Celebrities / Peter Okoye In Trouble Over Comment On The Ban Of Music Video Production Abroad by codedissues: 3:38pm On Jul 18, 2017
Following the call-out posts the P-Square brothers and their elder brother Jude Okoye made after the Nigerian Government disclosed plans to stop movie and music video production abroad, the All Progressives Congress(APC) youth renaissance group has fired a stinker at Peter Okoye of P-square for insulting the Federal government’s plan to ban video shooting abroad.

In a statement signed by the group’s national secretary, Mr Collins Edwin, the APC described Okoye as a ‘son of darkness’.

The statement read in full;

We read the scurrilous remarks credited to Mr Peter Okoye of the Psquare group against the Federal Government’s job-saving policy in the entertainment industry with great anger and vexation.

Least of all persons to make scathing remark against the government is the Psquare group which the local content policy of the Federal Government dusted-up from the valley of obscurity.

http://www.codedissues.com/2017/07/18/peter-okoye-in-trouble-over-comment-on-the-ban-of-music-video-production-abroad/

Where was Peter Okoye or Psquare brand in 1999 when foreign music dominated our airwaves? If not for the government policy which mandated all broadcast stations in Nigeria to pay attention to Nigerian music by playing 95 percent of Nigerian songs every day, would Peter Okoye or Psquare be known to anybody in Nigeria today? Or would they have competed with better American music which dominated our airwaves then?

After the government have used its policy to brush them up from nothing to something; instead of giving opportunity to other people, they are taking Nigerian jobs to foreign countries through the shooting of music videos abroad.

Now that government have intervened to raise great and better entertainers again, Peter Okoye has the gut to insult the entire Federal Government by calling our great leaders ‘Ndi Ala’ which means mad and stupid people. How dare you say that Psquare?

We, therefore, urge the security agencies in the country to arrest Mr Peter Okoye for disrespecting our government and bringing it to a disrepute. If you cannot produce in Nigeria and hire Nigerians, then leave the industry. We must export Nigerian culture to the outside world through our music and videos

Education / 13 UNILAG Students: NANS Threatens To Invade Kirikiri Prisons by codedissues: 4:34pm On Apr 03, 2017
Friday Olokor, Abuja

The National Association of Nigerian Students has handed down a 24-hour ultimatum within which a Special Offences Mobile Court in Lagos should release 13 students of the University of Lagos currently being detained at the Kirikiri Maximum Prisons.

The organisation threatened to relocate its Headquarters to the Kirikiri Maximum Prisons in solidarity with its members, should government continued to keep them in captivity.

THE PUNCH reported that the Mobile Court had on Saturday remanded the 13 UNILAG students in Kirikiri Prisons, pending their bail application.

They accused persons, standing trial before Chief Magistrate P.E Nwaka, were alleged to have engaged in an unlawful invasion of Television Continental in Lagos.

They were arraigned on a two-count of unlawful invasion and disruption of activities and have all pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the two-count.

The accused are Femi Adeyeye, Toni Aina, Kodri Yaya, Asimi Oladime, Ismahim Olalekan, Segun Okesola, Abdulazeez Soneye, Idris Abogunloko, and Muyiwa Olaniyi.

Others are Toheed Oladimeji, Joseph Akanni, Lukumon Olusegun, and Abiodun Agbeniyi.

The magistrate, who ordered that the accused be remanded in prison, adjourned the case till April 6 for a determination of their bail.

But the President of NANS, Chinonso Obasi, on Monday in Abuja, condemned the action of the court which remanded the students in Kirikiri prisons.

He said, “After a painstaking review of the circumstances surrounding the draconian ruling, we have resolved to demand and hereby demand the unconditional release of these students within 24 hours.

“Consequently, we make bold to state that if at the expiration of our 24 hours ultimatum, these innocent students are not released without strings, we shall relocate the Headquarters of NANS to Kirikiri in solidarity with our members.

“We also hope that the authorities would use the opportunity of the 24 hours ultimatum to either expand the facilities of Kirikiri prison or release our colleagues, as they can see we are serious and determined by offering them a fair choice.”

Obasi said if the best the Magistrate could do in the prevailing circumstances was to clamp University students to a prison facility and thereby unwittingly radicalise them, NANS shall help him to understand the implications of his unbalanced judgement that does not tally with the offence allegedly committed.

He said, “Being first-time offenders, the Magistrate, if ever he was once a University student, would have handed down a stern warning and demand of good behaviour instead of sending them to prison for whatever reasons.

