My advice?

The biggest mistake any woman can make, is to let their kid(s)grow up without a father figure in the lives. 7 out of 10 of such kids, usually do not turn out well in life.

No matter their differences, the father should have been allowed to be here with him on this day.

Politics / Radio Nigeria Abuja Co-thrift Still In The News by crimebusters: 5:59pm On Apr 15, 2016
The tension in Radio Nigeria Abuja's co-thrift that was reported by our reporter some weeks ago might snowball into crisis if something is not urgently done by the management of the station that was formerly in Gwagwalada one of the six area councils of the FCT.

The Chairman of co-thrift Abdulrasheed Abdulkareem whose victory in the last December's election was said to have been influenced by some management staff among whom are Mohammed Bawa, Ahmed Agberanke and some top management staff that are owing the thrift a huge some of money. Abdulrasheed who was contested in the last election, our reporter gathered was brought in to cover the tracks of some executive members of the thrift as well as some top management staff who took loan but have being using their management positions to intimidate the executives from deducting the loans they took. The pressure was so much on Abdulrasheed and members of his executives that they booked appointment with the Zonal Director of the station to intimate her of the frauds perpetrated Danjuma Akuki,Mohammed Yakubu,Aminu Aikoye and Joel Ikani. The Director was said to be shocked and marveled by the level of frauds perpetrated by the past executives. Mrs Kighir who many people see as a nice, kind but no nonsense woman was reported to have told them that she was going to discuss the issue with the management so as to know the next step to take before the problem leads to crisis or before the case is reported to EFCC as being threatened by some staff of the co-thrift,there and then Akuki pleaded with her not to take any official action and signed an undertaking on behalf of Yakubu Mohammed,Aminu Aikoye and Joel Ikani to refund the "looted" money.

It is four months now that Abdulrasheed and members of his team have been at the helm of affairs of the co-thrift society, members are waiting for him to call for a congress meeting and brief them what he met on ground and fulfilment of his electoral promises during his campaigns, but Abdulrasheed is said to be scared of calling for a meeting as he is said to be confused of what to tell members about the frauds perpetrated by Akuki,Yakubu, Aikoye and Joel one of the jobs he was brought in to do by those who sponsored and supported him in the election. Some members of the society who spoke to our reporter said they were aware of all the atrocities committed by some members of the former executives "we are all aware of all the atrocities perpetrated by Akuki,Aikoye, Joel and Yakubu, how they used fictitious names to steal money from us,how they have not been paying back the loans they took and the land they claimed they bought at the sum of Eighteen million naira,we are just waiting for Rasheed to call for a meeting where we will tell them our minds and how our money will be recovered. It is true they have reported the case to the management but we know there is nothing the management can do about the recovery of our money,we are already working towards writing a petition to the DG,the Minister and the EFCC,these people must be brought to books, whether they refund our money or not."
Crimebusters was able to lay hands on the the society's annual reports for the years 2014 and 2015 as prepared by Aminu Aikoye and presented at the congress meeting. The reports show a lot of irregularities and frauds as alleged by members. As at the time the annual report was presented to the congress, co-thrift was having two hundred and seventy seven members, the total share according to the report as at 31st December 2015 was forty eight million, two hundred and ninety two thousand, five hundred naira.

ASSETS AND LIABILITIES
1:LAND=#18,200,000:00

2: LOAN OUTSTANDING=#24,545,616:02

3: OTHER DEBTORS: #3,262,423:83(This is one of the bone of contentions in their co-thrift)

4: IPPIS: #3,534,460:15

Total: #49,842,502:81 (He presented wrong figures)

