Jaygrl:
Hey mamas,I am thinking of just resigning from work to take care of my LO. I resumed back to work last week just as he turned 3months old. Before I resumed I introduced Nan because the breast milk I express won't be enough for him till I come back(we have not had power supply for like 1month 2weeks). I leave on the mainland and work on the island,I leave home say 5:40am with hubby so we have a nanny that takes care of my DS. I breastfeed him very well before leaving, some mornings he feels to sleepy to suck very well.

So to the issue now,I introduced feeding bottle to him like 1month before I resumed and he was taking it very well, just before I resumed he just stopped taking it. He doesn't take even the breast milk from spoon or bottles but he sucks breast very very well . So we resorted to forcing him even when he is crying to take the expressed milk/Nan via spoon. When he is very hungry,he takes say 60mls(then he starts crying, coughing so loud and sometimes ends up throwing up). This is what happens every single day since I started work,he seems to have lost so much weight. I come back say past 6pm as I close by 4pm for now.

So i came back earlier than normal yesterday,I opened the door with my key. The state I saw my son just made me breakdown, his clothes and bib was very wet,his eyes were red and teary. He just finished his milk of not even up to 60mls,for his cloth to be wet most likely he was pouring out the milk as he was been fed.

So I am wondering, for how long will we continue force feeding my 3months plus son when all he just wants is breastmilk directly from the breast itself at least for now. I actually plan quitting my job say October while I try to get a place close home, maybe I should resign by the end of this month and come take care of my DS before I lose him(he cries every time he is being fed till I come back home in the evening).

Sorry for the epistle,I am a first time mum and I am so confused at the moment. I love my son sooo much and I feel so guilty seeing him pass through this. Mum and mum in law thinks he will adjust but this is almost 2weeks now and he is even getting worse as he gets so angry at been fed with spoon. Mamas advice me oooooo
you can put him in a nearby creche that way you sneak out and breastfeed him, you'll also monitor him maybe he's not comfortable with the nanny

you don't need teething powder. Get him teething rings. Put it in the fridge for it to get cool (nut frozen please) then give ur to him to chew on.
As for the temperature, paracetamol would do.
If he prefers you rubbing the gums for him, always wash your hands thoroughly and check under your nails too.
she can use carrot too put in the fridge so that the child will use it and sort his/her gum. I've tried it as recommended by my paed

I used obio for my anc 3x but mehn crowd chased me back to a private hospital. Imagine being no 287 when I came by 7:40,I just ran.private hospitals charge #9k for it.I think its important for them to have introduced it.
hahahahaha their crowd is really something else but I still used the hospital for my 2 kids, I used to go before 5am in the morning that way my no will be with 30 and I will see the Dr on time and leave. I checked Princess Hospital that's my husband's company hospital I still prefer Obio because of their Docs

It's really expensive at your healtg centre o. Most private hospitals that I know give it for 8500/9k.
Interestingly you can administer rotavirus vaccine yourself. its an oral drop. If you're in lagos, medvacc sells it for #5650. alpha pharmacy sells for 6k/7k.
The vaccine is called Rotarix. check for their phone number online and place your order. take an ice bag when going to pick up.

am in Port Harcourt I use Obio Cottage Hospital it's too much see the difference
