This crucial role ensures the smooth operation of the 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, by assisting in various technical tasks. The positions are for qualified applicants who are technically sound with requisite experience in electrical.

Conduct of surveys, market research, data analysis and data visualization very important for this role.
3. Project Management, concept note and proposal writing for grants from potential Donors
4. Liaise with the Research Department from other organizations/Government agencies
5. Design, Preparation and Management of Research & Advocacy programs of the
Chamber including donor-funded research projects.
6. Monitoring & Evaluating Macroeconomic policies and sectoral issues to generate topics for discussion at the Bi-Annual Economic Review and Outlook Seminars.
7. Preparation of weekly, monthly & quarterly economic reports to Assistant Director, Research and Advocacy for submission to Council & Exco
8. Compilation, periodic analysis and interpretation of economic and statistical data, through research of the economic and development issues in the country and production of relevant reports aimed at promoting a more conducive business environment in Nigeria.
9. Prepare discussion papers on policy-orientated economic issues for discussion at the chambers business roundtable forums.
10. Prepare draft position papers and memoranda of the Chamber.
11. Support the advocacy function through provision of timely information on macroeconomic issues and other Government policies that have potential to affect the business community adversely.
12. Provide regular information on trends of major economic indicators such as inflation rate, interest rate, global oil prices, exchange rate, as well as domestic and external debt. These are featured in reports to EXCO and Council periodically.
13. Keep an up-to-date record of policy pronouncements by the Government at both the State and Federal levels.
14. Gather sectoral data on the performance of the various sectors of the economy for preparation of quarterly sectoral report.
15. Carry out other assignments as may be assigned by the Director and Director-General.

Job Requirements/Competencies

• B.sc/HND in Economics.

RESPONSIBILITIES
General/Office Management
• Plan and and adhere to the administrative procedures and systems and devise ways to streamline processes.
• Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information to facilitate business operations.
• Manage schedules and deadlines.
• Vetting/ensuring prompt payment of statutory bills to relevant bodies/ authorities (PHCN, water rate and other local government charges).
• Managing / monitoring diesel usage and supply.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES
Education: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Social Science, Business Management or its equivalence. Master’s degree or professional membership relevant professional qualifications such as ICSA, ISMNc, CIM, (required) etc.

Experience:
8 years cognate experience and minimum of 3 years as a Supervisor of administrative activities will be a good advantage. The candidate must also demonstrate experience in core functions of the role.

JOB OPENING FOR THE POSITION OF AN ASSISTANT TECHNICAL MANAGER

Objectives
To advise the Chamber on physical development of Trade Fair facilities; assist in design and maintaining standard layout befitting an International Trade Fair; ensure optimal and professional space allocation at the Trade Fair site. General Monitoring and Maintenance of the Chamber’s Properties, liaise with Property Managers of the Chamber.
Reports to: Director/Principal Technical Manager
To supervise: Senior Officers, Officers, Project Personnel.

Principal Responsibilities
I.Maintain and improve electrical and mechanical equipment and systems for Lagos International Trade Fair and other specialized exhibitions
II. Assist in carrying out surveys and physical assessments of venues/spaces to evaluate the functional state of the facilities/services and recommend fitness for the Lagos International Trade Fair and other specialized exhibitions
III . Assist in the design and production of floor plans and site layouts for the Lagos International Trade Fair and other specialized exhibitions
IV. Assist on space allocation to exhibitors in an efficient and professional manner, advise on construction of structures required for exhibitions of products and services and ensure it is orderly and professionally done
V. Ensures that all infrastructural facilities required for the Fair are put in place well in advance and initiates action on remedial work in liaison with management of the Trade Fair venue
VI. Ensures that all technical documentations required for the successful hosting of the Fair are put in place and brought to the notice of the concerned Commitee
VII. Initiates technical review meeting at the end of each Trade Fair in order to assess achievements and highlight lapses for future improvement
VIII. Assists in preparation of technical aspects of Trade Fair budget, work plan, project chart, monitor expenditure with respect to approved budget and recommend variation when circumstances demand.

Main Tasks
1. Assist in preparation of budget and tender documents.
2. Contract administration and project supervision.
3. Secretariat duties to Building and Operations Committees of the Chamber
4. Conduct Pre-fair and Post-fair facility condition assessment and advise on the state and suitability for Trade Fairs
5. Prepare specifications and scope of work for project works to be executed within the department. Prepare necessary documentations, drawings, estimates, price surveys and case studies to be used as basis for tendering by contractors
6. Produce report on tenders submitted and advice as necessary
7. Prepare letter of contract award to contractors
8. Advise and certify quality of work done and recommend for payment
9. Secretariat duties to;
a. Building Committee of the Chamber
b. Operations Sub-Committee of the Trade Promotion Board
10. Organize meetings and produce meeting reports for the above Committees
11. Conduct and supervises contractors before, during and after the Trade Fair
12. Ensure all facilities are evaluated and fixed properly for the annual Trade Fair
13. Any other task or responsibility as may be assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES
Education: The prospective candidate must be an engineer (electrical, mechanical, civil) with experience in cooling technology and facility management.
Experience: 8 years cognate experience and minimum of 3 years as in the capacity of a supervisor will be a good advantage. The candidate must also demonstrate experience in core functions of technical operations.
Skills:
Communication Skills: Excellent Communication skills (both in written and in verbal form)
Ms Office: A candidate for the position must be highly proficient in the use of Ms office, AutoCAD, proficiency, teamwork, eye for details and analytical skills.
