ugoboss26:
In my entire years of schooling from kindergarten to my university level...I am not sure I spent up to 4 million in total for tuition, but here I am...I can still be outspoken enough, speak good English to a high standard and interact with those who attended these big schools without feeling inferior knowledge wise.

Moral lesson: Be confident your kid is worth spending all that amount on, if not it's gonna be a total waste if he/she can't even spell "psychosis" like my corper friend from covenant university.

Different strokes for different folks...

No one having completed Tertiary Education has total knowledge of all subject matter in his field of study not to mention all the Words in the dictionary. So calling out a particular school because of one of its students inability to spell a certain word is flawed judgement, as you stated the topmost priority is being able to communicate seamlessly with minimal error...
Let's not make mention of the various public schools whose graduates can't even complete a single sentence in plain English or can't differentiate last name from first name or adverb from adverbial phrase (I could go on and on)...
Remember; it's about the product not the institution

EmmyDe25:

I would say its preparation... when you do your home work you stand a great chance of easing through any job interview. Bear in mind, being nervous is natural just dont let that get into you.
Ive been called up to come pick up an employment letter in a coy i have only 30% of what the job requires. The HR man just said he loves my boldness; not that i'm that bold anyways. I later dropped the job when i got a better offer elsewhere which i once talked about on this platform.
Additionally, during my NYSC period i could remember downloading a truck load of interview FAQs which i read like a daily devotion, to get me ready for interviews... thankfully, i started working a month after youth service after turning down a list of coys due to them bringing to the table salary i felt weren't good enough.

PS: Just keep building and improving yourself, there is no limit to what you can attain.

Pls sir, what method of job application were you using to get called up for interviews. So far I have a low application to interview rate. I believe I have the requisite qualifications, degree and certifications but it seems I haven't just gotten something right.
Please I would appreciate ur contribution and advise.

Currently enrolled in New Horizons, they are the only ones certified by EC-Council here in Nigeria for training and examination (as far as I am aware of)
I wld rate their training 65% as they provide you with tools and learning manuals bt you may not have the chance of trying out exploits on demo networks...which I believe is provided in India and other more advanced countries.

What are you learning as a certified ethical hacker thus far?

Just three weeks into the course, I have covered Fingerprinting/Reconnaisance- which is the process of gathering information about your target using various techniques. You learn what are the necessary information required to carry out a successful hack, ways of identifying those vulnerabilities; ip addresses, usernames & passwords, Web Servers, DNSs, software versions e.t.c.
We have also learnt things to void like flash drives that you cannot verify the sources as well as started using some tools.

Soon we would get to the good stuff: SCANNING, where you probe for open ports, ip addresses, passwords e.t.c.

Anyways, I am just three weeks into the course, so I still have a lot to learn

Just got back to Nairaland now after some time.

In the process, I was able to obtain my CCIE in security in late 2012 and have been working with a Cisco partner/System Integrator since then.

I've however deployed solutions in wireless, MPLS and DC. Also skilled in checkpoint and riverbed among others.

I wanted to attempt CCIE SP/DC this year but the motivation was not there...

Wooow!! And you started from sociology?
You have really inspired me sir...
You bagged the dreaded CCIE at one sitting...CONGRATS sir!
I am a CCNP, currently undergoing training in CEH & wld take the CEH exam before the end of the year. I am good at PC repairs n maintenance as well as graphic n web design ...
The problem is that I am confused where to specialize, while some of my friends are suggesting we go to India for certifications others are suggesting masters while I believe a little experience is needed first at least to get some cash to fund the expenses needed for certification...

I think I am in need of a mentor embarassed and wld really appreciate your contribution smiley

My lil bro's phone, a tecno h5 has refused to come on (it doesn't boot up at all, no android or tecno logo on restart ), i removed the battery, SD card, MMC and reinserted the battery after a minute but it still refuses to start.
I have tried all the combinations to boot into recovery mode but it still doesn't come on.
I then plugged it to it's powers source, after a few minutes it showed select boot mode (volume_up to select volume_down e.t.c) with a cursor hovering up and down. Pressing any of the volume buttons doesn't help.

please do you have a solution or I should just ask him to take it to carlcare.