Surplus /Dividends : #1,250,000:81

The Major Bone Of Contentions

As at 31st December 2015 Joel Ikani was having a sum #222,000:00 as shares in his account but as the same 31st December 2015 the same member was owing co-thrift a sum #640,000:00. Their Co-thrift does not give more than double of what a member has as shares in his account.
The same applies to Yakubu Mohammed,Aminu Aikoye and Danjuma Akuki. Yakubu Mohammed at 31st December 2015 was having #273,000:00 as shares in his account but as at the end of the financial year was owing the sum of #875,000:00.
Danjuma Akuki who many people see as the mastermind and the most crooked of them all was having the sum of #279,000:00 as shares in his account as at the end of 2015 but ended up owing #806,000:00. Aminu Aikoye the then financial secretary who prepared the annual reports was as at the end of 2015 having the sum of #260,000:00 as shares in his account but as 31st December 2015 was owing #715,000:00. It should be noted that their co-thrift does not give more than double of what a member has in his account. The question in the mouth of every member is "how did they get their own "special" loans and who approved them.? The slogan that was always in the mouths of Akuki,Aikoye and Yakubu then was no money, even when members applied for little amount of money or wanted to withdraw their membership from the co-thrift.

Our reporter was also told that a lot of fictitious names were said to be owing the co-thrift,some of them are names on numbers 61, 66, 68, 70, 81, 85, 95 and 134 who were said to be owing the sum of #873,658:04, #400,000:00, #481,886:52, #1,295,025:86, #300,000:00, #400,000:00, #400,000:00 and #400,000:00 respectively. The members of the thrift who have gone through the financial reports are said to be warming up for a showdown with the executives anytime they call for a meeting, "we have seen the fake an dubious reports prepared and submitted by that illiterate crook called Aikoye, apart from the outrageous loans given to themselves,we also noted some fictitious names they claimed are owing the co-thrift,we do not know most of these people,if they say they are our staff,we will like to meet them one on one with their staff identity cards and our admin will help up to verify their claims, thank God the head of our admin Prince Duru is a straight forward man who cannot be bribed to cover up their crimes . Do you know that this people are so criminal minded that they even included the name of one Mr Joshua Tukura who retired last year in the list of those owing us. We've contacted Mr Joshua and he confirmed to us that he is not owing co-thrift,so we are waiting for Rasheed to call a meeting where they will explain all these fictitious names and claims to us. If they do not bring back all the money they stole from us,we shall insha - Allah report them to the DG,the Minister and EFCC. They thought they could use Rasheed to cover up their tracks but they are in for a shocker, not even the DG can cover up for them or safe them from going down."

Our reporter was also reliably informed that the two heads of departments that worked against the chairmanship female candidate in the last co-thrift election did so because she rebuffed their approach for office romance, one of them we learnt brought her to Radio Nigeria from the school she was teaching before joining FRCN and introduced her to the then second in command in the presentation unit for auditioning, she was seen to be good and was eventually employed after being an artist for some months. The two had since refused to forgive her of her refusal to show "body appreciations" for their kind gestures in securing her a job in FRCN.

All efforts to talk to Abdulrasheed proved abortive as his line was not going and was not on seat to talk to our us. When our reporter went to the office of the Zonal Director Mrs Kighir he was told by one of her aides that she was out of town on official journey and could not tell when she will return. The lady who refused to identify herself to our reporter, confirmed to us that it was true that the ZD met the executives of the co-thrift some weeks ago in the month of Marc, but could not say what was discussed as she was not part of the meeting.

Tracks Not Well Covered

Crimebusters painstakingly took time to go through the 2014 and 2015 annual reports prepared and presented to the congress early this year and discovered a lot of irregularities in the reports. For instance Nura Abdullahi member no 66 with staff no 12182 was at 31st December 2015 was having #100,000:00 but at the end of that same year was owing the co-thrift the some of #400,000:00, their co-thrift does not give members more than double of what he has as shares in his account. Goar Nanbam member no 134 with staff no 17695 was having #180,000:00 as shares in his account but at the end of 31st December 2015 was owing co-thrift the sum of #400,000:00. Saidu Ibrahim member no 69 with staff no 12188 was having #150,000:00 but now owing the co-thrift the sum of #400,000:00. Magana Abdulkadir member no 72 with staff no 12205 was having #80,000:00 but is now owing the co-thrift #300,000:00. Salihu Dan Asabe with staff no 11917 whose name was not on the members list is said to be owing #175,000:00. Yakubu Joseph also known as Joe Parry used to be a member of co-thrift was given a GTB before leaving the corporation unceremoniously about six years ago is said to be owing #1,295,025:86,his GTB loan was said to have been paid back by members but the executives are still using his name as one of those owing,to deceive and steal from the co-thrift. The last but not the least is Adamu Anasara member no 61 with staff number 12149 is said to be owing the co-thrift outrageous sum of #873,658:04 as at 31st December 2015, more than the loans Akuki, Yakubu, Aikoye and Joel gave to themselves, we took time to go through the list of of members of Radio Nigeria Abuja co-thrift the name Adamu Anasara was not on the list. This outrageous amount of money against this ghost member and Yakubu Joseph (Joe Parry) is believed to be among some of the money members alleged to have been "stolen" by Yakubu, Aikoye, Joel and Yakubu.

