Sports / Re: Kano Pillars Arrive Malaysia For Basketball Tournament (photos) by DangotePikin: 7:42pm On Sep 11, 2017
naptu2:

Just one, the Kwese Premier League (and its lower divisions) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_Premier_League_(basketball) ) . Winners of the Kwese Premier League play in the FIBA Africa Clubs Cup (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIBA_Africa_Clubs_Champions_Cup ).

However, in 2016 some of the most famous clubs created a new African league (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Basketball_League ) . The clubs included Lagos Islanders (partly owned by Sound Sultan), Lagos Warriors (of the Dodan Warriors/Dodan Barracks Basketball programme) and Stallions (Union Bank). Clubs from Senegal, Ivory Coast and Gabon were also involved in the league.

They then sought permission from the Nigerian Basketball Federation to play in both their new league and the Nigerian league. The NBBF told them that they should have sought permission before creating the league. They said that they had the permission of FIBA Africa, but FIBA Africa wrote to the NBBF that they never gave permission for the new league to hold. Then the NBBF indefinitely suspended all the Nigerian teams that took part in the new league.
thanks for the comprehensive reply. I have a better understanding now.

It's shown live on DBN Television/Kwese Sports and it's quite interesting, even though some of my favourite teams were banned from this year's competition for creating an unauthorised league.
is fhis league recognised by the NBBF?

Education / Re: Is This True About Private Xtian Universities Girls? by DangotePikin: 12:11pm On Sep 11, 2017
Many people that hate on private uni girls do so because the ladies rejected thier advances.
Statsocial:
I read this crap some weeks ago by this somewhat foolish writer. And I couldn't but nod my head on how stupid a person can be to write this nonsense.

Is the writer assuming there are only slutty girls in Christian Universities? Wouldn't we find girls even in greater numbers who do this in public or secular private universities?

Why did the writer put the Responsibility on Morality on the door step of a university without taking into cognizance that the girls already had their characters formed from home prior to attending these schools?

Why is the writer desperately trying to create a non existent correlation between attending private universities and immorality?

Considering there are slutty girls everywhere then why is this news? Aren't there Unilag ladies who trade sex for marks or go on parties with older men all weekends.

Why is the emphasis on the girls, it takes both sexes to commit immorality.

Op are u an AntiChrist? Because I don't know that ABUAD and PAU are Christian universities so why are you trying to spin the topic to "Christian universities"?

Whoever this writer is should find better use of his time and stop his mudslinging campaign against private universities. If we have a morality problem in this country it wouldn't be a man who went to a party of unclad girls that would make it better.

Notice he is not a member thats why he says THEIR. but its interesting to note that the if Oyedepo was a poor man, he would have inspired this guy. The world wants the church to be poor and criticizes a man of God who prospers without knowing that the success of many others are tied to the prosperity of a righteous man
I think he attends winners. He once shared a photo on ig during shiloh.
Politics / Re: Photo Of Yemi Osinbajo, His Wife And Children by DangotePikin: 4:52pm On Sep 10, 2017
What I like about Adeboye and rccg in general is that he doesn't force his pastors to practice his doctrines and beliefs. This is essential to allow subordinates know God for themselves and not live in your shadows. Osinbajo is original and true to himself.

Uncivillised lowlife with no brain. Illiterate
don't allow jobless trolls drag you into thier mud. I did a qualitative study on the mindset of a sample of nairalanders, and my findings revealed that only 20% are serious minded individuals capable of initiating an intelligent discussion. They remaining 80% are jobless lowlife that are only here to pour out thier frustration on other individuals. The trick is as soon as I see someone that sounds sensible I follow the person, I only read posts on my followers list. The point I am making is that it is probably best to ignore them at times. Because they have nothing to lose.

it isn't only about this post. I'm following you so each time you post I know. There hasn't been any Korede Bello thread that hit front page that you wouldn't have a say on. You can't overlook his charm, which is quite understandable since you're a lady. There is nothing wrong with falling for a guy, a supposedly fulfilled one at that.