*Only God noes what that boy has been doing with the phone*

You made a valid point, I must say but transmission in all those places is less likely than in schools where children play freely by holding hands, even going further by sharing water bottles, stationeries e.t.c.

On a lighter note; I usually ignore grammatical blunders but this

Terry's legs are tired but experience is needed at the back, this is why he is important, to organise the back four especially now in the absence of Cech.

Ivanovic drive forward has been menacing and I believe he is playing according to the coaches instruction.
If there is ever need to park our bus you would see the hardened Ivanovic in action.

The ones we have now nkor...only David Alaba, Oguchi n Ogbonna would offer us anything better because we lack real quality at the heart of our defence

Meanwhile what has happened to Obafemi Martins that we pleaded with to play for Nigeria, where is he today in the super eagles n let us not mention Victor Moses who has declined steadily since his first game with the Super Eagles. What of Sone Aluko, Bright Dike, Leon Balogun and the list goes on...

Our problems are not the players alone, its the entire system, its not Just Keshi or Mikel angry its the entire system from Danagog (sports minister) down to the players meanwhile we also the fans have to share the blame too angry

tonero4urch: I finished my service in february 2014. I could remember travelling all the way from Niger state where I was serving to Lagos for Bristow helicopters cadet test which wasn't successful afterwards. After my service, I wrote NIS test at National stadium, Lagos and my guess is as good as yours as regards to that. I later got a job as a personnel delivery officer with truerebel fashion company at ikorodu but quitted after 1month because of the meagre salary coupled with too much stress and exhorbitant tfare(I was coming from Isheri-Oshun in ikotun) and the salary was poor. Since then, I have written PZ test twice; I didn't pass the PBT( 1st stage). I reapplied again and passed the 1st stage but didn't pass the CBT (2nd stage). I wrote Deloitte test but didn't pass the 1st stage test(PBT). Also, i wrote Asso mortgage bank test by Dragnet but didn't pass the first stage test(CBT). I also wrote a test at DCC amuwo odofin where I scored 6/6 which was organised by DCC/SOL recruitment agency, I was interviewed and I passed but wasn't called to start work(I wonder why). I also wrote a test with Accion microfinance test and passed but didn't take up the job because of their requirements(2years bond with 39k monthly salary) However, I am waiting for Lagos Verbatim Reporting interview we just did some weeks ago and also waiting for NPA to call us for interview for fire fighters post. So on the interim, I am with my in-law in the clearing and forwarding business so I can be a licensed clearing agent pending when my dream job comes. In all, it has been quite a frustrating and energy sapping experience; someone once asked me jokingly(I took it seriously though) why I haven't gotten a job despite going for series of interviews. I felt like the ground should open and swallow me that day. I know that one day, God will surely see me through and bless the works of my hands, I know he sees my efforts. I am not in the least deterred by these challenges because it makes me a stronger person. One love !!!

Bro! Ur not alone...
That's why the thread was created...
So we all could come here n synergise our energies n ideas irrespective of the dissappoinments and one day we would all look back and SMILE!!

Seems like Razi1 is scared of mentioning someone... cheesy cheesy

Let me call her for you... Safarigirl

But its too early to crucify Keshi in my opinion, Keshi may not be the best coach as the likes of Marcello Lippi, Guus Hiddink, Joachim Low, Aragones(late), Trappatoni but he has taken Nigeria from its lowest point begining from 2006 where we cldnt qualify for the World cup against a lowly Angola side then 2008 where we crashed out shamefully from the Nations cup to Ghana continuing to 2010 where we cldnt leave the group stage of the world cup and reaching the height in 2012 where we cldnt even qualify for the nations cup against Equitorial Guinea....

Let us not forget the abyss we came from so soon where we lost the savour of watching Super Eagles matches...
Now keshi has taken us from there to Continental champions, world cup round of 16...yes our wins may have not been pretty but the win is all dt counts in the end... Meanwhile keshi's eagles have produced many stellar performances most notably during the nations cup against CIV, Mali, his Chan eagles against CIV SA and Morocco

For now I think we should leave Keshi and let us watch th SA game, only after then shld we judge...

Although people are clamouring for dislike button which I also feel is important I hope you also consider adding the 'Followers' header under each person's profile so that NLnders would know those that are following them and with whom they have shared info since the Share button actually shares with their followers and not those they are following.
