samsolite: Create unallocated space while on Windows then use the partition manager during installation to create your partitions. A dual boot is possible. You'll probably need to run bootrec after you install Ubuntu to access your windows partition without hiccups |

hriz: Personally I discovered I can't shrink my drive beyond 70GB of free space. You could find out what yours is. If you have an unallocated space, you can't extend unless you free up from the other side |
Computers / Re: Ubuntu Linux by ciphoenix: 12:03am On Mar 31, 2015 |
hriz: Happens when files are in areas to be shrunk. Try defrag and if it doesn't work you might need to free up more space |

soladnet14: Damaged recovery. Flash a new one using Odin. |
Phones / Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by ciphoenix: 12:37am On Dec 04, 2014 |
busky101: No, it didn't lose any OS. it's just a case of damaged recovery partition. You have to install a new one via Odin/Download mode |
Phones / Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by ciphoenix: 11:01am On Dec 03, 2014 |
busky101: You do need a recovery. You could check what kind of recovery you have by booting up with power + Vol up + home button. If it's the stock recovery, you'll need to download CWM, TWRP, or any other CWM based recoveries. Or cannibal open touch recovery (a new one based on the CyanogenMod recovery) Edit: remember - flash recovery with Odin. flash rom with recovery |
Computers / Re: Ubuntu Linux by ciphoenix: 10:51am On Dec 03, 2014 |
dazekid: Turn off fast boot(from power options before shutting down) , secure boot and enable legacy support. Choose boot media on startup using F9 (that's the key on my laptop) Ensure the boot media has a EFI tag (in case you see 2) Install After installation, restore secure boot and turn off legacy support (if your install was a UEFI install it should work). It might still boot up Windows by default, just use f9 for when you want to boot into something else |
Phones / Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by ciphoenix: 10:45am On Dec 03, 2014 |
busky101: Get a tar version of your favourite recovery (CWM or TWRP) flash via Odin/Download mode Use the recovery to flash any custom rom (stock or AOSP) of your choice (the note 2 has too many available and they're easier to download than stock) |
