Okay, thanks a lot for this info. In between I noticed that your SWOP was processed in 9 days wow. That's impressive.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Coast2Coast: 9:50am On Dec 19, 2018
Thanks. I did. Since it was US, I only added my GTBANK Visa dollar account so that they can understand it. It has closing balance of $3000.00.
goingforward:
Congratulations @coast2coast,

Please for your SWOP did you add bank statements.
If you added SOA What was the amount of POF was it the same as the amount your spouse used fo study permit?

My fellow nairalanders grin it's been a while. Preparing to fly with my family and my schedule has been tight.
For the TRV hopefuls, God will answer you speedily before Christmas in Jesus mighty name. amen.

Journey to Spousal work permit while waiting for my visit visa to accompany my son and spouse to Canada.

Thanks for insight.
Applied online on 9/12/2018
Upfront medicals passed on 17/12/2018
PPR on 18/12/2018
Dropping passport on 19/12/2018.
Documents submitted are:
Proof of relationship (many wedding pictures and landed properties documents bought together )
My companies documents with Tax clearance
School enrolment documents
I applied for a visit visa for my older son, it was rejected that we should apply for a study permit with medicals.
I intend to submit that tomorrow.
In between, I am a pharmacist and I have started the processes of my Canada Pharmacists registration. The documents were also attached.
Thank you all.

How it all began:
My wife was issued Study Permit in Nigeria on 30/10/2018 with my two years old son. I applied for a visit visa on 31/10/2018 To accompany them and give them all necessary support to settle down. We fixed our proposed journey for the 8/12/2018. The visit visa didn't come. I sent cse to London, Lagos will reply. Active review and active processes. When I discovered that it won't come, I accompany them all the same to Istanbul, they proceeded to Canada, I proceeded to New York. While in New York, I applied for SOWP because I already have an outstanding visit visa pending and might be refused for purpose of visit since they left Nigeria as planned. Before I left Nigeria, I sent an email to Canada Visa office in New York if I can apply for SOWP, They gave the go ahead and even sent the VAC office address in New York. I applied immediately. I printed form 1-94 they confirmed my status in the USA and attached it. I am dropping my Passport in the VAC office Moro. I think the Nigeria situations made visa issuance difficult. I have learnt a lot in this journey. To God be the glory. I am writing thing on a phone , Pls pardon any mistakes and lets all use our strategies to achieve our Canada dreams. My Canada dream started this year after the study permit.
Thanks to all the fora of Nairaland. I researched a lot.
I also researched from other international fora. Then I realised that as a Nigerian you can apply for Study permit from USA. But you will need to supply verifiable websites to verify your documents. Like CAC and FIRS website which I did. All the best guys. It's possible

Hi people, Please i am relocating very soon and i'll like to cargo/send some boxes to my new location before i eventually leave the country. I have like 3 suitcases to send before i leave. It's expensive to pay for excess luggage at the airport so i would like to take the normal 2 suitcases but cargo some more boxes of mainly clothes/shoes/bags (personal items) before i travel. I called a few companies like IMPEX and they said they only take items from U.S to Nigeria and not Nigeria to overseas. Any ideas of companies that offer such services ? Thanks in anticipation of a response.

I only know of Gtbank through their online internet platform. where the stamped and signed statement of account can be sent to either USA, Canada or United Kingdom Embassies directly. This can help to reduce the numbers of SOA to be scanned and uploaded.
I don't know about diamond bank, but it could be similar. I hope this helps

Pls guys who knows about diamond Bank sending your statement of account directly to the embassy, and pls how do they do this??

I don't think it is a wise thing to sign marriage court documents without the express approval of your parents or her parents. It is wrong. As a man, make your intentions known to the father, tell him your plans. If he says no, then wait. If he says yes, do your court stuff quietly.

In our case now she missed the interview.. She saw the mail 2days after the scheduled date for interview.. I'm surprised she was the one called considering the fact that I'm the principal applicant.

The kids can always go through sponsorship. I am talking from my own personal experience. That is it. The VO should feel you aren't migrating with style.
Opinion differs I respect that, but as Nigerian, its not that easy in the eye of the VO. The truth. She can do as convenient for her. But patience is profitable.
goingforward:

I am talking from experience and observation over time.

If i can get it with my kids, why can't every other person give it a try if they have the funds?
Again it's peoples choice.

