Do you have a business or active business you are currently doing and how did you manage to prove in your sop that it's of great economical worth and value that will assure your return to the country and also justify having to spend all these resources on your education. From what you said so far, there hasn't been much economical ties especially seeing the huge support coming from 3rd parties(uncle) and you having to liquidate your investments for your study. Just as someone asked you, what are you coming back to after the studies. Can't just be land Aside our house which is under construction, my husband and I got a letter from my employer stating that my position would be open for me when I come back. |

Which school is that? I think you can get refund minus administrative fee when your present a fresh rejection letter.
Do not be discouraged, in my case, after the first rejection, I only reapplied so that I can get a rejection letter to apply for refund because everybody I consulted said my case is impossible, although I added few documents that I didn't add before...
Lo and behold, I was approved, I dedicated this approval to God, He made impossibility to be possible...
So read their refund policy very well again, I don't think any school will not refund if you did not succeed in getting permit...
More power to your elbow... Their refund policy states that, the visa refusal letter should not be more than 6 months and for each intake, there are specific dates that if u apply for refund after that date, ur money won't be refunded. So, for Fall, 2023 intake, it is 4th of October. Any date beyond this, your money has gone forever. University of Windsor that's the school name. |

First sorry for the refusal. How did you come about 22,500,000 to be 72,000cad even using the old rate.
7.5m is a very significant sum for your uncle to gift you. You might have to also add supporting documents to prove his source of income. What and what did you do to prove relationship with your uncle?
The investment, what kind of investment is it? Are the funds easily accessible? How did you package and present your sop because trust me, that's key especially in cases where you are bringing in different sources of incomes and supports from 3rd parties.
Lastly, if you are to resume September, best bet now is to just defer to next session, order your gcms notes before you refire again. Work on the sop very well. Unfortunately pof you will be requiring now has even almost doubled in value. Goodluck Firstly, my uncle is an Engineer who is employed in a company he has worked for years and he also runs engineering consultancy services which I stated. I used the rate as at the date I put in my application which was at 345 as at May 20th. The investment has a maturity date of 3rd September and my bank gave me a letter to that effect aside from the investment certificate, I also included the investment bank statement. In proofing my relationship with my uncle, I included his birth certificate, my dad's death certificate, his place origin certificate and that of mine, our picture together with other family members, his picture with my late dad and their other two brothers, my picture with him. I don't think I can continue because the school can not refund you your fees if u apply for refund of fees later than 4th of October. What if I defer and same thing happen again, that means, I won't only lose the monies I have spent on this journey even the millions I paid the school. The school policy is a very selfish one and I can't dash them millions of Naira when I need the money more than them. |

Nairalandous19: So sorry about your denial, kindly request for GCMS notes, but from the little I can deduce from this is that your ties to home is not strong, that is if you had to sell your land, investments and all just to come to Canada to school, how do you plan on making your ROI? Do you have other properties/business bringing you back to Nigeria? By selling off your stuff it kind off shows you don’t have plans to come back to Nigeria, why did the gift deed come from your uncle and not your parents?(not saying your uncle cannot support you o).What did you use as your ties to home? My uncle is my dad's immediate younger brother and of which we bear same surname because I have not changed to my husband's name yet |

Christyiji: Second application denied again..
Yesterday was the 6th week of my application yet eligibility was still not started, I had to send them a mail. After sending the mail, not up to 3 hours, I received a mail from them directing me to my portal, I rushed to it and saw correspondence and I opened it only to see that my study permit was denied.
Tuition fee is 43,000, paid 4,000cad deposit and I had 72,000cad which is 22,500,000 as POF.
10m from investment and I attached every document for it, 7,500,000 gift deed from my uncle, I attached gift deed and the transfer slip and proof of relationship. 5m from sale of my land and I attached every document to substantiate this...
At this point, I do not know what exactly, VO is looking for to warrant him/her to deny me study permit.
I did justice to my application
Is it that the VO after seeing my mail, angrily decided to punish me |

Plead with them to attend to your application as the resumption is close and application has crossed processing time. Also send mails to all the team mail. I have already sent both webform and emails |

Could it be that the delay in my application is as a result of the fact that I used MBS? I feel if I had used printed bank statement, probably, they would made their decision by now.
August is here and am yet to know where I am |

Hi Christyiji,
Processing time is 6 weeks presently, so you might need to wait for one week before doing the suggestions below
You need to send emails to at least 5 visa offices Nairobi, Lagos, Beijing, Ottawa, Accra, titled URGENT and explain the toll the delay is causing you. if your resumption is fall 2023, then tell them you need to make travel arrangements quick. Just plead with them to push the application.
Please I want to plead and beg for a quick processing of my study permit request. I know you have many applications to process, and I recognize the hard work you put in to treat these requests, however, I want to ask for your understanding to process my request to allow me to make quick adequate arrangements before my school resumption. Thank you.
You adopt the bolded and add more as it relates to you. Thank you so much, I appreciate 1 Like |