Education / Re: South West Nigeria Very Suitable For Wind Power Generation-Nigerian Universities by DangotePikin: 4:52pm On Sep 07, 2017
Statsocial:
A study has confirmed that the wind profiles and characteristics of south west region of Nigeria are suitable for electricity generation, with the energy cost analysis showing that generation cost can be as low as 0.02/kWh and as high as 5.03/kWh, depending on the turbine model employed.

Dr. Oluseyi Ajayi and Dr. David Omole, both of Covenant University; Professor Richard Fagbenle of the Obafemi Awolowo University; Professor James Katende of the Botswana International University of Science and Technology; and Adekunle Badejo of the Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa had in their study, ‘Wind Energy Study and Energy Cost of Wind Electricity Generation in Nigeria: Past and Recent Results and a Case Study’, assessed the wind energy potential of 10 selected sites in the south western region of Nigeria and established that sites in Lagos and Oyo States were adequately suited for large scale generation, while those from other sites may be suitable for small scale generation.

Adopting renewable energy resources for electricity production and other energy needs has become a notable objective globally, the researchers submitted.

I like to see collaborative studies among leading African universities such as this. Very soon, we will start to see intelligent disagreement by african scholars in journals like it used to happen among western thinkers of old.

Education / Re: UNILORIN, LASU, Covenant are Nigeria's First choice Universities-JAMB by DangotePikin: 7:51am On Aug 31, 2017
Statsocial:
Which one is kolaodaisi university and kwararafa university aggain

We all know why unilorin wld continue to be the university of first choice.

Lasu isn't much of a surprise too. Since lautech now has k leg many wld be applicant wld seek out lasu.

Covenant has always been the private uni of first choice since time immemorial. You see over 900 folks choosing Nile and Baze university as their first choice in jamb. I am certain these kind of people require some sort of luxury education without having to leave Nigeria.

These kind of ppl would never have schooled in places like UI or UNN even if they got the admission free of charge and by the way even if they wanted they would still get into Fg unis before the poor mass(having that kind of wealth in d nation's capital comes with unprecedented influence). So if private universities didn't exist i can bet my two cent that those folks would be schooling outside these country with our badly needed forex.

Thankfully many in the wealthy class are no longer seeing the need to send out their very young ones to foreign schools for undergraduate studies rather they wld let them do undergrad here and travel out for postgrad-these makes our economy better. While these private universities are educating the wealthy and middleclass they are also doing an important job of keeping them here!

For the rest still running to UK, its a matter of time and they would realise that their wealthy family friends are studying in the likes of Nile, Baze and even Covenant and Babcock(with full bragging rights) and hopefully they would choose those universities instead of leaving the country.

some universities actually had only 4 students applying to them. How will they survive?
Education / Re: Private schools in Rwanda close down as public schools become more attractive by DangotePikin: 7:36pm On Aug 26, 2017
Statsocial:
This template may not work in Nigeria considering our big size and rapidly increasing population. Small countries like Rwanda can use templates of countries with their own size while Nigeria would need to study the templates of emerging big economies like India, Pakistan and Indonesia while copying the models of big countries like China, USA, Brazil and Mexico and not Scandinavian countries as some have suggested.

For instance the template we used for higher education in the 80s is the same template S/Africa uses now but funding as become an issue for S/African varsities as the country does not allow the establishment of private universities. Now with the problematic model S/Africa and Nigeria used the only reason why S/African varsities could rank higher than that of Nigeria was that while Nigeria has about 85 public universities(Not enough if private univ are abolished) S/Africa only has about 24(most likely enough). The Nigerian own was draining cash as the university system expanded and the funding for each university became diluted year in year out.

So if we are serious about ending education tourism, sack the idea of running private universities out of business. However increase funding but DO NOT expand the public university system which would ensure that indigent and brilliant students who want university education can still get access. Allow the rich and middle class of the society to attend private universities and flourish that system. If done successfully the private universities should be encouraged to seek out foreign students from neighbouring African countries to increase their enrollment which would also advance Nigeria's economy.

your comment is for universities, this post is for secondary schools.
