I have little or no information When Chevron commence their Internship program or when dragnet releases the aptitude test results

I'm hoping that anyone who participated in the just concluded aptitude test or is familiar with the procedure could enlighten me on the e above.

Thank You.

Theres no doubt that proverbs and culture brew perfectly in the diverse cauldron of life.

At an early age, dipping into the deep igbo proverbs while reading Chinua Achebes literature broadened my understanding of life.

This is one of my favorite. : "Until the lions have their historian the history of the hunt will always
. glorify the hunter".

Share ur favorite proverbs and wisdoms quotes from all cultures and walks of life.
Jobs/Vacancies / Emotional Intelligence : The Missing Puzzle Piece To Success. (prt 1) by Cor216: 1:07pm On Aug 06, 2015
Not education. Not experience. Not knowledge or intellectual horsepower.
None of these serve as an adequate predictor as to why one person succeeds and the other does not.

Why does coming tops in class not guarantee success in the affairs of life ?

Research has shown that IQ contributes only 5% to chances of success.
There is something going on that society and our educational system here in Nigeria dosent seem to account for.

The answer almost always has to do with some concept called EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE.

I think the reason for the vast ignorance in the concept of emotional intelligence and it application
is twofold.

1. People don't understand it. They mistake it for a form of charisma or gregariousness.
2. They don't see it as something that can be improved. Either you have it or you don't.

And thats why I'm here to give you an understanding of emotional intelligence and how we can apply it in our lives.

Now you can begin to leverage all of that intelligence, education and experience youve been storing up for years.

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE.
This is the ability to recognise and understand emotions in yourself and others, and your ability
to use this awareness to manage your behaviour and relationships.

There is a thick divide between emotional intelligence (EI) intellect (IQ) and personality. There is no known connection between EI and IQ, one cannot simply predict EI based on how smart someone is.

Tho EI is flexible, IQ is not. Intelligence is your ability to learn, and it is the same at age 15 as it is at age 50. Emotional intelligence can be improved.

Personality is the final piece of the puzzle. Our personality is as a result of our preferences, one could either be introverted or extroverted.
Just like IQ, personality cannot be used to predict emotional intelligence.

Introverts are no more emotionally intelligent that extroverts and vice versa.

E.I is classified into 4 categories:

1. Self awareness.
2. Self management.
3. Social awareness.
4. Relationship management.

For this first part, we will look into self awareness.

SELF AWARENESS :
Self awareness is to really, really know who you are.
Facing the truth about your self can be difficult at time, I can tell you that.
Getting in touch with your emotions take honesty and courage.
Be patient and give ur self credit for the little efforts towards unravelling the mechanism of ur complex nature.

STEP'S ON HOW TO BUILD SELF AWARENESS.

1. Quit treating your feelings as good or bad.
2. Observe the effect ur emotions have on others .
3. Lean into your discomfort when it comes to seeing ur self for whom you are.
4. Feel how your emotions affect you physically.
5. Know who and what pushes you buttons.
6. Watch yourself from the 3rd person point of view. (This gives u a broader perspective).
7. Keep a journal about your emotions.
8. Don't be fooled by a bad mood. (I tell you from experience certain bad moods are illusions. They mask the beauty of your life.)
9. Don't be carried away by a good mood too.
10. Stop and ask yourself why u do the things you do.
11. Visit you values. (Helps to keep you inline, irrespective of were u find urself).
12. Check yourself. ( ur facial expression, your dressing etc).
13. Seek feed back.
14. Get to know youself under stress.

That's all for now.
Knowledge is Power.

Like if this added value to ur life.
Share so it could add value to another life.

IF YOU KNOW THE ENEMY AND YOU KNOW THYSELF , YOU NEED NOT FEAR THE RESULT OF A HUNDRED BATTLES. - Sun Tzu
