, to take away the bodies of them that were slain, and to bury them with their kinsmen, in the sepulchres of their fathers.

40 - And they found under the coats of the slain some of the donaries of the idols of Jamnia, which the law forbiddeth the Jews: so that all plainly saw, for this cause they were slain.

41 - Then they all blessed the just judgment of the Lord, who had discovered the things that were hidden.

42 - And so betaking themselves to prayers, they besought him, that the sin which had been committed might be forgotten. But the most valiant Judas exhorted the people to keep themselves from sin, forasmuch as they saw before their eyes what had happened, because of the sins of those that were slain.

43 - And making a gathering, he twelve thousand drachms of silver to Jerusalem for sacrifice to be offered for the sins of the dead, thinking well and religiously concerning the resurrection,

44 - (For if he had not hoped that the that were slain should rise again, it would have seemed superfluous and vain to pray for the dead,)

45 - And because he considered that the who had fallen asleep with godliness, had great grace laid up for them.

46 - It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins.
