Digatron: thanks guys, I've done it and my fone is good to roll now. fortunately I have my titanium backup files in my sd card.
most importantly, I observed that for n7 , wen u factory reset/data wipe , the phone is still rooted unlike n3 wen u wipe / factory reset n3, everything goes even d rooting.
