I admit, I was wrong to tag a 3 goals zero assist striker woeful.
I will align with your thoughts that he dropped because of his nationality, probably tribe or religion.
It was bonkers to suggest his output was poor.
Let the court rise! grin

Wrongy, wrongy. So wrong he needed to attack when he was proven wrong, instead of learning. grin

I have seen defensive midfielders get more numbers than Nsofor managed all season for West Ham. 3 goals with zero assists is woeful by any standard.
It's laughable that West Ham decided not to renew the contract or extend the loan deal of their supposed 3goals, zero assist best player.

You were wrong on Nsofor. You can move on.

Finito.

Bro, David Silver had always being an unbelievable genius before Guardiola said so.

Even meself acknowledged it as soon as I saw him played in his first season at Man city. It was for this reason I followed Rabiu fom Sporting Lisbon to PSV, Celtic, Kilmarnock, Trencin and finally Gent hoping he could turn out to be our own David Silva but the rest they say his history.
"I remember when I was in Barcelona," Guardiola said. "The first or second year I was there, Unai Emery, who is now the PSG trainer, was there [at Valencia].

"After the game we spoke about that and he told me, 'David Silva is the player for you, for Barcelona. Believe me, that is a player for Barcelona by far'. And he was so right, he's a special player

"He has something more special than awards. Awards are to put in the wardrobe."The opinion we will have in the future about his career will not be about how many individual prizes he has won. It will be about the opinion of his team-mates and his managers."

What Guardiola is saying here is that, now he is working with David Silva, he can see that Unai Emery, current PSG manager was right about David Silva being up there with Xavi or Iniesta.

I am still watching.

See. I know Silva is good and I have been watching him for years, since Valencia. Even in Silva's U17 and U20 days. However, there is something about him that leaves Guardiola marvelling at Silva's understanding of the game.

I am yet to decode it.

I will share if I decipher it.

His dribbles, positioning

So even when people criticise Osimhen's call-up, it might be this defensive attribute that draws Rohr's attention to him.

His dribbles, positioning

In the U20 World Cup when Nigeria lost to Brazil, keep in mind Gabriel Jesus played that game. Manu Garba criticised Iheanacho and blamed Iheanacho for the loss. I felt disappointed in Manu Garba because I felt the blame should have gone to the goalie who was atrocious.

During Amunike's open camp trial for the U17, Victor Osimhen showed up in camp and noticed that Amunike was not satisfied with the attackers until he screened.

Manu Garba criticised Iheanacho for not defending in front. And a young Osimhen during trials pointed out that the attackers trying out were not defending. When Amunike saw his defensive display as an attacker, he snapped Osimhen to the team and never looked back.

Mbappe in one of his games tracked back the whole length of the pitch and won the ball in defence of his team, close to the corner flag.

As I said, it took time to decode. Just as Guardiola wants keepers and defenders who are comfortable playing with the ball and initiating attacks with it, he likes his attackers/forwards being his first line of defence.

This is what Manu Garba pointed out in Iheanacho and what Iheanacho must develop.

Childish jibe. I have repeated my point over and over again. Kelechi Iheanacho is one of the most lethal finishers around. What Mbappe and co. have ahead of him is more all round play. It took me time to decode it, I am willing to learn. Now I get it. I keep studying Gabriel Jesus to understand what Guardiola wants.

As for the finishing, I rate Iheanacho ahead of them but I want Nacho to work hard to add more to his game.

Before you even started digging post, I clearly stated it here.

So, what is the key attribute that makes Guardiola rate Gabriel Jesus and Mbappe over Iheanacho?

He was absolutely explosive in the game against City. As a matter of fact, he got worldwide recognition on the back of the City performance.

Tell me the key attribute of Mbappe that makes Guardiola prefer him over Iheanacho.

So now you subtly admit you were arguing against Mbappe from the position of ignorance.
Sometimes, I wonder how you manage to keep a straight face and write some Fonthill things you write.

Straight face how. Unless you feel you are all knowing and you do not learn as time goes on. I was totally wrong on Mbappe. My stance has changed totally. There is nothing like keeping a straight face. I keep learning.

I can say, I watch David Silva intently to decipher why Guardiola feels he is an unbelievable genius. I have not seen what Guardiola is looking for and will keep looking.

Even in all those arguments in the past, no one hit why Mbappe is special. It is not just about goals that people were talking. It took me time to decipher it. Not from even watching Mbappe but Gabriel Jesus. Now I want to watch Mbappe games to see more of what I have deciphered.

I learn. That is why I can feel glad seeing my shift/growth in understanding. Not ignorance.

You are the one who is suicidal when you are wrong. Not me. I am glad when I learn something new.

Let's not derail the thread with this discussion. I believe I've made my point.
Although I must say Mbappe scored in both legs to bundle Man city out of the Champions league.

Scored in both legs, does not mean he was explosive. Keep in mind, there were attributes I was looking for to see if Mbappe was special. In that game, he failed to tick them. Today, the attributes I look for are far different because of growing in understanding.

That was why I wanted to read my stance then. It does not change.

So, attacking because someone proved his point, means you want to hold a rigid stance to an opinion even if you did not understand it.

Not me. I am eager to keep learning. I like to learn and get a deeper understanding of the game. I watch Gabriel Jesus and point to people where Iheanacho needs to adapt his game to meet the requirements Guardiola wanted from him.

