When a oolice stops you ,simply identify yourself in a polite manner yet without any fear whatsoever..if he further requests your phone to be searched ,politely decline citing the publication by the IG and the Constitution guaranteeing our privacy.Call him by his name along with his rank (if u understand the ranks as displayed thru symbol on their uniforms) so that he's aware that u know him well in case he misbehaves.
What I did when the officer asked for my phone was to ask the police officer if I am under arrest and for what? Immediately he said No then I told him 'goodday and have a pleasant day',then keep walking. He couldnt say anything.I had had it in mind that I was gonna tell him I'd only release my phone to a superior officer in their station upon which my lawyer or a witness would be present.

I really appreciate the explanation I think I would use that when I get such.

just today a another guy told me on Whatsapp of how he was stopped in the bank and some guys without uniform probably sarzi*** asked him for his phone he gave them and after checking they asked him to pay because they say some naked picture on his phone.
I laughed my eyes out.

We really appreciate the impact of the police, some times they are applauded and most times they are criticised for their ineptitude.
At times the show of power displayed by some men in uniform nauseate, they do things without courtesy as though they went get the uniform for oppression purpose. Though we can't nullify the fact that their presence promote peace and stability. certainly the force is a useful element in the society.

let's look at some encounter and please help contribute base on your experience with them, the best way to react to situations like .

A friend of mine was on bike in 2013 and some police men stopped him and he said my friend should give them his phone for them to check the contents.
He was infuriated and he asked one of them,
why will they want to check the content of his phone?
was there a report that warrant him to be searched?
doesn't he have the right to his privacy?
he kept asking series of questions,
and the policeman was infuriated.
he wanted to slap my guy and that provoked my guy more. the other one stepped and told my padi a cock and boo story, because my guy don't want to overdo himself, he let go of his phone and they discovered the battery was down.

another time read one suspected yahoo boy is shot.
just because his phone would not be checked. angry

the thing is should I GIVE OUT MY RIGHT TO PRIVACY AT THE SIGHT OF A MAN IN UNIFORM FOR HIM TO GO THROUGH ALL THE CONTENT IN MY PHONE ?

that's the problem in this generation... when davido screaming taty billion for my akant.. why won't long troat babes see other thousand-naires as being broke.

in this age that's where some girl think their faces and shapes makes them deserve a millionaire.. lol
the same ego is at play at some crazy dude that would not date or marry some babe that happen to be richer than them...
UNTIL WE LOOK BEYOND FINANCIAL STATUS... PEOPLE WILL ONLY BR THE CAUSE OF THEIR MISFORTUNE...
