I graduated since last year from a very expensive private uni and I'm yet to do my clearance , I arrived home 1st October 2023 and I've been in my hometown ever since . My dad with all the influence and power he has , refused to let me work in his company after all his big promises , I came back home and met him sick and I forfeited my chances to travel to Choba where I had someone willing to accommodate me and would've found work sooner than here , I left my cashier work because of school and now I'm done and it feels like , I have been standing at a place. I got a teaching work for 15k per month and was owed 3 months salary after being paid the very first salary 3 weeks late, I was alone and I needed money , how can I keep working with a small salary that is still not being paid online. That is a bad work environment. I stopped and started hawking pancakes , the sun almost finished me , when I kept it at a place sometimes it goes to waste because most people only patronize me by morning , men who have nothing better to do will act like they want to buy and call me and start blabbing , if you ignore them they will act as if they wanted to buy something and you're not serious , its very discouraging. I have work experience as a computer operator , cashier for a bet business , I was the only cashier in the most populated bet shop in Maryland street Choba , I've managed online page of a hair brand as its social media manager , interacting with customer , organizing ads and doing basic research on what favors the business. I no get big eye , even if its 15k I'm earning as salary let me at least see it , how can I be going to work everyday and still depending on my bf to survive for so long , a particular week I went to teach for the whole week eating only once because I don't live with my bf and he was broke that period , I only eat when I come back and go to his house , my sister too was broke , I was so depressed but everyone is saying I should have endured , if my school covered my feeding I won't quit , my highschool covered feeding for its teachers . Now I'm jobless and at home and I need a job but I don't know where to start , I really don't want to teach now because of my experience . I have a BS.c but I feel like I have nothing since I can't even clear my fees on my own 300k plus tfare from rivers to Ogun state and accommodation . I have my dads old Sim and he has the numbers of influential people in our town who don't know me , I feel like sending them messages to plead for a job but I'm tired of the questions , people asking me "why didn't you ask your dad?" My dads wife is behind all his decisions , he keeps saying after service I'll get a job in council that pays me 100k and above but I've been home since October , school was hell for me , I thought by now I would be at peace , I'm just disorganized and its eating me. I am lucky but it doesn't mean I should be comfortable depending on one person for everything , even as his leg is not strong he's doing a lot , if I were to get a job it would be better for both of us |

Auxtan: When we met I was selling pancakes as an hair dressers apprentice , using a damaged button phone ![]() He didn't know anything about me , he's not from here , he moved to my town last year , even with how he was acting at first I knew he knew nothing about me , he used to talk to me like I was unexposed and local , it was people that knew me that would tell him who I was but even still , if he had grown up here , I would never even give him a chance , the men here have approached for that status thing and its always so obvious. If I tell the other men I'm hungry , they'll give me a history lesson about my dad , thats why i only date outside ,but with him its as if I'm his child, he sees me as his innocent and sweet person, he's always thinking and making provision with the little he has , most times I don't eat till he's back from work so that we can eat together , even if there's food , I'll wait so that we can eat everything together , it feels good sha. |

I met my current boyfriend last year still here in my hometown , but I didn't accept him until march because I needed time to move on from my ex (we broke up because of distance). I love this new guy and he loves me too we've been together since march and although it started off rocky , its become more stable and its getting serious. He's been itching to meet my family officially but from where I'm standing that's a bad idea..... My mom is materialistic and artificial , she doesn't believe in humble beginnings and I don't want her to get involved and make him feel bad. He's orphaned and fends for himself and me , he's very kind and understanding and he cherishes me , other men that came want me for stupid reasons and most of the men here are not single , you'll be a side chick to a man that can't give his wife money to make her hair (waste of sin) , But my bf is like my best friend he's my type and I'm his type, young , handsome , hardworking and caring , I love that we both look very good and I usually imagine having a baby with him, that will look just like him I recently got pregnant without realizing it on time but whilst treating a suspected infection I put myself and my pregnancy at risk and we were adviced to terminate it , it was life threatening and I was bed ridden ,I had him with me from start to finish , helping me go through this hard time ,both of us were emotionally ready for the baby but God knows best(maybe next year) ![]() My mom says he's a nobody because he's orphaned , didn't further his studies after waec , does hard labour and he's not from our town . My father also had no opportunity to further on time and I wasn't born with a silver spoon , it was after I had grown a bit that we became highly privileged , and got wealthy. I didn't earn my life , I was blessed and lucky to be the first graduate in my family but none of this is his fault , but my mother thinks I should bring home some big guy that drives a car and has a degree. if he didn't care about my family ,I won't be bothered yet, but he said he's tired of hiding and wants to reach out but I'm scared it would go wrong because I know my parents. What can I do ? |

CrownedPhoenix: I moved out and I got a job and its going really great , I moved out last year December , patching with a cousin sis , then moved in with my ex who was my bf then , he traveled and left me in his family home. His people weren't pleased and after a month of not hearing from him , they politely asked me to leave around February , I was forced to do it all on short notice. I asked family members to let me rent their vacant place but they insisted I go back home and told me I wouldn't make it and I won't find a place. It was a very stressful month , I was given hope by many people , but dissapointed at last minute. But at last I rented my first apartment, the lady who moved out convinced me that she would let me use her things and come get them by December , because she didn't have where to keep them. I had no property of my own ,no bed , no gas , pot or even plates , just bags of clothes. By march without informing me , the former tenant showed up and packed everything , including her gas which was filled by me for 3 months and I used her pot to cook , so I had to waste my sauce because I lost appetite and no way to even warm it . I moved home to clear my head and was awaiting my overdue salary when I got a reminder as to why I left in the first place and got depressed again , called up a friend and cried and boom they sent me money to add to my savings for gas and pots and plates ![]() I purchased my own gas , pot set , ingredients container , buckets. I got a job as a Junior High school teacher and also a private lesson teacher. its been exciting. I've also gone out on dates so I'm doing great |

Growing up I always heard that colored hair was for lightskinned girls , one spirit inside me told me to do blonde hair and I went ahead and did it . I guess this is my revenge look for losing my job , having no home and many more annoying things that happened inside this small December. Sometimes a new hair can make you feel a little Berra How do I look? 2 Likes

Hey everyone! I want to talk to you about the importance of learning about your business. As a hair vendor, I've learned firsthand how crucial it is to understand every aspect of what I do. When I first started out, I didn't have all the knowledge, but I didn't let that stop me. I took the opportunity to dive in and learn along the way. Even though I was a young Nigerian woman without years of experience, I didn't let that hold me back. I sought out advice, asked questions, and learned from others who had been in the industry longer than I had. One thing I've realized is that it's okay not to know everything right from the start. I was never ashamed to admit that I was still learning. In fact, I embraced it and appreciated every step of the journey. Every new piece of information I gained was a building block for me to improve and grow. I knew that in order to succeed, I had to be open to learning from those around me. I listened to my customers, paid attention to industry trends, and sought out mentors who could guide me. I absorbed as much knowledge as I could and used it to improve my skills and my business. The journey wasn't always easy, but I stayed focused on my goal of becoming the best hair vendor I could be. I put in the hard work and dedication to continually enhance my abilities. Now, I'm proud to say that I've come a long way. By being open to learning and always looking to improve, I've been able to grow my business and make a positive impact in the industry. I want to encourage all of you to never be afraid to learn and grow in your own endeavors. Every step you take to enhance your knowledge and skills will bring you closer to your goals. Embrace the process, be open to learning from others, and never stop striving to improve. You'll be amazed at how much you can achieve by simply being willing to learn and grow. If I can do it, you can too!
