Investment / How To Become An Investor In Your 20’s With Compound Interest In View by dailyguide(m): 11:50am On Aug 22, 2019
One of the biggest mistakes we make as young people is the dependent on salaries/wages from jobs as the only source of getting rich. The tragedy of which is that we are often wrong on this assumption. Trying to save up your salaries on a monthly basis aren’t advisable ways to securing a financial trouble free future for yourself.

Most of the times when we try to be smart and make good use of our pay or earnings , we decide to tie down money buy acquiring things of which most times are liabilities. Having to make money is no longer the issue but the ability to multiply money is what we lack knowledge of.

It is often disheartening that we make mention of investments but we haven’t got the courage to venture into any. This is the purpose of this article today, to open your eyes to the secret of investment and the need for you to start it.

May I quickly make this disclaimer that an investment is not something you get on today and expect to start getting dividends on it the next month if you are really going for something big and massive. This is why I am being specific in the age range for this article in my topic.

As a young man or woman in his/her 20’s your investments are for your days in the 40’s and above when your interests would have compounded and multiplied.

Beds, cars, mobile phones, TVs – and anything that naturally depreciates with use and time – are not investments so don’t count things like this which we almost spend money on in our 20’s as investments.

What are Investments?

Investment is putting money to work to start or expand a project – or to purchase an asset or interest – where those funds are then put to work, with the goal to income and increased value over time. The term “investment” can refer to any mechanism used for generating future income. In the financial sense, this includes the purchase of bonds, stocks or real estate property among several others.

The need to start pumping your money into something valuable and yielding at this early stage of life is very important. There is a need to understand the distinct difference between spending and investing.

Spenders don’t get richer, investors do!

Are you spending or investing?

Where are you throwing your money?

Yes the excuse is “I don’t make a hundred thousand, I only get a token.”

The question is “What do you do with the token?”

Rome wasn’t built in a day, if you can’t accumulate in small things then you can’t accumulate bigger things.

I was a boy less than 20 when I walked into the bank to inquire about fixed deposit but I was foolish when I walked out simply because the interest was low.

Take this, no interest come in millions on the start, it comes little, it’s your interest you wait for to compound and in a few while, the seeming little will be too much to handle.

In my next post I will be giving a list of things you can invest in while in your 20’s to secure for yourself a great future.

One thing I will also want to project to you as we journey this road of investment is letting your interest grow. Don’t be a premature interest reaper. Learn to reap compound interest.

Here is a mathematical explanation :

I invested in a venture a sum of 100,000naira on an interest of 5% per month which means at the end of each month I get 105,000naira

To some, 5,000 Naira is a gain they need to start enjoying immediately but no! You must learn to reinvest your 105,000naira to get an increased amount the following month.

When your principal increase, your interest move and at that, by the time you are done in a couple of years, your return on investment(ROI) will be massive.

Begin to build in yourself the mind of an investor as we proceed in this investment strategy walk. You can’t afford to live in a dark future, start investing in it and begin to foresee its brightness even when you are yet to be there.

Hello
Hi good evening
Education / 2 Monetization Skills That Will Pay Your Bills On Campus by dailyguide(m): 12:10pm On Aug 20, 2019
One of the most seemingly challenging issue often faced by students on campuses today are financial crisis. I have been there so I know, and you can attest to it if you are or know now if you don't.

The cost of moving from hostels off campus to school everyday, feeding, handouts/textbooks, general expenses, school fees, semester registration bills etc just to mention in few, are part of the killer factors that can make schooling miserable.

This is why except you got parents always funding you asap on request you need to get a side hustle on campus. Now in this short article I will be putting you through working strategies, tested and trusted that I have tried and had worked for me and is worthy of recommendation.

If you visit my blog dailyguide.com.ng you will know I am business minded and my guides are absolute. To this affirm this, let’s see these 2 monetization keys that will increase your financial life on campus.

Don’t be bothered about why I am only discussing two, there is no point having a long list and get you confused on which to pick. I will give you two with complete guide then you explore it!

Let’s Get Started…

Become A Freelancer or Subcontract It :

Who is a freelancer? A freelancer is someone who offers services for a fee and usually with no expectation of a permanent single client, although the working relationship can be ongoing. It's a form of self-employment, similar to operating a home business.

Do you know there are lots of services you can render on campus and get paid for?

Have you thought about selling project topics/materials? We have it on myschool.ng, all you need to do is market yourself on campus that you sell project topics, when you have anybody who wants to buy, you just come search for available projects under such department on myschool and inflate the price, the person pays you, you buy cheap from myschool and keep your balance.

