So many people have been crippled by their partner to the point they feel it won’t be a wise decision to walk out of a relationship that brings pain, depression and loneliness. A lady told me once; “if I walk away, he will not think it twice to replace me and that will make me feel bad.” Wow! What a way of being enslaved.

Below are a few things you need to consider before walking away from an unhealthy relationship.

1.Do you beg, or persuade them before you can see them: If you have to do any of these or something related to these before you can spend time with your partner, it’s time to stop begging and let them be. Seeing each other should be something both of you long for, it should be natural and very pleasant. If by any chance they start giving reasons why they can’t see you, never beg for it and start re-adjusting.

2.You only try to establish communication: This is very bad! Communication should not be a one-way traffic. If they don’t try as much as possible to maintain contact with you, in similar way you try to maintain communication with them, especially when they have the resources to do so but don’t, then you need to slow down. It’s not lack of chance; it’s rather lack of interest. Chances are that they’re weary of you and need a break. Don’t force it. If you keep dragging them and you eventually get married to them, you’ll still drag them in marriage and possibly have problems at the long run.

3.Negligence: Do make you feel like you don’t matter? Like they’re the only one who can put up with you? My advice is that you start giving them less of your time; it’ll do you some good. Some people in the midst of friends forget that their partner is also in the meeting and rarely look their way. This is because, maybe you really don’t matter. It’s only matter of time before you’ll be kicked aside.


There are a whole lot of them which can not be exhausted here but, these are just a very few important ones that needs to be paid attention to.

Do not be deceived that the fire is still burning when you get these signs. Everybody need attention, it’s a prerequisite for a healthy relationship. When you’re not getting it naturally, it calls for serious concerns.

Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo threw it back to his days in Ajegunle in Lagos State. The striker narrated that even what was thought to be earring which he wore on his throwback picture was actually a paper-tape, that he couldn't afford to buy earrings back in the day.

According to him; "My high school girlfriend left me because i had nothing to offer her." He went on to give words of hope to people going through challenges; "..the same God that elevated me shall elevate you, hold on to him and trust his timing.
