Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria is an association of licenced private and government owned Radio and television stations operation in nigeria. It is a non profit and non political organisation. It is NOT a regulatory body and not also a parastatal of any government in Nigeria. It is registered with the Corporate Affairs commission. It was formed in 1973 to pull resources together to transmit the All African Games and later FESTAC. It's members include among others Multichoice (DSTV) Startimes, NTA, VON, Channels, Silverbird TV, AIT, Raypower, all state radio and TV stations, ITV, Galaxy,Cool FM, Wazobia,Radio Nigeria ,DBN, Inspiration FM, TVC, Blaze FM,Brilla FM, Confluence Cable Network Lokoja,Desmins Kaduna, freedom Radio Kano,Joy FM Otukpo, MINAJ Obosi, Nargata Radio Kaduna, Radio Gotel Yola, Rahmah Radio Kano,Rock City FM Abeokuta and a host of others.BON is funded primarily from subscription of members. It's like Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, Advertisers Association of Nigeria, and other Associations that cater for the interest of their members. It is not National Broadcasting Commission which is the regulatory authority for Broadcasting. |
