Dear Nairalanders,

Please I need the experts in the house to give me an advice or answers for the following points below;

I have a 7 bedroom duplex which is now at the stage of installing Air Conditioners and A Generator to carry them as well as other normal electrical appliances we find in a home.

The room sizes are - 6 rooms are 12ft x 12ft
Masters Bedroom is 16ft by 20ft
Two Sitting rooms - 16ft 18ft, & 26ft 25ft

I am looking at fitting 1.5hp each for the 12ft x 12ft rooms, one 2hp for the Masters Room and two 1.5hp each for the sitting rooms. Total AC - 11.

There will be One Standing Freezer, One Fridge , Tv's for each rooms, A ceiling fan for each room and 5 for Sitting room one and 2 for sitting room 2. Sumo pumps, Lights - energy , Fencing lights - (up and side - 25) . etc.

The questions are -

What capacity of generator (KVA) can power all these assuming all units are switched on at same time?

Is the capacity of A/Cs above adequate for the rooms - any advice(s)

Is it better to use Window Units or Split Units - If so why - advantages and disadvantages apart from initial purchase costs.

Any supplier of Used / New Silent Generators (Diesel)

Any Supplier for A/Cs in the house -

Which Make of A/C and Generators are recommended.