Posers For The Co-Thrift Executives and The Management Of Radio Nigeria Abuja

Who is Adamu Anasara member no 61 on list of members submitted by Aikoye with staff number 12149?is he a staff of the corporation and member of the co-thrift?what department is he?what level is he?how much is his shares in the co-thrift and why is he owing the co-thrift that outrageous amount of money as stated in the 2014 and 2015 annual reports prepared and presented to the congress? The co-thrift members will certainly want to know.

Now that the case is before the management, members of the thrift await to see what action will be taken by the by them to douse the tension and refund the money "stolen" by Akuki,Aikoye,Yakubu and Joel and also the punitive measures that will be taken against them so as to serve as deterrent to others.
An aggrieved member told our reporter that "What these people don't know is that, the world is now a global village where people make use of social media to voice out their grievances, we will make use of the social media to let the world know about our plights, who knows the news might get to the notice of the President and the honourable minister even before we write our petitions, let's see how the management will kill or sweep this case under the carpets. This is frauds we are talking about and these are senior and management staff who might end up overseeing the affairs of Radio Nigeria,is this how they will manage the station in future? This is a test to all the ogas in FRCN,we wait to see how how they manage it.?"

Politics / Tension At Radio Nigeria Abuja Co-thrift Society Over Fraud And Embezzlement - C by crimebusters: 9:12am On Mar 17, 2016
Tension is gradually brewing in the cooperative society of Radio Nigeria Abuja operations as some members of the society who were not happy with the level of frauds in the Co-Thrift have vowed to go to any length to recover their stolen money and also expose those that stole the money and their collaborators. The organization's co-thrift has been enmeshed in a lot of frauds and controversies before and after the election that brought in the present executives being led by Comrade Abdulrasheed Abdulkareem, he was elected in a controversial election which many members and observers believed was tele-guided by some high level senior and management staff of the Corporation who were also involved in some of the frauds rocking the Co-Thrift.

According to our source the election into the office of the present executives was tele-guided by some Senior and Management staff who were involved in the fraud that was perpetuated by some members of the past executives. Four members of the past executives namely Yakubu Mohammed, Danjuma Akuki, Aminu Aikoye and Joel Ikani were said to be owing the thrift a sum of almost Eleven million naira being loans they took and refused to pay back while in office. The four members of the executives with the help of Aminu Aikoye who was the financial secretary then, were said to have used some fake names including names of some members of staff who are not members to steal money from the co-thrift. This our source said was different from the issue of the land that the former executives bought at an outrageous amount without the knowledge and consent of their members. The land located somewhere at the outskirt of Abuja was bought at Eighteen million naira, our source said there was no way that the land could have been sold to the executives at that outrageous amount of money because it is a land that is far away in the bush and no development or social amenities will get to the place in the next one hundred years, moreover it was bought without the knowledge and consent of the then chairman Alhaji Olanrewaju Adegboyega and members of the Co-Thrift. We were also told that there was no receipt or bank teller to show that there was any transaction carried out in the buying of the said land.

