Business / Re: What Do I Do??? Issues With A Customer After Phone Purchase. by chizzasquare(f): 3:09pm On May 12, 2021
Stevengold:
Good morning all, so I work with Jforce team,
someone met be to buy a phone, and asked a cheap phone, I recommended the umidigi a7 Pro, of which I ordered for the lady, 9 - 12 days after purchase, the screen had horizontal lines on it without impact, according to her, she called me, I took it to Jumia retail store close to where I stay, I was told the date of return is 7 days and have elapsed.

Sorry bro. I don't know if you will still find this helpful at this time, but at least for those who are seeking help out there.

I understand that you took the responsibility of trying to help for the sale to go through.

However, as an experienced salesperson, I can tell you for free that, a simple sale of order-pay-deliver can turn into something more complex.
Always, remember the following for your own good:

1. Do not get too personal during sales.
The lady on assumption believes that, by your actions (defective product resolution) , you are somewhat directly responsible for the damage, and assumed you are a staff of Jumia or on the side of the seller.

2. Always make your position clear from the beginning: I am not the seller.
The lady has assumed that you have influence on changing the item after discovering the damage.

3. Disclaimer! Disclaimer! Disclaimer!
If you are an affiliate of a program, carry a disclaimer document to be signed on every sale by your customer(s) which indemnifies you of any claims or repair or damages whatsoever.

Don't fall for the "it doesn't matter" syndrome. You will pay dearly for it with a very ruthless customer.

I'll save the rest for later.

As far as this situation is concerned, take the buyer to Jumia and point her to the Seller's Online store by a (physical) Jumia Customers Service Agent not online. Let her use her ear to hear it from Jumia directly that you are not responsible for the damage. In one of my experiences working at LG, I had to take the woman to LG Surulere, where I purchased the product as an LG Authorized Distributor who owns a store and they explained the warranty terms to her before she left me with her wahala.

Alternatively, you can look for a middle ground, otherwise, hmmm...you will be dragged for no reason and it can end badly, beyond your wildest imagination.

Good luck.

Education / Re: Students In Viral Shisha Video Suspended: Lagos Orders Their Rehabilitation by chizzasquare(f): 3:48pm On Apr 19, 2021
This is really sad. Girls at this age were playing "ten-ten" in school in the 1990s.

Rehabilitation is a good move but please do not suspend them from school.

As girls, their education is more beneficial to them and the impact of lack of education will lead them to worse vices like prostitution, thereby wrecking more homes and the society at large.
So sad! cry

Lol.

Clown.
You work for one of these loan sharks and assume that anyone who points out the infeasibility of their models could not get their loans?
Ignorant and dull.

I am beyond you in every possible way.
Think of this as a gift from me to you.
You can't give what you don't have.

Like I said: keep looking.
Don't come here to pour your frustration of unsuccessful loan applications on me.

Move oga. Shameless

You are spectacularly ignorant. Can't deal.

And you are beyond extremely rude to qualify for a loan. I don't blame those who couldn't have you employed. Keep looking! Dogs licking their sorry wounds of failing to succeed at the "simplest" things.

ThothHermes:
Emeka finished youth service two years ago and has been searching for a job without success. He has decided to go into the business of buying farm produce from the North where he served and selling in Lagos for profit. Problem is he has no capital. He needs at least 150k to commence on a small scale. Your apps have refused to give him money because he has no credit history. Are you saying he is not justified in wanting a loan?

Unemployment is rife in Nigeria, how do you expect people who need money to build a cashflow that will enable them to build creditworthiness?

Tell Emeka to learn how to make money first.
Also, tell Emeka that, if he wants to start business he cannot go and take a loan when he has never made money in his life.

You don't just start a business.
You grow a business with your idea from scratch.
If his business cannot create value to make money (no matter how little), he cannot prove to any investor on earth or in heaven that he is credit-worthy.

So, you can see that loans are for "busy"-"ness" people, not idle people.

It's for income earners. You can't get the loan if you don't have a consistent cash-flow. This makes it not useful for most Nigerians. The lenders do not want to take any risk.

And why would you want to take a loan when you have no cashflow? How will you pay back? Be realistic and listen to what you are saying.

If you have some creditworthiness, no matter how small, the system will still give you a capped figure, but it will inform you of how much you can access BASED ENTIRELY ON YOUR MONTHLY CASHFLOW.

somehow:

You must own a current account
must have a monthly flow of income into the current account.

For salary learners, the current account must have been running for 6 months
for business owners, must have been running for 1 year.

Before it was strictly for salary earners

No sir.
You are not current. angry

Two staff with Savings Account got the loan.
They didn't need to visit the bank.

I repeat Savings Account!
Maybe you are talking to the wrong person.

GTBank QuickCredit is a "system loan" facility, meaning, you do not have to interface with anyone.

When you dial the code, the system will evaluate the Account History of your Accounts and make the calculation on ANY account that is eligible, and produce a maximum eligibility figure you can access as loan.

