Today, October 5th happens to be World’s Teachers Day.

I’m a teacher of English and Literature in a School, so it’s my day. Happy World’s Teachers Day to all Teachers all over the World.

Talking about teaching, apart from being in the classroom and teaching academics there are other things I’m passionate about teaching and one of which I am doing here on my blog.

I happened to be in the midst of teachers today and our subject was

Beyond barriers

I watch a lot of TEDx talks on YouTube and have been blessed by it. I imagine myself on that platform talking someday and today I had the opportunity of being in a TEDx talk not as a speaker but as an attendee

It’s a privilege to be in the midst of sharp and bright minds, you get to learn from them and increase your capacity. I believe if I get to stay in such a company all the time there would always be something to take home. TEDx okumagbaave is an independently run ted talk by individuals and not the government.

This is the second edition and it was fabulous. Having this here in warri opened my eyes to more possibilities, it showed me an area where good can come out from.



If you live in Nigeria and you hear about warri Delta state, it is best said that nothing good comes out of the town. I’m working on an article for a client and since I have been writing that article I haven’t talked about any good thing and that is because I haven’t seen any. Its been from one problem to another and me looking for solutions to these problems.

Today, I saw good in the land but there is no platform for expression. There is more good in the land and if the good ones are not appreciated or given room to utilize their skills they might actually run away to a more favorable place which so many of us are already doing, relocating for a better future.

We had so many speakers and one of them was our very own warri artist " Erigga"

Erigga is a popular artist who came from warri to the world. His songs are raw, pure street and motivational. He tells us about the street life and how he rose to the top.

Today he said something ” Home is where your mind is “.

Don’t limit yourself, work hard and make things work for you even in impossibility.

Other speakers we had were Nichole Yembra, Paddy Iyamu, Hon Ben Igbakpa


Nichole talked about us using our voice as a weapon for change and demanding from the government to create an environment for tech and other industries to come in.


One thing warri people are known for is too much talk and no action. We can complain about the police extorting us each day but we can’t come out and carry out a protest against these people. Well, “who wants to die”is the regular slang of the warri men.

This is a barrier that needs to be broken.

Other speakers came up and talked about us breaking the barriers in our minds.

Yes, a man’s biggest barrier is his mind. Some see the limitation and then settle for less but you shouldn’t let your limitations make you settle for less.

You should actually see beyond your limitation, be strategic, ask others for their opinions because what might be a barrier to you can be solved by another person. There might just lie your answer, so first, break the barriers in your mind.

Do not let anything limit you, do not let your environment stop you.



At the end of the talk, there was an open mic for contributions and I grabbed the opportunity immediately.

I walked up on stage and introduced myself as a writer and speaker and here was what I said.

” There are millions of problems in Warri, wherever there is a problem there is a solution. So we should be the solutions to the problem”

Beyond barriers, beyond the problems in Warri, delta state. What are the solutions?
Solutions are in us, let’s birth them out, it starts from an idea being convinced and developed into one that can be sustainable.

A new friend I met said this to me

Passion without sustenance is suicide”

I pitched an idea to him and he asked me a question which left me thinking( mehn this hustle is real oh, you gotta think and rethink, God help me )

So I say to you, my dear friends;

Make that passion sustainable, ask others what they think and you never know where your answer might come from.

Lastly, let’s break beyond our barriers and see opportunities, don’t limit yourself. Don’t hide, your voice is needed so come out and speak.

Don’t feel pressured or sad about anything, don’t think about what your mates are doing. Don’t say "is God not seeing me, he’s blessing peter and he can’t bless me".

You have no mate, God treats everyone special. Focus on him and know what he is saying at all times. Do not let what is happening right now take you out of God’s plan.

His plan is not of evil, he has good plans for you so keep doing that which is right and good and submit yourself to God. Some people are quick to blame God for their loss or misfortune when truly it was their disobedience that led them there. Believe in yourself, you are the only one with that vision, so keep driving it.