Have you thought about designing blogs and websites for associations on campus? Departments, fellowships, etc they will pay you real well to get that done. You might not know how to do it but you can subcontract it to someone who can. Negotiate with the person, get a high pay from who you are designing for and pay the designer less then keep your balance.

I can design a blog for you if you need my service!

Have you thought about selling past questions to jambites coming into your school? General post utme wraps are all over the Net, add some spices to yours and compile it into PDFs then create a platform for yourself where jambites can buy, it can be on Jim it’s Facebook groups, nairaland, jambites WhatsApp groups etc.

This is is just to mention few under freelancing. Follow my blog(www.dailyguide.com.ng) to buy my ebook on how to make money on campus.

2. Start A Campus Gist Blog:

Oh my God! This is on blazing idea you can afford to miss.

What about having a blog like lasugist.com, unilagnews.com, unibengist.com, fuoyenews.com etc awesome right.

Now this is an added advantage to you because you can do all sort of freelancing on it.

You can sell postume past questions

You can sell project topics.

You can sell tangible stuff like wears, and deliver to people within the campus, you know these are what students like.

Advertising for people is also one great way of getting your money on your blog.

Another head banging idea is when you jambites about entering your school are always following your blog and you decide to be an agent for those that want to get a hostel off campus.

Just create a space for that on your blog and discuss with a trustworthy agent and just as people are contacting you for hostels you refer them to your agent, your agent get paid and give you your share on each student.

Lol ...mouth watering right? Yes but you need a platform which is a bog and you can design it yourself for a token and start making your money.

So in a nutshell, these are the two powerful ways you can start rolling in cash on campus and become a better person.

If you stay in Lagos and you are interested in learning how to create a blog professionally from scratch you can join my upcoming seminar. It is well loaded and packaged, get more info on my blog.

Nice tips. Gone are those days when we used to ask our sisters and brothers at home to send recharge cards to us in school to sell for students at cheap amount whenever we were broke or lack money to travel home during vacations.

Welcome to another interesting morning section on Dailyguide Business column, this morning I will like us to look at an important aspect of our business life.

One the biggest challenges of students is financial constraints, there are always a few things to pay for at different times of your study in school. The need to keep yourself in a good state of being is also a necessity and often times, the pocket money is not just a match to the bills on ground.

Today, I will be sharing some business ideas for students on campus. Where necessary, I will also be sharing the stories of friends who did such businesses while we were in school.

Course, school fees and scholarship registrations
unilag_changeofcourse_form
I place this as my number 1 business idea for students on campus, why? It is still a money-spinner. One will think with the proliferation of cheap internet this business will fade but it hasn’t. Some students don’t just have the time to sit down and start registering for courses. Even those that have the time, prefer not to be frustrated by their school’s slow web portal. I had a few friends in this business and they did pretty well.

Another plus about this business is that you get to know many people. A network built from here could be of help many years after graduation. A tip in this business is to have someone working with/for you, maybe another student. This is because there are peak times when the jobs will just be too much for only one person to handle.

What you’ll need: Laptop, good internet supply, printer/scanner/photocopier, generator (optional).

2. Typing of assignments/projects, photocopying and scanning

This can be done in line with the business above. However, if you don’t have the internet you can start with just typing and photocopying first. A relative of mine did this business and was able to raise money for his OND project. Apart from the money raised, his typing speed increased dramatically which is a good skill in any office setting.

What you’ll need: Laptop, printer, printer/scanner/photocopier

3. Printing on shirts/jerseys

Campuses have organisations that will need printed shirts from time to time. Departments and faculties may also need customised shirts. All you have to do is negotiate a price, agree on the design then meet a printer. My good friend still does this business to make extra money today. He started it in the university. As an Aba boy, he had contacts who were into shirt printing. In school, he steadily pitched his business to campus fellowships and students. It paid off.

What you’ll need: Nothing else apart from you.

4. Tutorial services

If you’re blessed with a sharp brain you may want to consider tutorial services. With tutoring, you get to make some money and sharpening your intellect as well. You can target freshers or pre-degree student. Students are willing to pay for a class if they’re confident that the tutor can add to their knowledge.

If you want to take this business to the next level, you can make your own “Past questions and answers” and sell. Some students have gone on to make big money producing and selling past questions.

What you’ll need: Your brain, chalk/markers, past examination questions.