“In saner climes what the Magistrate should have done was to certify that the suspects are bonafide students and release them to their school authorities or student leaders. But rather than factor in the extenuating circumstances of their protest, the Magistrate apparently in a hurry to please some hidden forces, decided to blunt the proper socialisation of 13 Nigerian leaders of tomorrow.”

Business / Court Sets Date For Aderinokun’s Daughter’s Suit Against Gtbank by codedissues: 6:34am On Mar 25, 2017
Ramon Oladimeji, Onuba, Abuja

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday adjourned further proceedings till March 28, 2017 in a suit filed against Guaranty Trust Bank and six others by Miss Oluwatise Aderinokun, daughter of a former Managing Director of GTBank, the late Olutayo Aderinokun.

Eight-year-old Aderinokun, who sued through her mother, Mrs. Salamotu Aderinokun, alleged manipulation of her late father’s shares in GTBank.

Joined as co-defendants with GTBank in the suit are Datamax Registrar Limited; Kanali Investments Limited; Day Waterman Company Limited; Caribod Investment Limited; Mr. Babatunwa Aderinokun; and Investment One Financial Services Limited.

The young Aderinokun, in her suit, alleged that the defendants breached the implied contract between them and her late father, as regards the deceased’s shares in GTBank.

Aderinokun, through her lawyer, Mr. Osaro Eghobamien (SAN), is urging the court to declare as illegal the recognition of three limited liability companies – Kanali Investments Limited, Day Waterman Company Limited and Caribod Investment Limited – as being entitled to the accruing dividends on her late father’s shares in GTBank.

She wants the court to order an enquiry into the volume of her late father’s shares in GTBank, held in the names of the three companies.

She claimed that contrary to her late father’s instruction, GTBank and Datamax Registrar Limited had paid over N1bn as dividends in the names of the companies to unauthorised persons, who were masquerading as the beneficial owners of her late father’s shares in GTBank Plc.

The payments, the young Aderinokun claimed, were made to the said unauthorised persons following various Annual General Meetings held between June 14, 2011 and March 31, 2015.

She is seeking an order of perpetual injunction restraining GTBank and the rest of the defendants from acknowledging/recognising the three companies as being the beneficial owners of the rights accruing to the shares held in their names in GTBank Plc.

At the resumed proceedings in the case on Friday, counsel for the 7th defendant, Miss M. I. Betty, contended that any objection raised by the 6th defendant could not be sustained, on the grounds that there was defect in the counter-affidavit filed by the 6th defendant.

In his submission, however, counsel for the 6th defendant, Mr. Olumide Aju, informed the court of his application, dated March 23, 2017, that urged the court to set aside the preliminary objection raised by the plaintiff, and allow him to cross-examine a witness, Mr. Mike Okon.

However, Eghobamien urged the court to hear his client’s application for interlocutory injunction because GTBank Plc was about to hold its Annual General Meeting, slated for April 7, 2017.

Egbobamien said his client’s contention was that since GTBank Plc’s AGM was to hold next week, it was imperative for the court not to hear defendants’ application on Friday but rather hear his client’s application for injunction.

After hearing the parties, Justice Idris adjourned till March 29, 2017, for the hearing of all applications of second, third, fourth and fifth defendants in the suit.

In his objection to the suit, the sixth defendant, Babatunde Aderinokun, alleged that the plaintiff’s mother, Salamotu, was never married to the late Aderinokun.

He identified Olufunlola Kafayat as the only woman legally recognised as Aderinokun’s wife, with whom the deceased was said to have contracted a marriage on January 7, 1983, in New York, United States of America.

Babatunwa also stated that the plaintiff’s claim that her late father held GTBank Plc’s shares through three companies namely: Kanali Investment Limited, Day Waterman Company Limited, and Caribod Investment Limited, was erroneous and inaccurate, as the three companies were validly constituted and registered under Nigerian law.

He said the deceased could not have given his GTBank Plc’s shares held in the name of the three companies to any beneficiaries as claimed by the plaintiff because it was the said companies and not the late Aderinokun, who owned GTB Plc’s shares.

He added that the will of the deceased never directed the executors and trustees of the deceased’s estates to take over or manage any company as erroneously claimed by the young Aderinokun.

He urged Justice Idris to dismiss the suit with substantial cost against the plaintiff.

