It is very important that Nairaland does not encourage copyright infringement. How does someone copy a story from a writer's blog and paste in another site and when confronted with the issue, he claims he was going to acknowledge the original writer later after publishing the stories. Who does that. Copyright infringement occurs where a person publishes a work of another without express authorisation from the original owner of the work. the fact that the owner encouraged you to share the story simply meant that she encouraged you to share the link to her blog so that people could easily click the link and read the story from her blog and not Nairaland. The idea of copying and pasting an entire story from the original blog into nairaland is the height of copyright infringement and ought not to be encouraged. 1 Like |

why couldnt he conduct a Local Government Election. 8 years and all he did was appoint cronies as Caretaker Committee Charimen. And when you consider the calibre of traditional rulers we have in anambra state you just wonder the effectiveness of the cars as they are already established men and it wouldnt matter whether he bought them with his personal money or the Local Government money that he has converted to state money |

Peter Obi is a newspaper governor, i haven't passed UNIZIK junction lately and im wondering if he has finally completed the pedestrian bridge he's been constructing for so many years after that spot kills or harms students constantly. Well lets just say he's laid the foundation for the next governor |

please has anyone been to Oguta Road lately. thats the same road he constructed when he assumed office and its worse off now. All the roads he constructed in onitsha are in dire need of help. Peter Obi is a newspaper governor. People should go to onitsha especially and see themselves. when you get to upper iweka which happens to be the gateway to anambra state u simply wonder what he's been doing for the past 7years |

Its appalling that the so called objection emanated from an SAN, its either he didn't look at it before it was filed or he did look at it and adjudged it worthy of filing. He mentioned that plagiarism does not come under matters the federal high court has jurisdiction over. It begs the question on the true definition of plagiarism. If plagiarism is the same thing as infringement of copyright and the copyright act specifically confers exclusive jurisdiction on the federal high court to entertain matters relating to copyright infringement, then i wonder why the learned SAN would choose to differentiate or distinguish plagiarism from copyright when in fact plagiarism is a form of copyright infringement as it relates to literary works. they should waste the precious time of the court. |
