Hi Chayil18,

Please do you think a doctor at the hospital you used can give me letter to support my tourist visa application?

I'm looking for a Doctor that can assist me with that.

Chayil18:
Hello all,

Got in on Tuesday. Got visitors visa (wasn't pregnant when i applied but sent a letter to the embassy). POE was tough but was stamped in for 6 months.
Now i am in a fix, the doctor i got is in Scarborough but i'm now living in Missisauga (Milton).

Please can anyone assist with a doctor close to Mississauga ?

I've tried getting but yet to see any willing to accept me.

Your urgent response is appreciated

Dear House, I wish to thank everyone who has been assisting people with information for their love and patience.

I have a situation that I would like you guys to weigh in on, please.

I am about to start a new job in Nairobi and will have to relocate. As a Zonal Specialist, I will be coordinating our work in 17 African countries meaning I will always been on the move.

Now, I am pregnant and would like to birth my baby in Canada. Please here are my concerns

1. Can I apply for tourist visa and indicate that I am going for child birth. My second baby. I intend to ask my doctor in Canada to send a support letter. I will also book hotel and flight in advance. Please is this the right type of visa?

2. I want to apply here in Nigeria but what if they are still with my passport by the time I need to travel to Nairobi and other countries. What do will I do?

3. Can I apply from Kenya after settling in. I have a work permit. My family will relocate with me except hubby who will be in Nigeria. Will be it wise?

Apologies for the long post but I need to explain my situation so the advice I receive will be useful.

Anybody with a better idea , kindly suggest to me.

God bless you all

Thank you very much. I am applying right away while I'm still here.

@Chijudy,

1. Ask on here https://www.nairaland.com/1346880/giving-birth-canada/106
2. I'd suggest you do an online application. That way, you won't have to drop your physical passport, it will only be requested when your application has been approved.
3. I believe its not a bad option too. Just that your home ties won't be as strong as if you were to apply from Nigeria. Personally, I'm more inclined towards applying online from Nigeria.

Best of luck.

pls a quick question guys.

what does IELTS TEST FORM NUMBER mean?

can i get it from my online results? or i have to wait till i get the hard copy?

thanks
IELTS test form number is the number corporate bodies like CIC can use to verify your result. It is found towards the end of the result page and only on the hard copy. So you will have to wait for your hard copy result.

Guyz, I got Nova Scotia province nomination on tuesday and relaxing in the pool with a CRS of 900+expecting ITA next week wednesday by God's grace.

I have the following post ITA questions to ask:
1. Where should each/all documents be addressed to. Documents like PoF, employer reference letter, etc.
2. Has anyone successfully paid the application fee with a naira mastercard before especially someone with a family size of 4(considering the amount)
3. The issue of passport photograph, will I be required to upload for every member of the family(including toddlers) or just that of my spouse and I? Also, do I need to resnap another passport at PPR stage after snapping now for submission? Considering the fact that dates and some other info. have to be written at the back of the passports. If PPR comes like 4-6 months, hope the passport won't be too old since they usually say recent passport. How many copies of passports are required?
4. If a substantial amount of money(say 2M) is transferred from spouse's account to PA's account, is there any need to explain it or do gift deed especially when the narrative is something like "spouse immigration support"
5. What item(s) do I need to take to Alagbon, Lagos to obtain police clearance? Will I get it that same day? Who is required to do clearance? Only the PA or with spouse and children?
6. What items to I need to take along for medicals? What will be issued after the medicals at the hospital? Can we(including kids) eat before going for it as it's not advised if sugar level has to be checked?
7. What options do I have in terms of hospitals? The names and locations.
8. Can someone please describe how to drive down to Alagbon and the hospitals?

So sorry for the numerous questions. Just trying to avoid stories that touch ni. lol

Wish everyone here success in this pursuit.

One luv!

Ah!!!Congratulations bigbroda....Did you make your application on saturday? If so, please how did you manage to log into Nova Scotia's site on Saturday. I am asking so I can prepare better for next opening.

Congrats once again

Good observation. I must remark, though, that one thing I found very early is that a lot of people have created additional requirements not originally demanded by CIC. I think this 6-month statement thing is one of these. The POF requirements wants "date each account is opened", "the current balance of each account", and "the average balance for the past six months". If a financial institution provides all of these, nowhere does "a lump sum" become apparent. The current balance will state what's in the account presently, while the average balance for the past six month is an average of the current month & the previous five months. The lump sum is simply not visible.

The stanbic MMF letter I collected (which is one of what I presented) did not make anything evident, lump sum or not, though I opened the it sometime last year and have frequently topped up. From what was stated in the letter, I might as well have deposited some money yesterday and it wouldn't be obvious.

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying guys shouldn't explain "lump sums". In fact, I think explaining is a good thing. But while it may be a good thing, I feel it goes beyond what CIC requires. In the end, everyone's risk appetite is different and most are more likely to do what others did, if only it makes them feel a bit safer. I think that's what's been going on.

Also note that after submitting POF, the applicant is not immediately off the hook. CIC can always come back to request more POF documentation and a perceptive VO can satisfactorily establish if the applicant is trying to game the system.

Good morning Cochtrane, please did your bank address the letter to "CIC" or to "Whom it may Concern"? I am about to request for such letter from my bank. Also my money is tied in Tbills so I intend to request that they also attach my advice notice for each investment. Do you think this will suffice?

Thank you

Hi Chijudy. You have been advised correctly. I wedded in the Anglican church and i didn't do registry wedding except swear the oath and submit notification for marriage. I was told at Ikoyi registry that my church is licenced to issue marriage certificate. The certificate comes in triplicate copies, one for couple, one for church & one for registry, usually submitted by the church. In fact i helped the church to submit the copy meant for Ikoyi myself. I think it depends on the church and if they are licensed.

Thank you Newmum.... and all others that addresses this question. I got it now. Ours was in Catholic Church so we are good. I hope people with similar situation can read the responses though.

Newmum... pls can I PM you?

Not sure. When I got married(I’m catholic) we were told we didn’t need a certificate from the registry as Catholic Churches issue the same marriage certificate as the registry. So maybe check with your religious institution first.

Please are you saying one can use the certificate issues by Catholic church as legal evidence of marriage for this immigration purpose?

We just commenced the registry process so if it is the same we can as well save our money.
