Politics / Re: President Buhari Calls For Tighter Security Around Borders In Lake Chad by d142475: 12:11am On Nov 30, 2022
If you close the Northern borders or tightly police it, you'd solve half of Nigeria's security challenges. The terrorists move in and out of Niger, Chad, and Cameroon to Northern Nigeria.

J3susFr3ak:

While I would agree with you that the states always had the power to introduce the teaching of history on their own, and I believe some still do at that level....you have to be very aware of the fact that there has been a huge upswing in a massive propaganda brainwashing attempt to "rewrite" history mainly from the view of Northern muslims with twisted ulterior motives. They do not even need secular schools teaching secular subjects to brainwash them. Every week in their Islamic mosques they indoctrinate their footsoldiers with concentrated lies about the real histories of mainly Christian areas of the Middle Belt who were never conquered by precolonial jihadists--but only fell to British colonial rule. They try to justify their constant bloodshed and attacks on indigenous non-muslim groups by REWRITING the real history of particular places with bold faced shameless lies.

As for the issue of security...you also know as well that state Governors being in charge of security might as well be some type of sham right? Their powers to curb incursions is almost always limited by actions at the Federal level.

The Military structure of the entire country needs to be totally overhauled and reconstituted as it has become an easy tool for whoever is in charge to abuse. The title "Commander-in-Chief" of a supposed Nigerian nation only exists to aggressively push for the self-centered interests of the individual's ethnic/religious group without any real checks and balances--even if that Head of State would covertly support terrorists--and simultaneously pretend to support the military at the same time..

Now how about ensuring that the Governor has the power to actually dictate to the Police and the Military in their domain about an urgent security issue without the need to consult a God-forsaken "abuja" for once? Of course, blocking that reality will only lead to the eventual formations of State owned Para-Military forces to match the functions and purpose of the military in such cases where Fulani Terrorists attack villages near an army cantonment near Jos....but they just watched, waiting for orders from Abuja. Yet they were very very quick to respond against the Jos natives when there was a counter-attack against the marauding Muslim murderers.

Ancient History. Modern contemporary history...all need to be taught in all fairness and truth since it merely records the evils and abuses of mostly people in power and those who idolize them.

No doubt Nigeria needs to be restructured, he even with current structure, the states can do a lot to alleviate the plight of their people. If you know how much our governors collect from Abuja in the name of allocation and security votes and how little they do with it, you’d cry. Also, if a governor is nkt corrupt and truly works for his people and have his people solidly behind him, Abuja will be cautious with that governor.
About the current structure, these governors don’t respect the constitution or rule of law in the governance of their respective states (they are lawless -mini emperors), but once it comes to taking radical steps to actually benefit their people, they point to the constitution as tying their hands. If I am governor, I’d damn that evil constitution (as they usually do when it benefits them and their cronies) and Abuja and ARM a well formed vigilante to fight Fulani herdsmen that are killing my people (after all they have armed thugs already that do the dirty jobs for them). I won’t wait for Abuja to give me permission to defend my people against the marauding barbarians.

Politics / Re: Abaribe To Wike: Go Ahead And Release Another Album, An Igbo Man Is No Slave by d142475: 8:06pm On Nov 26, 2022
The Igbos and ikwerres are more related to each other than the Hausas and Fulanis ( no relationship at all). But the latter have come together to act as a unit while the former are busy fighting each other claiming to be freemen. The South should be busy fighting each other while the North continues to enslave them and pillage their resources. Schooled morons; sophisticated idiots. Keep forming educated, while those you claim are uneducated are busy enslaving your people. Mtchew.
Education / Re: FG Flags Off Teacher Training Program To Reintroduce History In Basic School by d142475: 3:46pm On Nov 25, 2022
But why blame the FG? States had the power to introduce history in the curriculums in their respective territories, but they did not. States can provide quality curriculum for the pupils and students in addition to whatever the federal government requires. States can organize a well supported local vigilante and set up a “see something, say something” policy where citizens are enlightened to report suspicious movements. Some States have the money to buy one or two helicopters, which combs the forests in their territories once a week to check for hideouts of bandits and Fulani herdsmen, but they won’t. The State governments are the major problems we have . Our governors are worse than Buhari

illuminutty:
North will soon lead the dissolution of this bad marriage called Nigeria. I trust my northern brothers. They have agriculture and now oil, they can confidently kick southern Nigerian goodbye. The only thing that have kept them to this contraption is oil.

The North won't. It is their life dream to wreck the South kpata kpata before they go. Watch and see, the oil discovered will be hijacked by the North only. Watch the use the word "Local consumption". It won't be treated as a national resources, but as a local resources. Watch out and see. The same way they have localized the Zamfara Gold.

Also, the North is landlocked. They need the coasts of the South and are also afraid of the vast human capital liability they have intentionally created over the years. They won't leave Nigeria until they are sure that Nigeria is completely dead kpata kpata.