Olusola Fabiyi, Abuja

There were indications in Abuja on Thursday that the protracted crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party may soon come to an end following the resolve of the two combatants to sheath their swords and work for the progress of the party.

National Chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sherif and the Chairman of the sacked National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi agreed that there would be end to exchange of words between them over the crisis in the party.

This was the outcome of the meeting between the two groups which was brokered by the party’s Reconciliation Committee headed by the Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Seriake Dickson.

Celebrities / ‘I Can’t Marry A Woman Who Only Knows How To Twerk’ – Kiss Daniel by codedissues: 5:00pm On Mar 19, 2017
Kiss Daniel, is a fast rising Nigerian recording artist, performer and entertainer best known for his chart-topping single “Woju”.

In an interview with Punch, the singer speaks about his career, the opposite sex and other issues.

See excerpts:

How did you come about the name Kiss Daniel?

The name was actually given to me by a girl. Though I was a bit sceptical about it at first, I later liked the idea and decided to stick with it.

When was the first time you knew you wanted to become a singer?

I think I was about seven then. I used to write a lot and when my father noticed my passion, he encouraged me to do more of it. However, I started music professionally in 2014.

You had a great outing with your New Era album, what’s the greatest benefit you have derived from it?

I got an award to show that I had the best album of 2016 and that means a lot to me. It shows that my work did not go unnoticed. The album went viral and I got universal recognition which also makes me happy. I am glad I made the album because initially, I had doubts about its success. I thought it wouldn’t be a hit because I did not feature major players in the music industry. Thankfully, it came out well and the fans loved it.

Who are some of the people that influenced your sound?

I would say 9ice and 2face.

The ladies obviously love Kiss Daniel, what has been your weirdest experience with a female fan?

It is X-rated. You know when ladies are excited, they can go to any length to show it.

What’s the limit for you when it comes to interacting with your female fans?

I can never take advantage of them or disregard their importance. Even when they greet and salute me on social media, I make sure I respect them.

What has stardom changed about you?

Nothing, I’m still the same old me. People that knew me from way back still come to me and they can confirm that I haven’t changed. I am an introvert, so there aren’t many people that can influence me. I still hang out with the same set of people I used to spend time with when I was a kid.

What are the major lessons being an artiste has taught you?

I’ve learnt to always keep my mouth shut and not to always talk like a fool. One must always be eager to listen instead of talking. Talking too much will get you in a lot of trouble.

Have you ever been tempted to lash out at some of your followers online who get rude and abusive?

I am not that kind of person. I tried it once but I realised it’s not in my nature to do that. People are fond of throwing shots at me but I just laugh about it and move on. I don’t know what the person is going through at that time. That individual may be frustrated and is looking for an avenue to vent his anger and I refuse to come down to the person’s level.

If you were not a singer, what do you think you would have been doing?

I would have been an engineer because I have passion for it and that’s why I studied Water Engineering which is similar to Civil Engineering. I love reading books and if not for music, I would still be in school studying for a master’s degree or PhD.

What inspired your song, Sin City?

It is a response to a lot of comments I had been seeing online. There was a time I won two different awards for the Best Newcomer category and some people said that I didn’t deserve it. That was why in Sin City, I said that it’s not like the other guys out there are not cool but I’m the one that was chosen. The organisers of the awards thought I deserved the award and I couldn’t have rejected their good gesture.

You also mentioned in that song that you don’t smoke, is that really true?

Yes, I don’t smoke but I drink responsibly.

Can you date someone in the entertainment industry?

Yes, I can. I don’t see anything wrong in that.

Have you ever dated anyone in the industry?

I’m not sure if I can call the experience that I had dating.

What kind of woman do you like?

I like ambitious women who are intelligent, can think for themselves and envisage the future. There are some women that can tell you a lot of ways to properly spend and invest N10m and you would be amazed. That is the type of lady I want, a woman who can drown you in her thoughts. I don’t want the type of woman that would only think about how to twerk and spend your money. I like twerking and I’m not saying it’s bad but when it comes to choosing the woman I would live with for the rest of my life, I think intelligence is more important. There will come a time when ladies would not be able to twerk again because of old age.

What’s your take on the prominence of boobs, butts and nudity in the entertainment industry?

It is needed as it gets some certain set of people interested in music. As a matter of fact, I know some people who watch videos of ladies twerking first thing every morning. There are some people who wouldn’t watch your videos if there are no ladies flaunting their bums in it and that would reduce your views and followership. For instance, most of the feedback I have gotten on my new music video, Duro, has been about the ladies in it.

