BLUNT

She has that youth when you first meet her. All shiny and fresh and new, with that naïveté that you love and an impressionable character that holds promises. You try to keep her, stick with her, but she moves with those things that glitter but aren't gold. Unnecessary little things that turn to big issues for her. You crave her, try to beg her, so you two can build the sweet future you envisage in your mind. But she keeps sleepwalking into the wrong paths. Years later, many years later, when the youth has been squeezed away and spat on and the flabs appear, when she's become society's old news, trash bin and laughing stock, she now claims to understand, claims that she's all ready for you. After your passion has burnt you away to ashes and the cold husk has been all that's there for an eternity of time, she now dedicates all her time to you. A settlement after all the fire in her is gone, after all the desirables have been sampled and disabled when in their glory by OTHER men. Somehow, I can understand the fury of men towards the older female folk, now desperate to marry.

What's your opinion on this write up ?

Well put together, lovely rhyming piece. But the story doesn't end there.

At that tender age, when she thinks she can part seas with a wave of hand, when her goals is on the other side of mount Olympus, When all and sundry take note of this sparkling lily in a row of grass.

He, He is at his lowest ebb, barely noticed, barely recognized, always ignored, begging for attention, all he has is potentials, he preaches this potential from dawn to dusk, that's his currency if he will get any affection. Why will the morning glory give in to his faraway promises of bliss, perhaps it may come to pass, but that's not what she craves for at the moment when the glory of the flower is just being revealed with ovation from onlookers.

Then finally, when the hen comes to roost, when the drummers have gone home, when the dancers have grown sore. It's time to seek that which was kept for times such as this.

At this time too, His dawn is just arrived, He's ushered into the center stage of those who matter, he've got his career right, groomed to suit, prepared to lead.

Gradually, he starts noticing the attention, drawn like moth to candle flame he's an instant magnet, he can make choices now. Why will he settle for less. Even when he's taken, the attention and ovation doesn't stop, like karma, it even gets louder, women of all ages throw themselves on him, he suddenly got what they need. Affection, Charm, Finance, Care, Charisma, Connection and The Power to Choose.

He reminscence what is happening, he evaluates the live of the flowers who in their bloom kicked him to the outer darkness. Withered and unappealing, they seek his life juice to remain relevant.

NOW YOU KNOW WHY SOME MEN CHEAT. Some are just trying to help. grin

Vivere:

You are right. They should focus on being a reliable, low cost courier company that can deliver parcels and items all parts of Nigeria, as they still have the largest network of offices even in the rural areas today. They can give DHL, Fedex, Aramex, etc a run for their money. In the old days, NIPOST issued postal orders and money orders, which provided a means of transferring funds between people in remote areas. Today, they can be sales agents for online funds transfer companies like Paga, Interswitch etc to reach the unbanked in the rural areas and in different parts of the city.

They can't even compete in that area, where am talking about is parcel delivery for ecommerce websites. I sell products on , I know what it takes, sometimes am can't make some deals because of delivery cost or issues. It surprises me that China Post Air can deliver parcels as small as $5 from China to my village free while to send product from Port Harcourt to Lagos will cost me close to 3k. If Nipost can work like China Post air, it will be great for them, bring in more money, employ more people etc.

The system allows for it, so it happens, we need to build stronger systems that is devoid of nepotism. I still keep asking what's the place of state of origin, local government of origin in our polity.

Nigerians should be Nigerians, irrespective of where one comes from.

Religion / Re: Secret Strategy To Living Stress Free - The Covert Way by CovertWIN(m): 9:52am On Oct 03, 2017
From the tree above, there are three solutions to any T-List, The impulse solutions are for impulse needs, Food, Shelter Clothing, are impulse needs, and the solution should come as impulse, assuming you are stranded alone in an island, what will you do to solve your impulse need, you will likely turn to a fisherman or hunter, you will turn to a builder or resort to cave living, you will make cloths from animal hide or leaves or any suitable material. That’s impulse solution for impulse needs. Now think of it in the modern world. Let get back to hector and see how he solves his impulse need.

First hector realizes that based on current reality, he can’t afford the cost of rent and have to move to an affordable location and that starts with selling off unwanted properties and searching for alternative accommodation. A room will cost N60,000 and that he can’t still afford, how about getting a free or shared accommodation. Where can he get a free accommodation. Are there places he can work for certain hours of the day or night for free accommodation, he goes to the internet and searches, “work for accommodation”. He finds some results but they are mostly not local. How about he list his request on a job directory. “I will work for 2 hours a day or 6 hours at night for free accommodation in Port Harcourt”. While doing that, he also searches for security jobs, or janitorial jobs that may offer such, he sends messages to religious and voluntary organizations for any vacancy of such.

Assuming he gets a place to lay his head in exchange of 2 hours of work per day, he can utilize the next 4 hours to sort out his feeding. He can become a bar tender for four hours in exchange for food. He can also pick up any menial job for four hours to see to this too.

Remember that kelvin is dead, if his prestige never saved him, it’s not important now. Notwithstanding there is dignity in labor, that you are doing a menial job today doesn’t mean you have a low self esteem or that you can’t rise beyond that, with purpose and rigid plan, this is just a phase that will soon come to an end. Meanwhile you can enjoy the lessons this new level of life teaches while rising beyond it’s limitation with the mindset that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Planning The Way Out

Planning and executing plans is the best way to get out of stressful situations, that’s if the plan is not a stress map on itself. Covert Way shows you exactly how to create plans that are stress free and achieves the purpose.

The first strategy will be to access your strength, what do you have, what can you throw in, what can you start with, while doing this, note your weakness too. example, you can freelance online but you find it hard sitting at a place for long. Get a sheet of paper and list them out, and next to your strength write any weakness that’s attached. I call this the R-List, Resource List.

