Dear Phone Engineers, I have a problem with my Nokia 6288 slide phone. I was trying to upgrade on the internet, suddenly the phone went off. I tried putting it on again, it didnt come on. the battery was removed and then fixed back but didnt come on. Up till now, my phone has not come on. What could be the problem. |

Be sure that ur blowers are all working, put on the car's ignition and open the engine's bonette to check if it is working. i guess the low level water in the radiator should be as a result of one of the fan/blower not working. Try and check |

I am appreciating as many that made one comment or the other as regards the problem highlighted. You are all great. I know many would want to know what eventually happened to my car engine, was the problem solved or not? The problem was solved, but without visiting any mechanic, one morning when i was ready to go to work, i started it, and engaged the drive gear immediately and moved, it didnt stop, subsequently, i did same, and observed that the engine was no longer stopping after the gear engagement. I feel there was water contents entraped in the distributor, but constant heat generated by the engine when in use, licked it up. I say thank you to all once again. have a blissful week ahead and God bless you all.  |

Midas02: I called Kunle as suggested by Ugonna, he said the problem should be with the distributor. That water must have found its way into it, same as what Medas02 outlined to be one of the possible problems. To my greatest suprise, this morning after the rain, I started the engine and engaged it immediately to drive gear and discovered that it didnt stop. I suppose that the constant heat generated by the engine must have licked up any moisture content or water that might have been trapped inside the distributor, all the same I will still observe the engine to knowif it had completely stopped and will later bring words to the house. sultaan: @Sultaan, The length of the muffler that was fixed was not too long just about 20cm, and it was attached just at the end of the exhaust as shown in the picture below and the muffler is a new one for that matter without any clogg inside it. I will try and call Kunle today as suggested by Ugonna. Thanks

@Midas02, you have done a great job. I shall definitely try and follow the steps especially checking the muffler. I remember now that exactly the day I attached a new muffler to the exhaust end was the same day this problem started. But before now, I took the car to a car wash to steam wash the engine. After the steaming, I tried to start it and discovered this problem too. So, I wouldnt know whether it was the muffler I fixed or the engine steaming since the two were done same day. All the same thanks. |

Dear Nairalanders, I appreciate all ur contributions so far. A colleague told me that the problem was that the engine is too low, even after checking the engine's metre on the dashboard, it was discovered that the reading was below 1- according to him, he said it should be exactly on 1 that was why if I try to press the accelerator, it goes off. He said I have to tune it up a lil bit, . When I took it to my mechanic yesterday and explained to him what was wrong, he tuned the engine up. To my suprise, this morning I tried to press the accelerator after starting the engine, I observed that the problem is still there. |

Dear Nairalanders, I observed a problem with my 96 Toyota Camry Car recently. When you start the engine of the car and u are about to engage the drive gear in readiness to move, it stops immediately. When it is started again, it comes up and when ure ready to drive after engaging it, it stops. What could be wrong with the car? N.B Automatic Transmission |