Apart from music, what other things do you do to earn a living?

I am about establishing a water company that will produce sachet and bottled water.

Has the economic recession affected you in any way?

Recession is a thing of the mind and there are a lot of people weho are still living large. I know someone who recently bought a house of N350m. As for me, I am sure of getting shows every weekend and my bank account being credited with millions of naira. On the average, I perform at about five weddings monthly and sometimes, the figure is higher, coupled with other shows. I am happy that I am making money and I am thankful to God and my fans for that.

Family / So Sad As Several Killed In Peru Flood After Heaviest Rain In Decades by codedissues: 1:47pm On Mar 19, 2017
Flash floods and landslides hit parts of Lima, leaving some communities cut off from roads Saturday, as others in Peru fled rising rivers, and millions fretted that they won’t have drinking water.

The government announced Saturday that so far this year 72 people have died as a result of heavy rains and flash floods around the country.

Peru‘s geographic extremes help fuel the often deadly force of the mudslides known locally as huaycos, the indigenous Quechua word for flash flood-landslide.

The South American nation of over 30 million has plenty of extremes: its Pacific coastal deserts in the west are interrupted by the soaring Andes, famed for the Inca people and Machu Picchu in the south. Further east, Peru has hot Amazon basin lowlands.

The tremendously steep mountains combine with many rocky and sandy areas that lack the topsoil found in more temperate places, meaning fewer trees are there to stop mudslides.

After weeks of heavy rain swept toward the coast late this week, many riverbeds in coastal areas went from empty to overflowing in no time.

In Lima, some residents on the outskirts of the capital of 10 million awoke Friday to realize their bedrooms were filling with water.

On Thursday and Friday, 10 people died in a landslide in the northern town of Otuzco. Seven of them were in trucks crushed by the huge flow of earth.

Others found themselves cut off by mudslides that blocked portions of the main highway linking Lima to the center of the country.

In one dramatic scene, rescuers used zip lines to help residents of Lima’s Huachipa neighborhood escape over the torrent of brown water that was once their street, as it swallowed up cars and trucks.

The floods have been triggered by the weather event known as El Nino, a warming of surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean that wreaks havoc on weather patterns every few years.

Read below:

http://codedissues.com/?p=3473&preview=true

Could you tell us about yourself?

Well, I am Mrs. Linda Uju Christian-Echewodo, wife of the General Overseer of God’s Firmament Covenant Ministry, Ambisy Christian Echewodo. I was born in Lagos and the fifth child in a family of six and the fourth female child of my parents. I studied English at the Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State. Currently, I am teaching in Nazareth School, FESTAC Town, Lagos, owned by the Catholic Church. At the same time, I assist my husband in his ministry work.

How did you meet your husband?

I would say that our marriage is ordained by God. I met him at the ministry. My mother was invited to my husband’s ministry by one of her friends. And, when she returned, she narrated her encounter with the man of God, telling us that he was so unique, and that the ministry was interdenominational. Thereafter, she said all of us must attend one of the programmes and that we would enjoy it. Really, the first day I attended, I loved it and felt that, it was the right place to be. Before then, I was not living in FESTAC Town, but my family moved there in 2007 and I started attending the ministry in 2009.

You said the ministry is the right place to be, why did you say so?

The system of praising God in the ministry is second to none. Could you believe that it holds seven days vigil at a stretch? Yet no one will feel bored because it is praises all through. Also, I saw the man of God as a genuine person who was doing everything as being led by God. These were what attracted me to the ministry and to my husband too.

How did you react when your husband approached you for marriage?

I would say that we were meant to be together, because when he came to me, I felt the same way he felt towards me. We were both emotionally attached to each other. And, because I was under his ministration and counseling, I had always liked him. Besides, as at then, my focus was how to gain admission into the university. I had different plans for my future, not knowing that God had a different plan for me.

You mean you were not ready for marriage at the time you got married?

Yes, as I said. Marriage was not something I planned for as at that time. But since God wished it to be so, I obliged because when he wants to fulfill what he has planned for you, it will be done in a short time. That was why when my husband arrived, I quickly accepted him, although we already had feelings for each other and both of us were attracted to each other.

Were there challenges you faced at the initial stage of your marriage?

