Good morning all, I want to know if sending message or calling immi has any effect on how the visa is being decided because my visa has delayed too long and I want to strongly write them to finalize already but I’m scared so they will not use anger and go and deny it. Any suggestions please?

It means your medicals need further assessment by the MOI doctors to decide your case, and don’t be too quick to conclude things when your not sure, Australia is a no nonsense country and her immigration dept is the toughest ever in the world, so always ask for clarity if you don’t understand your application status ma.

Of course I do understand my status as I have done extensive research on that and found out that am in almost the last stage and my visa journey can be finalized any time soon so I think you are the one not really getting it right.
Besides I wasn’t asked to do medicals as mine is a short term visa.

@skydude, I applied since dec 11 and was asked to add my birth certificate on 15th and my status is showing “further assessment ”. I’m supposed to go for honeymoon with my hubby who is already an Australian citizen on March 10. But he had to travel back alone and I had to postpone my work leave again to this April. I pray they get to dec people. I heard because of this commonwealth games applications tripled and so much backlogs.

Ps: Mine is tourist visa too so my advice is for you to forget Australia and travel to America.

Was there no grant this week? Abeg someone should come and post the good news so we that are still waiting can still have hope.

I kept calling the number I saw on their site +27124236060 but they didn’t pick and my credit was just going though I did that 500 naira bundle stuff. I later checked and saw where @ solitin40 posted another number +27124236203, I called that and after sometime they picked and asked for my passport number, the lady said she will contact the case officer in charge of my application. She kept asking me when I intend to travel. I told her on the 16th of this month. I pray she takes my case seriously so they can attend to me. I want to still call them tomorrow.

I also applied dec 11 and updated dec 15. Still waiting, I wrote to them on Thursday before Easter and am still waiting for their reply

@solitin40, chai!!your description is very funny. I can so relate to what your agent did. I did the same thing for my younger sister some years back when she was seeking admission into the university. When I saw her result and she was admitted then I called her and started with my voice very low, that I’m so sorry, infact as I started saying I am sorry she burst into tears and I just told her you are admitted, see shout eh! It feels good to surprise someone like that sometimes. In all we thank God. Infact your case has given me hope.

Congrats Solitin40, it was long overdue. I didn’t know they grant visa on weekends. I pray they grant mine, it’s taking too long.

Good morning everyone, nice job, I have learnt a lot from this thread. I’m a new member and will like to ask a question. I applied for tourist visa on Dec 11 2017 and stated that I will travel on March 10 with my new husband for honeymoon. That my leave from work will start from March 1st and end March 29th and am expected back to work on April 3rd, now as today my immiaccount is still showing further assessment and the leave period is almost over. I wrote to them and they replied that my application is still on the queue, hope when they finally pick it up, it will still be granted.
Will the expiration of leave affect it because I’m scared.
NB: my husband is already an Australian citizen and deliberately stayed in Nigeria from Dec till March because he wanted us to travel together. We had our trad on feb 10, which was all included in the letter he submitted to immi.
Phew!!! For a first timer, I really wrote o but please my good people come to my aid. Help me throw more light on this my case.