Have faith in God

Yes, know it’s not easy, but what is the worst that can happen if you keep chasing your dreams. Two things can happen, it’s either you succeed or you fail, if you fail try again. Keep trying until you get it. One thing the devil does is that he makes you lose confidence in yourself, he tells you ” look at your mate, you are wasting your time, you are too old, you are not good enough”. He says

OK fine let’s agree that he is right, but what about him. Where is his mate? He was an angel that was sent to hell, his mates are in heaven but look at him, in hell. He’s not where his mate is. He’s a stupid guy, don’t listen to him you have no mate.


So keep going after that dream, learn to take away negativity, be open to anything, don’t limit yourself. Stop crying, it will work out. The dream might be blurry but it doesn’t matter, keep going it will become so clear like your reality.

When all hope is lost, have faith in God. He wants to be there every step of the way. He doesn’t want you to run to him when you have lost your hope alone. He doesn’t want you to run to him when you are down alone. Even in your happiness, he wants to be there, even when you go out he wants to tell you things but how does he tell you when you don’t let him in.


Philippians 4:6 Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Even in the midst of trials and temptation the Lord shall give us peace, make it known to him.
Prayer is a conscious effort, we all need to cultivate the habit of speaking with God and waiting for him to talk to us too. God wants to tell you everything so ask him to come into your life.

Prayer works have faith in God. He always comes through, he came through for me and he’s always coming through for me. Is it you that he so much love that he won’t come through for, have faith in God today.

Now I see God as my father who has provided everything for me, there’s an assurance I have that my future is settled. I believe strongly that everything I want in life would come to me I just have to be obedient.

Have been battling with some thoughts this past day but no more shall they have Dominion over me, I control everything
I have the power, I have victory. I am victorious, I walk in that consciousness. Negative thoughts have no dominion over me, I reign in life, I think positively. My thoughts are in line with God’s word.

Thank you, Lord, for I am an overcomer.
Today I say to you, all hope is not lost, have faith in God, it will work out for you

If you stand for anything you will fall for everything. Create a vision, don’t let fate create one for you.

My journey has been a very interesting one that sometimes I laugh at myself for all the errors I have made. Time wasted, years I would have been productive, but I stood for nothing

I allowed fate to ride my boat, tossing me through storms without navigating me through the right course.

Every way is not a way

Have been looking for ways to get my works out there, I know I’m good at writing and speaking.

Write a vision

A friend of mine invited me to a show where I would get to meet lots of people. I decided to use that as an avenue in meeting presenters. I got carried away and I said I wanted to be a host.

Being a speaker falls into a different category. One could be an entertainer or an educator. I didn’t write down my vision so I felt I could do anyone since I was a good speaker.

Make your vision plain

I didn’t make my vision plain so I fell for anything. This also applies to all areas of our life, not just career. Relationships for me can be put under 30% I suck at keeping them. Not because I’m not a good person or a faithful girl but because I actually do not know what I want in a guy.

Since last year have been going on a self-development journey and I have a clear understanding of what I want. This indecisiveness has caused me to fall for any guy. Some were just supposed to be friends but we ended up as lovers.

Stop falling for anything and create a vision board.
Why I’m I here: this becomes your vision. Ask yourself lots of why’s until you figure it Out
What I’m I supposed to do: this becomes your mission. Now you would know what job offers to take, what guys to date, how to project your vision.

Are you falling for anything?

It’s time to create a vision, you can’t be falling for everything and wasting your years.

An idle man falls for anything. Today he’s a plumber, tomorrow an electrician, next time you hear he is a tailor. He has no vision so he falls for everything.

Today, I’m challenging you to write down your vision and navigate it till it gets to the top. How are you going to take your business to the next level depends on your vision for the business.

One of the things that makes me happy is my dreams. Even though things are not going well for me I try my best to get out of that moody state because I know everything is working out for my good.

My words are traveling far and wide impacting lives because that’s what I’m called for.

I’m going to be so rich as a blogger and a writer.