The next thing is to look at your T-list and rearrange it based on priority. The most important ones at the top and the least important ones below.
Draw The Tree

In the Covert Way, the tree is a virtual map that shows your strategy to solving the problem. Look at one below.

The What’s Dead Approach.

“What’s dead may never die” this is a phrase from the TV series, game of thrones, you can apply the logic to your circumstance and see a new relief come from it. Ask yourself this question, if you drop dead now, what will happen to all the problems that are actually trying to kill you. Your guess is as good as mine, they will solve themselves, life goes on for others. So why not assume you are dead and just resurrected. Take up the second part of the phrase, “But rises again, harder and stronger”. This is not a new strategy, many religion incorporate this. Talk of when you are baptized as a Christian, it symbolizes that you are dead in Christ and rises a new creature. So now apply it to your circumstance. Close your eyes and say this: “I am dead to stress and pressures of this world, I rise again stronger and stress free”.

Assume the person who was under pressure was someone else, a new person just entered your body, give yourself a new name, yes the pressures are still there, but it’s not yours, you are just a cleaner who entered this body to sort things out.

How do you feel, it’s time to get to work. Remember, “what’s dead may never die”.

Taking The Lead

At this point, I will like to invent a character for easy understanding. Let’s call him Kelvin, Kelvin just recently lost his job, his savings almost depleted, his house rent expires by the month end, exactly 30 days, he has to pay his fees for his masters degree program which is important to him or forfeit his admission within the next 30 days, his girlfriend is threatening breakup if he doesn’t see her parents before the year runs out. His siblings are calling for help financially too. Now let’s assume you are Kelvin.

Applying the principles of the Covert Way, you have to accept that these are challenges that require urgent attention, there is no doubt these will mount pressure and stress him out. This is his reality. But let’s assume he dies today, all these problems will solve themselves, so he takes the dead oath: “I am dead to stress and pressures of this world, I rise again stronger and stress free”. He opens his eyes to a new being and calls him, Hector. Hector smiles at his new body, looks around and then picks a sheet of paper and writes out Kelvins problems, he’s just a cleaner, kelvin to him is dead, but if he must use his body, he has to sort out his mess.

Now he lists them out against what it will take to solve them. I call this list – T-List, T stands for trouble.

House Rent – N150,000

School Fees – N120,000

Girlfriend – N100,000

Family – N150,000

Feeding – N45,000

Total – N465,000

Duration – 30 Days

He must raise N465,000 in 30 days, or what? Kelvin is dead, his stress shouldn’t be transferred. So Hector will plan and sort out the list based on priority in a fun and adventure mood.

Accepting The Reality.

Things may not be looking good, there is no need denying or wishing it away, it’s not a weakness to accept the fact that things have gone awry, it’s a call to duty. Accepting the reality does one thing to you, confirms in your psyche that you are responsible.

And truly, you are responsible, not actually for what happened, but for how you react to it and go about remedying it.

Life can be stressful for many, if you are reading this, chances are you are or you know someone who is. Stress can come in so many ways, but it's footprint is always evident, a result of pressure and anxiety. Is it possible to live a stress-free life? How can it be done? These question and more will all be answered in this post.

I've been in severe stressful conditions that left me depressed for a long period of time. Today am not, not because the conditions changed, or a miracle happened. But because it wasn't doing me any good, I figured out, and developed a system that worked for me, I call this the Covert Way. Today am going to share the same method with you. You will learn how to be calm, confident and solution oriented in the face of pressure. How to work yourself out of any tight corner. Could be debt, disappointment, betrayal, lack of any kind, emotional trauma etc. But I must warn that this is gonna be a big post, but if you take your time and go through it, I promise it will do you alot of good. Let's get started.

Politics / 7 Radical Truths About Youths In Politics by CovertWIN(m): 3:24pm On Sep 20, 2017
Youths are the leaders of tomorrow - I don't know where this quote comes from, but I must say in this clime it seems to be true. An easy analysis of youth involvement will simply have you shaking your head with the word "We are not ready yet". As someone why, and they will tell you, the old men don't want to give way. Man, it's a fuxxxing jungle, nobody gives you anything, you fuxxxing take it or keep whining.
Now here are 7 truths about youth involvement in politics in the Nigeria polity.

1. We like the bobo

Whether it's the lies or the change they drop for youths to help them propagate the lies, we love it. It's simple, many youths don't know what politics is but they sure know what hunger is and our politicians are cashing in on it. When you see youths happily selling their voters card for N5000 and bragging about it, then you know the shit is real. Now think of what they will do if they see 1k after the election, you are the best performing politician then. People eagerly selling themselves into servitude just for food, and you say slavery was a white man thing?

2. We think the old men are the problem

How young are SUG presidents, it's not about age, politics in Nigeria is a systematic institute of interest aggrandizement. Even so called men or principle get compromised when the enter the institute. I doubt younger politicians will be any different. Even the best will be corrupted when they step in. Let's quite blaming the old men we have to fix the system first, they will bow out when they know it's not business as usual.

3. We make noise

How many youth posters did you see sequel to the Anambra state gubernatorial primaries, at a point it was turned to a joke. That's how serious we are, make lot of noise and when the hen comes to roost, we bend down to our anscestors.

Why do we do this, maybe the next point has the answer.

4. We lack means of funding

Did you get the word, we don't lack funds, we lack means of getting funds, there are many options available, some sitting politicians borrowed from the bank, others held fund raisers to even get their ticket. In this digital age, youths can do much more. If the political vision is right, and the populace adjudge you to be a true candidate, crowd funding can do the trick, or better ways of raising fund from the public or a digital political party can raise fund online.

To be continued when I get a comment.
