My ielts score is as follows LRWS 6.5,6.5,6.0,7.5 overall band is 6.5. My Nov code is 2282, I have done ECA. Have more than 6years experience so that know what the problem is, I also planning to rewrite ielts in sept first week but I already created my EE profile with this result. Please house I don't know what to do. Will I be able to reapply after I rewrite the ielts exam? Or is there another reason for the ineligibility.

Please make una help me ooh

amaya21:
Was any individual section less than 6? If you had 5 or 5.5 in even one, that's the problem.

Good morning Elders in the House,

Thanks for all your useful information and advises.

Just got my IELTS result,my band score was 6.5,is it ok to go ahead and create an express entry profile now and update with a better result when I write a retake in two weeks time or should I wait till I get a better band score.

Please,I am awaiting your kind response.

Stencil:
8777 would put your CRS at 468. You should be able to get ITA with that score.
It is important that you practice everyday. It is also important to mimic exam conditions when you practice. If you miss a question because you were distracted, don't pause the video/audio, keep going and try to guess what the answer is.
If your exam center uses earphones, do the same thing.
Here is a list of resources you can use.

Good luck.

Please,I would appreciate if you can throw more light on BCS and how to go about it.Currently living in Lagos

amaya21:
You don't need both BCS and Masters. BCS can be done quickly. Masters gives 7 more points than two or more certificates (which is where BCS will get you) but it will take longer and cost more.

Do you only have NYSC experience? Any other eligible work experience for at least two more years?

What is your IELTS score? Or what did you use to simulate?

Thanks Zara,

This is really helpful.

Please, how can one go about with the registration and training.

Zara01:
Hi guys,

This is for anyone who wants to boost their score by writing the BCS Certification in IT.

I know some people are looking for more information about this but they haven't found any so I've taken it upon myself to post this here.

I spoke with their head of customer service and below is the official message from them:

Thank you for contacting Compunet Limited the approved centre for British Computer Society (BCS) in Nigeria with proven records of outstanding performance from our students.

BCS has three levels:

a. Certificate in IT
b. Diploma in IT
c. Postgraduate Diploma in IT.

Please note that the CIT level is enough to earn you additional 37 points in your CRS for the Canadian immigrants.

The exams are taken every March and September and the pass mark is 40%.
The CIT has three modules/courses which are introductory courses to Computer Science or Information Technology. With or without Computer background with all the necessary support from Compunet Limited you can acing’s the three modules. We have trained secondary schools and they passed.

For Canadian immigrants, is recognized, accepted and evaluated by WES as a One-year certificate program. Hence it can be added to whatever degree you had to claim Two or more certificate with additional 37 points.

The three courses/modules for the CIT level are:
a. Information Systems
b. Software development
c. Computer and Network Technology.

The total cost of training for the three modules/courses is #150,000.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE A VERY ROBUST ONLINE PLATFORM FOR DISTANCE LEARNING STUDENTS.

#50,000 for each of the courses. With this you will get all the recommended textbooks, past questions and answers.
Condensed training materials (video, audio etc.) for all the courses. You will be added to our WhatsApp group for each of the courses where materials are frequently dropped, questions answered and 9 hours weekly classes takes place.

Membership annual fee costs 37 pounds, then each module cost 40 pounds each.
That’s a total of 157 pounds naira equivalent of about 75k depending on the exchange rate at as when you are paying.

This is the best time to register for the training because the next exam is for September

Registration for the exam ends 25th July.
Exam is either 16th - 17th September or 17th - 18th September at British Council in Lagos, Abuja and Kano.

If you're like me with no background in IT, be sure to check their website for past questions to practice with and study hard.

Hope this helps!

COPR:

BCS CIT is all you need to get the additional 37 points. It is equivalent to 1 year Canadian diploma according to WES.

Currently working in a bank as Electronic banking support staff, below is my current job description,

1.Ensure maximun system uptime fro all ebanking channel application/services
2,Setup POS merchants, configure and deploy Point of Sales(POS) terminals to merchants.
3.Provide 24/7 support for merchant POS.
4.Ensure customer issues relating to all ebanking Product are resolved promptly
5.Enduse training on Electronic banking service
6.Monitior and ensure service performance and uptime.

Would be glad if you can help with my NOC.

Regards

Stencil:
Why does it matter that it isn't up to a year? Only one of your experience has to be at least a year (continuous) and then rest can be any duration. You just have to combine them. You have enough for 3 years from what you've posted.

Good luck.

NB: They also do not have to be in the same NOC. You can combine NOCs. (for those this pertains to).

the noc has nothing to do with your degree. You are applying for visa not job

Thanks,I calculated my possible score in CRS ,express entry,it is 420 ,MSC in review, already submitted my highest degree B.Eng for WES verification

Saw a post on PNP for AIPP,Atlantic immigration pilot. From his post he said its better one get a job before applying for the PNP,when I went through the openings,I discovered that for the jobs offers related to the present work I do,the requirement would be that I have a degree in computer science or relative courses.

Please,if there anything to do to boost my Point or other options apart express entry

Thanks

For anyone having issues getting a high CRS after trying all you can, maybe because of your age or ielts especially in this era of 460's and 470's, you should consider the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program.
The IELTS requirement is low (CLB 4 or higher) as well as the POF required. The catch is you have to get a job for you to be eligible but this isn't impossible as each province has participating employers.

Checked the requirements in some of the job I could fit it,all required a get a degree in computer related studies,I'm a bit confuse,Please can you give me directions on how to go about this.