I just had to create this to encourage the likes of christyjiji that your ppr would come shortly. I got mine on 21st June and till now I haven't been able to express the feeling. I had deferred last year fall start to this year coz of funds plus I just had my baby in march and admission came out in April 2022. I was only able to submit my visa application in mid may and got ppr 21st June Thank you @Osemigho, @just mellow and all others who responded to my questions last year before I deferred. To everyone, you can do it yourself. I got a supervisor, admission and now ppr myself though lots of work was involved. Juggling full time work, caring for kids/family. Submitted 15the May Biometrics done on the 19th and updated on the 22nd Medicals passed on the 23re Eligibility 17th June but I feel it was going on all along coz I got a request letter for my updated LOA on the 19th June. Correspondence/ppr on 21st. All the best people Please don't forget to commit all your actions to God in prayers. I say a big Amen to that sis... This thing is not easy.. daisy1: PPR ALERT!!
My PPR came in today at 7am.
I am a first time applicant and I have had a USA B1 visa refusal before.
BACKGROUND My initial target was to go to the UK to school because everyone I spoke to said Canada was hard to get into. Last year I applied to about 5 schools, 2 in UK and 3 in Canada.
Fanshawe responded really quickly, I almost didn't take it as I wanted George Brown, they had a course a bit closer to what I currently do, but one mind was like, just take what you see first, so I accepted their offer and I paid 9k CAD using my GTBank USD card. 2-3 months later, none of the other schools I applied to accepted me, George brown I really wanted, said my study gap was more than 5 years as the last time I was in school was in 2011.
I then came on nairaland and I read as much as I could from here, I even asked questions and I got responses. In my case, I have a fulltime job and 2 different side gigs, that pay me monthly so I needed to know if this would not affect me as I am self-funded.
THE APPLICATION
I did not need to write IELTS or verify my documents via WES. My application to Fanshawe was done via www.applyboard.com. I wrote my SOP myself, ensuring that I use headlines to break it so that it doesn't become a long read. One key thing I did here was explain how as an accounting graduate, I pivoted into Marketing. I treated my SOP as a story, ensuring that I hit the high notes really quickly without boring or oversharing irrelevant information. The headlines and a brief synopsis for what each section contains can be found below:
YOUR NAME The Visa Officer, Deputy High Commission of Canada, Lagos Nigeria. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
- Introduction: In this section, I gave my name, a bit of my educational background and the course I want to go and study in Canada. I ended this section with saying how this course will improve my career
ABOUT ME In this section, I gave some info about my family, If you are married, state that, have kids, state it here
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND in this section, I gave more information about my education, I only have a BSC in accounting, so to set the ball rolling for why I want to take a different path in my studies, I stated why I am making the switch to a different course of study.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE in this section, I talked about my work experience, showing a clear progression of my career from after university to date.
REASONS FOR PURSUING (INSERT YOUR COURSE NAME HERE) COURSE IN CANADA here I talked about why pursuing this course in Canada was important to me, in my case it was very important to get an additional degree in the field I currently work in, if I wanted to advance in my career.
WHY FANSHAWE COLLEGE IN CANADA? ExIplain why you chose this school and not any other. It would be great to look through your school's website and find out what makes them standout and add it in this section.
SPONSORSHIP OF MY CANADA STUDY TRIP Explain who is sponsoring the trip, if you are self sponsored like me, state how much you earn monthly, if you paid any part of your fees, state it here, state how much you have kept aside for upkeep. If you are sponsored by someone, tell the story about why this person will pay your fees, show a clear relationship and also state their monthly revenue or salary.
MY FUTURE PLAN here I talked about what I will do with the Canadian degree when I return to Nigeria
Overall, Make sure you stick to the point, tell a clear story about your life. The general rule of thumb for font size/type on SOP is times new roman, size 12 with a line spacing of 1.5 (I don't know if this is important, but it does make your writeup look neater.
THE SUBMISSION I submitted my application on March 30, these are documents I submitted I used the GCKey portal to submit. - All the IMM forms - Letter of acceptance - Passport - Digital photo - Medical e-sheet - Proof of funds (MBS for my USD account as well as MBS for my Naira account, Payment receipt from Flywire to fanshawe) - Client Information (see all the documents below) - SOP - Invoices I sent to clients for my side gig - My Payoneer account print out (if you are a freelancer, you will know what this is) - A picture of my car - My car ownership papers - My old scheghen visa -My full time job contract showing clearly that I am still going to be working for them, I am not on leave. This was my home tie. I did not need a study leave letter because of this. - Shares certificate I received from this fulltime job.
THE WAIT This is the timeline after submission - Upfront medical IOM - March 20 - Apllication was submitted - March 30 - Confirmation of application - March 31 - Biometrics letter - March 31 Biometrics done - April 5 Then silence... I scheduled emails via my gmail to send to the IRCC emails, Newyork, beijing, nairobi at least once a day. I just scheduled the email for 10 days in like 1 hour and I just left it, same email no changes and my subject line was URGENT - STUDY PERMIT. May 30 - Medical passed June 8 - Correspondence letter (BVL) Then silence again, it was unusual as BVL comes a few hours before PPR but mine didn't, so I started researching again. Then angie88 told me to create an account via https://ircc-tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login to check if I would see my visa document number. On June 9, I checked and my visa and study permit numbers were there under the Document status. I sent a couple of emails but I got a generic response.
THE FINAL APPROVAL. During the weekend, I had scheduled like 42 emails to go out to all IRCC offices starting from 10am today, but at 7am, I got the PPR. I had to stop all the scheduled emails immediately June 19 - PPR
TIMELINE - Upfront medical IOM - March 20 - Application was submitted - March 30 - Confirmation of application - March 31 - Biometrics letter - March 31 - Biometrics done - April 5 (Updated on GCkey same day) - May 30 - Medical passed - June 8 - Correspondence letter (BVL) - June 19 - PPR Congrats dear 1 Like |