Actually, we did our traditional wedding in 2010 but officially got married in 2011. But, as a man of God loved by many, there were antagonists. Some people felt he should not marry me. In fact, a lot of controversies trailed the announcement of our engagement. But at last, God proved himself during the trial that he had called both of us to be together. God revealed that ours was a marriage ordained by him, and because we are destined for each other, the wedding took place and here we are today five years later.

What were you into while you were seeking university admission?

I was into modeling, and I started that at the age of 12.

How did you get into modeling?

I was in a children’s club in Surulere, Lagos called Charming Kids’ Club The club was able to take me to a particular place of my dream. I did a lot of stuff then such as Miss Golven Academy, Charming Prince and Princess Beauty Pageant. I also participated in Miss Universe, which was for teenagers then. I represented Nigeria in Egypt and won Miss English beauty pageant at Madonna University in 2012/2013. I also won Miss NYSC in 2014 in Lagos, and was also the Commander for Seven Platoon. I won the Best Smiled and Charming Kid and featured in the MTV based Fashion Show at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
In 2008, I won the Best Female Model by the Nigerian Model Award when I was working for a modeling agency called Legendary Gold Ltd. I also auditioned for the Face of Delta Soap, but was not eventually picked.

How did you identify the talent in you?

Well, it was my elder brother Mr. John Paul Isike that saw that talent in me and decided to dig it out. Having looked at my stature; he said I would be a good model, so he trained me. I really planned to go into full modeling as a career before God arrested me through my husband.

How did your parents react to your choice to be a model even as early as age12?

I have the kind of parents that are supportive of their children’s talents and career because they believe that a child should be allowed to explore his or her talent. So, they supported me.

You said God arrested you, how did it happen?

Could you believe that it was when I got N30 million contract to represent Nigeria in New York for a beauty pageant, that we had our traditional wedding? So, I could not go since God had a better plan for me to be a model for Christ. Then, I was into pure fashion modeling, but now, I am a model for Christ and I thank God for my present status.

What do you think that would have happened if you were still into modeling?

I realized that I could have been intoxicated with fame and could have derailed. But now, I have seen that there is no better place than to be in the Lord.

How were you able to cope with your Christian life while modeling?

One thing about modeling is that you must have passion for it. You do not allow money to be your goal. I was just doing what I love to do in my best way without thinking of any other thing. Happiness lies in doing what you love doing, then it was more of a hobby for me. Modeling has its own advantages and disadvantages, but self-discipline plays a crucial role. It has its own distractions that can make someone sway, but one has to be decent. As for me, I love to wear the clothes for designers, walk the runway and the cameras focused on me, I was determined to do it and that was what gave me the fame and recognition I earned.

Romance / Army Denies Assaulting Women In Rivers by codedissues: 4:04pm On Mar 18, 2017
The Nigerian Army on Saturday denied allegations that its troops assaulted some women during the ongoing operations in Gokana, Khana and Tai Local Government Areas of Rivers.

Col. Aminu Iliyasu, the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Division, Port Harcourt, made the denial while reacting to an online report which accused troops from the Division of battering women in the council areas.

“The attention of 6 Division of Nigerian Army has been drawn to a malicious publication in some online media on the purported molestation of some women in Ogoniland by some recently deployed soldiers.

“This publication is totally false, mischievous and a failed and unsubstantiated attempt by some cultists and other criminal elements in Ogoniland to cry wolf where there is actually none.

“This baseless story is a calculated and failed attempt to distract and force the withdrawal of troops from carrying out their duties which involved patrols and other operational activities.

“Our constant patrols in the areas have effectively checkmated and denied criminals freedom to carry out their nefarious activities while assisting in restoring peace and security to the troubled areas,” he said.

Iliyasu said the Army had on March 6, after a stakeholders meeting which had in attendance paramount rulers, community leaders and other security agencies, resolved to send troops to the areas.

He said that part of the agreement reached at the meeting was to restrict movement of residents from 7pm to 6am in order to end the incessant cult clashes and killings in the areas.

According to him, the timing was chosen because that was the period when criminal cult groups perpetrate their nefarious activities and unleash terror on innocent citizens.

Illiyasu said that pictures uploaded by the online media to buttress their claim contradicted the information depicted on the alleged pictures.

“The enemies of the Ogoni people shamelessly tried to buttress their claims with old pictures of women with placards not minding the fact that the messages on the placards are different.

“The authorities of the 6 Division warn enemies of Ogoni people to change their cause or they will be made to face the wrath of the law.