The argument was that Kelechi was better than Mbappe. You used Kelechi's inability to get into the the City team as a defence and diversion while saying Mbappe can't get a game at Man City either.
If this isn't a jaundiced fan opinion, I wonder what it is.

You have made very colourful and often delirious comments to defend Kelechi, much so that you will be shocked to read some of your previous comments.

All this one your doing is what I call noise. That was an earlier assessment from a game. By the way, the attributes I used to score Mbappe, he does not blow me away with that.

However, if you want me now to break Mbappe down and explain why he is good and can go a long way, I can do that. That comes with studying, understanding and learning.

By the way, even now, Gabriel Jesus can not command a regular shirt at City.

Oh Come on. I made a clear point from my assessment of watching his game against City and I was not blown away. Some even compared Mbappe to a young Ronaldo. From what I saw, I disagreed.

I also stated I will continue studying him. With time, I got to understand what makes Mbappe special. Clearly stated it on this thread.

I can clearly state my stance was wrong.

Today, I can say I was judging Mbappe based on his finishing, which till now, is not mind blowing. Iheanacho back then, today is mind blowing when it comes to finishing. However, more is needed to meet up with the demands of the game today which Mbappe trumps. So, what is your problem?

House will not come to your rescue. I watched the highlight game of the Manchester City vs Monaco game. Watched the extended highlights repeatedly and was not blown away by Mbappe. Then I started hearing people comparing him to Messi. I went to check and felt shocked. Please, how can you say that guy will even start at City. You can be funny.

In the City game against Monaco, Mbappe was not explosive. I clearly stated that was where I drew my opinion from. I keep learning. I watch, study, make my inference. Watch again, keep understanding and aligning my position.

In the game against Monaco, it was Bernado Silva who was magical. In the two games, he tore us to shreds. Not Mbappe. Today Bernado Silva is in City and guess what, he is on the bench. Not a regular in any way.

Gabriel Jesus is still not starting regularly at Manchester City despite his rep and being the number nine of the Brazilian national team. It is funny that you believe before Mbappe blew and became a regular for the French team that you believe he would have commanded a regular shirt at Manchester City.

I think I will stop at this point. Incase you're not convinced yet, it will be my pleasure to pull more quotes

Please, Mbappe was a young forward growing. At that time, Mbappe was never going to walk into Manchester City's starting line-up. Today, Sane is one of the top players at Manchester City. Even won the EPL player of the month. When he came to Manchester City the first time, he was benching. It took him time to grow into the team.

Mbappe can start now because he has built his rep at Monaco. Before then, he would not walk into Manchester City's line-up. So, what is your problem with that?

It is you who ego of getting something wrong pains that you resorted to attacks.

At the moment, Sterling is our highest goal scorer. Sane has won the EPL player of the month. Aguero is Aguero, one of the best ever. Mbappe will not find it easy.

So please, I beg you, bring out the post, so I can read and assess.

The guy couldn't sustain the form over a period. 3 goals in 25 games without assist is paltry and not worthy of a contract renewal.
Obinna played the best football of his career for Chievo. Ever since he's been a journey man with nothing to show.

Still running in circles and talking Chievo. That is not the point. The point is so simple. Nsofor was good. He was in form and Grant dropped him. After Grant dropped him, the team tanked. We were even laughing about it then.

Honestly, some of your jaundiced opinions are legendary.

You thought you can Google stats and start arguing a point you did not watch. Even when others tried to point it out, you were forming Voltron. Now your have seen that there was a time Nsofor was voted player of the month for West Ham, you are talking purple patch.

You were wrong. Simple. Now you are talking Mbappe.

Stop running in circles and deviating from the point. In my discussion about Mbappe, I clearly stated I was judging him from the City game. I also clearly stated that I have not watched his games and will follow him.

Gave my preliminary assessment and say I will keep following him. Keep in mind that Gabriel Jesus is not having regular game time at City. City is difficult.

The point is that you were arguing about Nsofor as if you knew when you had no idea. When you saw you were wrong, you resorted to Iheanacho. Which is very childish.

He obviously hit a purple patch but couldn't sustain the form. If a forward player scored just 3 goals and zero assists in 25 games, he obviously flopped and deserves to loose his place in the team.
Alluding that he lost his place in the team because he's Nigerian is beyond absurd.
Some defensive midfielders contribute more than 3 goals and zero assists in a season.

He was in form and the coach chose to drop him. Simple. You did not watch it then. You did not know about it. Those who followed it have said Nsofor was good. You can keep arguing what you did not follow.

Pls will you stop judging the guy by his previous world cup performances that's about 3years ago mehn, spare the guy some slack . How many games did he even play in the world cup?, he has grown as a player. And about is dribbles, well he once had the most completed dribbles in a league season

I doubt anyone is arguing about Victor Moses ability. There is no debate in that. He is one of the gifted players in the game today. However, the criticism lies in his level of discipline when he dorns the green white green jersey of the Super Eagles.

Kovacic ain't in Form. He has not even started any Match in any Competition for Real Madrid this Season. He may not make the WC List except he gets back to form.

He was one of the best players in the Super Cup this season. Unfortunately, not long after that, he injured. That was why he was not playing. When once he returns, he will be back to the team. At the end of last season, he had the best dribbling stats in the La Liga.

Croatia will not leave him out.
