DeltaBachelor: Trust me, you have a very good landlord. May God continue to bless him. I can't forget in a hurry one of the most horrific experiences I had.
A friend of mine ( of blessed memory)who travelled abroad came back and needed a place to stay. As bachelor wey I be, I accommodated him because I felt it would be a waste of money for him to lodge in a hotel for like 2 months. On that fateful day, I went to see my parents and called this my friend that I may come back late, so he should please be on the lookout in case the gate is locked.
Unfortunately for me, my phone ba3 died and unknowing to me, this my friend had gone out but put my key somewhere for me because according to him, he had been trying to reach out to me, but my phone was off. To cut the long story short, I came back around 10pm and was knocking and knocking at the gate for like 3 hours and no one came to open. Around 1am or so, I had to scale the fence because I didn't have any friend close by and I didn't want to go back home to my parents because it was very dangerous at that time of the day with robbery incidents and all and also because I was a bit drunk due to "several issues "I was facing at the time.
So back to my story, na so I scale fence o and slept in front of my door because I didn't know that my friend kept the key for me. I thought he mistakenly took it with him. Around 3am or so, that was how I felt a sharp pain on my back . I didn't know my neighbours or landlord had gone to call OPC vigilante and also the police that a thief broke into the compound. Na so them start to molest me o. Honestly, I cried that day, not because of the pain, but because of the denial and embarrassment I got.
I vowed never to give birth in that compound even if I marry because it made me to realise the kind of people I was living with. Imagine coming at 10pm and nobody responds at all despite using force and even stones to hit the gate to get attention. See ehn, I DONT CARE neighbours are in abundance. They just only care about themselves and I learnt a very big lesson that day.
Suffice to say the police that came were reasonable and very understanding and never molested me, but the OPC vigilante people that used the side of cutlass to be flogging me. I had my revenge on the perpetrators exactly a year after and they also pleaded with me and we settled, but that's a story for another day ! Both Landlord and co-tenants are extremely callous. |

Mumben: I saw a post on Facebook days back talking about experiences of people living in some neighborhood especially some estates in Abuja and everybody's I don't care attitude towards their neighbor and I thought to bring the topic here for your contributions.
A particular guys experience made me feel bad. He said he escorted his girlfriend who had come to visit him to the bus stop to board a taxi home. On getting to his compound gate, he knocked and knocked but no one came to open the gate even though he could see them through the small opening on the gate. Unfortunately for him, his phone was in his apartment and his girlfriend's family were calling him to inform him that the girl had an accident on her way home.
Las Las, he had to pass the night at a friend's place with only boxers and singlet he was putting on. On getting to his house Early the next morning, he saw a lot of mixed calls from the girls family, he called back and tried to explain but they didn't want to hear. He packed out of the compound one week later as he couldn't come to terms with the fact that his neighbours could be so mean.
Personally, I can't relate because some years ago in our former compound, I was in labour and my husband was not around, he called our landlord and he drove me in his car to the hospital. May God continue to bless him, he is such a good man
Share your experiences with I Don't Care kind of neighbours I saw the story also. Most of them will claim to be Christian, but ravaged by un-Christlikeness 2 Likes |

Politics / Re: Are You Willing To Pay N178,000 Monthly For A 24-hour Electricity Supply? by Cti28(m): 4:48pm On Apr 04 |
socialmediaman: The Tinubu government has just increased electricity cost for band A customers to N225 per KPH.
For context, customers in the US pay about the same cost per KPH (or cheaper) depending on the state you live in.
Energy analysts are explaining that Nigerians are willing to pay more if they have access to electricity.
Based on data from NerdWallet, the average monthly electricity cost in the US is about $137 which is about N178,000.
Are you willing to pay N178,000 monthly for electricity for a 24-hour supply? Your analysis is flowed. Is $137 and #178000 the same thing? 1 Like |

Chukwuka319: There are wells with demonic essence claiming lives of those coming to it, and until such wells are filled after special prayers, Christian or traditional, they will keep claiming lives. How could a well claim three lives at one period of time? There is more to this. I disagree, everything shouldn't be attributed to demonic influence. One should have nothing to do with water bodies if he or she can't swim. There are professionals trained for such rescue. I believe the well must be very deep and with much water. 4 Likes |

Think9ja: As Minister, once your PR team is solid, you'll have the dumb Nigerians in your pocket singing you praises.
Less than 4 months after coming on board, the dumb guys started saying the interior minister is the best performing minster simply because he made passport acquisition process easier for the japa crew.
Does his mandate begins and ends with passport matters only? Look around you, there are hundreds of illegal immigrants walking freely on the streets of Nigeria, but because he made the passport process easier, he's the best minister.
Betta Edu wanted to follow that part, but the oloshoism in her and her stealing traits didn't let her do it well.
As far as I'm concerned, no political office holder is doing anything because they didn't structure the country for them to do anything other than to chop and share slots..
For you to be labeled the best performing minister, 80% of the entire populace must feel your impact, not just people seeking to exit the dungeon. Bravo |

Politics / Re: Again, CBN Raises Import Duty Rate By Another 4.4% In 24 Hours by Cti28(m): 9:48pm On Feb 03 |
DeLaRue:
You think so, but that's not the reality.
There is a pain point at which demand for many imported goods will fall fast. People will simply start buying less and less of them. Whether that pain point is at N1500, N1800, or N2000 to a dollar, I don't know.
But the CBN will have the data. They know. If N1500 doesn't stiffle imports to the level they want, I suspect the CBN will not mind seeing naira close to N2,000 to a dollar.
In some ways, it is to the credit of Mr Tinubu's administration that it is willing to follow this extremely tough path to redirect the economy from import-dependence to greater local production. For a politician facing election in just over 3 years to follow a path that may not show positive results for a few years, is truly brave.
The Nigerian economy was heading for the rocks after over 40 years of mismanagement. Tough decisions are needed to correct long term over dependence on imports.
That naira/dollar pain point is the point at which local production of certain goods starts becoming more viable than importing the same goods. This should translate to us producing more of what we need locally. This will lead to more job creation, less pressure on the naira, and a stronger, more balanced economy in the long term.
But this approach comes with a lot of economic pain initially, as the country is witnessing now.
That's the theory o.
Whether things happen in practice like I stated above is a different matter, because Nigeria's situation often defy economic theory.