Celebrities / Re: Toyin Abraham Reacts Following Davido’s Alleged Traditional Wedding To Chioma by d142475: 3:34pm On Nov 14, 2022
This loss is going to take a hit on Davido's music career and stardom. The reason being that Davido, though he has not produced any hit song recently, manages to be in the news by his outgoing lifestyle-either on social media or in real life(gallivanting over the place), with this tragic incident and his subseqeunt marriage, he would become a more calm and circumspect person. If that becomes the case, we won't hear much about him again unless through music. Until now, he was able to stay relevant without his music by injecting himself in the news and being in our faces, now if he doesn't let his music do that talking, he's finished as far as stardom goes.

Thats the sad thing. They won't get anything. Atiku is more brutal than Buhari. He will crush them if (God forbid) he gets power. The kindest thing he may do to them is to ignore them completely if he gets power. But I don't see Atiku ignoring them, he'd pay them back by humiliating them.

Business / Re: $1 Back To ₦‎690 At Black Market by d142475: 9:14am On Nov 11, 2022
savcy:
If oil is the principal exchange commodity of the country, and the assumption is that the value of our currency is tied to the price per barrel of oil, how come the Naira plummets in value arbitrarily, and without explanation, all when the price of oil is high? What sort of economy are we operating? A country that celebrates BLACK MARKET fx rates to the detriment of her OFFICIAL fx rates cannot be taken seriously. We're still joking with our fiscal policy with the BDCs still around. Redesign notes, raid BDC offices... All will amount to nothing on the long run. When all is said and done, and the dust settles the hydra headed demon called the BDCs would again rear up their ugly head and wreak financial havoc. Jokers!

From your contribution, it seems you have some technical knowledge. What do you think is the solution to this problem? I not an expert, but Here’s my lay man’s thinking: The government should step up to advocate for Nigerian businesses so that international transactions can be carried out through bank transfers or through the use of special debit cards. The government can serve as some sort of guarantors since these international entities are afraid of fraud from naija. Also, since a good number of our businesses are with China, our government and Chinese government or business community can set up a payment system that doesn’t involve the use of physical cash( dollar or yen). In that case, the banks and credit card companies do the conversion at official rates, Also, domiciliary accounts should be eliminated.
When these happen, there’d be less demand for actual cash (dollars and yen) . This will put the BDCs out of business. What will an importer or manufacturer need cash for if his transactions could be done through bank or through a special debit card?

there are some factors you need to consider about the purchasing power of currency you are using beer and food as comparison. for beer we have a lot of beer manufacturing companies in Nigeria and the agricultural products they used to produce beer is locally available that is why it is very cheap.. there Re many places in Nigeria today that you will spend up to 3000k for a complete meal before you can satisfy I am not talking about local food vendor and the price of food meal is not the same in every region in Nigeria.. in north is very cheap because they are extensively into farming in south west it is fair in the south east is not that bad then go to south south it is very bad.. so you cannot tell me our currency has a powerful purchasing power with this present economy situation compare to 2015 abi are you not in Nigeria again what we used to buy 1k is not like 5k

Politics / Re: TikTokers, Mubarak Uniquepikin & Nazifi Muhammad In Jail For Criticizing Ganduje by d142475: 2:43am On Nov 03, 2022
The North is the most repressive and backward region in Nigeria. They detest the relative freedom of expression in the other parts of the country and want to impose their repressive culture on the rest of us, but they WILL NEVER SUCCEED. The difference between the Southern Youths and the Northern youths is clear: The former are more expressive, ambitious, confident, funny, and outgoing while the latter are more laid back, withdrawn, settle easily for the minimum, and conservative. Their leaders want to keep them so.

He is desperate for power, he is unprincipled, he can't be trusted as he speaks from both sides of his mouth, he is an ethnic jingoist, he is not able to reconcile different interests in his party let alone unify our diverse country; he is a bigot; he is fantastically corrupt, an the is not able to articulate a policy position or convincingly tells us about his plans. He is Buhari Pro- Max. May Atiku not happen to Nigeria.

The CBN needs to be moved from Abuja to Lagos; the Supreme Court be moved from Abuja to Enugu; the national assembly be moved from Abuja to Ibadan; the naval headquarters be moved to Porthacourt, the army headquarters be moved to Kaduna, and the airforce headquarters be moved to Abeokuta. INEC headquarters be moved to Lokoja; NNPC headquarters be moved to Uyo; customs headquarters be moved to Lagos; DSS command be moved to Auchi.
We need to decentralize this damn country. This country is designed to keep the federating units esnalved to the cabals in Abuja, people who do not know us nor care about us. Enough is enough.

Each state needs to have their own education policy and capacity for accrediting schools and university in their jurisdiction (with the federal government only providing broad guidelines and serving in a consultative capacity.

States need to have the ability to generate their own power or opt to join the national grid.

States need to be able to control their own resources and pay something to the federal government and not the other way round.

States need to have their own respective constitutions, police, and national guards.

States in a region need to be subordinated to a regional government, which coordinates the joint affairs of each region so that the respective regions can speak with one voice.

We need to have a part time national assembly that meets for a specific times in a year and ad hoc.

There need to be a referendum clause in the constitution.

It needs to be clear that Nigeria is a secular state. The state is supposed to be absolutely neutral in matters of religion and faith.

Enough is enough. We need to liberate our country from the hands of foreign marauders, who have hijacked our government and are bent on controlling our lives and stifling our dreams.