Many members who are being owed have pulled out of the thrift with many joining that of their headquarters and a lot of them are yet to be paid their money since 2012 of their withdrawal from the Co-Thrift. "Most of our members including those who started the co-thrift have pulled out to join that of the headquarters because of the fraud perpetrated by the last executives who were busy stealing our money to build houses and buy cars for themselves and girlfriends. They deceived us, cheated and used us to pay back some money during the time we were given loans by GTB, they refused to call for meetings or organize election, not until we were pushed to the wall and had to force them to handover to a caretaker committe after running the co-thrift like a one man show. An election was conducted quite alright but we later got to know that it was tele-guided by some fraudulent senior and management staff who have hands in the frauds bedeviling the co-thrift. Whether they like it or not Insha Allah we will bring all of them to book and recover our stolen money. The juju that they have been using that made us to be zombies for thirteen years that they ruled us to steal our money has failed."

We learnt that efforts are being made to bring back some top influential people who can help fight the cause and probably take the case to the Zonal Director and the Director General of the corporation. "We are already making efforts to bring back some of our members who out of frustration left the thrift, to come back and join us to fight this cause, we intend to write to our ZD and DG to look into the matter. Akuki, Yakubu, Aikoye ,Joel and all others involved in the stealing of our money must be brought to justice and made to refund our stolen money, even if it means taking the case to the EFCC we are ready to do that. Imagine them telling us that they bought a parcel of land for Eighteen Million Naira, whereas the land was sold to them for just Six Hundred Thousand Naira, we have our facts in our hands, we are only waiting for them to call a congress meeting. The said land we learnt belong to the Nigerian Army. How much is our salary that some people on levels 12, 13, 14,15, 16 and 17 will be stealing from us? Thank God we are now in a government that has zero tolerance for stealing and corruption, if it means taking our case to the honourable minister of information so be it. Enough is enough our mumu don do"

Our source told us that some of the people involved in the fraud have promised to pay back and asked to be given a soft landing in other for the matter not to get out of hands. Some we learnt are already looking for buyers to buy some of the properties they fraudulently and crookedly acquired through the sweat of their members.

Presently all is not well between the chairman and the financial secretary, our source told us that trouble started when Akuki who used to be secretary in the last executives and now the financial secretary insisted to be one of the signatories to their account, a suggestion that did not go down well with the chairman. We learnt that Abdulrasheed was called to order by one of the management staff when Danjuma Akuki reported him to his head of department whom we learnt was among those that ensured that he won the election. The said head of department we learnt categorically told his staff in the co-thrift who to votes and threatened to sanction them should Abdulrasheed or Akuki lose the election. When reported, the said head of department told Abdulrasheed that "if not for our votes and support, do you think you would have defeated Maryam in the election?" He now ordered Abdulrasheed to apologize to Akuki. The chairman our source said was bitter about this and has vowed to expose all the frauds perpetrated by Akuki and his group. We learnt that he has been telling people that care to listen that what does the financial secretary want again in the co-thrift after being the Secretary General for about Thirteen years.

The four major culprits in the fraud saga namely Yakubu Mohammed((former treasurer) Danjuma Akukli (former secretary and present financial secretary) Aminu Aikoye((former financial secretary) and Joel Ikani(former auditor) are now said to be running round to pay back the money "stolen" from their members before official action is taken against them by the present executives. Yakubu we learnt has paid back more than a million of his own share of the looted money, while Akuki, Aikoye and Joel are said to be looking for buyers of some of their houses built with the "stolen" money.

Abdulrasheed Abdulkareem was brought into office by some senior and management staff to cover the tracks of the past executives and also to be used to steal more money from the co-operative society. With most members now waking up from their slumber and powerful radical group emerging in the co-thrift how they intend to cover up all their shady deals remained to be seen.

A management staff of the corporation who spoke to crime busters on the condition of anonymity, told our reporter that the management was aware of all that was going on in their co-thrift but the management cannot and will not act until the case is officially brought to their notice. All efforts to speak with the Public Relations Officer and the secretary of the thrift Messer King Franki and Israel Daniel proved abortive as they were always evasive of our appointment with them.

How this drama ends and how many heads will roll at the end of it all, only time will tell.
