I passed by this scene coming back to Abuja from KD. It was a chilling sight, one of the cars had smoke coming from it. Really terrible. I saw a guy taking pictures with his iPad, op was that you.
Romance / Re: Help My Fiancee Is Mentally Unstable by Cossette: 7:07pm On Sep 21, 2015
So sorry about her condition. You have to understand that bi polar disorder is a life long condition, there is no cure. They can be stable for a while, especially when they are taking their drugs but then an episode happens, especially when they don't take their drugs or sometimes when their system adapts to the drugs and they need a higher dose. These manic episodes can last for months sometimes. It is a very difficult situation but if you can handle it go ahead. I have a very close family friend who has it, so I've seen it up close and trust me it's not easy for her or her family. Though she poses no danger to her family members, luckily even in during her episodes she doesn't get violent. You just have to ensure they don't play with their drugs.
Also no alcohol, I hear it aggravates it. Again people won't understand, you will hear all sorts about how it's one curse or the other, or she joined a cult, she will get offers of deliverance and all sorts. There is still a lot of stigma attached to mental illness in our society unfortunately.
All the best, hope you make the right choice.

Politics / Re: Governor Tanko Al Makura's Media Team Have Just Issued A Press Statement by Cossette: 12:48pm On Sep 13, 2015
I don't believe this statement, seeing everyday what these convoys do on roads within Abuja town itself, I can imagine the impunity they commit on interstate highways. Instead of issuing an apology and resolving the matter they want dent the woman's image.

Politics / Re: The Sad Story Of Marilyn Ogar- The Punch by Cossette: 11:18am On Sep 08, 2015
I expect a politician or a regular citizen to be in support or in opposition of the government of the day depending on his/ her affiliations. But for a public servant, albeit a security operative to be this openly partisan in the discharge of her duties, this is the height of it. In her private life she can support whoever but it shouldn’t have affected her professional work. In any case this should serve as a lesson, to all those sycophants; because they are always there, who would think to rubbish their careers to score cheap points remember this is democracy, elections are won and lost and parties come and go.
Politics / Re: An Indepth Look Into Buhari's Asset Declaration By Barcanista by Cossette: 9:09am On Sep 04, 2015
The asset form itself contains all the information required. I have seen the form before from someone who was filling hers as all government workers are also required to fill. For each of the assets eg property there is space for number, type, how acquired, date acquired, location, total value, income from property etc. for bank accounts you provide bank details and account number too. So I'm sure whenever the forms filled by the President are released all the relevant information will be seen by the public.

This is just the fact, Jonathan though from NIGER DELTA can not beat his chest to say he did well for his people, he left us worse than he met us, we the Niger deltans benefited nothing from our so called son. i have since learnt that my brother is someone who cares for me, not some one necessarily from my place. PMB is my brother and our son wink

very intelligent comment, very enlightened viewpoint
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: What Is The Hope For A 2.2 In The Labour Market by Cossette: 1:17pm On Aug 07, 2015
I support studying hard and making good grades as that gives you an edge but when the deed is done and you have a 2.2, there is hope.

I'm trying to encourage you not to loose hope, also develop yourself with recognized certificate courses, sometimes that gives you an edge as it shows your commitment to being better. for those still in school aim for the 1st and 2.1. if you can, for those already with a 2.2 and below, don't loose hope. work hard and develop yourself further

A round peg in a round hole. Carry on PMB.

Of course! Meanwhile some people are criticizing every move PMB makes, there is a difference between being in the opposition and seeing nothing good in whatever is done regardless of facts and results. They don't understand that eventually, they will be written off such that even when they make valid points it will just be dismissed as their usual noise making.

Northeners very lazy set of people.

Enter their states and see.

Educationally they not sound but when it comes to posts they're filling.

Buhari thanks for showing us that you're here to favor Northerners.

Read the man's bio, I believe several people here have posted it. All the other appointments so far, they are all qualified. This is Nigerian politics, whenever a person gets a position he/she gives preference to his/ her people. If in doubt, go to any federal parastatal in Abuja, find out where the head is from or the minister in charge and see what I mean. Why do you think people rejoice when their "brother" or "sister" gets a position. I don't necessarily agree with it but it's the practice. For me, as long as competent people who will work ar appointed, it's all good.

And as for your "educationally they are not sound" stuff, again move around more, interact with northerners in employment in any sector, in any field before you make that assertion. That a lot of the population do not go to school, doesn't mean those who do are not sound.

Nairaland / General / Groom ‘sues New Wife For Fraud’ After Seeing Her Without Make Up For First Time by Cossette: 12:22pm On Aug 04, 2015
A man who saw his new wife for the first time without make up is reportedly SUING her for trauma, after being shocked at her appearance.

The unnamed couple had just got married in Algeria and after spending the night together, the husband woke up to find his wife bare faced.

But rather than admire her natural beauty, instead the man REFUSED to believe the woman was his wife, believing her to be a thief.

Finally realising that this was in fact the woman he loved, the man is now allegedly suing her for fraud and “psychological suffering”.

A source told Emirates 247: “He said he was deceived by her as she used to fill up her face with make up before their marriage.

“He said she looked very beautiful and attractive before marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the make-up off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief.”

The price of the husband’s “suffering” is £13,000.

i have a degree and i am a full time worker bro, but the fact that something doesn't affect me, doesn't mean i shouldn't feel for those it does
Education / Re: NUC Bans Online Degrees, Abacha Varsity Certificates by Cossette: 11:05am On Jul 24, 2015
these online degrees offer a means for working adults to upgrade themselves. many people cant afford to stop work just to attend school full time, online degrees give them the necessary flexibility. many married mothers also have the time to take care of their kids and pursue a degree.
in the year 2015, education is going online and offering flexibility, almost every school in every country is looking at the online option to stay relevant. in Nigeria we are banning online degrees. very backward move from NUC. regulate, access and accredit the online schools

Politics / Re: "Before Apc Falls Apart" - Dele Momodu by Cossette: 4:11pm On Jul 11, 2015
Well written article. I think though that a lot of what the APC is going through are growing pains, you know like they tell us that the first months of marriage are the hardest ones as the parties are just getting learn how to live permanently together. All the fights and misunderstandings happen then, for those who make it through. Their union becomes stronger. The APC needs to understand though that a house divided against itself will not stand.
What has happened, has happened. Learn the lessons. What they should be thinking of is taking into consideration what has happened, how do we move on from here on end.
Education / Re: My Name Is OR My Names Are,which Is Grammatically Correct? by Cossette: 11:41am On Jul 04, 2015
I was taught my names are is wrong.

My name is, is the proper way. You are referring to yourself the individual not the number of names you have. Even if you have 5 names, it is one person. Eg my name is Bello John Uche Yomi. it's all referring to one person.

If it's more than one person. Their names are Musa, Victor, Femi, Chinedu.

Politics / Re: Why We Are Supporting Buhari - G7 Countries by Cossette: 9:19am On Jun 10, 2015
now this is the kind of news I've been waiting to hear, how to tackle the real problems the Country is facing and the problems are many indeed. The politicians can carry on with their maneuvering, that is what politicians do best, they can share out the political offices in whatever way they want but for the rest of us, we just want things to be better, we want our lives to be better, we want the Country to move forward towards positive change.

Yakubu Dogara is a Christian from the minority sayawa tribe in Bauchi State, a little inquiry would have confirmed this rather than spreading misinformation

Rather than all this sabre rattling APC needs to reconcile its divided factions, afterall they are still members of the same party. If they say they reject them I'm sure PDP will gladly accept them.