A vision has been laid but for all this to be achieved, I need to work towards it. How will I achieve this is what that matters?

How stressful it is to go on one more time . I understand this feeling cause I have been there and I’m just getting out of it but wait to this before you quit.

Sometimes all we want to do is sit and do nothing ,take a break from everything and everyone . Sometimes things don’t go as planned ,you feel like just shutting down .


That idea ain’t coming along as before,therefore the book seems uninteresting to you. you just feel like punching the delete button on it .

That blog ain’t giving you traffic ,no readers anymore ,you feel like you are talking to yourself ,it no longer makes sense .

Your job is stressful, the employees are driving you crazy ,you feel like just screaming at the top of your voice and sending in your resignation .

Your relationship ain’t fun anymore , you ain’t feeling the vibe, it doesn’t seem to work . You desire something else , he no longer understand you . There’s always dispute that disturbs your inner mind .



You’ve lost everything, gone bankrupt , everyone has drifted from you cause you no longer have what you use to have .

You lost a loved one ,you can’t imagine going one more day , you are now depressed. You’ve landed into a state of confusion , you feel stuck , sad and its time to give up

Wait ! Do this before you quit

Ask yourself why ?

Why did you start that blog
Why did you start writing
Why did you love that person
Why did you walk down the aisle
Why did you love your job

Thinking about the why’s , I’m sure there’s a spark of light that illuminates your heart giving you joy that’s now evident on your face as you smile . Remembering how things used to work for you and how you used to be happy then, why give up now .

Sometimes when things are not working for us we feel its time to just quit and move on.

It’s time to ask yourself why did I start this then use that feeling as a fuel to keep you going.

Learn the lesson
Sometimes when we are in a place of confusion or stagnation its because we are being tested . life is an exam ,the words we hear and learn each day is our books , with this knowledge we would be tested .

Often times ,the things we come across have happened to us in the past.

Life is a de ja vu

Things keeps reoccurring and would continue occurring it depends on how we handle it . The course would be served until death . you have to learn the lesson and know how to handle such situation whenever it arises .

Why is your business not growing ?

Why is your life stuck ?

Why is your relationship no longer fun?

Why is life tiring?

You are not doing something right

All you need is to learn why it is not working and look for other ways to make it work instead of quitting.

Face the storm
Fear is a sinking force . it brings your attention to the problem with no solution and once this feeling is birthed you start drowning .

we fail to see the answer to our problems because we are too focused on the problem .


Love doesn’t feel right sometimes ,we get confused , we ask why we are in love with that person but answers don’t show forth . There might be issues all the time , you don’t agree on same things and we think ending it would be the best remedy .

It won’t ,face the issue . Talk to him/her about how you truly feel . Don’t spark up when they are speaking from anger , one should suppress their anger for the other . Don’t shout or walk away when they are angry ,listen to their worries and cries only then can you truly find the answers you seek for .

I have come to realize that if you fail to handle dispute in your relationship and you run away, you would face same issues in another relationship. Its better to sit and trash things out . learn how to communicate.

Communication begins when you are able to come to a persons level of understanding and you start speaking from there . Be suggestive not imposing ,don’t buckle up emotions. Communicate with your partner only then can you solve the main issue .

Don’t close that blog

Don’t stop writing that book

Don’t give up on that business

Don’t divorce that man

Face the storm

Learn the lessons ,take a break if it requires it but come back better and ready to get it right

There’s no peace without a storm ,you would face storms in everything you do but do not be afraid ,do not focus your attention on it ,it would pass away .

Speak to that storm

What are you saying concerning that situation. we tend to tear down things with our own words . we find it more easier to say negative things than positive .

When the storm arises , speak to it , speak Gods word to it . Focus on the word of God .

Out of the word was the world birthed

What is God saying concerning that situation . He’s saying all things are working together for my good . He didn’t say all things are not working but it is already working .

Don’t keep shut , say the word . Say this words to yourself and visit this site to get more confessions and messages to boost your life .
