Quite an experience. Your confidence at POE is soothing. All the best in Canada.

Nogen:
Air Maroc isn't that bad after all. The only complaint is the long hours one has to stay at the Casablanca airport before departure. But we tried to make use of the kids playground at the airport. My children had something to distract them for hours.

Brother, tenacity and ruggedness is not exclusive to Nigeria and Nigerians.
Just hope for the best.
Happy Independence NG!
abestine:

It can't be worse than what we face here in Nigeria, though it may be tasking, but we are rugged and tough, and when going gets tough, only the tough keeps going... We are Nigerians, we never say No...

Yeah, I had too. The issue I had was on their insistence on seeing the cash. With other border agents, they just ask how much cash you have on you and don't create a scene out of it. From another perspective though they might be reacting based on experience. It's all good anyway.
Great person you are Sir. Your brother was full of praises.
thesoj:

@dapoddon: how did you convince them to let you check in? Did you have to find the $1000 cash?

Guys, touchdown Toronto ! Very clean and beautiful country from the little have seen.
For the guys who haven't paid fees or have funding and going via Egypt Air, pls hold like 1k dollars, although non of their business the guys at MMIA might ask for it.
POE, was super chilled, just be bold, confident and honest. Might also be good to keep track of ur luggage in transit points to avoid stories upon arrival at final destination.
Apparently baba @thesoj is on a mission to relocate his entire family to Canada, met another of his brothers on the plane.
TRV fall on all hopefuls and refused applications.

Dear all, if you're flying Egypt Air, ensure you check in with some snacks to sustain you on your journey and also go with lower dollar denomination as you may not enjoy the the meal on board. Na pepper dem give my wife chop o grin. Also, there is no free WI-FI service at the Cairo international airport incase you need to make some calls through what'sapp or messenger to your peeps back home . It's $2 per hour

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by dapoddon: 10:16am On Jul 27, 2017
Boss, if u ask me, while the online route has its challenges, it is still a very convenient way of applying.
My advice would be put together a very easy to understand and decipher app. I think the reason for some folks having too long a processing time is probably cos the VOs couldn't swiftly understand the app and documents submitted.
Some folks here have suggested even using hyperlinks to make the work of the VO easier while navigating through ur application. Make sure your documents are complete as you can't add any after submission. As regards your police clearance from the US, u can always submit if requested for by CIC. Ultimately man, shoot ur shot asap, time waits for nobody.
jnyuwa02:
So if you submit online route, you cannot add additional documents after you hit the submit button. How about paper route? After submission, if you have additional paperwork to submit can you? I have been hearing complaints that online route, they forget about your application and leave it floating in cyberspace for a long time before they look at it. This can't be true or is it?

Good evening brothers, you all have been wonderful. I am new here and so far i am impressed with what i am seeing.
My Canada study permit was recently refused (reason: length of proposed stay in Canada and purpose of visit)
I wish to reapply but my UCI number is 10 digits instead of the normal 8 digits and as a result can not all fit into the Study permit Application PDF file. Please does anyone here know the reason for this and is there a solution to this problem?

I think it's at the discretion of the department to grant the UMGF. My department for instance doesn't require any special application for the UMGF asides ur application for admission. So I believe it's automatic once your profile is a perfect fit. My deadline was also January. What dept did you apply to?
samjumbo:

I am actually surprised he the UMGF funding. During application, manitoba deceived me that it is an automatic process to be added to the funding list, I head that one can only apply for it around november-december, and that it is closed by January of each year. Sadly I just applied for admission at that time. Can you please sherd some light on this UMGF funding stuff boss please??
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by dapoddon: 11:28am On Jul 11, 2017
Wow! Congratulations boss. U got the UMGF. Fantastic stuff. What MSc course are you going for at Manitoba?
fiendishghoul:

Amen bro, it shall end in praise for all us

Please note I didn't submit a lot of documents,

Submitted may 15th, online route, biometrics completed may 18th, medical request July 3rd, medicals completed, July 7th, passport request July 11th.
: Bsc first class University of Benin, 2015
Admission letter msc university of Manitoba, with full funding of 18,000 cad per year for 2 years
UMGF award, showing scholarship of 28,000 Cad for 2 years
Letter of sponsorship from sponsor with sponsors statement of account showing 93 million on deposit and affidavit of support of 20,000 cad for my studies
Nysc discharge certificate

Join me praise God, first time I came here, I was really scared cuz I didn't upload a lot of documents, and it seemed the normal trend was to do so, this just feels like a miracle

In the interim, while you order for your GCMS, pls share your profile and documents submitted so the house can give inputs.

Omalicha, sorry for your delay. I think your sponsor who is your sister and domiciled in Canada was the issue, hence the not sure you'll return after studies.
Proving home ties at this point becomes expedient.
You should order ur GCMS for more explicit reasons anyway.
What MA program are u going for in U of M?
OmalichaUC:
Goodevening guys. I applied for visa on the 11th of May after I was offered admission for M.A September 2017 Fall at UofManitoba with partial funding. My sis who is my sponsor also resides in Canada.

Unfortunately for me my visa was denied yesterday because V.O claims I don't have travel history and he's not sure I ll return after studies.

House, I want to reapply. Pls I need your ever - reliable advice(s).

Thanks.

Easy gingerr. You're not a failure. You were only delayed,
not denied. Pick urself up, understand the behind the scenes reasons for ur delay by ordering ur GCMS file, tackle them with the aid of this thread, refire and come back to share your goodness.
You can also share your profile with the house for the gurus to dissect.
Gingerr:
my application was denied few minutes ago. It's so unfortunate. Been following the thread silently. I did my assignment well, wrote a convincing Sop, read previous parts before submission....prayed like I never did...I feel like a failure. I don't even know how to break the news to my parents. Can't stop crying, I'm so devastated. I didn't see it coming.

Tbvh there is absolutely no need for an agent. This forum is all you need and even more for a successful TRV application. It even comes with added tips for survival and prosperity in Canada. I am a living testimony. Started following the thread in January. Digested as much information from part 7 (am presently still in part 9). Decided to apply in April, got my TRV in May. I insist no need for an agent, digest and apply as much information as possible peculiar to your situation.
Jamiedani:
Hey guys, I've been following you posts and replies, I'd say it really educating. I've observed a particular trend, you guys work your application, processing etc on your own. I don't know if it is bad to hire an agent because that's what I'm planning on doing. I don't know if anyone have heard about PFL educational services. Heard they are very good. I don't mind the cost sha, I can afford it. Please I need your suggestions on whether to go with them@PFL.