I just said my 2cents.

They should, but we don't know thier thinking. You can always sponsor the other two kids. after going through the process, I learnt one thing: do not feel that you have another chance to reapply, therefore give everything you can do not to reapply again. Block every loopholes as if you don't have another chance. Explaining after denial is hard. So please just think deeply. it will be harder next year, so use this opportunity to do it right please. it worth all the sacrifices. i Used my Business, Landed properties, My older son(13 years) and myself as home ties. I think Its not about fund, to throw everyone in, but i was adviced not to do so. i am given unto you the same advice, because i want you to succeed. you can use the other advice with 100m in your account, it should fly.
Trizadove:

thank you so much, but what about the other 2 children i plan on leaving behind? cant they be enough home tie?
or what do u think?

My opinion!
goingforward:

My personal advice is GO with your family ( at least with all your children), you can include your husband if you have enough funds to show.

Just make sure that you have the funds to show for living expenses and 1-year tuition.

From my observation, they are a bit lenient with mothers who are furthering their education, with their family. VO's are human beings. It may even be a female VO that will work on your file. VO's know how important it is for mothers to be with their children.

Simply convince the VO in your SOP that you will return with your family after studies.

Depending on whether online or paper. the questionnaire available on the online platform will indicates all the necessary forms. for paper route, you can get it here. or their website. i don't know that every informations that needs are there on the websites until after the approval.
If you need him, it will take wisdom. wisdom and wisdom. just take it one step at a time.

another thing is , what type of form will they fill?
Moreover, i need him to work so as to be able to keep up with the finances, thats another personal reason i want him to follow me

Correspondence letter. I think is the final stage after stamping of passport as stated in the letter. When your passport is stamped, you will get the correspondence letter, i think. We submitted the passports in Abuja on Friday last week to vfs. I WANT US TO NOTE PLEASE: IT IS INCORRECT TO SAY THAT THE ABUJA VFS CARRIES PASSPORTs ON WEDNESDAYS ONLY: IT IS MISLEADING, ITS EVERYDAY. I ASKED THEM AND WITH TRACKING, IT SHOWS THAT IT ARRIVED CANADA VISA OFFICE ON MONDAY THIS WEEK or maybe ours enjoyed uncommon speed. But i think its everyday.
Awuuga:
Okay. How long did it take your wife and kid to get an update after the correspondence letter?

My personal advice: subject to other opinions .Do your own and the baby first, and later that of your husband. Home tie must be seen to be so strong now. He can always apply later to accompany you with this reason you gave and any other cogent reason(s) as the case may be. Provisions are always available for children.

Travel history YES! Several trips to UK and USA. Never delivered abroad though having visas to both USA and UK at that time. Own a Business . Two private accounts submitted. I already transferred the fund to the account and statement printed after 5weeks.Two 6months SOA one closing 15M( inflow and outflow over 20M)another closing 150k(inflow and outflow over 11M) she is a director in all our 4companies , Company Tax Clearance (70m turnover)Landed properties (one in Dubai jointly owned , purchased in 2013), I am the main sponsor, Board resolutions stating that the coys will co sponsor and granting her leave from the companies, affidavit of supports. I got one here but the agent rejected it and gave me one eleborate one, many more documents as tapped here. I started registering company earlier, In life this helped. I am also a Pharmacist of over 15years of practice so I wrote the letter of recommendation to the Nairobi Embassy
. For now, this is what I can remember. I will encourage the house with elaborate timeline later pls. (quote author=canadabyfire post=72576400]A big big big congratulations to you for this succes story....there is indeed nothing that God cannot do.....however, considering her age(40yrs) and study gap of 16years, does she have any travel history to Europe or North America?..for the past 16years...has been employed or into business... ur answers would go a long in motivating a whole number of persons....laid back because of age and study gap.....please respond

Very impressive . May God bless you. You have been so so helpful. Thanks a lot. Thanks everyone
Congratulations to you and your family. Age has never pose to be an issue to a study visa to Canada as long as you can account for your study gaps and explain reasonably what you've been up-to till date. You have no qualms.

Attached is a screenshot from an applicant who is 51 years of age, going for a Post secondary diploma and got his study permit approved earlier this year. So it's very possible but chances are slim.

Congrats once again! I wish your family a safe trip to Canada. [/quote]