If you are still hoping for a staff to put you through, then let me shock you, staff have NO ACCESS to how the loan is disbursed. That is why I said it's a SYSTEM LOAN.

Good morning.

somehow:

only for salary earners

Wrong sir.
It is for every customer who is credit-worthy. It does not have to be for salary earners alone.
If you run a business and your income statement shows that you are credit-worthy, the bank will honor your loan.
It's as simple as that.

Pls dont see it that way. Most of the time you are either passing by from a distance and may not be allowed to go in and have a word with whoever is in charge. You could really be endangering your own safety with riff-raffs all over the street where the construction is going on.

You're not the one to decide when a rape victim should "open up". Most of them live with the shame and trauma for years and eventually open up when they feel it's the right time. We don't know the cause of the beef between Timi and the pastor, but it's most likely because of what the pastor did to his wife.

As much as I want to give Timi's wife kudos for her bravery, I still feel Timi is hell-bent on achieving something.
That thing he wants to achieve is what I don't know.

And yes. If Fatoyinbo did what he did, he won't be left alone. Trust me. Women will hate him and when women hate you, there is a lot to contend with, believe me.

Business / Re: Business Opportunities In Nigeria! by chizzasquare(f): 12:03pm On Jun 13, 2019
My dear Nairalanders, business opportunities abound in this country.
The real problem is not the opportunities; the real problem is the system by which our dear country is structured.
But more to it is how we make Nigeria's problem over-amplified instead of going ahead to try.
Every billionaire has problems. And so does the poor. But, there is a difference in their access in life.

As a seasoned Real Estate Advisor / Financial Investment Advisor, I can tell you for FREE, that you can buy cheap lands and build your homes or shops for rent or resale with a small target profit in view.
But a lot of people are afraid (for best reasons known to them) about Nigeria, the Economy, the Government, the Police etc.
And so I ask:

Investments work with time!
Compounding interest can make you a millionaire, especially if you are young! Take the median income in the United States today: $50,000 a year. Now the average 25-year-old making $50,000 a year would only need to save and invest 10% and would have a staggering $2,434,221 at 65!

For how long will you wait?
A lot of us (at this young age) still wish we were younger by another 10 years and you still feel you have to be sure?
If you are ready to make mistakes, honest but real life mistakes, then you need to deal with risks or there would be no reward.

So, start now. Not tomorrow.

[UPDATED]

I WANT TO ADD NEW ONLINE LOAN PROVIDERS IN NIGERIA TO THE LIST.

11. SnapCredit

SnapCredit provides instant credit solutions to employees. We collaborate with employers and provide their staff with an online platform to access loans.

Our platform eliminates all the hassle and gives employees instant 24/7 access to credit at very competitive and fair rates.

More and more employers are inundated with requests from their employees for financial assistance. Bank loans and Micro-finance loans take weeks to secure, come at high interest rates and require paperwork from both the employee and his employer. SnapCredit provides a technologically driven alternative to accessing credit.

About SnapCredit
SnapCredit Limited is an authorized, regulated direct moneylender based in Lagos. The company has been active in Nigeria since 2014 and is part of the Snap-Capital financing group (www.Snap-Capital.com), which focuses on providing innovative, technology driven financial services in emerging markets.

How it Works?
Apply online - Employee applies for a loan on his mobile, tablet or PC.
Get your money - Real time verification. Once verified - money is sent to the employee’s bank account instantly.
Repayment - Done by the employer in the form of monthly deductions from the employee’s salary.

A lot of Nigerians do not know about GTBank's Quick Credit!

I use GTBank for my business but I saw this GTBank Quick Credit flyer (attached) in my mail some time ago.
So, yesterday, I tested this on one of my staff who needed a loan, whose salary account is in GTBank (all my staff salary is paid through GAPS).
She insisted on walking down to RenMoney because a Sales Lead had assured her she would access a loan and get it quickly after all the documentation. So before she left, I said to her, "try this first and if it does not work, you would at least have another option open." so she agreed.

Using *737*51*51# on her GTBank SMS Alert Mobile Number Line tied to her account, we got a prompt saying she was qualified for a loan of N384,265.00 but she only needed a loan of N165,000.00. And we were given an option to take that as a loan or input the actual amount. So, we did the latter, entered the amount (N165,000.00) and the prompt asked for her PIN and she entered it and was told she would wait for an SMS prompt.

I had a busy day so I was on my way out and she went back to her office and told me when she was done with her work, she needed permission to go to RenMoney, which I granted.

Roughly 1 hour 45 mins later (or thereabout), she told me she had been credited. I was really, I mean really surprised!
No documentation! Nothing. Like Wow!
She said she was still waiting in line at the RenMoney when she fiddled with her phone and just saw a transaction on the GTBank app showing her branch name and the full amount credited.

Much later, I got to know that other categories of customers could also benefit.
So, I believe it works. And kudos to GTBank and their 'thinking caps'.