5. Phone repairs

5868046370_9da91ecf4d_z
Virtually every student has at least one phone. Imagine the potential market for a student on campus who knows how to repair phones. To be in this business you have to know how to repair phones. Thankfully, we have just the perfect guide for someone considering starting this business.

What you’ll need: Technical know-how (Expo: You can get free guides on how to fix problems on iFixit), phone repair toolkit

6. nd who was very good at plaiting hair. According to her, anytime she needed small money, she will actively market herself to ladies in the hostel. At the end of the day, she could go home with up to ₦2,000. This is a skill that is not that difficult to learn. Same with barbing. Also, this business does not require much capital to start. For the ladies, this business can be combined with the sale of hair attachments and other products.

What you’ll need: Skill, clippers, combs, mirror, thread, wool, attachment.

It is a pity how many people let their business ideas get taken away from them as a result of their sluggish act in getting to work.

Maybe you did not know that there is no monopoly of ideas, as you are thinking of starting that business in your mind, thousands of people are also taking thoughts of that same idea. Now the issue is not about who has the greatest plans or thought but the person who stood up to action, walk into the corporate affairs commission to register the business and get at work.

Take it or you leave it, the truth remains that you don’t need money to start a business but to grow the business.

There has been a great quote or rather saying that goes “the way up is down” you don’t climb the stairs from the top, you start from down and you ascend to the top.

Getting or looking out to owning a luxury before starting a business is another definition of unwillingness to work. You think Mark started Facebook with messenger and those apps he has now, you think dangote started with those trucks he now use, you think Steve Jobs started Apple with Xsmax?

They all started with little or nothing but with time began to grow and mind you those are jus to mention but a few.

Today in this post, I will be showing you how you can successfully build your business with little or no capital involved.

So if you are still wallowing in the thoughts of how to get started with your business, then you are lucky to be reading this.

Let’s Get Started!

Below are the Guides To Building A Successful Business In Nigeria

Be Sure :

I am sorry to disappoint you, but if you are thinking this is a start today, get rich tomorrow guide, then you are so wrong.

If you must build a successful business, you must be sure you are ready to give it all it takes. Not just financially but your time and other resources. You need to ask yourself a question of whether you are ready to start and stand by the business till it becomes a great brand.

You can’t afford to start a business and in the long run start getting inconsistent. People will look at you as unserious. So the first thing to battle as you are about to build your own Business is the decision of the heart that you are ready to breakthrough.

2. Highlight and Identify The Needed Resources:

One of the mistakes we make often times is the fact that we are too quick to clamor for cash even when we haven’t sat down to see what exactly the business you are about to start needs.

There is a need for you to sit your butt down and wrote out the things you need to get your business standing. I’m doing this you don’t have to include unnecessary or extravagant things that are not useful for now.

You need an office? As a starter you shouldn’t think of going for an office complex, you can get a mini office apartment.

Try to minimize your cost of starting.

You know the problem we have is that....continue reading here ...https://dailyguide.com.ng/how-to-build-a-successful-business-in-nigeria-with-little-or-no-capital/

There are so many information on the internet on how to start fish farming in Nigeria especially catfish farming but few are detailed enough to really assist aspiring fish farmer to get started. I will endeavor to make this article as detailed as possible and hope that other experienced fish farmer will add to it as we try to answer people’s questions by commenting.

One of the most popular agribusiness in Nigeria is fish farming and for good reasons. Gone are the days when the only means of getting fish is by catching it in the local rivers and ponds through trial and errors. Today, the modern farm practice has made it possible to grow fish in the farms and control the input.

If you are thinking of business to start now, I recommend you start cat fish farming. If you are an existing farmer and you are looking to expand your farm capacity, I’d encourage you add fish farming to your line of business. Fish farming (especially catfish) is most compatible with poultry farming as you can use the poultry drops to produce the feed for your fish.

Benefits of Fish Farming

1. Fish is Popular

Fishery products is by far the most popular animal products in the market, constituting more than 60% of meat produce in the Nigerian market.

2. Fish is Source of Protein

Fish is one of the highest source of protein. It is a low-fat high quality protein that is filled with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins such as D and B2 (riboflavin). Fish is also very rich in calcium and phosphorus and is equally a great source of minerals, such as iron, zinc, iodine, magnesium, and potassium.

3. Fish Sells Quick

Fish sells faster than any other animal products in the market and is relatively cheaper than meats, making it the number one choice when it comes to affordability.

4. Fish Matures Quickly