“We assure residents in the areas of their safety and security while they go about their legitimate business without any fear of intimidation or molestation,’’ he said. (NAN)

Celebrities / I Am A Real Prophet” -yoruba Comedian, Woli Arole by codedissues: 3:54pm On Mar 18, 2017
Yoruba Comedian, Woli Arole who has carved a niche for himself by mimicking prophets comically also claims to have a prophetic calling and on several occasions, he has prayed for people and recorded wonders via his prayers.

He made this known in a chat with Saturday Beats;’“What God has helped me to do is to create a very thin line between the real work of God and comedy because I also have a prophetic calling. I am a real prophet, I have had people I pray for and there have been wonders. Even my mother knows that I have that gift. It shows in my video because I do real prayers and when I do my jokes, it is a free flow of the abundance that I have. I just use the channel to pass messages. I don’t attack any church, I don’t demean anyone and I do not blaspheme. I am just adding value to that particular niche. During the One Lagos carnival on New Year’s Eve, I was called to give a real prayer and after, the deputy governor asked to see me. There are places I go to say real prayers. Thanks to the comedy, there are places a real prophet might not be able to enter but I can.”

On how he has been able to handle his female fans ever since he found fame’ the humour merchant said;

“Ladies are funny because once they see that you are a star that has money, it really trips them. It draws them to you. But it is only you that know where you are going to and you are the one with the glory. At the same time, you need to balance things because it is not every lady that likes your work that wants to sleep with you. You should know that as an entertainer, there are some God-sent helpers who want nothing from you. There are people like that and some could be married. I have met married women that are responsible mothers. They see me and say they just like my craft; subsequently they give me the contact of someone that can further enhance my trade and that would be the last time I would hear from the person. However through that contact, I would meet some other people. I have met very beautiful young ladies who also like my craft and they have linked me with various opportunities and they are gone.”

Politics / Fayose Knocks Obasanjo For Anti-graft Comment by codedissues: 3:30pm On Mar 17, 2017
Kamarudeen Ogundele, Ado Ekiti

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has told former President Olusegun Obasanjo to stop deceiving the world with his anti-corruption posture.

The governor said the former President lacked moral rights to accuse anyone of corruption, challenging him to explain to Nigerians the source of his wealth.

He was reacting to comment credited to Obasanjo that African leaders should ensure that treasury looters were exposed and that a former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, should stop mentioning his name in the controversial $1.09bn Malabu Oil deal.

Fayose, in a press release issued on Thursday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, challenged the former President to rather explain to Nigerians the source of his wealth.

Fayose said it smacked of the highest level of hypocrisy for Obasanjo to be sermonising about corruption.

According to him, it is on record that the out-of-court settlement on the controversial Malabu Oil block was initiated in 2006 during Obasanjo’s administration.

Reiterating his demand that the former President should refund the N10m that he was allegedly forced alongside other governors to donate to his presidential library project, the governor said, “Someone like Obasanjo, who used his position as President to extort money from governors, businessmen and contractors to build his presidential library lacked moral rights to accuse anyone of corruption.

“Other Nigerians who left offices as President are still relevant to their people, but can the same be said about Obasanjo? Was he useful to the Yoruba race as President and now as former President? The bad state that he left major roads linking the South-West to other zones in Nigeria, especially the Lagos-Ibadan expressway remains a pointer to this. Yet, he goes about postulating as if he is the only honest Nigerian who can make things right in the country.”

Foreign Affairs / Politician Proposes Law To Fine Men $100 For Masturbating by codedissues: 2:31pm On Mar 14, 2017
A Texas politician has filed legislation that would see men fined $100 (£82) for masturbating unless they are doing it in a sanctioned session at a hospital or clinic.

Independent Uk reports that Jessica Farrar, a Democrat, created the “Man’s Right To Know Act” to highlight how women have been affected by targeted healthcare legislation in her state, particularly relating to abortion.

She said its rules — including a mandatory waiting period before a vasectomy procedure or receiving a prescription for Viagra, as well as a “medically-unnecessary digital rectal exam” — mirror “real TX laws and health care restrictions faced by TX women every #txlege session”.

The headline stipulation would categorise ejaculation outside either a vagina or medical facility as an “act against an unborn child, and failing to preserve the sanctity of life”.

Ms Farrar told mysanantonio.com: “A lot of people find the bill funny. What’s not funny are the obstacles that Texas women face every day, that were placed there by legislatures making it very difficult for them to access healthcare.”
